Padma Lakshmi debuts 3-week-old daughter Krishna

Washington, Mar 13 (ANI): Padma Lakshmi has finally given the world a look of her 3-week-old daughter Krishna.

The Top Chef host, 39, was photographed doting on her little girl while sitting on a NYC park bench on Thursday.

However, the model-cum-TV presenter has not revealed the identity of her father.

Last October, it was revealed that Lakshmi was expecting.

Her rep had said that Lakshmi’s pregnancy was “a medical miracle,” because she has struggled with endometriosis—a painful uterine condition that can lead to infertility.

Lakshmi had earlier said that although she loved being pregnant, she never had any strange cravings.

“There was about a week-and-a- half when I was really craving a cinnamon donut. Then I had the cinnamon donut, and it was like, ”Eh.” I mean, it was OK, but that was it. And then it was over,” Us magazine quoted her as saying. (ANI)

Women chefs vie for top title in Bangalore

Bangalore, Sept 18 (ANI): A top chef competition was held here, wherein enthusiastic women contestants from all over the country showed their cooking skills.

However, at the end a team from New Delhi took away the coveted position of ‘Super Chef’. Lavanya and her teammate won the competition.

A total of six teams, each comprising of two persons, prepared a variety of dishes.

However, only two teams reached the finals and they were given forty-five minutes time each to cook a five-course meal with desserts.

The judges of the competition tasted each and every food and gave their ratings accordingly.

Impressed with the contestants’ cooking skills, J N Biswal, one of the judges of the competition said that they would include some of the dishes in his menu as well.

“It’s not only one particular team but in six teams, somebody’s dessert was good and somebody’s main course was good,” said Biswal.

“When the chef tasted rice platter and chicken hyderabadi, murgh chicken and pulao, this is very excellent, he said. Finally, we have won. I am really very happy,” said Lavanya, winner of the Super Chef competition.

The winners will get an opportunity to join the five star hotels as chef. (ANI)

Padma Lakshmi likes to sleep in the nude

Washington, April 14 (ANI): ‘Top Chef’ beauty Padma Lakshmi has revealed that she likes to sleep in the nude.

The Indian American, who has stripped down to her birthday suit for Allure, revealed in an accompanying magazine interview that she’s very confident about her body and likes to sleep in the buff when she’s on her own.

“I tend to sleep in the nude. I’m an innately tactile person and a very sensual-leaning woman. You have to use the word ‘leaning’ or it sounds like I’m boasting! When I’m in my own private space, I do spend time with very little on,” she told Allure.

When asked how did she prepare for the shoot, the beauty said: “I exercised a little bit extra, but I actually think I look better when I have a little bit of weight on-my breasts are fuller, and I’m curvier than when I’m at my thinnest.”

She added: “I like the way I look. I think I look better now than I did in my 20s, because I’m more confident about my body-and I don’t want to look like anyone but myself.”

Lakshmi along with E! talk show host Chelsea Handler, “Dollhouse” star Eliza Dushku and Lynn Collins stripped down to their skin for the May issue of Allure.

‘Runway’ lawsuit settled; show moving to Lifetime, 2nd Ld-Writethru

NEW YORK (AP) After months in limbo, “Project Runway” has a new home at Lifetime. The popular design-competition series that aired for five seasons on the Bravo network had been mired in a legal struggle involving NBC Universal, which owns Bravo, the Weinstein Co.

and the Lifetime channel. The dispute began last April when NBC Universal sued Weinstein after the production company made a reported $150 million deal with Lifetime for the series that features supermodel Heidi Klum as host.

The lawsuit has been settled. In a statement issued Wednesday, NBC Universal said Weinstein will pay the media company “for the right to move ‘Project Runway’ to Lifetime.

All parties are pleased with the outcome.’” The show’s sixth season which has already been taped will air this summer on the female-centric channel, said Lifetime CEO Andrea Wong.

In a statement, Wong called Lifetime “the perfect home” for the series. She said the network was “thrilled” to proceed with Klum, mentor Tim Gunn, and judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors.

“Project Runway” had been a huge success for Bravo. The sew-off show, which debuted in 2004, became water cooler TV in part because of its intense challenges and creative contestants with strong personalities that rivaled their daring designs.

The show jump-started Bravo’s evolution to the reality brand behind such addictive fare as “Top Chef,” ”Millionaire Matchmatcher” and the “Real Housewives” franchise. Bravo will air its new sartorial series “The Fashion Show,” with judges Isaac Mizrahi and Kelly Rowland, on May 7.

Last September, a New York Supreme Court justice issued a temporary injunction preventing Weinstein from taking “Runway” or any spinoff to Lifetime and contended that evidence showed that Weinstein violated NBC’s “right of first refusal” for the show. Weinstein has said there was no right of first refusal in the contract and that NBC Universal was offered the deal and was outbid.

UK chef Ramsay never played top-grade soccer

London, Mar.1 (ANI): Chef Gordon Ramsay has always relished boasting about his glory days as a budding soccer star with Glasgow Rangers, but a News of the World report reveals that he never “signed” up for the team and never played first team games for them, despite saying so on radio, in his autobiography and in a series of interviews.

In fact, he was such a liar, fellow cooks nicknamed him “Billy Bull***t”. He even secretly confessed to top chef Marco Pierre White that his Rangers career was boloney, adding: “But it just came out of my mouth and it was a good story at the time”.

Today, according to The Sun, that story is booted into touch for good.

Ramsay, 42, only got away with it, because no other newspaper managed to follow his trail of lies and piece together the truth.

Respected Rangers historian Robert McElroy was quoted as saying: “He (Ramsay) was never a signed player for us and certainly didn’t play any first team games and wasn’t offered any sort of contract-it’s all complete and utter nonsense.”

Legendary Rangers coach Archie Knox, who the chef blames for “dumping” him from the club, said: “He must be a very confused individual. I was the manager of Dundee at the time.” (ANI)
