A-Rod wants Cameron Diaz to stay away from Yankee games

New York, May 12 (ANI): Professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez has opted not to have actress Cameron Diaz around at his games this summer.

According to BettyConfidential.com, A-Rod, 34, does not want Diaz, 37, to be a permanent fixture in the stands during his games, much like what ex Kate Hudson did during their relationship.

“He doesn’t want what happened to him and Kate to happen between him and Cameron,” the New York Daily News quoted a source as saying.

“Kate was at every New York game and then some and even went to Alex’s game practice. Things got too clingy too fast,” the source revealed.

Rodriguez, who ended a 13-year relationship with his ex-wife in 2008, is said to have been put off by Hudson trying to fast track their six-month relationship, which ended in December.

He reportedly began dating Diaz after a flirty night out in February during Super Bowl weekend in Miami, and both have since then kept a low profile about their relationship. (ANI)

‘Wardrobe malfunction’ fine to be reconsidered

PHILADELPHIA — A federal appeals court will re-examine the FCC fine it threw out against CBS over Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show.

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia on Tuesday will consider whether the FCC’s $550,000 fine for the broadcaster over the breast-baring performance is permissible.

The U.S. Supreme Court last year directed the lower court to consider reinstating the fine, following a ruling in another case that said the FCC could threaten fines even for fleeting profanity.

The lower court threw out the fine in 2008, saying the FCC acted arbitrarily and capriciously in issuing the fine for the half-second of nudity.

Brit models super bowl for Obama’s pooch on the White House

London, May 29 (ANI): A 41-year-old Brit has created a super bowl for U.S. President Barack Obama’s pet Bo.

Natalie, of Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, crafted the special dog’s bowl at the President’s request.

She was stunned when Obama made an order for the bowl.

Natalie did have a reason to be surprised after the world’s most powerful man ordered one of her non-spill dishes: her idea was earlier rejected by telly’s Dragons’ Den.

She modelled the special dog’s bowl on the White House, and added the name of Obama’s Portuguese waterdog in diamante.

Natalie has won 1million pounds of US sales since the BBC tycoons sent her packing in 2008.

“Dragons you were wrong,” the Sun quoted her as saying. (ANI)

Janet Jackson ‘wardrobe malfunction’ fine may be reinstated after Supreme Court’s order

London, May 5 (ANI): The US Supreme Court has ordered a re-examination of an appellate court’s decision to quash a fine over Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” during 2004′s Super Bowl.

It was in July last year that the appellate court ruled that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) acted “arbitrarily” in fining CBS TV 550,000 dollars in September 2004, for airing the glimpse of Jackson’s breast during the broadcast.

As many as 90 million viewers are said to have seen the incident during the half time show.

The malfunction happened while Jackson was performing alongside Justin Timberlake, who reached for her bra.

Broadcaster CBS received around 542,000 complaints regarding the malfunction.

However, the 3rd US Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia has now been directed to consider reinstating the fine imposed by the FCC.

The order comes after a high court ruling last week that upheld the FCC’s policy that subjects broadcasters to fines against even single uses of swear words on live television, reports the BBC.

That ruling will be reviewed in view of the Supreme Court’s order in the case. (ANI)

Obama’s inaugural parade tickets sell out in less than a minute

Washington, January 10 (ANI): Tickets to watch U.S. President-elect Barack Obama’s inaugural parade along Pennsylvania Avenue are selling like hot cakes, as thousands of them were sold out in less than a minute on Friday

Soon afterwards, many people offered to resell them on various Web sites.

Blogger Dcist has revealed that tickets went on sale at 1 p.m. and were no longer available at 1:01 p.m.

“Did anyone actually manage to score any?” the Washington Times quoted the blogger as saying.

On behalf of the Presidential Inaugural Committee, 5,000 tickets were sold for just 25 dollars each. One person could buy four tickets at the most.

It is believed that Obama’s inauguration may be the most attended presidential inaguration celebration since Lyndon B. Johnson drew 1.5 million people in January 1965.

Many of those lucky to be able to buy the tickets are offering them for sale on Craigslist.org.

“I am looking for 2,000 dollars for the set or best offer, and I can also split these tickets up. All reasonable offers are accepted,” wrote one of the sellers offering four tickets.

Ads on the website suggest that some people are even ready to trade their Super Bowl tickets for the parade tickets.

The offers to resell the tickets have come to the fore despite scalping being illegal in the District, and carrying a fine of 50 dollars.

Emmett S. Beliveau, executive director of the inaugural committee, said that the tickets were to be make available to the public “as part of our commitment to holding the most open and accessible inauguration in history.”

“The inaurgural parade is a celebration of America, and we are making sure that as many citizens as possible can take part in this historic tradition,” Beliveau said. (ANI)
