Now, Asif’s estranged girlfriend Veena’s ‘husband’ surfaces

Lahore, Apr.21 (ANI): Just when it looked like the controversy surrounding disgraced Pakistan fast bowler Mohammed Asif and his estranged girl friend Veena Malik was over with both agreeing to settle issues, there has been a new twist to the story with Veena’s ex-friend and actor Babbar Shah claiming to be her husband.

Shah claimed that he had married Veena, a famous television actress and model herself, two years ago and said that he has evidence to prove that he is legally wedded to her.

Shah told media persons that he was shocked to hear that Veena and Asif had married.

Shah said he had married Veena a couple of years ago in front of 22 people who were witness to the wedding.

“I have got concrete evidences and can surface them at any time,” The News quoted Shah, as saying.

“I can make striking revelations in connection with my marriage with Veena if I am forcefully implicated in this scandal any further but my family has advised me to keep this matter at an arm’s length,” he added.

Shah also provided some photographs and mobile clips to the media to prove his claims. (ANI)

Asif-Veena reach out of court settlement over all issues

Lahore, Apr.17 (ANI): The conflict between Pakistan fast bowler Mohammed Asif and his estranged girlfriend Veena Malik seems to be over with both of them reaching an out of court settlement over all issues between them.

Malik, a famous television actress, told Geo News that matters between her and Asif have been resolved as both have decided to end the muddle amicably.

“Matters between Mohammed Asif and me have been decided and we have reached an agreement. We had two-day long talks to reach a deal,” Malik said.

She, however, refused to divulge details about the ‘agreement’ between the two.

Malik said a mutual friend, Zahid Yusuf, mediated between them following which they decided to call-off the tussle.

However, there has been no confirmation of a settlement from Asif’s side.

Earlier, Malik had asked the concerned authorities to register a case against Asif for giving her ‘fake’ cheques.

In her plea, Malik claimed that she had given 10 million rupees to Asif, and the cheque that the fast bowler had given her to return the money had bounced.

Malik claimed that she had supported Asif both ”emotionally” and ”financially” during his bad days, and now she ‘at least’ wants her money back.

Asif was romantically linked to Malik, and there were rumours last year that both got secretly married in London, which has been denied by both of them.

However, Asif got married to a girl from Lahore, Hina, recently. (ANI)

Lahore High Court issues notices to Asif, ex-girlfriend Veena Malik

Lahore, Apr.16 (ANI): The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notices to both fast bowler Mohammed Asif and his estranged girl friend Veena Malik on their respective petitions seeking action against each other.

While the court has issued a notice to television actress Malik on a petition filed by Asif seeking orders to stop her from initiating any action against him and directed her to file a reply, it has also asked Asif’s counsel to respond to Malik’s petition.

Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry also sought a reply from the Ghalib Market Police Station House Officer (SHO) for not registering the First Information Report (FIR) against Asif on Malik’s complaint.

Veena’s counsel argued before the court that the police officer was not registering an FIR against Asif even after an additional district and sessions judge had directed him to do so.

During the hearing, Asif’s lawyer rejected all charges labelled against his client and said that Malik was falsely accusing Asif of fraud because the cricketer had refused to marry her.

Earlier, Malik had asked the concerned authorities to register a case against Asif for giving her ‘fake’ cheques.

In her plea, Malik claimed that she had given 10 million rupees to Asif, and the cheque that the fast bowler had given her to return the money had bounced.

Malik claimed that she had supported Asif both ‘emotionally’ and ‘financially’ during his bad days, and now she ‘at least’ wants her money back.

Malik had earlier sued Asif for recovery of 3.4 million rupees.

“When he (Asif) was banned from cricket and when no one was willing to support or help him I stood by his side and I gave him money which he said he would pay me back when things improved,” Malik had said.

“Now that his situation is better he is trying to avoid meeting his commitment but I want my money back, it is my hard earned money,” she added.

Asif was romantically linked to Malik, and there were rumours last year that both got secretly married in London, which has been denied by both of them.

However, Asif got married to a girl from Lahore, Hina, recently. (ANI)

Asif now accused as ‘home-wrecker’ by film actor

Lahore, Apr.4 (ANI): The list of controversies and scandals is getting longer by the day for banned Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Asif, as he has now been accused of being a ‘home-wrecker’ by a film actor Babrak Shah.

According to The Daily Times, Shah has accused Asif of destroying his marital life.

“I was happily married to Veena when Asif interrupted my married life by wooing Veena and he succeeded,” Shah said.

Shah said he has already divorced Veena Malik, a film and TV actor herself, in the presence of Asif.

“Yes I divorced her when I realised that Veena was not mending her ways and started having an affair with Asif,” he said.

Controversies are not new to Asif. He is currently serving a ban from playing international cricket following his detention at the Dubai Airport for 19 days for carrying a banned substance, opium.

Earlier, days before the ICC Champions Trophy 2006, he along with Shoaib Akhtar tested positive for a banned anabolic steroid nandrolone.

While Akhtar was barred for two years from playing international cricket, Asif was slapped with a year’s suspension.

Asif has also been banned by the Indian Premiere League (IPL) on charges of taking performance enhancement drugs during the league’s first season. (ANI)
