Australia’s Next Top Model accused of promoting super slim models

Melbourne, May 14 (ANI): Australia’s Next Top Model producers are under fire for allegedly promoting size-zero figures amongst young girls.

One of the contestants, Alison Boxer, 16, weighs 55 kilos, and has been told by the judges to lose centimetres off her thighs – in spite of being underweight.

“It was a shock to the system to be told I needed to lose weight,” News.com.au quoted Alison as saying.

“At home a lot of people say I”m too skinny. I was 50kg at one stage, which I thought was a bit scary.

“So I was coming from a place where people were telling me to gain weight, to now people saying I should lose weight.

“I have never tried to lose weight before, but since then I have been going to the gym twice a day and eating in proportion to try to lose the weight,” she said.

Model agent and show scout Lizzi Leighton Clark said that although they weren’t looking for any particular body types, “at the end of the day you have to be tall and skinny to be a model”.

“Hopefully, we have a range of body shapes, faces and personalities, but tall and slim is what works,” she said.

Eating Disorders Victoria spokeswoman Megan O”Connor, however, has criticized the show for promoting the zero size image as “in”, creating impressions on young girls.

“Most people would look at her and see a particularly attractive young woman, yet it is suggested she lose further weight, and it is not attainable,” O”Connor said.

She added: “We would prefer the show to promote diversity of body shape rather than assume a model needs to look super skinny.” (ANI)

Now, ”miracle jeans’ to make you look 5kg lighter

Melbourne, Mar 22 (ANI): Here’s an instant solution to look 5 kg lighter—grab a pair of “miracle jeans”.

Available at 260 dollars in Australia, the jeans, inspired by shapewear undergarments, promise to shape and firm the body.

When put to test, the jeans, created by the makers of slimming swimsuit brand Miraclesuit, received mixed reactions and there was no evidence they actually worked to reduce the size of thighs or stomach.

Harbord mother of two Jessica MacDonald, 27, said the jeans made her feel secure – no muffin top in sight – but she did not feel any thinner than in her own jeans.

“They flattened your bum a little bit, which I guess is the point, but the ones I own are ClintonCharlie BootyHuggers, which kind of lift your bum a little, which is why I bought them,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

Miraclebody creator Jay Feigenbaum said the jeans were designed for women who had concerns about post-baby stomach flab and excess weight around their waists.

“It”s not going to make things disappear, but it stops things jiggling and moving around,” he said. (ANI)

Jennifer Aniston keeps fit by running around horse track

Washington, September 20 (ANI): Jennifer Aniston has been running hard to maintain her fitness while shooting new film ‘The Bounty.’

The actress reportedly woke up at 5a.m in the morning and ran laps around New Jersey’s Monmouth Park racecourse to the surprise of the crewmembers.

“She showed up every morning at 5am to run laps on the giant oval for a solid hour before cameras rolled,” Contactmusic quoted a source as saying.

“She’s really disciplined about keeping fit. She’d get there before everyone else and zip around that huge track like a winner!” the source added.

The ‘Break-Up’ star apparently prefers running to other fitness regimes as it keeps her thighs and calves toned.

Even earlier this year, it was reported that she woke up at 3am to work out so that she could stick to her busy shooting schedule.

A source said at the time: “Jennifer has had a totally overhaul for this film. She wants to be seriously fit, yet remain curvy.

“There are a lot of early starts on set, so she has had to get up at 3am to get two hours in the gym before getting ready for filming.” (ANI)

‘Two for one’ breast boosting technique not as viable as it seems

London, Sep 16 (ANI): A technology that was claimed as the ultimate solution to give a boost to women’s breasts by using fat removed from thighs is not viable as it seems, say experts.

Mel Graham, chairman of the Harley Medical Group, recently claimed that the “two for one” procedure could extract excess fat from where it was not wanted – the belly, hips or thighs – and relocate it to the bust.

However, rival cosmetic surgeons criticised the “hype” surrounding the new operation, insisting that it was “premature”.

“(This) is setting consumers up for disappointment and there are many reasons for vigilance,” the Independent quoted Dai Davies, of Plastic Surgery Partners in Harley Street, as saying.

He said that doctors have long been experimenting with innumerable aids to give women larger busts, including using body fat as a procedure.

The technique of removing fat by liposuction, and then injecting it into the chest has been tried for almost 20 years but with limited success, said Davies.

“Where you are injecting small amounts of fat into the face, which has a good blood supply, there is good evidence that it works. Most plastic surgeons would agree there is a place for it. But this involves injecting a large blob of fat into the breast area. Fat consists of living cells and living cells must have a blood supply, otherwise they die,” he explained.

In a Japanese study last year, 230 women underwent fat transfer, and it was found that, on average, half the fat injected was lost and all the women needed a second procedure after a year.

There are also fears that dying fat cells could cause micro-calcification in the breast leading to difficulties in breast screening and an increase in biopsies – an invasive procedure to remove tissue to check for cancer.

“I don’t think we should be a testing ground for all these techniques. You are feeding on a susceptible group of people. There should be controls but, sadly, the Government has decided it won’t implement regulation,” said Davies.

Professor David Sharpe, a plastic surgeon in Yorkshire and the founding chairman of the breast special interest group of BAAPS, said: “This sounds like another example of creative marketing. Breast implants are a well-tried and tested method. At the moment, I would stick with that.”

Mel Braham, chairman of the Harley Medical Group, said results of a US trial to be presented next month would demonstrate the success of the operation.

“The results will be assessed by our medical board and, if approved, the operation will be introduced next year. I don’t take risks with patients. I am confident this is a safe procedure,” he said. (ANI)

‘Two-in-one’ boob job uses unwanted body fat

London, Sep 14 (ANI): Here’s some news that will bring double joy to women: a “two in one” boob job technique that uses unwanted fat from other parts of the body has been developed.

The breast enlargement operation takes excess fat from the thighs and stomach and moves it to the bust.

The pioneering technique has been tested in Britain and the U.S. and is expected to be offered to British women by early next year.

And it is believed that the effects are “astounding”, resulting in larger breasts that look and feel just like normal as no implant has been introduced into the body.

Experts have predicted that the procedure, which might cost around 8,000 pounds, will eventually overtake implants to dominate the cosmetic surgery market.

According to the Harley Medical Group, the technique has originated from reconstructive surgery and was tested in Britain after a 10-year study on global developments in fat grafting.

They said that the results experienced by patients in the US and UK, who had the procedure four or five years ago, have shown that the effects are lasting.

Two of the Harley Medical Group’s surgeons have now been trained in the procedure in the US, while eight more surgeons are set to join them before the end of this year.

“This is the most exciting breakthrough in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery that I have seen over the last two decades,” The Daily Express quoted chairman Mel Braham as saying.

“Following some final reviews by our medical board, we should be in a position to launch this procedure in the UK early next year,” Braham added.

Dr Zdenek Pros, a consultant surgeon trained in the procedure, said: “This type of augmentation technique is very effective in enabling surgeons to shape the breast and achieve smooth, natural-looking contours.” (ANI)

Pregnant Heidi Klum bares bum for sexy mag shoot

London, September 13 (ANI): Heidi Klum has left many jaws hanging in the air after baring her bottom for a magazine picture shoot.

The Victoria’s Secret model, who is expecting her fourth child next month, sported a tiny backless snakeskin dress while posing for the camera.

“She might be a mum of three already but Heidi has still got it. Men go wild for her,” News of the World quoted an insider at the photo session, for the New York Post’s Page Six Magazine, as saying.

But the 36-year-old German, married to British singer Seal, may disagree with the suggested popular opinion.

Klum previously said: “The last month (of pregnancy) is unbelievable, how rapidly your stomach goes. It’s huge. The thighs, the butt – everything explodes.” (ANI)

Mum-to-be Heidi Klum says her “thighs, butt” have exploded

Washington, Sept 9 (ANI): Mum-to-be Heidi Klum believes the last month of pregnancy is the worst, as the body seems to explode.

The German model is due to give birth to her fourth child in October.

“The last month is unbelievable, how rapidly your stomach goes. It’s huge,” Usmagazine quoted Klum as telling Page Six.

“The thighs, the butt-everything explodes in the end,” she added.

The Victoria Secret’s beauty insists that she’ll regain her pre-baby body after giving birth.

“It’s bizarre. Just as it’s a miracle that you can grow a human being in your belly, it’s a miracle that your body goes back to normal again,” she said.

“I don’t think you ever get back to exactly the way you were, but you do get close. And I’m happy with that. Especially when you see your kid for the first time,” she added. (ANI)

Serena Williams thinks her thighs and arms are “too muscular”

Washington, Aug 28 (ANI): Tennis star Serena Williams has confessed that she thinks her thighs and arms are “too muscular”.

Talking to the People magazine, Serena gave her views on feminine beauty.

She said: “I want women to know that it’s okay. You can be whatever size you are, and you can be beautiful both inside and out. We’re always told what’s beautiful and what’s not, and that’s not right.”

When asked about the constant comments on her weight, Serena said it was a trifling issue and didn’t need so much public attention.

The 27-year-old Williams said: “Yes. For some reason, everyone is obsessed with weight. Are you bigger? Are you smaller? And everyone cares about that! It’s insane. Some days, I’ll be bigger. Other days, I’ll be smaller. It’s not a big deal.”

Serena admitted to being insecure about her body and said: “I think every female does that. We think we look good one day, and then the next day – or the next minute – we’re insecure about something. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and am like, ‘I want to lose my inner thigh. I’ve got to do an hour of cardio today,’ or whatever. I try not to do it, but the insecurity comes back sometimes. I do want to look good still; I do want to be healthy.”

Asked about the parts of her body that troubled her she said: “My thighs. I think they’re too big. But also my arms. I think they’re too muscular. They’re too thick.” (ANI)

Jacqueline O lured Marlon Brando for two steamy nights of sex, claims new book

New York, June 25 (ANI): A new book has claimed that Hollywood biggie Marlon Brando enjoyed two nights of passionate sex with Jacqueline Kennedy.

What’s more, in “Bobby and Jackie: A Love Story” C. David Heymann has claimed that Brando wanted to bare the intimate details to the world.

In the explosive tome, which details a purported post-JFK assassination affair between Jackie and Robert F. Kennedy, Heymann has obtained passages from Brando’s account of how he hooked up with Jackie in 1964.

They were in the first draft of the Oscar winner’s 1994 memoir, “Songs My Mother Taught Me,” until an editor friend of Jackie at Random House insisted they be cut, Heymann claims, reports The New York Post.

Heymann writes, “according to Brando, [their] three-hour meal included a good deal of drinking . . . Jackie and the actor danced and drank. During their dance, Jackie, deeply attracted to Brando, ‘pressed her thighs’ suggestively into his. They danced again, then sat down and began to ‘make out,’ “

He relates: “In Brando’s words, ‘From all I’d read and heard about her, Jacqueline Kennedy seemed coquettish and sensual but not particularly sexual. If anything, I pictured her as more voyeur than player. But that wasn’t the case.

” ‘She kept waiting for me to try to get her into bed. When I failed to make a move, she took matters into her own hands and popped the magic question. ‘Would you like to spend the night?’ And I said, ‘I thought you’d never ask.’”

The draft also has the movie star comment on Jaquelines’s physicality talking about her “boyish hips” and “muscular frame.”

Brando also wrote: “I’m not sure she knew what she was doing sexually, but she did it well.”

However, according to Heymannm, the relationship lasted for a short while after which Jaqueline “Having twice consummated her relationship with Brando, Jackie showed no interest in pursuing him further.”

The book is expected to be out soon. (ANI)

Another woman claims being paid to attend Belusconi’s parties

London, June 22 (ANI): Silvio Berlusconi has been dragged into further controversy after another woman claimed that she was paid to attend the Italian Prime Minister’s parties.

Model Barbara Montereale said that Berlusconi gave her 10,000 euros “as a present” after attending one of his parties at Villa Certosa.

She was also paid an attendance fee of 1,000 euros from a hostess service, allegedly operated by a local businessman named Giampaolo Tarantini.

Patrizia D’Addario, an escort girl and a former actress, had revealed last week that 72-year-old Berlusconi bedded her in November 2008.

Montereale said that she first met Berlusconi when she attended a dinner at Palazzo Grazioli, his residence in Rome, in November.

She was among the three women-including D’Addario and Lucia Rossini-who had been questioned by prosecutors.

Montereale also said that Patrizia had told her that she had sex with the media tycoon-turned-politician.

“Everyone at the dinner knew Patrizia was an escort,” Times Online quoted her as saying.

“I was meant to be sharing a room with Patrizia at the hotel that night. I slept there alone. When she came back at 8am she told me she had been to bed with him [Berlusconi] but that he hadn’t paid her because she had asked for a favour instead,” she added.

However, Montereale said that she was not an escort girl.

“My nickname is long thighs. I am not an escort. I am an image girl, a hostess. Appearing at nightclubs, parties, chatting with clients,” she said. (ANI)

9 out of 10 Aussie women ‘think they are fat’

Melbourne, May 4 (ANI): Girls just can’t stop panicking about their weight, at least that’s what a new Australian survey has found – nine out of 10 women Down Under have regular “fat days” and most are miserable about their bodies.

The survey, by Melbourne’s RMIT and La Trobe universities, found that over two-thirds of women feel uncomfortable looking at themselves in the shower.

Nearly fifty percent feel fat every day and desperately want to lose weight, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Almost one third of women surveyed were trapped in a “vicious cycle” of repeatedly checking their stomach, thighs and buttocks to see how much they could let themselves eat.

And the survey’s principal investigator Adrian Schembri has said that such an attitude has made them anxious and distressed.

Only one in 10 women, who participated in the continuing online survey, showed no dissatisfaction with their weight.

The study comes as young girls are now being given lessons on body image in the hope that it may save them from developing eating disorders such as anorexia.

Called ‘BodyThink’ classes, the girls are taught to boost their self-esteem and bolster their confidence by learning to love their bodies. (ANI)

Soon, stem cell therapy to make boobs big, waists small

London, Mar 29 (ANI): British scientists are on their way to provide double bonanza to women looking for boob-jobs: a stem cell therapy that offers “natural” breast enlargement – and cuts stomach or thigh fat in the process.

The treatment, which can enhance cup size, involves extracting stem cells from spare fat on the stomach or thighs and growing them in a woman’s breasts.

In the “scientific” boob-job process, cells will be isolated from a woman’s spare fat using equipment owned by GE Healthcare, a technology company. The concentrated stem cells will then be mixed with another batch of fat before being injected into the breast. It takes several months for the breast to achieve the desired size and shape.

In the UK, a trial has already begun which uses stem cells to repair the breasts of women who have had cancerous lumps removed. A separate project is understood to be the first in Britain to use the new technique on healthy women seeking breast enlargement.

Professor Kefah Mokbel, a consultant breast surgeon at the London Breast Institute at the Princess Grace hospital, who is in charge of the project, said: “This is a very exciting advance in breast surgery.”

“They [breasts treated with stem cells] feel more natural because this tissue has the same softness as the rest of the breast,” The Times quoted him, as adding.

According to Mokbel, the stem cell treatment, which will bring smile to many faces, may be suitable only for modest increases in breast size.

“We are optimistic we can easily achieve an increase of one cup size. We cannot say yet if we can achieve more. That may depend on the stem cells we can harvest,” he said. (ANI)
