Robbie Williams signs up Westlife, Gordon Ramsay for Soccer Aid event

London, March 23 (ANI): Singer Robbie Williams is returning again in 2010 with his the Soccer Aid event, in which professional soccer players take on celebrities.

The Angels hitmaker has signed up Irish boyband Westlife and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay for his bi-annual charity soccer tournament.

The Soccer Aid event was founded in 2006 and it raises money for UNICEF UK.

Williams is pleased he”s persuaded so many stars to sign up in the same year as the soccer World Cup, which takes place this summer (10) in South Africa.

“I am so excited Soccer Aid is back. It will be a great time for for football, with World Cup fever at boiling point,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

The tournament will take place at the U.K.”s Old Trafford ground in Manchester, England on 6 June (10) – five days before the World Cup starts. (ANI)

Robbie Williams eager to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

London, Sept 14 (ANI): Singer Robbie Williams is desperate to appear on reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

The 35-year-old singer might join the rumoured line-up including Mark Lester, footballer Jason Cundy and wife Lizzie, actor Brian Blessed and snooker legend Jimmy White.

“I really like I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! It’d be fun to go on,” the Sun quoted Williams as saying.

The Angels star also revealed his love for a documentary about US suburban housewives.

He said, “I like to see how these shows are constructed, filmed and edited.” (ANI)

Robbie Williams asks girlfriend’s mum to share his home

London, Aug 21 (ANI): Brit singer Robbie Williams is said to be so taken with his girlfriend’s mum that he has invited her to move in with them.

Williams, 35, is currently dating 30-year-old Turkish American actress Ayda Field, and he wants her mum Gwen to live in his country pile near Swindon for months at a time.

The actor apparently bonded with Gwen over a shared love of poker, and he has been flying her over to the UK from her California home regularly since getting the keys to his 8.5million pounds Wilts mansion in January.

“Robbie has really hit it off with Ayda’s mum. One of his hobbies is playing poker with a small group of pals including his mate Jonathan Wilkes,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“Gwen has joined in a few times, and on a couple of occasions Robbie and Gwen have carried on playing into the wee small hours after everyone else went to bed,” the source said.

With Williams and Field moving back to the UK full-time ahead of his new album release, he’s keen for Gwen to come, too.

“Robbie’s new house is massive and it would be a lonely place to rattle about in on your own,” the source said.

“But Ayda and Gwen will have a lot of fun together. There are tennis courts and a gym and some nice countryside.

“Plus there is completely separate accommodation so Gwen can have her privacy,” the source added. (ANI)

Robbie Williams sparks health fears writing about ‘swine flu’ tests

London, Aug 18 (ANI): Brit singer Robbie Williams reportedly sparked fears for his health, after he revealed to fans that he was heading to the doctor to get tested for swine flu.

Williams, 35, who was suffering from a cold, had posted a blog on his website about his visit to the medics.

“Off to the doctors to confirm if I have pig or not,” the Sun quoted him as writing.

Though the blog was followed by two pages of get well messages from his loyal supporters, Williams’ spokesman revealed it was only a cold.

“He was just being ultra careful by going to the doctor. He was shooting his video for the new single Bodies last week and picked up a cold on the set,” the spokesman said. (ANI)

Madonna to perform on ‘X Factor’?

London, July 7 (IANS) Pop diva Madonna may perform on this year’s popular music talent show “X Factor”.
“This year is going to be bigger than ever – we are planning to get the best names in music,” thesun.co.uk quoted a source as saying.

Simon Cowell, the producer of the show, wants to get singer Robbie Williams. The star has spent years in the wilderness and Cowell wants the singer to make a comeback by performing on his show.

Others being lined up to perform on the talent show include “Outrageous chart” sensation Lady Ga Ga and “Umbrella” singer Rihanna.

The new season of the show returns August 22.

Robbie Williams quizzed over armed robbery in Bahamas

London, June 25 (ANI): British singer Robbie Williams has been quizzed by cops in the Bahamas after two photographers were robbed just hours after they took snaps of the star.

The former Take That star was holidaying when his entourage became embroiled in an argument with the paparazzi over pictures they took of Williams, reports the Daily Express.

And hours after the confrontation, snappers were allegedly the victims of a vicious robbery, which saw their camera equipment and possessions stolen.

Supt Ellsworth Moss said investigators had interviewed Williams about the morning robbery and stressed that the singer was not a suspect but that detectives are “exploring all options.” (ANI)

Robbie Williams spares no expense when it comes to his pet dogs

Washington, May 19 (ANI): Brit singer Robbie Williams has been revealed to be a true lover of animals after he spared no expenses to be with his pet dogs.

Williams, 35, is said to have been flying between London and Los Angeles just to visit his dogs at his new home in Wiltshire, in his native England, as officials have told him that they could join him only after completing an isolation period in the U.S.

For the former Take That member, who has been flying to California to check up on his canines, he is just counting the days when he will be reunited with his pups.

“We’ve come back to see the dogs. Because of the ridiculous quarantine rules, the little ones and the big ones have to have jabs (injections) then wait a whole six months before they’re deemed fit enough (well, rabies free) to join us in England,” Contactmusic quoted him as having written on his official blog.

“It’s a stupid law but one you can’t do anything about. I can’t wait for them to see their new home – they’re going to s**te (literally, Maggie has trouble holding it in). Only a month and a half before they can come with us!” he added. (ANI)

Robbie Williams threatens to sue cancer charity bosses over ad campaign

London, May 12 (ANI): Singer Robbie Williams has threatened to sue cancer charity bosses who intend to use his look-alike for testicular cancer ad campaign.

National Testicular Cancer Awareness campaign sponsor Marc Gavin revealed that he had earlier approached Williams to join a league of celebrities in an ad to encourage men to get regular check-up for signs of cancer, but he turned down his offer.

Later, when Gavin asked him if he could use his lookalike instead, William’s lawyer sent him a threatening email.

“I’m astonished by the appalling attitude of Robbie’s management company, particular as the campaign is designed to save lives by giving people vital information about Testicular Cancer. We have over 30 other top celebrities taking part and we asked Robbie’s PR if she could ask Robbie if he would give us 15 minutes of his time to take part in the campaign shoot. She said he would not take part,” the Daily Express quoted Gvain as saying.

“So we asked if we could use a lookalike instead. The answer was no to that as well. The next thing we knew we had received an email from Sheridans, Robbie’s solicitors, threatening us with legal action and injunctions to stop us using the lookalike’s image,” Gavin added.

Gavin is currently hunting for other celebrity to replace Williams in the print campaign. (ANI)

Robbie Williams embraces his feminine side in Comic Relief sketch

London, Mar 10 (ANI): Brit singer Robbie Williams has gone all “girlie” for a special sketch for Comic Relief.

Williams, 35, showed his feminine side on March 6 in the sketch with Little Britain stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams.

American girl Ellie Grace (played by Matt) has her friend Candy Marie-Candy (Robbie) for a sleep over, and while Mom (David) is cooking breakfast they begin to play a game of “I love you more…” with revealing – and hilarious – results.

The ex-Take That star had appeared as a laydee in a Little Britain sketch for Comic Relief in 2005.

“It’s hard to say no when asked to take part in a Little Britain sketch for Comic Relief. But I have to admit that dressing up as a small American child in a pretty dress made it all the more appealing,” the Mirror quoted him as saying. (ANI)
