Freddie out for dinner with missus and family after Ashes victory

London, Aug.24 (ANI): England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who is to go under the knife on Tuesday, will take his wife Rachael, parents and kids out for dinner, to celebrate the return of the Ashes with the 197-run victory over Australia at The Oval.

“I will take the missus out for dinner and spend the day with my family. But I’ll be ‘nil by mouth’ after midnight on Monday because of the operation,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.

Freddie hurled and hugged his son Corey and sister Holly, five, after the win, while Rachael brought one-year-old son Rocky down from the stands.

Freddie’s emotional dad Colin, 57, joined the wild celebrations, shedding tears of joy as he enjoyed the magical moment. The star’s proud mum Susan also came over to give him a hug.

Fred, who will have an operation to fix a knee injury tomorrow, said: “This is a special moment. I was nearly in tears when I saw my Mum up there. It’s like a dream, quite surreal at the moment. I don’t know what to do with myself.”

The Lancashire hero admitted he would not be repeating the boozy antics which saw him in a near-daze as he celebrated England’s last Ashes triumph in 2005.

The party mood spread nationwide last night among thrilled fans who’d seen England thump fierce rivals Australia to win the fifth and deciding Test by 197 runs.

The resounding victory ensured they clinched the summer series 2-1 and reclaimed the coveted Ashes urn they lost Down Under in 2006.

Captain Andrew Strauss said: “The guys have done amazingly. When we were bad we were very bad, and when we were good, we managed to be good enough.”

The squad headed straight from the pitch to the players’ lounge for a post-match party.

A security guard revealed two more crates of booze had to be sent in early in the evening after the stars nearly drank the bar dry.

The England squad left the Oval in a convoy of taxis just after 11 p.m. to continue their celebrations at their East London hotel.

Fans partied in pubs around the ground – many draped in England flags. England and Aussie supporters drank side by side. Downing Street also saluted the squad last night.

A spokesman said: “The Prime Minister will be writing to congratulate them on their exhilarating victory.”

London Mayor Boris Johnson, called England’s win an “incredible triumph”.

Even gutted Australians praised England in defeat. Tim Hussey, 28, from Melbourne, said: “It was an epic series. And I’m pleased Freddie went out with a bang.” (ANI)

London, June 22 (ANI): Susan Boyle has apparently regained her form, for she recently gave a stunning performance in London, as part of the ongoing Britain’s Got Talent tour.

The show’s runner-up previously pulled out of concerts in Manchester, Liverpool and two in Nottingham citing exhaustion.

But the singing sensation returned to claim her place in the hearts of the crowd at Wembley Arena, reports the Daily Star.

Susan has been under the careful eye of show bosses since her four-day stint in a rehab clinic after facing defeat in the finals of the talent competition.

Cowell admits Boyle’s rise to fame could have been handled differently

London, June 21 (ANI): Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell has confessed that Susan Boyle’s phenomenal rise to fame and her subsequent emotional breakdowns could have been handled differently.

The show judge said show organisers could have been more careful in addressing Susan’s problems after she became an overnight star with her jaw dropping performance of her audition song.

“Looking back on it all, it has become clear to me that we didn’t handle the situation with Susan as well as we could have,” the Scotsman quoted him as saying.

“Yet, to be honest, I don’t know that I could have done it any differently,” he added.

Simon’s comments came as the show’s runner-up missed more live BGT concerts.

Susan sparked health concerns after a four-day stint at a rehab clinic following exhaustion after facing defeat in the show’s finals.

The 48-year-old later returned onstage and has been wooing fans with her live performances. (ANI)

Susan Boyle to defy pressure, fight it out in Britain’s Got Talent final

London, May 30 (ANI): Susan Boyle is determined to beat the pressure and perform in the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, insisting she would not let go of her dream to bag the title.

Susan had been struggling to handle the attention after turning into an overnight celebrity with her jaw-dropping performance of the song ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ on the talent show, followed by her stunning version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats song Memory in the semi-finals.

Judge Piers Morgan had revealed the singing sensation, 48, had thought of packing her bags and quitting the show following excessive media criticism.

But the Scottish church singer is set to defy the pressure and put up a fierce battle to bring home the title and the 100,000-pound prize money.

“This is my moment, it’s all that I’ve dreamed of,” the Sun quoted Susan as saying.

She added: “I want nothing more than to stay and sing in the final. I’ve spent weeks rehearsing, it’s all I’ve been thinking about. I’m not going to throw away my big chance now.”

Judge Amanda Holden also backed Susan, who has won fans all over the world including US President Barack Obama and Hollywood couple Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

Amanda said: “She did have her bags packed at one stage, because she was so sad and upset. She’s under a lot of pressure.”

But she added: “Susan will definitely be in the final and she’ll do a great job.”

Susan, the red-hot favourite to win the show, gathered a record 200million hits on YouTube, has been interviewed by US chat queen Oprah Winfrey, had name checks on cartoon shows The Simpsons and South Park, been invited to meet Obama and has even had a doll modelled after her. (ANI)

Distraught Susan Boyle shifted to ‘safe house’

London, May 30 (ANI): Susan Boyle has reportedly been shifted to a safe house as she prepares to perform in the Britain’s Got Talent finals.

Judge Piers Morgan revealed the Scottish church singer, 48, had thought of packing her bags and quitting the talent show following excessive media criticism.

Morgan said the singing sensation had become “distraught” and was presently spending time with one of her closest friends to beat the pressure.

“She had a rocky moment a couple of days ago when she woke up and saw some very negative headlines and suddenly felt the pressure of world attention,” The BBC quoted Morgan as saying on Radio 5 Live’s Victoria Derbyshire show.

“You have to remember this is someone who has gone from complete anonymity to global stardom in the space of six weeks.

“It’s understandable. People should give her a bit of slack. She’s 24 hours from the biggest day of her life and she’s starting to feel the heat,” he added.

Morgan also revealed that Susan, who shot to overnight stardom with her jaw-dropping performance of the Les Miserables song ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ on the show, had been struggling to cope with the pressure.

He added: “She is very distraught, to the extent where she packed her bags and was going to leave the show. She just didn’t see the point of continuing if every time she picked up the newspapers there was another avalanche of abuse.” (ANI)

‘Frightened rabbit’ Susan Boyle ‘considered quitting’ Britain’s Got Talent’

London, May 29 (ANI): The pressure of global fame is taking a toll on Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle, according to judge Piers Morgan.

Writing on his Internet blog Morgan said that the Scottish singing sensation has been in “floods of tears” this week and suffering from almost crippling nerves.

Morgan also revealed that Boyle even considered quitting the show.

He said that reading bitchy comments about her following the ‘four word rant’ incident had made him feel “very, very angry”.

“Susan is finding it very, very difficult to cope, and to stay calm,” the Telegraph quoted him as stating on the blog.

“She has been in tears many times during the last few days, and even, fleetingly, felt like quitting the show altogether at one point and fleeing all the attention.

“She’s had to read stories and columns, and listen to radio and TV phone-ins, calling her arrogant, insincere, spoiled, fake, mad and so on.

“Now, I have been called all that and worse in my career, but I spent 20 years in Fleet Street and know how to deal with it.

“Susan Boyle has never experienced anything like this and is like a frightened rabbit in headlights,” he added. (ANI)

Angry Susan Boyle rants four-letter words after strangers ‘wind her up’

London, May 28 (ANI): Britain’s Got Talent finalist Susan Boyle flared up before hundreds of hotel guests after two strangers set out to “wind her up”.

The singing sensation was said to have blew her temper with two four-letter outbursts in a day while staying at the Wembley Plaza Hotel in North London.

Cops were involved after the 48-year-old lost her cool in the lobby after being approached by two strangers, who a BGT spokesman said had been “trying to wind her up”.

“How f***ing dare you! You can’t f***ing talk to me like that,” the Sun quoted her as being heard.

And when one of two officers stationed at the hotel went up and asked: “Is there a problem?”

Susan raged: “Of course there’s a f***ing problem.”

The amateur singer then reportedly stormed out followed by her family, production staff and the cops, who later spoke to her for some time.

One officer allegedly said: “You are in the public eye, you must learn to expect this sort of thing.”

And a pal of Susan’s told her: “You can’t act like this.”

One onlooker added: “It took her a long time to calm down from whatever upset her. She was breathing heavily and in a terrible rage.

“The pressure is obviously getting to Susan. Perhaps all the fame is too much for her.”

“She hasn’t had time to meet a man. She’s had the world camped out on her doorstep and she’s been practising hard,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“She is determined to show she’s more than a 90-second audition and a YouTube clip. She’ll have plenty of time for men after the show ends,” the source added.

Surrogate baby is born in India to a British couple every 48 hours

London, May 21 (ANI): A surrogate baby is born in India to a British couple every 48 hours, it was revealed yesterday.

An investigation has exposed the full extent of India’s surrogacy baby boom driven by demand from childless Westerners.

One British couple who took advantage of India’s “baby factories” have told of their joy at having twins through a surrogate.

Louis and Freya are the genetic offspring of Chris Morrison, 40, and his wife Susan, 37, but were carried by a Gujarati housewife.

Their case is expected to encourage thousands of childless couples to use Indian surrogates.

Dr Anita Soni, an obstetrician at a top Mumbai hospital, said: “I deliver babies from Indian women for British couples at the rate of more than 15 a month.”

Dr Soni spoke minutes before entering the delivery room at the state-of-the-art Dr LH Hiranandani Hospital. (ANI)

“I’ve just tidied up a bit like any woman would,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

Susan may soon become the world’s biggest internet star since the overnight star’s debut performance had already gathered 186million hits on You Tube, making it the fifth most watched video.

Apparently the BGT bosses are also concerned the Scots rivals might think it would give her an unfair advantage, as up to 10 million viewers are expected to tune in to the show.

The show will also feature acts from some of the 40 countries where the show is filmed, including the runners up from last years BGT, Signature.

Even Simon Cowell will be grilled by Oprah about the show’s global appeal.

London, May 5 (ANI): Britain’s Got Talent’s singing sensation Susan Boyle has had to change her phone number following her fame, which has kept her from getting a good night’s sleep.

Boyle, 48, who was in the phonebook in the small town of Blackburn, West Lothian, kept on getting calls from fans around the world, and when she was given a mobile by telly bosses, she was too nervous about using it.

“The past month has been manic and her house phone has been red hot,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“Because Susan has become an international star, she was getting calls in the middle of the night.

“Now she has a number which only relatives, close friends and producers from the show have.

“It’s fair to say Susan is a bit of a technophobe – she’s never even used the Internet.

“Show producers have told her to use a mobile but she doesn’t have a clue how to, so never has it on,” the source added. (ANI)
