Anna Kournikova spotted with diamond ring on engagement finger

Melbourne, July 07 (ANI): Anna Kournikova has been spotted with a huge diamond ring on her engagement finger.

The hot Tennis star, who has long been linked to singer Enrique Iglesias, showed off her ring when she came to watch World Team Tennis on Monday night, the Daily Telegraph reports.

However, when she was asked if the ring meant she was committed, she simply replied: “I thought you were the good press.”

The Russian bombshell became conscious and hid her hand behind her back.

Kournikova was scheduled to play for the St. Louis Aces but will miss the season because of a wrist injury.

She still participated in a kid’s clinic, signed autographs and cheered on her teammates. (ANI)

Murray’s double mission-French Open fourth round and meeting with Black Eyed Peas

Paris, May 29 (ANI): The world’s third best tennis player, Andy Murray of Britain, is on a double mission – to reach the fourth round of the French Open today before meeting the American music band Black Eyed Peas.

According to The Sun, Murray is scheduled to take on Serbian Janko Tipsarevic, and is staying at the same hotel as the American band and their singer Fergie.

“I listen to the Black Eyed Peas. I like their music and it would be nice to see them. Every time I come back from the tennis, there are people waiting outside for them. It’s surprising they are in here as it’s quite a small hotel,” Murray said.

As far as his third-round clash with Tipsarevic was concerned, Murray described the world No 65 as a tough competitor.

“He normally plays better when he plays against a higher level of competitor. He serves big, he moves well and he is a good shot maker. It will be a tough match,” Murray, said.

Tipsarevic described himself as the underdog and with nothing to lose.

The two players are currently tied two-all in matches. (ANI)

Father admits beating Oz tennis ace Jelena ‘for her sake’

Melbourne, May 7 (ANI): Damir Dokic, the father of Australian tennis ace Jelena Dokic, has admitted to hitting his daughter, and defended his aggression, saying that it was “for her sake.”

“If I was ever a little bit more aggressive towards Jelena, it was for her sake,” Dokic told the Serbian newspaper Vecernje Novosti.

In the latest Sport and Style magazine, published in The Age this week, the tennis star spoke in detail about the trauma her father caused and how she fled her family home in October 2002.

“When I was young, I was beaten by my parents,” Dokic said, “and I am now thankful to them for that, because that helped me to become the right person. Anyway, is there any parent who didn’t do that at least once or twice – of course, for the sake of their children?”

He added: “When she was with me, she was on the right track. When she was 19, she earned 6-7 million dollars, and was on the (World Tennis Challenge) list and drank tea with the Australian Prime Minister.”

Dokic, upset at the extent of his daughter’s revelations, has been arrested after police found two illegal “bombs” from his home today.

Damir Dokic was arrested after he threatened to blow up the Australian Embassy in Belgrade, government officials have said.

He told the Serbian newspaper Blic he would “fire a rocket” on the car of the Australian ambassador to Serbia if she did not retract the comments. (ANI)
