London, Sept 18 (ANI): Uma Thurman is weighing up her options to move to Hollywood from her place in New York as she thinks staying away from the tinsel town is restricting her career growth.he 39-year-old mother of two has only done flicks shot in New York after her daughter Maya was born in 1998 so that she could be close to her kids.

However, the Kill Bill star is now seriously contemplating a shift as her children are older now.

The Daily Express quoted her as telling W magazine, “I am a mother, but I need to do what I’m good at doing. Even your kids need you to be who you are.

“I’ve been living at home for a long time. If I don’t leave soon, I’m going to literally choke my career to death.” (ANI)

Guy Ritchie ‘to remake classic musical Guys And Dolls’

London, May 27 (ANI): If rumours are to believed, Guy Ritchie is set to direct a remake of classic musical ‘Guys And Dolls’.

According to sources, Ritchie has been given the green light by studio bosses in tinsel town to embark on a casting mission to fill the roles of Sky Masterson and Nathan Detroit – played by screen legends Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra in the original.

“Guy has been on the case with the idea of making a musical recently,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“He had been throwing ideas around with Jason Statham about writing their own musical. They were joking that it would be a cross between Worzel Gummidge and Bullitt.

“Guy has had a lot of meetings with top studio bosses about other projects but the Guys And Dolls idea really tickled him.

“He is torn between keeping the script true to the original in New York and taking it to familiar surroundings in London,” the source added.

The 1955 film, based on the hit Broadway musical, was about a bloke who wanted to stay out with his pals every night gambling rather than spend time at home with his religious missus. (ANI)

Bollywood personalities cast their votes, urge people to join in numbers

Mumbai, Apr 30 (ANI): Leading personalities of the tinsel town of Bollywood queued up at various polling stations in Mumbai to cast their votes in the third phase of elections to the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

Ten parliamentary constituencies in Mumbai and Thane districts went to the polls today, which incidentally culminates the general elections in Maharashtra.

Among the stalwarts from Bollywood who came forth early to cast their votes were the successful director-cum-producer Karan Johar, Oscar award winning lyricist and filmmaker, Gulzar, actor Rahul Bose, John Abraham, Amrita Rao, Paresh Rawal and legendary actors such as Prem Chopra and Rishi Kapoor.

Director Karan Johar was of the view that the citizens should collectively take the country forward by electing the right candidates as their representatives.

“We teach everyone to go up there and cast their votes for a better tomorrow in the country. Over and above we are on our way of being a very fast developing nation and I think there may be some road blocks but we can still achieve that goal and I think with the right people at the helm of things, we will take India forward,” said Karan Johar, ace Bollywood director-cum-producer.

Actor Rahul Bose, who exercised his electoral franchise at a polling booth in the Peddar Road area of south Mumbai, said that whosoever comes to power, he/she should treat all ‘Mumbaikers’ (residents of Mumbai) equally.

Indeed, it was a taunting remark at several fundamentalists like the Thackerays who have been spitting venom at non-Maharashtrians.

“We look for candidates who will look at the very rich and the very poor equally – that for me is a big thing. A sense of inclusiveness – not Maharashtra, non-Maharashtrian, not someone from north India, non-north Indian; a sense of inclusiveness including for women, safety for women and a sense of compassion,” said Bose.

“The fact that at the end of the day is that we are all one city and whether it’s a flood or bomb blasts, ultimately we have to be treated like one city. That’s the most important thing,” observed actor Rahul Bose.

Actor John Abraham urged the young electorates to come out and exercise their adult franchise.

“All I want to say to the youngsters is that they should come out and cast their votes. Please come out and vote,” said John Abraham.

The constituencies where polling took place today were Mumbai North, Mumbai North-East, Mumbai North-West, Mumbai North-Central, Mumbai South-Central, Mumbai South; Thane, Kalyan, Bhiwandi and Palghar. By Parihash Hate (ANI)

Washington, Apr 11 (ANI): Tinsel town is full of on and off relationships where stars fail to decide whether they want to be with each other or not, and thus keep on getting back together, only to split up again.

With Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson calling it quits one more time, one is reminded of stars couples – like Jennifer Aniston-John Mayer, Drew Barrymore-Justin Long, and Kate Moss-Pete Doherty – who apparently fail to decide whether they want to be with or without each other, reports Fox News

Im Certainly Not Pregnant, Says Malaika Arora Khan

The buzz that doing rounds in the tinsel town is that Malaika Arora Khan is pregnant.

When the lady walked the ramp for Vikram Chatwal’s Mai Mumbai show at LFW, with bulging bump, the news about her pregnancy news ran so strong.

The news spread like a fire in the jungle that finally Malaika had to step forward to disprove the news of her pregnancy.

Im certainly not pregnant. The rumours are not true. It’s annoying. I wish someone had checked with me before announcing this to the world, said Malaika quite emphatically, adding she did not know how the rumour started.

The svelte TV host gave good reason for her weight gain by saying, I eat fried foods, I eat sweets, I eat everything, but I know my limitations and I know when to stop and I know when I have to hit the gym. When I have to be a certain way, Its only mind over matter.

She also said that shes taking a break till June.

“I’ll start working on two projects after June.”

Apart from that, the actress also said that she is ready with her fashion line, and waiting for the right time to launch it.

I’m waiting for the recession to get over,” she said.

Malaika is happily married to actor Arbaaz Khan and her relationship is going strong. They are blessed with six years old son, Arhaan.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ Ready To Hit Chinese Theatres On March 26

The multiple Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire is ready to hit Chinese theatres on March 26.

Lots of films produced in the tinsel town fail to benefit from the propering Chinese cinema market due to the annual quota, and others are thrown out by the censor board.

Chinese censors are cautious of uncomplimentary delineations of the country and its public, explicit sex and aggression and receptive topics including Tibet.

However, “Slumdog Millionaire” cleared Chinese censors without problems.

Slumdog Millionaire is one of the 20 major foreign movies that the China will import this year.

Director Danny Boyle will be present at the British movie’s premiere in Beijing next Wednesday, with the film going on general release in at least 2,000 movie houses across China.

According to estimations, Slumdog came second at the international box office after its Oscar wins, behind Warner Bros’ ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’.’

The story about an 18-year-old slum boy has won eight Oscars out of the 10 categories it was nominated for.

The film’s artistic value has already been shown by the Oscars.

Its theme is optimistic, strong and inspiring.

Kylie Minogue scientifically proven to have best bum

London, Mar 4 (ANI): Kylie Minogue is known to have the best posterior in tinsel town, and now it has even been proven scientifically.

Dr. David Holmes, a psychologist, has come up with a formula to find out what makes Kylie’s backside so bootylicious, and discover which celebs have got those great curves.

His calculations include scores for shape (S), circularity or roundness (C), bounciness (B), firmness (F), and texture or cellulite (T).

The formula also takes into account a factor called V, which is a woman’s hips/waist ratio- the bigger the hips in proportion to the waist, the curvier a woman appears.

And the magic formula is (S+C) x (B + F)/(T – V), which, if gives a score of 80, you’re looking at a perfect bum.

Aussie singer Kylie Minogue has turned out to be the only lady to have achieved that cracking score.

“Kylie would score amazingly well on sphericality and symmetry,” the Daily star quoted Holmes as saying.

He added: “Her bum is pretty much perfect in these areas – even more so than the likes of Kelly who works out at 74.”

Other Hollywood beauties on which the formula was applied were Jo Guest who scored 64, Chanelle Hayes with 76, Lily Allen with 70, and Lucy Pinder with 62. (ANI)
