“I don”t know what I”m going to do next. I”ve got a few months off – I”m getting married – but now I”m being more selective with what I”m going to do.” Arterton said.

“I always thought I was going to end up an old spinster, with my cats and my fur coats. It just takes you by surprise. It was absolutely instant. I remember going home the night after I met him and writing in my diary, ”I”ve met the man I”m going to marry”. I gave that diary entry to him for his birthday two weeks later. Scottish man sets new world by running 259 ft with body set on fire

London, July 06 (ANI): A Scottish man slammed the previous world record of running 227ft with body set on fire by sprinting 259 ft.

Keith Malcolm, from Aberdeen, succeeded in his second attempt to break the record after he fell 40ft short of the record in his previous attempt in May.

The amateur stuntman, who now lives in Widley near Portsmouth, Hants, wore eight layers of protective clothing, including four layers of fireproof undergarments, a Formula One fireproof jacket and three overalls to avoid any harm.
He protected his head with three fire hoods and a helmet apart from coating himself in special protective “stunt gel” to save himself from flames that approximately reached 1000 degree Celsius.

“It was absolutely awesome. I managed it in 17 seconds and was running flat-out. I really did not want to hang around,” the Telegraph quoted Malcolm as saying.

“There wasn’t much left of the jacket at the end. To be honest, the heat I felt was what you would expect if you were wearing all those clothes and a helmet in hot weather and trying to run.

However, team of experts from Hampshire Fire and Rescue were at hand in case any accident had occurred.

The new world record was set at the Alton and North East Hampshire Agricultural Show, which aimed at raising money for Cancer Research. (ANI)

Downey Jr. turns real life hero, saves film extra from a rampaging robot

Washington, Jun 28 (ANI): American actor Robert Downey Jr. is said to have stopped shooting on the ‘Iron Man 2′ and rushed to the aid of a movie extra after he was injured by a rampaging robot.

MTV Brings The Trials and Tribulations of Steve-O to Life in ‘Steve-O: Demise
and Rise’ Airing on Sunday, May 3rd at 10:00pm ET/PT

“Steve-O: Demise and Rise” Is The Latest In A Series of Self-Doc Programming
Set To Air On The Network

NEW YORK, April 16 /PRNewswire/ — MTV continues to experiment and break the
mold in documentary filmmaking with the release of “Steve-O: Demise and Rise,”
a self-documented look inside the mind of a man struggling with drug and
alcohol addiction. This explosive special gives a raw, intimate first-hand
account of Steve-O’s downward spiral to when he ultimately hits rock bottom
and is saved by the intervention of friends and his own will to do whatever it
takes to get – and stay – sober. “Steve-O: Demise and Rise” airs on Sunday,
May 3rd at 10pm ET/PT.

“Addiction is a brain disease that kills. Steve suffered from the profound
consequences of long-standing polydrug addiction. The disease brought him to
the edge of sanity and one night nearly took his life,” said Dr. Drew Pinsky.
“His recovery has been an inspiring but gut-wrenching process. Steve remains
an inspiration to all. Those that have come to know him through this process
love him.”

“This documentary captures the most frightening moments of my friend at the
apex of his addiction. I know because I was there,” said Johnny Knoxville.
“More importantly though it offers hope, and documents the tremendous amount
of courage and hard work on Steve-O’s behalf to turn that hope into a healthy
person.”

Steve-O, a self-professed ham in front of the video camera, never leaves home
without it. Since his early teens, Steve-O has captured moments of his life on
tape, including everything from his days as an amateur stuntman and
flea-market clown to his rise to fame as popular member of “Jackass” and
“Wildboyz.” Consequently, the darkest hours of Steve-O’s life are also
captured. Viewers will see moments of extreme substance abuse, including the
marathon nitrous oxide sessions, terrorizing his next door neighbor, his
ill-fated attempt at being a gangsta-rapper and several infamous public
displays of self-destructive behavior. All of Steve-O’s antics lead to his
friends stepping in, turning off the camera and forcibly admitting him to the
medical center where he was forced to begin the process of learning to live
sober.

Since his intervention, it hasn’t been without hurdles that Steve-O has tried
to stay clean, sober and focused on making amends to those closest to him hurt
by his addiction — his family and friends. Steve-O’s journey has taken him
through highs and lows, and this documentary follows them all, right up until
his first performance this year on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars.” Now faced
with the daily challenge of living a clean life while still being the Steve-O
that everyone loves, he wants it to be known that he is not the poster child
for drug addiction or recovery but wants to show how truly difficult it is to
stay sober every day.

“Steve-O: Demise and Rise” is executive produced by Jeff Tremaine, Johnny
Knoxville, Stephen Glover and Derek Freda for Dickhouse Entertainment. Tim
Healy and Dave Sirulnick are Executive Producers for MTV.

Final Harry Potter ‘set for 2011 release’

Washington, Feb 27 (ANI): ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II’, the final film in the hit series, will be released in 2011, it has emerged.

Warner Bros has announced that the last instalment is to be released on July 15th 2011.

The studios decided to split the seventh book in JK Rowling’s series into two parts, as it was impossible to cram its 608 pages into a single film.

Therefore, the first instalment will hit screens in November 2010, reports Contactmusic.

And, the next film about the boy wizard, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is released in July this year, having been postponed for eight months due to the studio’s wish for a summer blockbuster.

Stuntman David Holmes suffered serious back injuries on the set of Deathly Hallows last month practising an aerial sequence.

The set was closed for a week for investigation before being allowed to re-open by the Health and Safety Executive. (ANI)

Harry Potter film set reopens after stuntman mishap

London, Feb 7 (ANI): The film set for the latest Harry Potter movie has been given permission to reopen after an accident that left a stuntman badly injured.

Brit actor Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double David Holmes, who suffered serious back injury on the set in an accident that took place on January 28, is still in hospital.

After the accident the set was cordoned off, but now the Health and Safety Executive has agreed for it to reopen.

“We have carried out a site visit and the set has now reopened,” the Telegraph quoted a spokesman as saying.

“The investigation is ongoing,” he stated.

Holmes is receiving treatment at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, in Stanmore, northwest London, which counts treatment for acute spinal injuries among its specialities.

Friends and family pray for injured Harry Potter stuntman

London, Jan 30 (ANI): Friends and family of David Holmes, body-double of Harry star Daniel Radcliffe, are praying his film career is not over after the stunt man suffered serious injuries in a horrific fall.
A friend said that specialists had taken a scan of Holmes’s back and were assessing the extent of the damage.

“They are hoping he will make a full recovery. But it was a nasty injury and it might be some time before they know exactly what they are dealing with,” the Mirror quoted the pal, as saying.

“He is hoping he hasn’t suffered any really serious permanent damage. He has worked in the film industry long enough to know it can be dangerous. And no matter what precautions are taken, performing stunts always carries a risk. But he has always loved his work and he will be hoping this isn’t the end of his career,” the pal added.

The 25-year-old, from Southend, got injured while rehearsing a flying scene that involved him being strapped into a harness and propelled through the air.

It is believed he was sent plummeting to the ground by a controlled explosion that was part of the stunt.

Holmes had been part of a team rehearsing stunts for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at Leavesden studios near Watford.

He was taken to Watford General Hospital then transferred to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double “blown up” on Harry Potter film set

London, Jan 29 (ANI): A stuntman who doubled for Daniel Radcliffe in the Harry Potter series has been injured in a horrible explosion on the set of the film.

The 25-year-old, who has been standing in as Radcliffe’s stunt double in all the Harry Potter films, was rehearsing a flying sequence by using a harness, when he was sent flying by the blast.

Though he was still conscious after slamming to the ground, he told his horrified colleagues: “I can’t feel my legs,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

“The stunt double was badly hurt. He was rehearsing a flying scene, which involved an explosion, and it seems to have gone badly wrong. The guy was rigged up to a harness for the scene and was flying through the air,” a source said.

“It is thought he may have been caught by the explosion and hit the ground very hard.

“He told crew members who went to help him he couldn’t feel anything from the waist down. Everyone is just hoping he makes a good recovery. It has come as a terrible shock,” the source stated.

The accident happened at the world famous Leavesden studios near Watford, and paramedics took him immediately to the hospital amidst fears that he may have been paralysed.

“We can confirm a member of the Harry Potter production was injured in an accident. We are awaiting further news,” a spokesman for the studio said.

“Out of respect for the family we are unable to comment further,” he added.

The incident took place while the crew were doing pre-production work for the seventh series, ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’, which will be out in 2010. (ANI)
