Photos of Miss USA in stripping contest emerge

Washington, May 18 (ANI): It has emerged that Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih had taken part in a stripping contest sponsored by a Detroit radio station.

According to MyFOXDC.com, 23-year-old Fakih appeared in several photos on Mojointhemorning.com, a morning show on Detroit”s Channel 955.

Two of the photos are from a strip tease contest held in 2007, and show Fakih performing on a stripper pole in front of an audience of women dressed in their underwear.

“Congratulations to Miss Michigan, Rima Fakih who was crowned Miss USA on Sunday night! Rima is a Dearborn resident and the first Arab American to wear the crown,” Fox News quoted the site as stating.

“Rima is a Mojo In The Morning listener who has joined us in studio and at events. Check out Miss USA Rima Fakih when she won Mojo In The Morning”s ”Stripper 101” contest in 2007,” it stated.

According to the website, the judges were strippers, and awarded Fakih first prize. The prizes included jewellery, gift cards, adult toys and a stripper pole for home use.

Only women attended the event, and Fakih never removed her clothing at the event, the radio station said in a statement.

Miss Universe representatives have contacted producers of Mojo In The Morning and requested more photographs and information regarding Fakih”s involvement in the ”Stripper 101” contest.

When asked if Fakih”s status as Miss USA was in danger, pageant representatives would not answer.

Morning show host Mojo says the controversial photographs were taken from their website where they have been posted for three years.

He said Mojo In The Morning will not release any further photographs and hopes that Donald Trump does not ask Fakih to relinquish her crown.

“It would be foolish to consider anyone other than Rima to represent the USA. The photos taken from our website are no more provocative than those on the Miss USA website,” he added. (ANI)

Keith Richards develops lemon passion after dumping vodka!

London, May 15 (ANI): ‘Rolling Stones’ guitarist Keith Richards has revealed his passion for citrus fruits.

The veteran rocker has grown a tree after planting pips from a lemon he bought in a supermarket.

Now, he disclosed on a US TV chat show that it has produced citrus fruit “bigger than grapefruits”, reports the Sun.

The star – who gave up his favourite tipple vodka when he quit booze at the start of the year – even germinated the tree””s flowers by hand.

“Somebody told me that in the winter, when the flowers come up, you””ve got to germinate them,” he told chat show host Jimmy Fallon.

“So I end up with a little paintbrush, going round every flower. I wanted John Belushi””s bee outfit.

“I had nothing else to do – so what do you do when you””ve got nothing to do?” he explained. (ANI

Obama”s comedy timing trumps Jay Leno

New York, May 3 (ANI): President Barack Obama trumped Jay Leno with his ‘impeccable’ comic timing at the White House Correspondents” dinner at Hilton in Washington, DC.

While the ‘Tonight Show’ host poked some fun at Obama, it was the latter who got the most laughs.

“His timing was impeccable,” the New York Daily News quoted Scarlett Johansson as saying about the President.

‘Knocked Up’ director Judd Apatow said speechwriter Jon Lovett gave his boss some knockout material about birthers, Biden and McCain.

But it was the delivery that made Obama take the cake.

“I”m sure they gave the President twice as many jokes. I think a lot of the success had to do with the ones the President chose. His taste is impeccable He also let himself be funny. Most of the time the job demands that he hold back,” saod Apatow.

“Jay wasn”t bad. The video bits were nice. But he was reading from notecards. The gags didn”t fly, ” said one guest. (ANI)

Heidi Klum still fuming over nude bedroom photo scandal

London, Apr 30 (ANI): Heidi Klum is still livid over a stylist, she invited into her home, for going public about a collection of tasteful nude photographs of the supermodel and husband Seal, which decorate the couple”s master bedroom.

Klum did not think twice before inviting the unnamed advisor into her bedroom for a fitting.

However, she got a shock of her life when she called the tabloids to report the details of the candid shots Klum had hoped no one but herself and the singer would see.

Talking to U.S. chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, the supermodel called the big reveal “so mean.”

“This is how this whole thing started about our semi-nude, artsy photos that we have – in our private bedroom,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

“No one normally goes in there and I was getting a fitting because I was fixing something in the other room, so I was (like), ”OK, let”s do the fitting in my bedroom…” and the next day it (story) was out,” she added.

Klum confessed that she doesn”t really know what all the fuss is about.

“We”re not doing some naked voodoo dancing crazy business. It”s just photos. They were not for anyone to see. It”s not like we”re showing them to everybody. They”re in our bedroom,” she said. (ANI)

John Edwards” baby”s mum opens up to Oprah Winfrey

New York, April 29 (ANI): Former actress Rielle Hunter has opened up to talk show host Oprah Winfrey about the affair she had with ex-Presidential candidate John Edwards.

Hunter, 46, who had a child from Edwards, 56, revealed that he did not tell his wife Elizabeth, the full story about his affair with her, and that those who were really close to him did not want him to speak out.

“Everyone who was close to – well, who knew all the facts and knew the truth said, please don”t do that interview. Please don”t do that interview,” the New York Daily News quoted Hunter as telling Winfrey in an interview.

“Elizabeth really wanted him to do that interview. She wanted him to say, you know, you”ve got to get out in front of it. You”ve got to, you know, say the truth and speak the truth.

“And she didn”t know the truth. So it”s like you can”t do the interview and not speak the whole truth,” she told Winfrey.

In 2008, Edwards had told ABC”s Bob Woodruff he cheated on his wife, but said Hunter”s child was not his, and that he couldn”t be the father based on the timing of the baby”s birth.

At the time close aide, Andrew Young, had been fingered as the dad.

Edwards eventually admitted to paternity of the child after Young wrote a book detailing the scandal. Young also revealed the existence of a sex tape starring Edwards and Hunter.

Winfrey”s interview with Hunter lands almost a year after Elizabeth Edwards appeared on the popular daytime show to talk about her book and her marriage to Edwards.

Elizabeth told Winfrey then she had “no idea” whether her husband was a new dad at the time.

“So you just said she didn”t know the truth. She knew that there was the affair?” Winfrey asked Hunter.

“She didn”t know until after the interview,” Hunter said.

“He came clean with her after that interview,” she added. (ANI)

K-Fed says divorce from Britney made him fat

London, March 31 (ANI): Kevin Federline blames his divorce from pop star Britney Spears as the reason behind his weight gain.

The former dancer, who recently appeared on Celebrity FIT club in the US, says the end of his two-year marriage to the singer plunged him into depression, turning him into a couch potato, reports the Sun.

However, Federline admits there may be another reason. He was drinking up to 24 cans of full-sugar fizzy drinks a day.

He told chat show host Bonnie Hunt: “I didn”t drink water, that was all I drank. That was my coffee and my candy.”

K-Fed admits spending days on the couch eating pizza and Macaroni cheese, his only exercise being playing with his young kids.

He added: “I hit 30-years-old, I stop dancing, started eating and sitting on the couch playing with the kids here and there. I got lazier and lazier, and fatter and fatter.” (ANI)

Cheryl Cole wants to buy her beloved Newcastle United

London, Sept 8 (ANI): Hottie Cheryl Cole has revealed her wish to buy her favourite football club Newcastle United.

The Girls Aloud singer boasts of a fortune of over 10 million pounds while her footie hubby Ashley Cole earns 3.5-million pounds a year.

Club owner Mike Ashley had put up the club for sale in June this year.

Ashley’s price of 100 million pounds for the club has not met any takers as yet.

Now Cheryl wants to become part of a consortium to save The Toon, reports The Daily Star.

The 26-year-old beauty disclosed her desire on Real Radio breakfast show.

Host Craig Beck asked her: “You must have got a bit of cash.

“You don’t fancy buying Newcastle and putting Ashley at left back?”

Oprah ‘wants to close New York City highway for magazine anniversary bash’

London, Aug 25 (ANI): Oprah Winfrey has reportedly sought permission to close parts of a New York City highway next year for a huge party, in order to celebrate the tenth anniversary of her Magazine.he revelry may take place in May next year, and the TV show host intends to shut down portions of the city’s West Side Highway for a blow-out block party for all her fans, according to E! Online.

A City Hall official has reportedly revealed that Oprah has made permit enquiries for the event.

There has been no confirmation from Winfrey, but her reps said: “While it is too soon to discuss specifics, we are looking forward to celebrating in a big way.” (ANI)

The ‘Tomb Raider’ actress has topped a poll of 2,600 lesbians by OnePoll.com.

“Angelina has a dark side, which lesbians like,” the Daily Star quoted a OnePoll.com spokesman as saying.

At the second position was Pop queen Madonna, 50.

The lesbians round the world voted singer Pink, 29 at the third spot.

Rounding off at fourth and fifth positions were tennis star Martina Navratilova, 52, and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, 51, respectively.

Daniel Radcliffe ‘never wants to grow up’

London, July 11 (ANI): Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe says that he has had such a wonderful childhood that he never wants to grow up.

The actor, who will turn 20 this month, said so while talking to David Letterman on his chat show.

“I’ve really enjoyed my teenage years,” the Daily Star quoted him as having told the US chat show host.

Radcliffe also appeared on Alexa Chung’s new chat show, later.

Meanwhile, Emma Watson laughed off her wardrobe malfunction at Letterman’s show.

London, Jul 10 (ANI): Aussie model Elle Macpherson has been pictured posing next to the new Jaguar XJ that was launched recently.

The company’s first new model for seven years was launched at the Saatchi Gallery in London.

The car, whose price starts at 52,500 pounds, is made of aluminium, making it far greener than previous steel models.

“The aluminium is recyclable,” the Daily Express quoted new Indian owners Tata as saying.

US talk-show host Jay Leno hosted the event, which was also attended by Baywatch actor David Hasselhoff, newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald, and Spandau Ballet singer Tony Hadley. (ANI)

Emma Watson laughs off wardrobe malfunction

London, July 10 (ANI): Emma Watson has said that she is glad she had her knickers on during the premiere of new Harry Porter film in London, where she suffered wardrobe malfunction.

The actress, who accidentally flashed her lower undergarment when gust of wind lifted her dress on the rainy day, spoke to US chat show host David Letterman about the incident.

“At least I’m wearing underwear!” she quipped, making the audience roar with laughter, the Daily Star reports.

However, the actress was quick to dismiss the occurrence as not something harmful to her image.

She said: “This was a small wardrobe malfunction – that happens.”

The19-year-old admitted that she is still in the process of learning things in Hollywood.

Tiger Woods gets “thumped” by Jimmy Fallon on Wii golf game

New York, Jun 26 (ANI): American professional golfer Tiger Woods was left embarrassed after he was beaten by comedian and NBC’s show host Jimmy Fallon at his own game of golf on Nintendo Wii.

Woods, 33, quit the game, played on June 25 at Times Square, before finishing the third and final hole.

“I just got absolutely schooled in my own game,” the New York Daily News quoted Woods as saying.

“I certainly want a rematch,” he stated.

Fallon, 34, was elated after he defeated the world’s number one-ranked golfer after shooting, astonishingly, for par.

Woods shot a double-bogey and a bogey on the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 game before giving up.

“Tiger is the greatest athlete in the world right now,” Fallon said.

“But I think I’m better at playing with my Wii,” he added.

Many tourists on the streets and in tour buses witnessed the match, and they gawked and took pictures as Woods and Fallon appeared on a makeshift stage at Broadway and 43rd Street.

Brooklyn-born Fallon had been confident from the start that he would win the game.

“I think I have a bit of an advantage; this is my home court,” he said.

“I’m ready to do this,” he exclaimed.

Woods, wearing a red Nike polo and black pants, never recovered after flubbing his first few shots.

“I’m getting thumped,” he stated. (ANI)

Good Day LA host, Jillian Barberie and her husband Grant Reynolds are expecting their first baby together – and the baby is due within the next month.

Jillian Barberie and Grant Reynolds were thrilled to announce in December that they’re expecting their first child together on July 7th – and that date is rolling around pretty soon!

Jillian reveals: “We’re both thrilled…I feel like I’m at a place in my life where I just am really happy. I never thought I wanted kids – I was a career girl all these years! I never thought about it before until him.”

The 40-year-old show host also opened up to People Magazine about her previous miscarriage and fears that her age would affect her pregnancy: “I was pregnant a couple of years ago with a guy that I was dating, and I thought, well, I’m 38, and I’ll keep the baby because who knows if I’m going to have the chance…When we got married I said, you know, I think this is something we’re going to try at. But [Grant] is very laid back and he said it’s just going to happen. He’s infectious with his positive thinking. And sure enough, it did! We got pregnant on our first try. I’m very blessed. I would have gone the route of treatment if I had to.”

Realistically, Jillian could have the baby any day now – but let’s hope that baby stays in her belly for at least another few weeks!

‘Octo-Mel’ Gibson confirms Russian lover’s pregnancy

Melbourne, May 26 (ANI): Hollywood actor Mel Gibson has finally confirmed that he and Russian girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva are expecting a child.

In an interview to talk show host Jay Leno, the ‘Braveheart’ star revealed that he was going to be a father for the eighth time and jokingly referred to himself as ‘Octo-Mel’.

On being asked about the pregnancy reports, Gibson said “This is true. We’re gonna have a child.”

The 53-year-old actor also took the blame for the divorce with his wife of 28 years Robyn.

“My wife and I, our marriage ended three years ago and we’ve been separated ever since then,” People quoted Gibson as saying.

“These things happen. It’s unfortunate, it’s sad, but you know she is an admirable woman – we still got kids together. We’re friends,” he added.

“He couldn’t be happier,” one of Gibson friends.

“He loves being a father,” the friend added. (ANI)

Diaz, 36, revealed her habits in an interview with US chat show host Jay Leno, 59.

“I do follow the rule: If it’s yellow keep it mellow and if it is brown flush it down,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

Oprah Winfrey apologizes for slamming author James Frey

New Delhi, May 14 (ANI): Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has apologized to author James Frey for slamming him on her famous chat show.

Winfrey claimed on her show that Frey had fabricated parts of his memoir titled ‘A Million Little Pieces’.

However, she has now apologized to the author, reports the China Daily.

Winfrey’s apology was first reported on the Web site of Vanity Fair, with the author saying that he felt “grateful” for Winfrey’s gesture.

Winfrey and Frey share an age-old relationship, as Winfrey had been one of Frey’s most vocal boosters, naming his 2003 drugs-and-alcohol memoir ‘A Million Little Pieces’ one of her “book club” choices in 2005 and propelling it to bestseller status.

However, the next year, when the book was revealed, it emerged that Frey had invented some details in the supposedly non-fiction memoir and written that he once spent three months behind bars when in reality it was a few hours.

Thus, Winfrey lashed out at him when he appeared on her show.

“It is difficult for me to talk to you, because I really feel duped,” Winfrey said earlier.

However, Winfrey and Frey appear to have reconciled.

Frey revealed that Winfrey called him last fall to tell him “I felt I owe you an apology,” and she explained that her lambasting of him sprang from her sense of feeling betrayed, according to the Vanity Fair report.

“It was a nice surprise to hear from her, and I really appreciated the call and the sentiment,” Frey told Vanity Fair.

Winfrey’s spokeswoman Angela DePaul, confirmed that the chat show host had called Frey up to apologize. (ANI)

M.I.A. seeks Winfrey’s help to stop attacks on Sri Lankan Tamils

London, May 9 (ANI): British-born singer M.I.A., real name Mathangi Arulpragasam, has begged US talk show host Oprah Winfrey to help stop the attacks on Sri Lankan Tamils.

The singer, who was born in the UK to Sri Lankan parents, was a child when her father returned to the Asian country to join in the fight for a separate Tamil state there.

The battle between Tamil activists and the Sri Lankan Government has descended into bloody violence, and M.I.A. claims that thousands of civilians are regularly killed in bombing raids.

M.I.A., 31, had met Winfrey at a recent event to honour Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People.

Their meeting impressed her so much that she has now taken to her MySpace.com page to ask the media queen for help.

“She (Oprah) squeeeezed my hand so hard, I was convinced she cared. Michelle Obama gave a speech and there was mad secret service in the air so I didn’t get to throw a paper plane at her saying ‘stop the bombing of the Tamils in Sri Lanka’,” the Daily Star quoted her as writing.

“I wasn’t sure about my influence but……..if I do have any influence, I wish I could get the media to spotlight this… Oprah can you do something bout these camps pleeeeeeeeeease?” she added. (ANI)

Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi named best celebrity babysitters

Washington, May 08 (ANI): TV chat show host Ellen DeGeneres and her Australian actress partner Portia de Rossi have topped a new poll that asked American mums which celebrities they would feel most comfortable leaving their kids with.

DeGeneres and de Rossi – who married in August and have no children – took 31 per cent of votes, reports Usmagazine.com.

Jennifer Aniston came in second with 22 per cent, beating Angelina Jolie and partner Brad Pitt with their eclectic brood of six in the poll of more than 10,000 mums.

Jolie and Pitt got 18 per cent of votes, while chat show queen Oprah Winfrey got just 9 per cent.

Jolie also won few fans as a mum, coming bottom in a list of five best celebrity mothers.

Mum of two Jennifer Garner won that round, followed by first lady Michelle Obama and Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon in a virtual tie.

The ParentDish.com poll, conducted to mark Mother’s Day, was carried out on AOL’s parenting site between April 23 and May 5. (ANI)

UK’s Royal Albert Hall to host first ever Bollywood Prom

London, Apr.8 (ANI): The Royal Albert Hall will host its first ever Bollywood Prom as part of a day dedicated to Indian music, called Indian Voices.

The BBC, which organises and supports the Proms, is touting it as “an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza”.

The evening Prom on August 16 will be hosted by Shaan, a popular Indian singer and talent-show host, The Telegraph reports.

Roger Wright, director of the Proms and controller of BBC Radio 3, made the announcement as he disclosed the line-up for the Proms 2009 season.

It will run from July 17 to the famed Last Night of the Proms on September 12.

Wright said the Proms were not simply jumping on the Slumdog bandwagon, after the success of the Danny Boyle-directed film, and said the BBC started talking about a Bollywood concert “last June or July”.

Slumdog, hailed as a success of British and Indian collaboration, was a box office hit last winter before winning eight Oscars in February. (ANI)
