Wife takes back Mark Owen

London, April 24 (ANI): English singer Mark Owen has been taken back by his wife Emma Ferguson after he cheated on her, it has emerged.

His wife has given the 38-year-old singer another chance. But she has also reportedly warned him saying, “One more strike and you’re out.”

Owen, after being scolded by band-mate Gary Barlow and spending a month in a rehab, has promised to change. He has also agreed to take the help of a marriage counsellor, reports The Mirror.

“Mark is itching to resume family life. He has not touched alcohol in five weeks and has done a lot of navel-gazing as well as receiving serious professional counsel. Emma knows he is a great dad. She has agreed to give their marriage one more crack on the proviso he behaves himself, doesn’t so much as look at another woman and attends marriage counselling,” a source said.

“Mark has agreed to all her terms. And he has even suggested they try for another baby to cement their relationship. Another influence was Gary Barlow who has been a rock for both Emma and Mark. He’s been telling Mark to pull his socks up. It was the talking to he needed,” the source added.

The couple’s marriage was almost over when Owen admitted having a number of extra marital affairs.

His short-tempered wife immediately took off her wedding ring, and shut all sources of contact with him. (ANI)

Mark Owen’s rehab stint puts Robbie Williams-Take That reunion on hold

London, Mar 17 (ANI): Robbie Williams’ reunion with Take That has been put on hold owing to Mark Owen’s rehab stint.

Last weekend, the band had booked a recording studio in Wiltshire, but it was cancelled after Owen’s wife Emma kicked him out over his 10 affairs.

Owen, 38, is receiving help for issues with booze, drugs and depression while at the clinic.

And the band has told him that he can take as much time out as he needs.

“They were all heading down there, Robbie included, but the plan has been scrapped for now. All they care about is Mark at the moment and it wouldn’t feel the same all of them practising for their comeback without him,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

It was revealed last year how the band, which also includes Jason Orange, Gary Barlow and Howard Donald, spent time in a recording studio in New York last September.

But the source added: “All excitement about the future is very much on hold because Mark’s got to get better first.”

Meanwhile, Mark’s friends have revealed that it’s “far too early” for Emma to have made any decisions about taking the cheating singer back.

“She wants to see how Mark responds to treatment. Believe it or not, she does want him to get better – for his own sanity if nothing else,” said a pal. (ANI)

Mark Owen’s wife asks for divorce

London, Mar 13 (ANI): Take That member Mark Owen’s wife Emma has requested a divorce from him after she refused to take him back following his fling with 10 women.

Owen, 38, had hoped to win her back after she agreed to crisis talks at their home, but she told him she does not want him around her or their two children, Elwood, three and 16-month-old Willow Rose.

The singer has been staying at a friend’s home as he comes to terms with Emma’s decision to not forgive him.

“He’s in a hell of state. All life has been sapped from him. He deeply wants Emma to forgive him but she’s made it plain that won’t happen yet,” the Daily Star quoted a pal as saying.

“Mark was desperate for her to listen to his side of the story and try to understand. She agreed to a meeting but it didn’t end well – she just told him to get out.

“His confession has been a total bombshell. Her hurt and pain is still too raw. She’s got a lot of things to take in and work out in her mind.

“Mark has agreed to lie low and give her and the children some space. He doesn’t want Mother’s Day ruined for his kids.

“He still hopes to save his marriage but knows there’s not going to be a quick fix.

“He’s made a clean confession but is really, really nervous about other stories which might yet emerge. Mark fears there’ll be no way back and he could end up being divorced, which will destroy him,” the pal added. (ANI)

London, March 13 (ANI): Mark Owen has confessed he has been battling alcohol addiction for at least a decade.

The Take That singer, who apologised for cheating on his wife Emma with as many as 10 women, called himself “a prat” and further admitted being a heavy cannabis user.

“I have had issues for a long time. I”ve drunk for the last 10 years and it got to a bad point,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

The 38-year-old dad-of-two added: “I want to make it absolutely clear I am not using the drink as an excuse. I”ve been living with the guilt. Maybe the drink was my way of dealing with the guilt.” (ANI)

Lord Nelson’s ‘menage-a-trois’ expenses shown in household accounts

London, May 20 (ANI): Newly discovered documents belonging to British Flag Officer oratio Nelson have shown that he had shared the expenses spent on his mistress with her usband while all three were staying together.

Lord Nelson, who fell in love with Sir William Hamilton’s wife Lady Hamilton during the apoleonic Wars in Naples, invited both to live with him.

The move with his younger wife Emma, Lady Hamilton, into the celebrated admiral’s house in erton, south London, in 1801 made Sir William Hamilton become one the most famous uckolds in British history.

Now records have been recovered that show that not only did the two men share a lover, they lso equally shared expenses to cover the huge sums necessary to meet Lady Hamilton’s xpensive tastes.

A set of 16 household accounts covering the period of the unusual domestic arrangement, which s up for auction next month, show that Lord Nelson and Sir William split many bills evenly.

They paid out up to 156 pounds 4s 4d a week – around 11,000 pounds in today’s money – to ocal tradesmen for treats such as fresh meat, fish and oysters, to which Lady Hamilton was articularly partial.

The accounts, some of which include calculations in Lord Nelson’s hand, also detail payments o household staff, including wages of 2 pounds 13s 9d to maid Phillis Thorpe for more than hree months’ work.

“That’s only about one-third of the amount they forked out for fish in a single week,” the elegraph quoted Dr. Thomas Venning, a manuscripts expert at Christie’s, which is selling the ocuments, as saying.

“These accounts provide a valuable insight into life in England just before Trafalgar,” he added.

The weekly accounts, signed by both Lord Nelson and Sir William’s steward Francis White, re expected to fetch up to 9,000 pounds at Christie’s in London on June 3. (ANI)

Gustave Flaubert’s ‘Madame Bovary’ makes online debut

London Apr 28 (ANI): The final manuscript and multiple rough drafts of Madame Bovary, one of French author Gustave Flaubert’s influential novels, has been made available for general public on the Internet.

Published in 1857, Madame Bovary is a story of a doctor’s wife, Emma Bovary, who has adulterous affairs and lives beyond her means in order to escape a mediocre husband and the dross of provincial life.

The international team including 130 volunteers from 12 countries including high school students contributed and all their work was proof read.

Madame Bovary also got embroiled in a controversy before becoming a bestseller.

In 1914, Flaubert’s niece donated the manuscript and myriad notes to the library of Rouen, in Normandy where the novel was set.

In all, some 4546 pages were scanned in high definition and painstakingly transcribed by the team.

“Nobody in a single life could have completed such a task,” the Telegraph quoted Yvan Leclerc, professor of modern languages at Rouen University, which co-ran the project with the town’s library as saying. (ANI)

Bruce Willis ‘handpicked’ his model wife

New York, Mar 26 (ANI): Bruce Willis didn’t meet his new wife Emma Heming through friends, as his pals have said, infact, the actor handpicked his ladylove while he was casting for his film ‘Perfect Stranger’.

The 54-year-old actor was apparently looking for a date when he was casting for the film-which starred him and Halle Berry, and set his eye on Heming when she was finalised for a minor speaking role.

“During the casting of ‘Perfect Stranger’ [the suspense movie Willis made with Halle Berry two years ago], Bruce was very involved with the casting. In fact, you could say he was extremely involved no matter how minor the role,” The New York Post quoted an impeccable source as saying.

Willis requested the casting agents to place calls to modelling agencies to fill the roles of extras and minor speaking parts.

“He personally went through head shots and when the girls were called in to ‘read,’ he was there in the meeting. It was odd for the star of a movie to do so, but at the time he was single and I guess he needed a date,” said a casting source.

And then, “he started dating [model] Tamara Feldman, with whom he coincidentally enough had a sex scene,” said the insider.

After Heming was selected for a small speaking part, Willis “started dating both Tamara and Emma but obviously, Emma eventually won out,” said the source.

And finally, Willis and Heming got married last weekend at his home in Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos.

Madonna, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher and Willis’ three daughters attended the nuptials.

However, a rep for Willis declined to comment. (ANI)

The high point came when she landed a part in HBO’s TV series ‘Entourage’ but it was limited to a one-episode stint as a girl in the background. (ANI)

Darwin’s pianist wife may have influenced evolution theories

Washington, March 4 (ANI): A new study has suggested that at least two key evolution theories formulated by the British naturalist Charles Darwin was influenced by his musician wife Emma’s daily piano playing sessions.

According to a report in Discovery News, the study suggests that Charles Darwin’s home life, and particularly his love of music, played a larger role than many might think in shaping his work, such as his groundbreaking book “On the Origin of Species,” authored 150 years ago.

“The long-term marital dance of Emma and Charles Darwin was set to the routine beat of an almost daily piano recital,” said Julian Derry.

He told Discovery News that “music was central to home life and a panacea after a hard day’s work, or often when not feeling well.”

Derry, a researcher in the Institute of Evolutionary Biology at the University of Edinburgh, made the determination after studying Emma Darwin’s diary, Darwin family correspondences and other documents.

These show Emma and Charles “were rarely separated” after they married in 1839, he said.

The family even conducted experiments together on earthworms, with Emma playing loudly to see if the worms would react. They didn’t, so Charles concluded worms “are completely deaf.”

The naturalist frequently lamented his own lack of musical skills, which seemed to heighten his admiration of Emma’s playing, usually enjoyed while he reclined on a living room sofa.

According to Derry, such evenings contributed to Darwin’s theory of sexual selection.

In “The Descent of Man,” Darwin wrote, “I conclude that musical notes and rhythm were first acquired by the male or female progenitors of mankind for the sake of charming the opposite sex.”

“Darwin’s idea was that the organs for sound production in early humans could have been precursory to more complex verbal communication, namely language,” said Derry.

Derry also claims that Darwin’s observation of his 10 children and their varied musical abilities contributed to his theories on mechanisms for inheritance, which were described in “On the Origin of Species.” (ANI)
