Kids as young as 6 getting suntans to look like Jordan, Cheryl Cole

London, May 26 (ANI): Children as young as six are getting suntans to look like stars such as Katie Price a.k.a Jordan and Cheryl Cole.

A study of 1,000 six to 16-year-olds found almost two thirds of kids want bronzed skin – and four in ten sunbathe “as often as possible”.

During the study, over half said it was ‘more fashionable’ to be tanned than pale. 60 percent felt better when they had a tan and 41 percent felt ‘thinner’.

The study also showed that one fifth sunbathed without suntan lotion to ‘get brown quicker’.

According to the research, a further 17 per cent used body lotions and oils instead of sun cream.

“Kids are damaging their future health,” the Sun quoted a spokesman for Superdrug, behind the survey, as saying.

England stars need to be at their best to win World Cup: Le Saux

London, May 21(ANI): Former England footballer Graeme Le Saux claims that every single member of the Three Lions’ squad will have to be at their best to win the World Cup.

“We’ve got a fantastic manager and some great players, so we just have to hope the whole squad combines and gels. It’s important that the players on the fringes of the first XI are in the right frame of mind to put in great performances when needed,” The Sun quoted Le Saux, as saying.

“If we’re going to be successful in South Africa, it’s clearly going to be about the squad and not just the regulars. I don’t think you can rely on one player,” he added.

The 41-year-old also believes that striker Wayne Rooney could be the difference, but Capello would not win matches without a system and a game plan.

“If it’s just about Rooney, then we won’t achieve anything — and that’s with no disrespect to him, quite the opposite in fact. He’s a key part of how we attack and score goals, but ultimately we’re going to need other players to chip in,” Le Saux said.

“And that in a sense is exactly what we have in the rest of the squad with the likes of Lampard and Gerrard. If you look at the other top teams, they all have great players, but there’s a fantastic team and structure around them,” he added. (ANI)

England Test stars wrangling with ECB over cash increase, not IPL

London, Mar.20 (ANI): Eleven England Test stars, including the rested captain Andrew Strauss and fast bowler James Anderson, have refused to sign the central contracts offered to them last October, and it is not because of their participation in the Indian Premier League, but more to do about better pay and perks.

It is the second year running that the deals have been delayed. Last year, the main sticking point was availability for the lucrative Indian Premier League. This time around though it is understood that money is the issue, with players feeling undervalued by their employers, reports The Sun.

The deals are currently worth up to 450,000 pounds for the big names, with the newer members of the side offered around 150,000 pounds.

England managing director Hugh Morris insists the players will not let the negotiations affect their efforts on the field.

With the Second Test starting today, Morris said: “The situation is that the players are currently under contract under the terms of last year. We”re working in good faith, but there are a few points that need ironing out. It”s a high priority. The IPL is separate and is not one of the issues.

“Both sides want to get a deal done and we don”t want to be in this situation again,” Morris added. (ANI)

Deepak Chopra says MJ was “a very controlled addict”

London, Sept 14 (ANI): World-famous self-help guru Deepak Chopra believes his friend Michael Jackson could not have died of drug addiction, as he was a “very controlled addict”.

The Telegraph quoted Chopra as saying: “It was caused not by the drugs he had been taking for years…. He was a very controlled addict. But by him being given a particular drug that is so powerful that I have never heard of it being used anywhere but in an operating theatre with breathing tubes and a ventilator.”

Chopra, who is also called “the spiritualist to the stars”, wants a criminal investigation into the King of Pop’s death and blames doctors for his easy demise.

He said: “There is a plethora of designer doctors who will give patients anything they want as along as they are paid…. That’s why I’d like to see a criminal investigation. That way some good would come out of Michael’s death. But no one seems to be prepared to do anything about it – even when the drugs these doctors are prescribing are killing people.”

MJ had contacted Chopra after reading one of his books on mind, body and spirit and the two had always been in touch since then. (ANI)

Capello warns WAGs World Cup in South Africa is no holiday

London, Sep 11 (ANI): England coach Fabio Capello has laid down strict laws for WAGs, and is determined that team takes the World Cup in South Africa seriously.

England’s last trip to the World Cup finals turned into a circus when the WAGs took over the picturesque town of Baden Baden in Germany. There were parties every night and the players were in almost daily contact with their loved ones.

Capello insisted that his stars will not go to the tournament for a holiday, and warned their wives and girlfriends: “If you don’t like it, don’t come.”

Capello has ruled that his current squad can have just one day with their partners and families after each game next summer. And that will be the only socialising allowed.

The 63-year-old Italian, whose team qualified for the finals, said: “I hope this period that we are at the World Cup will be very long. The players will have one day with their family, with the girls and friends. It will be one day a week, after each game and that is enough. That’s it.”

Asked if there was any danger it could be like Baden Baden, Capello replied: “No, absolutely not. Please. If they do not want to come for the day, then they should stay home. I like what we’ve had at training where the players stay together. We are going there to play, not for a holiday.”

Stars like Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard have admitted the WAGs’ presence affected the team under Sven Goran Eriksson in the 2006 World Cup, where Portugal won their quarterfinal on penalties, The Sun reports.

Some of the WAGs have started planning for South Africa, checking accommodation in Rustenburg, England’s most likely training base. (ANI)

Kelly Osbourne blames her DNA for drug addiction

Washington, Sept 10 (ANI): ‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant Kelly Osbourne has blamed her genes for her drug addiction.

Kelly’s father, rockstar Ozzy Osbourne, has had a long struggle with drugs, which makes her believe her DNA was pre-programmed to make her an addict.

Contactmusic quoted Kelly as telling BBC Radio 5 Live: “I don’t have any shadow of a doubt that addiction is a disease. It is in your genes.

“The only people in my family who don’t have that gene are my mother and my sister Amy.

“I consider myself lucky that I saw both sides of it. Drugs stop you from screaming on the outside, but you are still screaming on the inside.

“I was addicted by 16. Drugs stopped me from feeling a certain way. Some people experience euphoria but I never felt that. They numbed me and gave me confidence.

It was like a magic medicine.”

The 24-year-old Kelly has been in rehab four times and is presently drug free. (ANI)
