Goldfish stuns owners after surviving out of water for 7hrs!

London, Mar 26 (ANI): A goldfish left its owners gob-smacked when it managed to survive out of water for seven hours.

Carol Norris had thought 13-year-old fish, named Mr Fish, was dead after finding him floating lifeless at the top of his tank at 7am.

She removed the pet, wrapped him in tissue paper and put him in a dry bath tub – away from the family”s five cats.

Then, Carol, 44, and partner Darren Bradnick, 40, went shopping and returned at 2pm, when she began preparing for Mr Fish’s burial in their garden.

However, she screamed with shock as the pet, still shrouded in tissue, started to flip as she picked him up.

Carol immediately took the pet to the kitchen sink and put some water in it.

And then, the couple watched in amazement as the 6in fish moved his fins.

They left Mr Fish in a bowl and wedged him into an upright position using a glass – but still feared he would die, but to their amazement, it made a full recovery from the ordeal.

The couple”s daughter Ammba, 18, had won Mr Fish at a funfair when just five.

“I screamed when he flipped in my hand. It was quite spooky,” the Sun quoted school catering assistant Carol, of Cambridge, as saying.

Web designer Darren said: “It”s amazing – he”s now swimming in his tank as if nothing happened. It”s lucky Carol didn”t flush him down the loo straight away.” (ANI)

Kozhikode (Kerala), June 28 (ANI): A nine-year-old girl from Kozhikode district is being credited as the youngest web designer in the state for working out the website of the Bar Council of Kerala.

Shreelaxmi Suresh, the daughter of an advocate, has already designed and developed more than 10 websites.

The latest website launched by Shreelaxmi, www.barcouncilkerala.com is aimed at updating people on legal matters and helping poor people by providing free legal aid through the website.

“It was indeed great pleasure in seeing her (Shreelaxmi Suresh), interacting with her and really watching her performance in the IT field. There is no limit to what she can achieve. That’s what I feel and I am sure she will achieve glory and will cross all the world records in this field,” said Justice Kurien Joseph of the Kerala High Court.

When aged just eight, Shreelaxmi designed the official website of her own school apart from another website for deaf people and a Malyalam news website for kids.

“When I was small, I was so interested in doing computers. So when I was in LKG (Lower Kindergarten), I used to draw pictures and paint. Later I used to type alphabets on notepad. Then one day my dad showed me one news cut of a boy who designed a website of his own. So I thought that I too can do a website. My dad knows its basics. So I told him that I do want to study and my dad taught me web designing,” said Shreelaxmi Suresh.

She has won several National and International Awards for her excellence in web designing.

Sreelakshmi is the only member of the Association of American Webmasters, under the age of 18.

The Association of American Webmasters honoured her by giving their membership along with their highest award for excellence in web designing, the Gold Web Award including the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement 2008 and the highest award in India for Children instituted by Government of India.

Between Earth and Heaven

Painting as a medium has the ability to transform the human soul and take one back to one’s own soul, discover oneself and be liberated,” says artist Santosh Mahadik about the first ever joint exhibition that he is holding with his colleague Sachin Akalekar on April 4.

The exhibition has been titled Themes from Earth and Heaven, as the paintings display Mahadik’s love for rustic themes, doors, windows, and rural backgrounds which symbolises the earth and the artist’s tryst with freedom, liberty, and a sense of feeling free, which symbolises heaven. “Basically it is an exhibition where a perscan find reflections of life,” says Sachin Akalekar, the second partner from the artist’s duo.

Both Akalekar and Mahadik have been painting commercially for the last three years. While Sachin has had his paintings showcased at art festivals in Dubai and Goa, Mahadik

has to his credit exhibitions by Art for Heart’s Sake. Speaking more about this Sachin says, “Basically we both have full time jobs, while I am a web designer,

Santosh owns his own advertising studio, in spite of that we find time to pursue our interests in painting, as a result even though we know a lot about the finer nuances of painting we prefer to bill ourselves as commercial artists.”

Beginning on April 4, the exhibition will conclude on April 10, and will be held at the Indiaart Gallery. A total of 45 paintings will be on display and also for sale. The prices of which range from Rs 5000 – 1 lakh.

“The exhibition is basically a gift to our teacher,

Prof D S Khatawkar who taught us everything that we know about paintings today. The paintings are done in acrylic and have a myriad range of hues. The sizes of the canvas range from 4 by 4 ft. to 4 by 7 ft. This contemporary style gives the rural ethos a sense of timelessness and along with it ushers in a belief that combines beauty and magic and takes the person back in time to his or her own soul,” adds Mahadik
