Japan’s Toho Zinc extends offer for Australia’s CBH

June 29 (Reuters) – Japan’s Toho Zinc Ltd (5707.T) on Tuesday extended its takeover offer for Australian miner CBH Resources (CBH.AX) for seven days to July 14.

Nyrstar offers to improve bid for Australia’s CBH

SYDNEY, April 12 (Reuters) – The world’s biggest zinc producer, Belgium’s Nyrstar NV (NYR.BR), has proposed an improved offer for Australian zinc miner CBH Resources (CBH.AX), in an effort to muscle out rival bidder Japan’s Toho Zinc (5707.T).

Nyrstar has offered to buy out holders of CBH convertible notes at A$1,000 ($934) for each note, in addition to its offer of 19.5 cents per share, CBH said in a statement on Monday, adding that it had allowed Nyrstar to conduct due diligence. (Reporting by Mark Bendeich; Editing by Balazs Koranyi)

Toho Zinc H1 zinc output seen up 16.2 pct yr/yr

TOKYO, April 9 (Reuters) – Japan’s Toho Zinc Co Ltd (5707.T) said it plans to produce 56,981 tonnes of zinc in the April-September first half, up 16.2 percent from a year earlier.

Most Japanese smelters have kept a cautious outlook on their output plans due to uncertainty over demand as Japan’s economy is only gradually recovering from the worst economic downturn in decades that forced manufacturers to reduce production and led to a sharp decline in consumption of metals.
