Lilly the lonely meerkat finds love on internet!

Melbourne, April 28(ANI): Lilly the lonely meerkat has finally found her Mr Darcy – all thanks to the internet.

Lilly had been living at a theme park in Leicestershire, England, after an initial attempt to pair her with a mate was unsuccessful.

Her owners set up a website, meerkatmatch.com, to find her a partner.

Her profile in the site reads: “Alert, dark-eyed, inquisitive, free-spirited lady with a good sense of humor who enjoys fine dining, digging and cosy nights in!”

The site caught attention of the owners of a sandy-colored young male meerkat, residing in Cambridge.

He has now been shifted to Leicestershire to live with Lilly.

“She is totally obsessed with him. It’s true love. Hopefully soon we will hear the patter of tiny paws,” the Daily Telegraph quoted Sandy Gyorvari, manager at Twinlakes theme park in Melton Mowbray, as saying. (ANI)

Average woman dates more than 24 men to find her ”Mr Right”!

London, Apr 24 (ANI): An average woman spends over 2000 pounds and dates more than 24 men in a bid to find her “Mr Right”, claims a new study.

The study conducted by UKDating.com points that a single date can cost a woman 85.38 pounds.

“Although you cannot put the price on true love, it seems you can certainly put a price on finding it,” The Telegraph quoted spokesman for UKDating.com, as saying.

“While men are still traditionally footing the bill of the date on the night, this shows how much women are prepared to pay behind the scenes to make each date successful,” he added.

The report said that before going on every date women spend 12.86 pounds on their hairstyles, another 26.55 pounds on a new outfit and 8.35 pounds on accessories to match the dress.

The study also showed that seven per cent of women have been on between 41 and 60 dates before finally finding someone to share their life with, the paper reports.

The report also said that despite spending a lot of money preparing for a romantic rendezvous, a third of women left halfway through the date after realising that they were sitting with “Mr Wrong”. (ANI)

Brit woman thinks she has finally found Mr. Right in sixth hubby!

London, Sep 11 (ANI): A Brit woman, who has spent 31-years looking for Mr Right, thinks that she has finally found him in her sixth husband.

Lady Rosemaris Chanie-Cridge, 50, a former dancer and actress, saw her five previous marriages last between 18 months and ten years, with her choices ranging from a wealthy property developer to a Texan Marine named Butch Gayheart.

Now, Lady Rosemaris, who has kids Sabrina, 23, Krystle, 24, and 14-year-old Joshua by two different men, says that she has found her true love in plumber Gary Cridge, 40, who she met last year when he came to fix her washing machine.

“I really have found my Mr Right after all these years. Each time I thought the marriage was going to last. I said my vows with sincerity,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

She met her first husband, 25-year-old Michael Robins, at the age of 17 and they wed two years later.

“He was extremely attractive, I fell in love immediately,” she said.

They had a church wedding in Ealing, West London, in 1978, but the marriage broke down after two years.

“I was devastated – I thought that marriage was for life. My parents split up when I was three. I became obsessed with the idea that my marriage would be different,” she said.

She then wed former Marine Harry ‘Butch’ Gayheart, 25, in 1983 but split after two years.

“He proposed after a month. He was so romantic and seemed to offer the love I craved,” she recalled.

Property developer Gordon O’Shea, 40, became her third husband, but the marriage did not last when he decided to give his money away and go to Africa to work as a missionary.

They divorced in 1989 after 18 months of marriage.

Lady Rosemaris met Goran Koroliga at a cocktail party in LA and they wed in 1990, but split after two years.

Her fifth marriage, to Max Jesson in 1997, lasted a decade and left her “absolutely devastated” when it ended.

But Lady Rosemaris, of Banstead, Surrey, believes her new love will last forever after marrying Gary in May.

“I told him about my past. A lot of men would have felt intimidated, but it didn’t matter to him,” she said.

“When I said my vows, they seemed extra special. I always knew true love was out there. I’ve finally found the man of my dreams,” she added. (ANI)

The Oz dating agency that breaks hearts!

Melbourne, Sep 5 (ANI): The unscrupulous dealings of a New South Wales dating agency was recently uncovered after its victims reported that they were fleeced of thousands of dollars without getting anything in return.

Fair Trading Minister Virginia Judge said the government had received a series of complaints from consumers and was taking steps to ban TLC Consulting Services.

She said a Fair Trading investigation found the Tweed Heads company had used misleading and deceptive tactics to induce people to sign expensive contracts for dating services, life coaching and grooming packages.

Some victims reported paying up to 35,000 dollars and 110,000 dollars but received nothing in return.

Judge said evidence also existed that the company had preyed on emotionally vulnerable people struggling to find a partner because they had a disability or lived in remote areas.

“This company will not find you true love but will leave you with a broken heart and an empty wallet,” News.com.au quoted her as saying.

“The conduct of this company is unconscionable.

“It is important we stop the unscrupulous operators from breaking any more hearts,” she added. (ANI)

Math formula says date at least 12 times to find the perfect mate!

Sydney, Aug 24 (ANI): Want to find your one and only? Well, then the best chances of finding the perfect partner is to date at least 12 people before even thinking of marriage.

That’s the calculation of a leading mathematician.

According to Clio Cresswell, singles can increase their chances of finding true love by rejecting at least 12 potential partners before settling down.

Cresswell’s theory, which is based on statistical assessment, claims the chances of divorce is generally very high unless singles date at least a dozen time before they get hitched.

“In Australia, the divorce rate is about 35 per cent for first marriages,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted her as saying.

She explained: “Now, if you were buying a DVD player and I told you it had a 35 per cent chance of breaking down, you might think twice about making that purchase.

“But we still insist on going into marriage with this belief that our partner is the one for us and we have a 100 per cent chance of success.

“According to my principle, you have to reject at least 12 people to increase your chance of finding your long-term partner. If you do that, you raise the chance of making it work to 75 per cent.”

The senior lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, in the University of Sydney, has explained her theory in her new book Sex and Mathematics, apart from introducing it into her tertiary classes.

However, she has a grievance that mathematics is not liked by a lot of people.

She said: “I think it’s so sad that the wider community does not embrace mathematics as much as it could. Mathematics can be fun.” (ANI)

Abhishek Awasthi used me: Rakhi Sawant

Abhishek Awasthi used me: Rakhi Sawant

Rakhi Sawant who is known for her sharp tongue and her abrupt ways has admitted to being ‘used’ and also broken-hearted.

The lady who is the object of many men’s desires and the most talked-about bride-to-be thanks to her televised swayamvar that is currently going on on NDTV Imagine, says that her relationship with ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi was deliberately broken by their own family members.

An admittedly heartbroken Rakhi places the blame on her own mother as well as Abhishek’s mother and domestic help for the relationship that lasted four years not resulting in marriage.

Rakhi is, however, also critical of Abhishek, who, she claims ‘used’ her as a stepping stone to make his base in the industry which is otherwise not welcoming of outsiders.

She insists that she used her contacts to establish him as a choreographer and as soon as his work was done, he dumped her and started dating Shradha Sharma.

This is yet another example that Rakhi quotes as evidence of being unlucky in love, another reason why she is looking for true love through the swayamvar.

London, June 22 (ANI): Venus Williams is not willing to trade the part of her heart that belongs to Wimbledon, for the tennis ace admits it is the only true love in her life.

The 29-year-old single champ, who presently reigns Wimbledon and Australian Open doubles, said that the Championship comes before anything else.

“It is my true love. When something is in your heart you always do your very best to cherish it,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

The elder sister of Serena Williams has won 56 titles, including 17 Grand Slam titles – seven in singles, eight in women’s doubles, and two in mixed doubles.

Venus also holds the record of winning more Olympic gold medals than any other tennis player in history. (ANI)

Meet the couple that married 50 years after getting engaged

London, May 29 (ANI): When John Searle and Maggie Crook got engaged as childhood sweethearts at the age of 18, they would’ve never thought that it would take them half a century to finally tie the knot.

The couple have married more than 50 years after splitting up as teenagers.

They first met at a life-saving club held at the popular seaside resort’s long-closed seafront swimming pool.

They got engaged at 18, but spilt up before they could name the day after their careers caused them to drift apart.

And now, both are 69, and have got married on May 27 more than five decades after vowing to walk down the aisle.

“Being married to Maggie is going to be very nice. We are very happy together. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my first true love,” the Telegraph quoted Searle, a former Royal Marine, as saying.

His new wife said: “It’s all been very easy. We knew each other’s family from before. It’s one of those nice relationships. It’s all been very simple and straightforward.”

The pair sadly parted ways as teenagers when Maggie went to Canada to work as a nurse, while John carried out national service with the Royal Marines.

But Maggie never forgot her childhood sweetheart, who became a salesman and married twice before he was widowed four years ago. She never married.

The two of them made sure they stayed in touch over the years, rekindled their love in 2007, and revived their wedding plans. (ANI)

Blondes more likely to ruin first date than brunettes

London, May 29 (ANI): They are known for having the most fun – but when it comes to first dates, blondes are more likely to have their romantic hopes crushed than their dark-haired friends, a poll has found.

According to the study of 1,300 people, by Internet dating firm Parship.co.uk, flaxen-haired hopefuls are a quarter more likely to have their dreams of true love shattered within hours of meeting a new man than a brunette or redhead.

Apparently, blondes are the most likely of anyone to have tried to seduce a first date with recollections about an ex, seen their judgement impaired by drinking too much, and bed their date at the end of the night, reports The Telegraph.

Penny Conway, from the online dating firm, said: “Although it’s unlikely a person will behave differently simply because of their hair colour, they may act out of character if they are being treated badly, or according to a stereotype.

“In films blondes are often assumed as being clueless or as having more fun.

“How we are treated by other people can influence how we behave, so this may explain why blondes are more likely to behave badly compared to brunettes or red heads, or go home with their dates on the first night.”

From the study, the company found that misguided ideas of alluring behaviour – including turning up late, running away from a partner – was responsible for dampening any first flames of passion. (ANI)

Now, a mathematical model to tell if true love will last

London, Mar 26 (ANI): Couples wondering if their true love is heading for a lifetime of happiness have been provided with a mathematical test to find out if they are a match made in heaven.

Although, people say there’s no simple formula for a long-lasting relationship, boffins claim to have come up with a mathematical model which determines whether or not a relationship will succeed.

The calculations of Professor James Murray, a maths expert at Oxford University, were based on a 15-minute conversation between a couple.

In the study, the participants were asked to sit opposite each other and asked to talk about a contentious issue.

Each pair was told to talk about the same topic – one which they have been at loggerheads for some time – for 15 minutes.

The research team recorded the conversation and awarded the husband and wife positive or negative points depending on what was said.

The partner who showed affection, humour or happiness as they talked was given the maximum points, while those who displayed contempt or belligerence received the minimum.

From the analyses, Prof Murray, a Fellow of The Royal Society, said contempt was deemed more destructive than disgust, sadness or anger.

He said the scores of the wife and the husband were fed into the mathematical model and plotted onto a graph. The point at which the two lines meet illustrated the marriage’s chances of success or failure.

“I am still absolutely amazed that human emotions can be put into a mathematical model and that a prediction can be made,” The Telegraph quoted him, as saying.

“What astonished me was that a discussion, sometimes highly charged and emotional, could so easily and usefully be encapsulated in what is actually a simple model of a couple’s interaction.

“It is not so much of an equation, it is trying to assess and quantify how a couple interact by giving them a scoring system.

“We take those figures and plot them on to a graph. If either the husband or the wife is consistently negative then they are going to get a divorce,” he added.

According to Murray, married couples could be divided into five groups.

“Marriages can be classified into only five general types, some of which are stable and others not. Depending on the group, some couples might as well get divorced right away,” he said.

The first category is the “validating” couple who are calm, intimate, who like to back each other up and share a companionable relationship. The second group are the “avoiders” couple who do their best to eschew confrontation and conflict.

The “volatile” couple, who are romantic and passionate but have heated arguments are a mix of stable and unstable, but generally tend to be more unhappy than not. The “hostile” category is when one partner does not want to talk about an issue and the other agrees, so there is no communication.

The “hostile-detached” couple is where one is fiery and wanting to argue, while the other one is just not interested in discussing the issue. (ANI)
