Tweed later returned to his home Buckhurst Hill before heading for his favourite pub with best friend Mark Wright.

He was said to have promised to keep himself out of trouble to be a good role model for Jade’s boys Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.

Floral tributes made reference to Goody’s best-known gaffes, with “East Angular” and “Minging” among the arrangements.

The procession stopped outside a market on Southwark Park Road, where her family used to have a stall.

Funeral director Barry Albin-Dyer released a single white dove, which was greeted by loud cheering and applause.

He told the crowd: “I knew you’d be like this. I knew you’d come and say goodbye like this. So from everyone in Bermondsey, goodbye.”

Mr Albin-Dyer said Jade’s family wanted today’s funeral to raise awareness of the cancer that killed her.

He said: “They wanted me to tell people today that this is just an extension of bringing further awareness to the situation.

“Had Jade been found to have cervical cancer much earlier, she’d have had such a better chance. That is the message they want to give to everybody.”

The mother-of two married Jack Tweed, 21, at a ceremony in a hotel near Hatfield Heath, Essex, on February 22 after being told that she had only weeks to live.

Her friend and publicist Max Clifford said he and Tweed would be among people paying tribute at the service.

Mr Clifford said: “I’m sure it will be a very emotional celebration and tribute to a very special young lady. I think Jade would want people to be laughing and crying and I’m sure they will be.”

The one-time dental assistant who found fame as an ill-educated but straight-talking TV gameshow contestant, died of cervical cancer last month, aged 27.

The final days of the mother of two were as closely chronicled in the media as her controversial appearances on the Big Brother reality television show.

In February she married her boyfriend in a ceremony that received blanked television and newspaper coverage after she had announced doctors had only given her weeks to live from the spread of her cancer.

Even Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who had commented on her illness, joined the tributes that poured in after her death, saying his thoughts went out to her family.

Her funeral cortege will travel through Bermondsey in southeast London where she grew up, to her home in Upshire, Essex, before reaching the St John the Baptist Church in Buckhurst Hill.

Barriers were in place outside the church to hold back the crowds expected to flood to the service.

Many have criticised the media for obsessing over a someone who was famous for little more than being famous.

But her spokesman Max Clifford said Goody had saved lives by using her fame to publicise the risk of cervical cancer.

He told Sky News that young women had written to say they had taken tests after Goody said last August she had cervical cancer. Some had proved positive and were now being treated.

“In years to come her legacy is going to be an awful lot of young women in Britain that will be alive purely because Jade Goody was so public,” he said.

Jade Goody’s family faking burial site to keep ghoulish fans at bay

London, Apr 3 (ANI): Jade Goody’s grieving family is giving false hints about her possible burial plots, in a bid to keep the reality TV star’s ghoulish fans at bay.

Jade’s family doesn’t want fool freaks and sickos to turn up at the gravesite looking for souvenirs.

The late actress’ folks have already leaked information that she is being buried in Epping Forest, Essex, in a “green” grave.

They have also hinted that she would be laid to rest in a cemetery near her home in Upshire, Essex.

However, sources have revealed that neither of these options have been finalised, and that Jade will instead be buried in an unmarked grave at a secret location.

“Jade’s loved ones are desperate for her to be buried with dignity and to rest fully in peace,” the Daily Star quoted a source as saying.

The source added: “They want to be able to bury Jade in private and to keep the location a secret. Sadly, they know there are ghouls and freaks out there who might turn up at the grave site looking for souvenirs.”

At a later date, the family will arrange a memorial to the mum-of-two, who lost her battle with cervical cancer last month at the age of just 27. (ANI)

Tweed struggling to cope with Goody’s death

London, Mar 25 (ANI): Brit celebrity Jade Goody’s hubby Jack Tweed has revealed that he is struggling to cope with the tragic death of his wife.

Tweed, 21, did not have much to say, as he left his mum Mary’s home for lunch with two of his friends at a Zizzi’s restaurant in Redbridge, Essex.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their kind support and for all the flowers,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

His sister Laura, 24, and mum had earlier visited Goody’s Upshire home to look at the huge display of flowers and gifts, which have been left outside the gates.

Mary was asked how her son was coping, and she revealed that he is finding it difficult.

“Jack is ok. He’s finding it very difficult but we’re there for him,” she said. (ANI)

Goody’s mum Jackiey breaks down over ‘Mothers Never Really Die’ poem

London, Mar 24 (ANI): Late Brit celebrity Jade Goody’s mum Jackiey Budden cried as she read the poem ‘Mothers Never Really Die’ that had been left outside the Big Brother star’s house by a fan.

The poem, which had been shortened, was left by fan Kate Stanley, and Goody’s mum cried as she read it to well wishers outside her daughter’s home.

“Mothers Never Really Die – They Just Keep House Up In The Sky!

They polish the sun by day and light the stars that shine at night,

Keep the moon beams silvery bright,

And in their heavenly home above,

They wait to welcome those they love.”

“That is absolutely beautiful. Thank you to whoever sent this,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

She also added that her daughter would have been “overwhelmed” by the mound of floral tributes, and thanked everyone who had travelled to her daughter’s home in Upshire, Essex, to leave flowers and messages. (ANI)

Goody’s mum, hubby plan on giving her “the perfect send-off”

London, Mar 24 (ANI): Late Brit celebrity Jade Goody’s mom Jackiey and widower Jack Tweed have been working on the final plans of the Big Brother star’s funeral so as to give her the “perfect send-off”.

The plans for the funeral had been made by Goody after she came to know that she would not survive the cervical cancer she was suffering from.

As per the plan, a cortege of 21 cars will follow the coffin from her home in Upshire, Essex, to St John the Baptist in Buckhurst Hill on April 4.

Her sons Bobby and Freddie will follow the coffin, which has been made of Royal Windsor Forest oak, to the front of the church before being seated with Tweed, 21.

The service will begin with Jade’s favourite hymn, ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’, and her best friend, bridesmaid and Living TV producer Kate Jackson, will give a reading calling for family and friends to celebrate Jade’s life.

Goody and Tweed’s favourite song, ‘Last Request’ by Paulo Nutini, will play at the end of the service.

“Jade gave Jackiey and Jack a detailed list of things to do,” the Sun quoted a family friend as saying.

“In some ways she is organising this from beyond the grave,” the friend added.

Thousands of fans are set to line the funeral route in a display of public mourning not seen since Princess Diana’s death in 1997.

Plasma screens will be put up outside the church to broadcast the ceremony to fans. (ANI)

Jade Goody’s tearful son driven to see dying mum

Washington, Mar 20 (ANI): The eldest son of cancer-stricken Jade Goody was driven to her bedside after he sobbed to see his dying mum.

Goody has told loved ones not to let her boys Bobby, five, and Freddie, four, witness her fading away.

However, the former Big Brother star’s mother Jackiey had to pick up Bobby from his dad Jeff Brazier’s home to take him to Goody after he repeatedly asked why he couldn’t see his mummy.

He then stayed with the 27-year-old, who has another son Freddie, four, at the family home in Upshire, Essex.

“Bobby is just old enough now to understand he doesn’t have long with mummy,” the Sun quoted a close family friend, as saying.

“He has been asking why they are not staying at the house with her and he just wants to see his mum,” the friend added. (ANI)

Jade Goody takes last glimpse of sun-kissed fields

London, Mar 17 (ANI): Jade Goody, who reportedly has just hours to live, caught one last glimpse of the sun-kissed fields yesterday.

The former Big Brother star gathered all her strength to lift her head and enjoy the view from her dining room bay windows.

Jackiey, 50, and Goody’s 21-year-old hubby Jack Tweed were at the exhausted star’s side.

Jade asked Jack: “Sit me up and let me look out over the fields.”

She managed a smile as she enjoyed the sunshine at her home in Upshire, Essex.

However, the moment was short-lived and went back to sleep.

Jade is insisting that her children Bobby, five, and four-year-old Freddie -should not be present when she dies.

“Jack and Jackiey are waiting for the end. The boys may come over again if Jade wakes up, but she made it very clear she didn’t want them to see her die,” the Sun quoted a family friend, as saying.

“Jade has always been strong and will be fighting even in her sleep. But her body has been ravaged and is now succumbing completely,” the friend added. (ANI)

Goody’s sons celebrate early Mother’s Day with dying mum

London, March 16 (ANI): Jade Goody’s sons brought flowers for their cancer-stricken mum in what could be one of their last visits as she gradually nears her end.

Five-year-old Bobby and four-year-old Freddie visited the 27-year-old, who has just few hours to live after being diagnosed with cervical cancer, to spend time together as part of an early Mother’s Day celebration.

In a touching moment, the little pair held onto their mum’s hand as weak Jade fell asleep after being heavily sedated to lessen her shooting pains.

“The boys went to see her and she was aware of them for a brief moment or two. She saw them and she smiled,” the Sun quoted her spokesman Max Clifford as saying.

“She has put her house in order and faced up to everything in an incredibly brave way. Now we’re waiting for the inevitable. It could be at any time, we just don’t know,” he added.

Jade had pleaded doctors at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital to let her return to her house in Upshire, Essex, so that she could spend her final days with her beloved lads.

Her worsening condition had left medics to fear that she could slip away any time.

She had then told her kids that she would be looking over them as a bright star up in the sky.

She had said: “Mummy’s going to heaven soon. I’m going to be a star up in the sky, so when you are looking up you will be able to see me and know I’m there, always looking over you.”

And when innocent little Freddie asked: “Why are you so sleepy?”

The brave mum replied: “Because the angels are calling Mummy.” (ANI)

‘It is now a matter of hours for Jade Goody’

London, March 15 (ANI): Cancer-stricken Jade Goody has just few hours to live now, according to her pals.

The British reality TV star has been in tremendous pain after cervical cancer spread to her entire body.

“It IS now a matter of hours, she has deteriorated dramatically overnight. Sadly she is very close to the end,” News of the World quoted a source as saying.

The 27-year-old was granted her last wish after doctors allowed her to go home so that she could spend her final days with her beloved sons, Bobby, five, and Freddie, four.

Goody had recently returned from London’s Royal Marsden Hospital to her house in Upshire, Essex, where she suffered excruciating pain that led officials to lift the curfew on her jailbird hubby Jack Tweed so that he could spend time with his terminally ill wife.

Tweed said: “When I got the call I was absolutely terrified. The thought that our fairytale could be over already filled me with dread and sadness.”

And now, family and close friends have come together to be with Goody, who is “terrified of falling asleep because she’s afraid she’ll never wake up”.

Her rep Max Clifford confirmed: “She has deteriorated. She is very weak. The answer is, who knows? We are on the edge of a precipice.” (ANI)

Jade Goody gets last wish to spend final days with kids at home

London, March 12 (ANI): Cancer-stricken Jade Goody was granted her last wish after doctors allowed her to go home so that she could spend her final days with her beloved sons.

The 27-year-old, who has been given just a few weeks to live after being diagnosed with cervical cancer, was said to have constantly held on to her jailbird hubby Jack Tweed’s hand as she left London’s Royal Marsden Hospital.

A nurse escorted the Brit celebrity during the 11/2-hour ambulance journey to her house in Upshire, Essex, where her mother Jackiey allegedly awaited her daughter’s arrival with balloons titled “Mum”.

Goody had reportedly last been with her sons Bobby, five, and Freddie, four, at their christening in the chapel of the hospital.

She had requested medics to let her go to her kids, who were presently under the care of their father and Goody’s ex Jeff Brazier.

“Home is where she wants to be,” the Sun quoted her rep Max Clifford as saying.

“She is just hoping they can keep on top of the pain so she can get as good a quality of life as possible for however long she has left.

“She wants to spend the time with Jack and the boys and all those close to her,” he added. (ANI)
