Brit men having moob jobs on the rise

London, Sep 18 (ANI): It has emerged that more and more Brit men are having cosmetic surgery to get rid of their “moobs”.

According to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), there has been a 44 per cent year-on-year rise in the number of men wanting to get rid of their ‘man boobs’.

The AGM of BAAPS in Cardiff heard that the procedure is now the fifth most popular cosmetic op for men, with more than 1,000 men forking out more than 2,000 pounds to get rid of their flabby breasts in the last 12 months.

Delegates were told over the past five years the numbers of men losing their moobs have shot up by an amazing 1,000 per cent.

“We are seeing men of all ages coming in to have their breasts made smaller,” the Sun quoted plastic surgeon Douglas McGeorge as saying.

“They are losing their inhibitions about the operation and deciding to undergo an operation which previously was a women’s operation,” he said.

McGeorge, who is based in Chester, revealed that a recent patient, who had never taken his shirt off, was typical of the men queuing up for the op.

“It was a grandfather who had never taken off his T-shirt in his life because he was so embarrassed about the size of his breasts,” he said.

“He had never been able to strip to the waist on the beach in front of his own children – but was determined not to be in the same position with his grandchildren,” he stated.

The moob jobs pushed out facelifts to become the fifth most popular plastic surgery for British men after nose jobs, eyelifts, ear corrections, and liposuction.

“Reasons for the upsurge include men being more open now about their physique than years ago,” plastic surgeon Fazel Fatah said.

“And they can get more and more information about it from internet sites which encourage them to have the op,” he added. (ANI)

Now, Scot players to test a waterproof football kit

Edinburgh, Sep.13 (ANI): Scotland may be out of the World Cup, but it leads the globe on one footballing frontier – testing out a new range of all-weather soccer gear.

US sportswear giant Under Armour has handpicked two players from the ranks of the Scottish junior leagues to trial shirts, shorts, socks and boots which provide “head to toe” protection against the elements.

Chris Taylor and Kevin MacDonald, from Glasgow, were chosen from thousands of players by the expanding company to try out its new kit over a six-month period.

As well as the waterproof boots, the pair has been given the company’s specially made weather-resistant tops and shorts to try out in Scotland’s harsh winter climate, the News of The World reports.

The boots are made from kangaroo leather, renowned for its water-resistant qualities.

The shirt is made with specially formulated polyester containing “perforated microfibre”.

MacDonald, 26, a betting shop manager, plays for Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. Taylor, 31, plays for Ayrshire side Darvel, and travels from his Glasgow home for training and matches.

The company’s decision to choose Scotland as a testing ground for their waterproof football kit was backed by ex-players yesterday. (ANI)

Becks’ sporty tourism ad on California beach

London, September 1 (ANI): David Beckham showed off some tricks as he shot for a tourism ad promoting California.

The footie ace was seen displaying his skills as he kicked footballs into the ocean wearing a blue tee, casual shirt, and cargo shorts.

The 34-year-old later signed autographs and posed for some snaps with fans in Santa Monica, reports The Sun.

Beckham was reportedly requested to make an appearance by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who will star in the campaign.

West Wing’s Rob Lowe and Ugly Betty actress Vanessa Williams will also feature in the commercial. (ANI)

Theo Walcott shines in Nike TV ad

London, Aug. 28 (ANI): Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is the latest Premier League star to feature in Nike’s “Make The Difference” campaign.

Walcott is seen recreating some of his favourite moves around a deserted Emirates stadium in this short which is subtitled: “Fast is not enough,” reports The Sun.

The voiceover picks up the story: “Fast is good, people take notice, but blistering pace is something different. You could stop when they have done ‘enough’ and go no further, satisfied with being just another name on the team sheet. Others aim to be the opposition’s worst nightmare, electric pace that strikes fear into the heart of defenders, making your mark on each and every match. This is the difference. This is Theo Walcott. This is the time to earn total respect. To add to your reputation and to that of the shirt.”

Some of the Premier League’s biggest stars have made pledges on how they will ‘Make the Difference’ in the Nike’s campaign. (ANI)

Ashes hero Trott is also a diehard Hotspur fan!

London, Aug.26 (ANI): The signed England shirt and cricket stump will not be the only mementoes on the walls of Jonathan Trott’s Birmingham home. They will be given equal billing alongside his other most-prized sporting possession, his autographed Tottenham top from manager Harry Redknapp.

Trott, whose brilliantly assured second-innings century on his Test debut helped lay the foundations for the triumph, is not just a cricket lover – he’s a Spurs nut.

And he was gobsmacked that Redknapp, boss of the current Premier League leaders, sent him a shirt as a wedding present when he tied the knot with Abi in April.

Trott said: “The shirt says ‘To Trotty, Up the Spurs, Harry Redknapp’. Then there’s a card from him which says ‘To Trotty. Have a Great Day’.

“I love Spurs, I’m a massive fan and it would be fantastic if they could get into the Champions League to go with us winning The Ashes.

“Even during the Test on Sunday, I caught the TV at lunchtime and checked on the Spurs line-up for the game against West Ham, just to make sure Harry got it right. I wanted to know the final score while I was fielding but I never did and only found out after we had won The Ashes.”

Trott now looks a certainty to make England’s tour to South Africa having proved how cool he is under pressure – despite Aussie skipper Ricky Ponting’s claim he could crumble.

His Spurs allegiance was passed on from his English-born dad Ian and, growing up in Cape Town, he never missed coverage of them.

“I had loads of pictures on my wall and I’ve got tons of old Spurs shirts. I used to walk round with ‘Sheringham’ on my back. The first time I saw Spurs live was at Birmingham in 2003. I was in the Spurs end, we lost 1-0 to David Dunn penalty.

Despite being born and schooled in South Africa, Trott considers himself a proper Englishman.

He added: “I had a British passport from birth and can remember travelling to England in 1996 with the South African Under-15 side.

“Everyone else needed a visa and I just walked straight in. Mind you, I had more trouble getting back into South Africa than anyone else.

“My dad was born in England, my parents live in Surrey and my uncle and granddad live in Kent.

“I didn’t come here as a young guy just to try and take the cash back to South Africa. My home is in Birmingham, I’m an adopted Brummie and I’m very proud.”

Trott’s favourite memory of the triumph is not actually his ton.

He added: “For the rest of my life I’ll remember fielding at deep point to Michael Hussey when he hit it to Andrew Flintoff.

“I had a perfect view. Freddie’s direct hit was phenomenal and to run out Ricky Ponting was the defining moment of the game.” (ANI)

Obamas’ sartorially match colours for White House envoys reception

Washington, July 28 (ANI): A reception for ambassadors held in the Grand Foyer of The White House Monday night saw the Obamas’ exhibiting a united front, both philosophically and sartorially, reports the Huffington Post.

U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama wore a sheath with a white skirt, black bodice, and red ribbon belt. Her hair was worn down and elegantly slicked back.

The president was perfectly in sync with his wife, wearing a black suit, white shirt, and red tie.

From a philosophical angle, President Barack Obama described diplomacy as being more important now than ever before.

He told ambassadors to the United States that his administration was committed to working with countries to advance common goals, and that he looked forward to working with them to advance peace and prosperity.

Obama said diplomats previously discussed war and peace, but they now discuss everything from education, environment and even athletics.

He emphasized that the United States cannot solve its problems unless the solutions involve cooperation among nations. (ANI)

Beckham hints at dramatic return to Premier League

London, July 14 (ANI): England star midfielder David Beckham has opened the door for a dramatic return to the Premier League.

Becks, 34, has admitted he would come back to England if it boosted his chances of getting into Fabio Capello’s 2010 World Cup squad.

“I would definitely consider it. Never say never. When I left United, I said I would never want to play for another English club. My heart was in Manchester – and I couldn’t see myself wearing another shirt in the Premiership and playing against United. Now I wouldn’t rule it out,” The Sun quoted Beckham, as saying.

The ex-Real Madrid star has also admitted he would love to go back to Italy. I have a couple of months to sort things out and hopefully I can go back to Milan. That would be perfect. But I would do anything if it gives me a chance of being in the England squad for the World Cup finals,” he said.

Beckham is adamant he will go on loan again once the US season ends. “I would do it all again. Yes, there’s going to be criticism out there but it’s about how you ride it.”

After a sit-down with Landon Donovan and LA Galaxy boss Bruce Arena last night, Beckham said: “What was said was between me, Landon and the manager.”

Yet Donovan said: “We’re getting past it, we’re moving on. There are a lot of things I regret. I regret the way I went about this process and I also regret some of the things I said.” (ANI)

Christian Audigier questions Posh’s sense of style

Washington, July 6 (ANI): French clothing guru Christian Audigier doesn’t find Victoria Beckham’s clothing line impressive.

In an interview to Bang Showbiz, Audigier said that Posh was in a difficult position as she had no formal training.

“Victoria, I’m not sure about. I like her, she’s a nice girl, but she is not completely my style,” Contactmusic quoted Audigier as saying.

“I have seen some of her designs – they are very simple. It’s difficult for an artist or a singer to enter into the world of fashion.

“They need to be with a real pro because you can’t just rely on your name to help you sell.

“The way to sell and who to sell to and what you want to accomplish, these are all things you will need help with if you’re entering into the world,” he added.

However, according to Audigier, Posh’s soccer star husband David has an amazing style.

“I believe David Beckham has amazing style, he has this British and European twist with him. And he always dresses himself, picks everything himself,” he said.

“He can wear so many things well, whether it is shirts, a T-shirt with boxer shorts, or alternatively the Armani advert he did recently – he just looks great. He has a great attitude, I just love it.

“He is a real tough guy with his style, very English, like a Guy Ritchie movie or something like that, I like that,” he added. (ANI)

Men, too, feel anxious to strip off on the beach

London, July 3 (ANI): It’s not just the women who worry about body image and are reluctant to bare it all, for men too feel uncool about stripping off, according to researchers.

The survey by Tescodiets.com revealed that almost 50 percent men worry about baring their stomachs on the beach.

In fact, one in three men have considered avoiding a beach holiday altogether because of how they look in their swimming trunks.

Seven in 10 men surveyed were worried about baring their bodies, 47 percent were most cautious about revealing their stomachs.

More than 2,000 men were questioned for the survey, out of which, almost 75 percent thought that British men get just as nervous as women, when it comes to slipping on the swimwear.

The boys resort to many tactics to cover up in the heat-nearly a quarter wear shorts or a T-shirt even in the sea, 40 percent diet and around one third strip off only when in the water.

Over three-quarters of men were jealous of toned, athletic men they spotted on the beach.

One third of men said that they were most worried about how they looked to the opposite sex, as compared to just 13 percent who worried about what other men would think.

“Every summer we hear plenty about women dreading having to wear a swimsuit but men clearly have many of the same issues,” Sky News quoted Catherine Ambrozewicz, head of Tescodiets.com, as saying. (ANI)

Lady Gaga poses naked for V magazine shoot

Washington, Jul 3 (ANI): Singer Stefani Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga, has struck up a provocative pose in the nude for style magazine V.

She was seen sporting a curly, Pamela Anderson-style hairdo, posing among sand dunes, wearing bondage gear and a see-through lace mini-dress, reports Contactmusic.

In one of the candid photos, she is pictured wearing a breast-bearing bra under an off-the-shoulder shirt, and, in another saucy shot, she arches her back in a figure-hugging black leather corset.

This is not the first time Lady Gaga, 23, has posed naked for a magazine shoot, she recently appeared on the front of Rolling Stone wearing nothing but heavy make-up and a see-through bubble corset. (ANI)

Madras HC declares salwar kameez decent wear

Chennai July 01(ANI): The Madras high court has declared that salwar kameez is decent wear.

Responding to a petition filed by V Kamalaman internee of the Venkateshwara Homeopathic Medical College, Chennai, Justice K Venkatraman said, the college could not insist on a particular dress code.

Kamalam was prevented from attending classes for not wearing a saree during the internship. Kamalam informed the college management that she found it difficult to wear a saree. When the college refused to relent she filed a case against the college management with the National Commission for Women and the Madras High Court.

“No rule or regulation has been cited before the court to show that girl internees should wear only saree during internship. Even the prospectus of the institution does not mention any such dress code, and in the absence of such rules and regulations, the college cannot insist its students to wear a particular dress,” Justice Venkatraman said in his order.

According to the Venkateshwarsa Homeopathic Medical College, all female internees are required to wear sarees and male internees formal pants and shirt during the one-year compulsory resident internship.

The college management claims the saree only dress code was introduced “to instil and maintain discipline, dignity, and decorum among the internees.”(ANI)

‘A to Z’ for the Australian squad to win the Ashes

Queensland, June 29(ANI): In an analysis done by a leading Australian newspaper, it has formulated a plan which has suggested different methods to the Australian squad for winning the historic Ashes series this year.

The Courier-Mail in its analysis titled “ABC of how Australia can win the Ashes”, bewares the English side of its plan.

It has ‘A for Alderman’, where it gives advice to fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus to emulate Alderman’s methods of bowling impeccably aimed away swingers and off-cutters.

It has warned the Australians to keep the modern day Ian Botham (B), Andrew Flintoff, in his shell if they have to triumph and said that Flintoff’s ageing body would crack under pressure.

C has been referred as Sydney’s King’s Cross, England captain Andrew Strauss first met his wife Ruth in a nightclub in that area. The plan states that it might be used during an on-field niggle against the player.

The plan has “F for a flying start”, where it asks the Australians to get a flying start, and said that they should stop England from getting a flying start if they have to in the series.

Plan states “L for Lord’s”, where Australia has always tasted success and has luxurious memories. The venue for the second test in the series is a ground where Australia has not lost since 1934.

“T for tail-enders” highlights the manner in which in the recent past players likes Mitchell Johnson have regularly wagged in order to provide stability to the team. It is a point that the English squad lacks.

Y has been gives as Yobbos, referring to 7000 yellow T-shirt Australian brigade that is expected arrive in England for the Ashes. Seen as a support to the team hopes are high that they would give a tough time to the Barmy Army.

Z is for the ranking, which they hope that they would not give to Australia’s spin bowling battery at the end of the tour, (ANI)

Scots fought in bright yellow war shirts, not ‘Braveheart kilts’

London, June 29 (ANI): A new research has suggested that medieval Scottish soldiers fought wearing bright yellow war shirts dyed in horse urine rather than the tartan plaid kilts depicted in the film ‘Braveheart’.

According to a report in the Telegraph, the research, done by historian Fergus Cannan states that the Scots armies who fought in battles like Bannockburn, and Flodden Field would have looked very different to the way they have traditionally been depicted.

“Instead of kilts, they wore saffron-coloured tunics called “leine croich” and used a range of ingredients to get the boldest possible colours,” said Cannan.

“What the Scottish soldiers wore in the country’s greatest battles is an area that, up until now, has not been properly studied,” he added.

“A lot of historians quite rightly stated that the film Braveheart was not terribly accurate, but what they didn’t admit was that they didn’t have a clue what would be accurate,” he explained.

Cannan, a military history specialist, scoured original medieval eye-witness accounts, manuscripts, and tomb effigies for his research.

Using these and other sources, he built up a picture of what members of Robert the Bruce’s forces would have worn in 1314.

Numerous accounts cited by Cannan in his new book, ‘Scottish Arms and Armour’, refer to the distinctive linen tunics, usually worn with a belt round the middle.

“Forget about the plaid and tartan,” he said. “The yellow war shirt is never shown in any film or popular image and yet it is something that all the original writers comment on,” he added.

“Highlanders wore the tunics throughout the Middle Ages and right up until the end of the 16th Century,” he said.

Because Saffron was expensive, poor clansmen dyed the linen with horse urine or bark and crushed leaves to get the rich yellow colour.

On top of the leine croich, they would wear a deerskin or cowhide jerkin, which would be waxed or dipped in pitch to make it waterproof.

According to Dr Clare Downham of Aberdeen University said that Cannan’s analysis fitted with her own knowledge of Celtic Scotland.

“The tartan kilt as we know it today is part of a romantic and more modern imagining of Scotland’s past,” she said. (ANI)

Man U fans no fans of new look rugby league-style kit

London, June 26 (ANI): Manchester United fans want their new rugby league-style kit seriously touched up before it goes on sale next month.

United fan Nick Cooper said: “It looks more like a rugby league strip. It also looks a bit American. I’ve not been a fan of the United kits for years.”

The shirt’s design is a tribute to the shirt worn in 1909-10 when Old Trafford opened, The Sun reports.

“It won’t do anything for Wayne Rooney! It’s something you’d expect to see on a rugby league player,” Red Devils fan Jim Ferry said.

Rooney said: “I think the kits are really nice. It’s always exciting to see the new kit and I’m excited about playing in it.”

Ji-Sung Park said: “I like to think of it as V for victory and hopefully we can win every game we play in the new kits!” (ANI)

Roger Federer’s dazzling gold look for Wimbledon campaign

London, June 23 (ANI): Roger Federer was seen clad in dazzling white jacket with Army-style raised collar and smart white trousers, when he opened his Wimbledon campaign on Monday.

The Swiss tennis ace, who is aiming for his sixth men’s singles title, greeted fans at Centre Court in a military-style uniform.

Federer teamed his gold-trim jacket with a white and gold kitbag, matching the gold swishes on his Nike shoes.

The jacket, with a stand-up collar, epaulettes and golden zip, was monogrammed with his initials RF in gold.

It went over a white gold-trimmed waistcoat, which itself hid a white T-shirt, with another gold RF.

According to the Daily Express, when asked about his glitzy style, Federer said: “I went for a modern military look. I hope people like it.”

On court, Federer stormed through his first match, beating Yen-Hsun Lu from Taipei. (ANI)

Callous Kasab asked to stop laughing or face Dara Singh

Mumbai, June 22 (ANI): The lone surviving gunman behind the Mumbai terror attacks, Ajmal Amir Kasab, has been reprimanded by lawyers for laughing during the court proceedings, and recently a lawyer asked him to be serious or else he would call Dara Singh.

Kasab is the gunman captured alive during the terrifying three days beginning November 26, 2008, when 10 men arrived in Mumbai by boat and attacked 10 sites, killing more than 170 people. His trial, on charges of terrorism, criminal conspiracy and waging war against the state, began two months ago.

He has drawn reprimands from the lawyers for laughing, although they have also nicknamed him “the short one” and occasionally joke with him.

On Thursday, when he was laughing at their banter, prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam turned to him and said: “Don’t laugh. Be serious. Otherwise I will call Dara Singh,” a reference to the legendary Indian wrestler often invoked by parents to keep their children quiet. Kasab laughed even more.

Last Monday, 27 photographs taken at the station on 26/11 were shown to the court, including a widely published image of a man identified as Kasab in cargo pants and a black T-shirt, toting a blue backpack and holding an AK-47, The Washington Post reported.

A police official said that Kasab hung his head low in court and that tears welled over. The judge asked him whether he was crying, but Kasab did not respond, just wiped his face. Nikam dismissed the reaction as “crocodile tears.”

“Kasab is a trained commando. No question of remorse. He plays the psychological game. He smiles, looks innocent or pretends to shed tears. These are tricks to get media sympathy,” he said.

Abbas Kazmi, Kasab’s attorney, said his client is becoming “increasingly gloomy” and has “a sense of hopelessness written all over his face.”

When the trial began in April, Kasab, speaking through his attorney, pleaded not guilty and sought to retract his confession, saying it was made under duress, the paper said.

The trial is conducted mostly in English and Marathi, the official language of Maharashtra state, neither of which Kasab knows well. He often looks bored or bewildered, but when witnesses recount the horrors of that November night, he appears to try hard to follow. (ANI)

Yoko Ono holds back tears at press unveiling of Lennon’s NY exhibition

Washington, May 12 (ANI): John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono kept her tears from pouring while speaking about a forthcoming New York exhibition in honour of the late Beatle.

The exhibition, entitled John Lennon: The New York City Years, will feature the singer’s personal possessions public for the first time at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex.

Items like guitars, a posthumous Grammy Award, and the star’s iconic New York City T-shirt are set to go on public display.

And Ono, who held herself together while discussing Lennon’s love for the city in which he was murdered, continues to get upset when the tragedy is mentioned.

“It (the bag) was hard to include. And I thought it might be criticised as well,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“I know it’s a kind of a sad and very poignant kind of paradox that he loved this place so much and this is where he was killed. I still get affected by it. If it (his death) was a slow a process we could have talked about it or something,” she said. (ANI)

Hugh Jackman’s son embarrasses him yet again at basketball game

Washington, May 11 (ANI): Aussie actor Hugh Jackman has revealed that his son has once again managed to embarrass him during a basketball game – by rooting for the wrong team.

Jackman, 40, had been invited to take his 9-year-old son Oscar to a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, but was left red-faced after his son decided to cheer the visiting Denver Nuggets.

The actor also revealed that the young lad had previously ruined a trip to see the Los Angeles Lakers late last year when he spilled candy all over the court.

“We were courtside… and he was sort of into it. He said, ‘Dad, who’s everyone going for?’ And I said, ‘Well, we’re in New York… Everyone traditionally will go for New York.’ He goes, ‘Right, go Nuggets, go the Nuggets’,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“They scored and won the game… and we were given a whole load of swag by the Knicks to kind of shut him up… He had the (Knicks) hat in his hand and every time the Knicks scored, he’s like, ‘No, I hate Knicks (banging it on the floor)’,” he added.

Even all the free stuff the Knicks’ marketing bosses gave could not shut little Oscar up, and he was elated when at the end of the game Nuggets star J.R. Smith gifted him his shirt.

“He came over at the end and took his shirt off… and gave it to Oscar. That’s how big a fan he was,” the actor revealed.

“It came down to his ankles, like a dress (and) he wore that home… I thought we were going to get beaten up,” he added. (ANI)

Oz mag aimed at pre-teen girls raises stink

Melbourne, May 10 (ANI): A new magazine published by Australian Consolidated Press, SHOP Girl targeting girls aged seven to 12 has raised community concern.

The mag, an extension of Australia’s top-selling fashion magazine Shop Til You Drop, SHOP Girl, will be launched as a one-off magazine in September, and its editor has said it aims at helping parents cope with the demands of shopping for “tween-agers”.

“As anyone with pre-teen daughters knows, it’s not easy to find a balance between how girls today want to dress and how we want them to dress,” the Age quoted the magazine’s editor, Justine Cullen, as saying.

“SHOP Girl will be a magazine designed for mothers and daughters to pore over together and find a middle ground, making shopping easier for time-poor parents and more fun for everyone,” she said.

But the concept has been seen as a cynical marketing ploy aimed at manipulating young girls by Young Media Australia president Jane Roberts.

“We are pretty disappointed about this, to put it mildly,” she said.

“SHOP Girl is nothing but a manipulative way of getting to seven-to-12-year-old girls to bombard them with advertising.

“It is hard to see how this magazine will support the mental health and wellbeing of young girls,” she stated.

Roberts criticised the narrow scope of the magazine, which offers advice on fashion, accessories, beauty products, gadgets and games.

“We want seven-to-12-year-old girls to hear healthy messages and be exposed to positive role models,” she said.

“Being a girl is not just about what you look like, what clothes you are wearing and what possessions you have. Girls can aspire to so much more than that,” she added.

According to ACP’s research, there are about 1.1 million tween-age girls and 1.48 million mothers of children aged eight to 13 in Australia. In the past month, these families have spent 57 million dollars on children’s clothes and 60.2 million dollars on children’s shoes.

Australian Retailers Association executive director Richard Evans agreed that children represented an important market for retailers.

“Girls stereotypically have a desire to have more variety in their wardrobes as opposed to boys who are happy to wear the same pair of jeans and a T-shirt,” he said.

“In that age group there is a lot of peer group pressure to look a certain way in terms of styling and pressure on parents as well.

“It seems that parents spend a lot more time choosing clothes for their daughters than they do for their sons,” he added. (ANI)

Giggs ready to re-enact 1999 goal celebrations against Gunners

London, Apr.28 (ANI): Ryan Giggs is ready to re-enact one of the most famous goal celebrations in history.

It is 10 years since Giggs skipped past four players on a 60-yard run before smashing in a sensational late goal to beat Arsenal in the FA Cup semi-final at Villa Park.

The Welsh wizard was so overcome by the emotion of the occasion that he whipped his shirt off, whirling it round his head and kept running all the way back to the half-way line.

Giggs admits he might just expose that rippling torso all over again if he gets the winner against the Gunners which clinches United’s place in the Champions League final in Rome.
Recalling that amazing night in 1999, Giggs said: “It was a great moment for me personally and for the team. It was a massive turning point in the season that ended in the Treble. That’s what football is all about. You never know what’s going to happen next. I used to say I would never do it again but you never know. If you score an important winning goal again in the last minute you might just do it.”

At the venerable age of 35, Giggs remains a key figure in United’s assault on the Quadruple.

He has spent more than 20 years at Old Trafford and his PFA award from his fellow pros is a fitting tribute to a magnificent career. (ANI)
