Geri Halliwell owes her life to Robbie Williams

London, Mar 26 (ANI): Geri Halliwell has said that Robbie Williams was the one who saved her life when she was battling with a string of eating disorders.

In fact, the former Spice Girl revealed that she was so ill that she now feels that she owes her life to Robbie Williams, who she used to be romantically linked to about 67 times a week.

“I was worried I would get fat. I would binge and then felt fatter and would make myself sick. It was awful,” the Mirror quoted Geri as saying on the interview with Piers Morgan.

“I became really close to Robbie after leaving the Spice Girls and it was a very poignant friendship. I was lonely and felt he was the only person on the planet who could understand me because of his experiences with Take That. We understood each other. But I didn’t really go out with him, no,” she added.

Geri claimed that Robbie actually played a far more important role in her life than boyfriend.

“Robbie knew about my bulimia and he advised me to get help,” she said.

“He told me to go into rehab and that possibly saved my life. The bulimia would have got worse without it. I will always be grateful to him, always. I am happy and healthy now,” she added. (ANI)

Posh banned from spraying new perfume in front of allergic Whoopi

New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham has been banned from spraying her new perfume when she promotes it on a US talk show hosted by Whoopi Goldberg.

Goldberg, 53, had invited Posh, 35, to appear on ‘The View’ to talk about her latest fragrance Signature Story, but totally forgot that she’s allergic to perfume, reports China Daily.

Posh has agreed not to spray the scent within a nine-metre radius of Goldberg, while audience members, who will get a goody bag containing a bottle of the fragrance, will have to sign an agreement not to open the fragrance in the studio.

“Whoopi was desperate to get Victoria on ‘The View’ as she’s got an incredible profile in the US right now,” a source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper.

“Victoria is launching her perfume so the timing was perfect and she agreed straight away.

“Sadly, Whoopi didn’t really think things through – and it was only once her guest was confirmed that she informed producers she was allergic to perfume.

“If she smells it, her eyes well up and start streaming, and her lips even swell. Studio bosses have had to write up contracts for the audience and Victoria making sure they don’t spray the scent.

“It’s not the ideal way to promote a perfume, but Victoria saw the funny side,” the source added. (ANI)

Excited Posh taking acting lessons for ‘Sex And The City’ sequel

Washington, July 13 (ANI): Victoria Beckham is so keyed up for her cameo role in the ‘Sex And The City’ movie sequel that she has started taking acting lessons.

However, the fashion icon is quite upbeat about doing full justice to her role alongside Sarah Jessica Parker.

“She really wanted to be in the last movie but wasn’t able to take part because of her commitments with the Spice Girls. This time she’s keen to take part,” Contactmusic quoted a source as having told Britain’s Mail.

Experts’ take on Posh and Becks’ marriage

London, July 05 (ANI): Now that David Beckham and his wife Victoria have spent a decade together, experts have given their take on the happily married couple.

The decade long relationship has witnessed flings, babies, mansions and ever changing hairstyles, according to News of the World columnist Carole Malone.

The soccer star has not lost his charm over the years, while Posh from the famous band Spice Girls is still chewing on past glory and cuddling with one of the most adorable men in the world.

However, it always hasn’t been smooth sailing for the celebrity couple.

Their relationship hit the lowest point when the English footballer was linked with his assistant Rebecca Loos after leaving Manchester United for Real Madrid.

Mark Frith, author of ‘The Celeb Diaries’ says that it only strengthened their relationship, “But it has ultimately made them stronger as a couple. Victoria could have dumped him and walked away but that didn’t happen.”

But Carole Malone disagrees; she believes that the pop star wife only proved her weakness and total dependence on the soccer super star.

She writes: “At the height of the furore over Rebecca Loos, Posh was able to appear in public smiling, pouting, and hanging onto her husband’s arm whilst gazing adoringly into his eyes. What she said and did to him in private, who knows? But to the outside world – the only one that’s ever mattered to Posh – she insisted on a united front. Because it wasn’t just her marriage at stake here, it was her public image.”

Meanwhile, Beckham kept on seeing success on the field silencing his critics.

Frith says, “He was heavily criticised for going to Los Angeles to play for what was viewed as an inferior team. He was seen as coasting, wanting to see out his days in the Hollywood environment. But then he took on possibly the biggest challenge of his career, moving to AC Milan on loan, and made it a huge success.

“He reinvented himself yet again, proved his critics wrong and got himself back in the England team.”

About the two being a different combination in contrast to most Hollywood stars, ‘The Celeb Diaries’ adds: “They were a real breath of fresh air, different from the sulky Hollywood film stars who moaned that they were only in it for their art.” (ANI)

Posh’s chat-up line kicked off her love story with Becks

London, July 4 (ANI): It was a chat-up line that sparked off David and Victoria Beckham’s relationship, which went on to become the most iconic partnerships in celebrity history.

After watching Manchester United play Sheffield Wednesday at Old Trafford in March 1997, a determined Victoria Adams had waved goodbye to a shy Beckham with a chat-up line laden with Girl Power, and that was what led to couple’s rock-solid union that extends to this date.

“If you don’t ring me, I’m going to kick you in the b******s the next time I see you,” British tabloid The Sun quoted Posh as having said at the time.

It is believed that Pop guru Simon Fuller, the creator of The Spice Girls, engineered the couple’s meeting after he saw great potential in Victoria.

So, tickets to Manchester United games were hastily arranged, and it wasn’t long before Britain’s most up-and-coming footballer set his eyes on the woman who would soon become his wife.

But despite the encounter’s engineered beginnings, there was a genuine chemistry between the two young celebrities.

While the well brought up Victoria was impressed by David’s politeness, the footballer was equally charmed by Victoria’s forthright message to call her.

And, since then, the pair have been together, and are still hailed as the most stylish and loving couple of the last decade.

Posh and Beckham are celebrating their tenth anniversary today, and are currently holidaying in Seychelles. (ANI)

The show, being produced by U.S. music channel VH1, might see the ‘Wannabe’ singer helping search for the stars of the future.

“It’s going to be a real chance to find some edgy raw talents and watch it unfold as part of the show,” the Daily star quoted Brown, currently in Las Vegas starring in burlesque act Peepshow at the Planet Hollywood Resort, as saying.

Geri Halliwell’s stalker fear

London, April 10 (ANI): Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is said to be terrified after being targeted by a crazed stalker.

The singer has tightened security at her north London house to protect herself and two-year-old daughter Bluebell from the loner, who hangs around outside at all hours.

Halliwell also had to change her phone number after constant nuisance calls.

“Geri has become increasingly concerned over recent months. This individual has been loitering around her home almost continually and it’s really upsetting and scaring her,” the Sun quoted a friend, as saying.

“Her burglar alarm has gone off a number of times when she’s been out and she’s worried about her and Bluebell’s safety.

“The phone was ringing at all hours of the day and night so she had to get a new number,” the friend added.

This isn’t the first time Halliwell, a UN Goodwill Ambassador, has been threatened.

Last year in June, she was abused by a raving woman at a glitzy bash in London.

A source said: “Geri is acutely aware that life in the public eye brings with it certain unwelcome elements.

“She has been in the spotlight for around 15 years so knows perfectly well that some members of the public can get a little too devoted.

“When she was in the Spice Girls they were trailed night and day by obsessional fans.

“But this latest episode is a little more serious than that and she’s not prepared to take any risks with her daughter’s wellbeing,” the source added. (ANI)

Geri Halliwell may make pop comeback at 60

London, Apr 6 (ANI): Former ‘Spice Girls’ star Geri Halliwell has revealed that she may consider making a pop comeback at the age of 60, but for now she has no plans to do so.

Halliwell, 36, also says that she has no plans for recording music in the near future, and that even though she has not totally given up on it, she believes that right now it is time for the younger generation to have a go at it.

“Everybody has their moment and their time. Let somebody else have a crack at it. There are younger people around now,” the Sun quoted her as telling Red magazine.

“I didn’t want to have to stay young in order to sell records. And I didn’t want to have to rely on my looks.

“I don’t want to say never, though. Who knows? I could do a record when I’m 60,” she added. (ANI)

Posh says she did Armani bare-all ad as “gift” to herself

London, Apr 6 (ANI): Victoria Beckham says that she posed semi-naked in her recent Armani ad with her hubby David not for the 12million pounds pay check, but to prove that she can have a toned body even after being mother to three kids.

The former ‘Spice Girls’ star stripped for the couture giant earlier this year in a series of raunchy monochrome ads.

Posh, however, insists that she did the Armani shoot only as a “gift” to herself in years to come.

“I worked very hard, so when I’m 50 I can look back and say, ‘Hey, Mummy didn’t look too bad after having three kids,’” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

The 35-years-old singer-turned-fashion designer has three boys Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and Cruz, four. (ANI)
