Writers hired for “Green Lantern 2″ and “Flash”

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – “Green Lantern” is a year away from release, but Warner Bros. already is starting development on a sequel.

Film

The studio has hired Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, all of whom worked on the “Lantern” screenplay, to write a treatment for the second installment.

The trio will also write the treatment for the silver-screen incarnation of “The Flash.”

Under the deal, they would then go on to write the screenplay for one of the two projects, though which one has not been determined.

“Lantern” is shooting in New Orleans under the direction of Martin Campbell with Ryan Reynolds starring as the emerald ring-wielding DC Comics superhero who is part of an intergalactic police force known as the Green Lantern Corps.

Development on a second installment this far out from a movie’s release date is rare, signaling the studio’s confidence in what it sees so far.

Berlanti, creator of “Everwood,” recently directed the feature “Life as We Know it,” starring Katherine Heigl, and is a showrunner on ABC’s “Brothers and Sisters.” He co-created “Eli Stone” with Guggenheim, who is exec producing ABC’s upcoming superhero drama “No Ordinary Family,” starring Michael Chiklis. Green worked with Berlanti on “Everwood.”

Why Ryan Reynolds perfected kissing technique for films

London, July 7 (ANI): Actor Ryan Reynolds has said that he mastered the technique of kissing to avoid making filmgoers turn away in disgust.

The ‘Proposal’ star, who shares the frame with the pal Sandra Bullock in the film, revealed that a disastrous moment early in his career made him realise the importance of kissing convincingly.

“It is strange (kissing a friend). A kissing scene in a movie has to be very elegant I think. You know, you don’t want to go at each other like a couple of farm animals. You want to make it nice and palatable for an audience,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

“Early in my career I worked with an actress and she kind of went for it a little bit too much. I remember that, and we had to save it for the end… At the end of the scene I was standing in her stomach… and I was a little uncomfortable with that, so that ruined our chemistry. But Sandy and I, we just have this kind of firework thing that we’re really grateful we have,” he added. (ANI)

Sandra Bullock has deadly well of evil in her, jokes co-star Ryan Reynolds

The actor, who plays assistant Andrew Paxton to the actress’ character Margaret Tate, said that Sandra was quite a natural in playing the catty character.

“There is a bottomless well of evil in her. It could unleash at any moment, froth over and kill you all,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

The beauty was no less mischievous when questioned about her character.

She told BANG Showbiz: “The inspiration for Margaret? You know what? I’m a b***h. In real life, I am a b***h. I am an actress and I act nice and play nice.”

She added: “Honestly, it was written up well, and when something is written like that you just bring little details and characters that you thing will help a bit.” (ANI)

Sandra Bullock feared shooting nude scene with pal Ryan Reynolds

London, July 5 (ANI): Sandra Bullock says that her nude scene with Hollywood pal Ryan Reynolds in ‘The Proposal’ could destroy their close friendship.

The two of them have known each other for nine years, and even enjoyed holidays together with Bullock’s husband Jesse James and the ‘Wolverine’ star’s wife Scarlett Johansson.nd the ‘Speed’ star’s friendship with Reynolds was put to test when they had to bare all in a sex scene for their new movie.

While the filming for the scene lasted three days, Bullock has claimed that working together with such a close friend helped her make it more convincing.

“You know, when I read it, it read hilariously… we knew we had to be true to it, we didn’t pretend to shoot naked because, like, when you see someone get out of a bed with a sheet… you go ‘it’s a sheet!’ So we knew that in order for it to be truly funny we had to do it naked and it was three days of stunts – it was virtually naked stunt work,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

She added: “But I did it with a friend and he was very protective over me, and I of him, and thankfully our friendship left stronger and not destroyed… as it could have been.” (ANI)

Sandra insists she agreed to strip off for the movie as the scene, which sees the pair accidentally bump into each other while both are nude, was funny rather than romantic.

“I’ve done those scenes that are supposed to be sexy and they’re just not,” Contactmusic quoted her as having told BANG Showbiz.

“The full naked body, especially the men, and I hate to say it, a full frontal is not that funny or sexy. But you hide a little something between us men and women and it becomes sexy, it’s sexier,” she added. (ANI)

Sandra Bullock grateful her “jiggling” butt was cut from ‘The Proposal’

Washington, June 19 (ANI): Sandra Bullock is glad that her “jiggling” butt has been edited out from a nude scene in new movie, ‘The Proposal’.

The actress was bothered about unflattering areas of her body being revealed in a scene where her co-star Ryan Reynolds smacks her bare back.

“I was really worried about my butt jiggling when contact was made. Luckily, the director was a fellow female and knew just how to cut the scene before the ripple effect happened. I am very grateful,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

The beauty has never been apprehensive of a bold scene- while filming the first nude scene in her career a strategically placed cover-up had fallen away, but that did not embarrass her.

Recollecting the incident, she said: “Shooting it was odd. There are things stuck to areas that generally you don’t have things stuck to. I mean, you have things covering your body, but not stuck to it. And then they got unstuck, and oddly we didn’t care because we were so tired.” (ANI)

Ryan Reynolds still buzzing over Samuel L. Jackson’s ‘beehive’ wedding gift

Washington, June 19 (ANI): Film and TV star Ryan Reynolds is still buzzing over a beehive full of the singing insects that he got as a wedding gift from Samuel L. Jackson last year.

The actor had asked celebrity guests to forgo showering them with wedding gifts when he married Hollywood siren Scarlett Johansson in a remote location just outside of his native Vancouver, Canada, in September last year.

He has revealed that he was shocked to find a box of bees left in his backyard.

“Someone came to my door and said, ‘I have a gift for you in my trunk from Samuel L. Jackson.’ He comes back from the trunk and it’s humming an insane degree. And he tells me, ‘Mr. Jackson would like you to have this beehive.’ So he hands me a couple of beekeeping outfits and a lifetime subscription to the Beekeepers Journal. And the next thing I know, I’m making honey,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

Reynolds, however, now feels that Jackson has provided him with an excellent way to scare away unwanted visitors.

“It’s actually a great security system. Some people are afraid of security systems, some people afraid of guard dogs, but I don’t know anyone who’s not afraid of swarms of bees,” he says. (ANI)
