Produce GCM documents of Samba spy case, Tribunal to Army

The Armed Forces Tribunal on Monday asked the Army to produce court martial documents of five soldiers punished for their involvement in the over 30-year-old sensational Samba spy case.

In the case, around 50 personnel of 168 Brigade deployed along the Line of Control were punished after being accused of spying for Pakistan on the basis of statements of former gunners Sarwan Dass and Aya Singh.

The Tribunal Bench headed by Justice S S Kulshreshtha asked the Army to produce the general court martial (GCM) documents of gunners Banarasi Das, Milkhi Ram, Satpal, Harish Singh and Balkar Singh, who have served jail terms, before it by June 30.

The appeals of the soldiers who are seeking to get their names cleared were among the cases transferred from the High Court to the Tribunal after it was launched in August last year.

The Tribunal said failure to produce the documents would draw an “adverse inference” about Army’s contention in the case.

“This is the first time in over 30 years since the case came up that we would get to see the court martial documents. I am hopeful that this will make it easier for us to get justice,” counsel for the five gunners Deepak Bhattacharya said.

In the case of two other accused Captain A K Rana and Captain R S Rathore, whose pleas are still pending in the Supreme Court, the Tribunal said it would hear their case on September 7.

Rana said that he and Captain Rathore were cleared by the Delhi High Court in 2000, but the verdict was challenged by the Army in the Supreme Court.

After the HC verdict, they filed pleas seeking compensation for the jail term served by them which have also been transferred to the Tribunal.

Nankana Sahib residents demand action against criminals by Pak Punjab govt

Lahore, May 19 (ANI): Hundreds of protesters in Nankana Sahib demonstrated outside the Punjab Governor’s residence demanding immediate action against a criminal gang, which has killed about a dozen people in the region.

Angry protestors blocked the road in front of the Governor’s House for several hours with the body of one Muhammed Shafi, who is said to have been killed by the criminal gang.

Later, on the assurance of local Member of National Assembly (MNA) Rana Arshad the mob agreed to end their protest.

Arshad assured the aggrieved family that the provincial government had already announced a head money of 300,000 rupees on the accused and that he would personally pursue the case to ensure that justice is delivered.

Shafi’s close relative Shahid Nawaz told The Daily Times that they have filed several cases against one Sarfaraz Ishtiaq, a noted criminal of the region who is believed to have murdered Shafi, but the police have failed to take any action in this regard. (ANI)

He said that that Himachal Cricket Association president and M P Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency had discussed the setting up a wrestling stadium in Himachal so that the state’s wrestlers could learn WWE wrestling techniques.

Khali expressed his consent for the same, he said that Thakur had promised that land would be provided for this venture.

On the subject of returning to India permanently, Khali maintained that he was at the peak of physical fitness and wants to continue wrestling for the next 6-7 years.

Khali is a well known face in the US having worked for Hollywood movies, he will make his Hindi movie debut with “Khushi” slated for release on May 14, mynews.com reports.

Prosecutors object Rana’s plea seeking more details

Federal prosecutors here have objected to terror suspect Tahawwur Rana’s demand for specific details about his involvement in Indian and Danish terror plots, saying the government has already provided “more than sufficient” information to prepare his defence for trial.

In a 12-page response to Rana’s pre-trial motions, the government said it has provided and will continue to provide “extensive discovery” relating to Rana’s conduct, including his interactions with co-defendant David Headley and his own actions taken to assist Headley in carrying out conspiracies.

“Thus, based on the adequacy of the indictment and the extensive pretrial disclosures undertaken by the government, the defendant has more than sufficient information from which to conduct his own investigation and prepare his defence.

“Accordingly, the Court should deny the defendant’s motion for a bill of particulars,” the government’s response submitted in the US District Court here said.

Prosecutors said a defendant has a “constitutional right to know the offence with which he is charged, but not to know the details of how it will be proved”.

Rana’s lawyer Patrick Blegen had in February filed motions asking prosecutors to provide a “bill of particulars” – specific details about the “material support and resources” that the superseding indictment allege the Pakistani-Canadian had provided to terrorist plots in India and Denmark.

Blegen had said the government should identify the material support and resources that Rana and co-conspirators allegedly provided regarding terrorism in India. He said he needed the information to adequately prepare for trial.

Responding to the motions, prosecutors said the information already provided to Rana includes copies of recorded conversations and emails between Headley, Rana and other participants in the conspiracies; complete video-taped post-arrest statements of Rana and Headley, reports relating to Headley’s proffer, Headley’s testimony before the grand jury, evidence obtained through grand jury subpoenas and evidence seized during search warrants executed at multiple locations.

“To date, the government estimates that it has provided over 20,000 documents, in addition to the various recordings and draft transcripts,” the motion said.

Prosecutors said Rana simply looks past the specific allegations of the superseding indictment and says little about the extensive discovery that has been provided, claiming that the superseding indictment lists only “broad categories”.

“By seeking more particularity, the defendant essentially is requesting the government to point to the particular evidence of each allegation. This is not a proper purpose of a bill of particulars,” it said.

A bill of particulars is not necessary in this case not only because the superseding indictment provides far more detail than necessary to apprise the defendant of the charges against him, but also because the government is providing extensive discovery relating to such charges, the response said.

Blegen said he is seeking the information so that Rana is “sufficiently apprised” of the scope of the government’s allegations and is “adequately prepared” for trial.

Rana has pleaded not guilty to charges that he provided material support to the Mumbai terror strikes as well as a plot to attack a Danish newspaper

Labourers rescued from debris in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 26 (ANI): Rescue workers extracted labourers who got buried under the debris of a newly-constructed four-storey building in New Delhi on Sunday.

The building collapsed at Sector 6 of Rohini area where some labourers were giving final touches to it.

“We heard a loud sound and within 2-3 seconds the building collapsed. It became all dusty after that and we could not make out what exactly happened. People panicked; they thought it might be an earthquake, they later realized that a building has collapsed,” Rahul, a local.

A local legislator, along with police officials reached the site to oversee the rescue work.

“Three people have been taken out safely it was a miraculous escape for them. Portion of the debris has been removed. Two more people are expected to be buried inside and we pray that they are also taken out safely,” said Kulwant Rana, MLA the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Police, meanwhile, have ordered a probe into the incident.(ANI)

Chidambaram asks agencies to be prepared to question Headley

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Saturday asked the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and all concerned agencies to quickly prepare necessary documents to question Lashkar operative David Coleman Headley aka Daood Gilani.

In a statement issued here, Chidambaram said: “I have today directed NIA and the other Agencies concerned in the case to quickly prepare the documents necessary to start a judicial proceeding in which Indian Authorities could require David Coleman Headley to answer questions or to testify.”

On Thursday, Headley pleaded guilty before a Chicago court, admitting he had scouted for targets ahead of a brazen terrorist attack on Mumbai on 26 November 2008.

Under the plea bargain, Headley has escaped the death penalty. He also cannot be extradited from the US to India, Pakistan or Denmark.

The NIA had registered a report against Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana on November 11, 2009.

Chidambaram expressed confidence that India would be able to obtain access to Headley.

“It is my understanding that India would be able to obtain access to David Coleman Headley to question him in a properly constituted judicial proceeding,” Chidambaram said.

“Such judicial proceeding could be either pre-trial or during an inquiry or trial. It is also my understanding that David Coleman Headley is obliged to cooperate fully and truthfully in such proceedings,” he added.

Chidambaram’s expression came after a telephonic conversation with US Government’s Attorney General Eric Holder on Friday evening.

Chidambaram said that during the conversation, Holder drew his attention to a portion under the chapter “cooperation,” in which Headley agreed to truthfully participate in any foreign judicial proceedings held in US soil.

“Defendant agrees that, when directed by the United States Attorney’s Office, he will fully and truthfully participate in any debriefings for the purpose of gathering intelligence or national security information,” cooperation chapter stated.

“Defendant further agrees that, when directed by the United States Attorney’s Office, he will fully and truthfully testify in any foreign judicial proceedings held in the United States by way of deposition, video conferencing or letters rogatory,” statement added.

The chapter further states that “Defendant agrees to the postponement of his sentencing until after the conclusion of his cooperation.”

Chidambaram said Rana’s plea agreement is of enormous significance and is most damning indictment of the role played by certain persons in Pakistan.

In his plea agreement, Headley has admitted to conspiring with LeT members A, B, C and D and receiving instructions from them.

He has also admitted to attending training camps organised by the LeT on five separate occasions and meeting in Pakistan with various co-conspirators including but not limited to LeT members.

Headley, in his guilty plea also admitted to being privy to the attacks planned in Mumbai and the despatch of a team of attackers by sea.

“The plea agreement should spur Pakistan to take action against all the conspirators and bring them to justice. Nothing short of that will be acceptable to India or will satisfy world opinion,” Chidambaram said.

Pakistan was in a state of denial for many months after the attacks of 26/11.

Thereafter, grudgingly and bowing to the pressure applied by India through the dossiers and otherwise, Pakistan initiated proceedings against a few of the persons involved in the conspiracy, even while key conspirators are still at large. (ANI)

PCB boss Butt appoints controversial ‘close friend’ Yawar Saeed as team manager

Lahore, Mar.19 (ANI): Notwithstanding previous controversies, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt has appointed his ‘close friend’ Yawar Saeed as the manager of the national squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Championship, which would be held in the Caribbean from April 30 to May 16.

Announcing an eight-man support staff that would accompany the team during the tournament, Butt named Shafqat Rana as Saeed’s deputy, The Daily Times reports.

Saeed, 75, was in the limelight when former captain Younis Khan had complained against him for creating camps in the team and rifts among players during the ICC champions Trophy last year.

Saeed was also in the six-member inquiry committee that axed Younis from all formats of the game for an indefinite period and recommended heavy fines and punishments to six other senior Pakistan players, including the incumbent captain Mohammed Yousuf.

Pak team’s support staff for ICC T20 World Cup:

Yawar Saeed (manager), Shafqat Rana (associate manager), Waqar Younis (coach), Ijaz Ahmed (assistant coach), Faisal Hayat (physiotherapist), David Dwyer (trainer), Mohammad Talha Butt (analyst) and Khawaja Najam (security manager). (ANI)

India can quiz 26/11 convict Headley in US

Chicago, Mar 19 (ANI): Despite Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) operative David Coleman Headley being assured about no extradition to India, the Indian authorities can have access to him in the United States and question him with respect to all the charges levelled on him.

Headley, who has been charged by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for conspiring in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, has pleaded guilty to all 12 charges levelled against him in a US court.

It is reported that Headley struck a deal with US prosecutors, which concludes him not being extradited to India and not receiving the death penalty.

The admissions were made as part of a plea agreement that brought U.S. prosecutors one of the most significant convictions since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, with Headley agreeing to testify against his Canadian co-accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana in exchange for being spared the death penalty or future extradition to India.

The agreement says that when directed by the United States Attorney”s Office, he will fully and truthfully testify in any foreign judicial proceedings held in the United States by way of deposition, video-conferencing or letters rogatory.

This indicates that he can be questioned in the United States under American supervision.

Union Home Secretary G K Pillai had on Thursday said that India would lodge a protest if Headley is let off lightly, adding that New Delhi would continue to demand access Headley.

Forty-nine-year-old Headley is accused of being a scout for the deadly 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in which at least 166 people, including six Americans, were killed and for a plot to kill a Danish cartoonist. (ANI)

Pak team manager says he never complained against any player

Lahore, Mar. 15 (ANI): Pakistani cricket team’s manager Abdul Raquib has claimed that he never complained about the conduct of any player to the Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB).

“I never reported Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Yousuf, Younus Khan, Rana Navedul Hasan, Kamran Akmal for any disciplinary issue in my tour report,” the Daily Times quoted Raquib, as saying.

“I don’t know on what basis the Board has taken such strong action against these players but it seems to me that the Board is perhaps settling personal scores or simply taking out their frustration on these players,” he added.

Raquib, however, said he had mentioned an incident in which he fined Umar Akmal for giving an unauthorised interview.

“I also mentioned in my report that I felt that Mohammad Yousuf on the tour had been a very defensive captain at times and that affected performance of the team at crucial times,” he said.

Raquib said he never lodged any complaint against any other player in his report.

“I fail to understand why Younus has been dropped for indefinite period because he was not part of the team for better part of the twin-tour. Younus has been the victim of controversies and intrigues and I don’t know why they axed him,” Raquib said. (ANI)

Culture of infighting in Pak cricket must stop: Mudassar Nazar

Islamabad, Mar.13 (ANI): Backing the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision of banning senior players and imposing hefty fines on some of the others, former captain and coach Mudassar Nazar has said that the culture of infighting in the national squad must stop.

Nazar, who is currently working for the ICC as one of the coaches at their Global Cricket Academy in Dubai, blamed dressing room politics for Younis Khan’s sudden resignation from captaincy in November last year.

Younis had stepped down ahead of the New Zealand tour last year following match-fixing allegations levelled against him by the chairman of Parliament’s Standing Committee on Sports Jamshed Dasti.

“The real reasons were more “close to home” and involved team mates plotting against him,” Nazar, the veteran of nearly 200 international matches, said.

“Never mind the politicians suggestions of match fixing, it was his team mates that made Younis” mind up to resign as captain. The damage to Younis was done in the dressing room and not in the corridors of power. This whole culture of infighting has to stop,” Nazar told PakPassion.net.

He also asked the PCB to make the enquiry committee’s report public, based on which it imposed hefty fines and ban on players.

“The report should have been made public, because as things stand, we are all unsure of why exactly the likes of Yousuf, Malik, Rana and Younis have been punished,” Nazar said. (ANI)

Pak Interior Minister meets Indian envoy, discusses 26/11 probe and aftermath

Islamabad, Sep.19 (ANI): Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday met with India;s High Commissioner to Pakistan, Sharad Sabharwal, and reportedly discussed the progress being made in the 26/11 probe..

Sources also said that there is a likelihood of Pakistan framing charges against the seven accused.

Malik is due to address a press conference later in the evening, during which he is expected to reveal the content of his discussions with Sabharwal.

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court here, which is conducting the trial of seven suspects linked with the Mumbai terror attacks of November 2008, including LeT operations commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, on Saturday adjourned the hearing of the case till September 26.

No other details of the proceedings were available due to a strict media blackout imposed by Judge Baqir Ali Rana, who is conducting the trial inside the high-security Adiala Jail in the garrison city of Rawalpindi due to security reasons.

The hearings are being conducted in-camera and Rana has issued a gag order, citing national security concerns as well as the security of the accused and witnesses.

It is still not clear whether the seven accused have been formally indicted, though authorities have prepared two chargesheets against them.

Lawyers representing the accused said they had been directed by the judge to strictly adhere to the gag order and not to discuss the proceedings with the media.

Five LeT operatives Lakhvi, communications expert Zarar Shah, Abu al-Qama, Hamad Amin Sadiq and Shahid Jamil Riaz being tried by the anti-terrorism court.

They have been accused of providing training, financial support, accommodation, equipment and communications gear to the 10 terrorists who attacked Mumbai last year.

No details are available of the charges against the two other suspects, Jamil Ahmed and Younas Anjum.

Meanwhile, a lawyer representing Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed has said the two cases filed against his client are very weak and not sustainable in any court of law.

Saeed’s lawyer A K Dongar said the charges against his client were ridiculous. Dogar was referring to the two cases filed by Faisalabad Police – one relating to his sermon at the Royalton Hotel in Faisalabad’s Canal Road on August 27, and second for a speech at an Iftar dinner at Peoples Colony, Jaranwala Road Faisalabad on August 26, where he urged people to launch a holy war against those who’ve suppressed their rights.

“I have gone through both the FIRs against Saeed thoroughly. The charges against my client are very weak. He has expressed his views like any other Pakistani,” claimed Dogar.

According to the TIMES NOW television channel, two cases were registered against Saeed and one against his close aide Abu Jandal at police stations in Faisalabad, some 100 kilometers from Lahore.

On Friday, Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram said Islamabad must question Saeed, notwithstanding the fact that two cases had been filed against him that were not related to that tragic event.

Chidambaram said the authorities should avail the opportunity of questioning Saeed on the 26/11 episode also, once he is arrested.

“…I am told that it’s (FIRs agaisnt Hafiz Saeed) not related to the 26/11 attacks. Even if they apprehending him on some other charge, and use the opportunity to question him on his involvement in 26/11 attacks, that would be a significant progress in the case. I hope that they question him on 26/22 too,” Chidambaram told TIMES NOW after his US visit.

Insisting that Saeed should be tried for his involvement in the 26/11 terror attack, Chidambaram said: “There is no trial there. The trial has not started there. In fact, my complaint has been even before I visited the US, that we don’t have a date set for the trial and to best of the my knowledge, the first witness has not been examined.

Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna also asserted that the main agenda of his meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi in New York would be to pressurise Islamabad in taking action against perpetrators of last year’s Mumbai terror attack.

Krishna said this while speaking to media persons at Turkmen capital Ashgabat during his visit to that country on Friday.

“I cannot spell out what exactly I can expect from such meetings. But this much I can assure that my attempt would be to impress upon the Pakistan foreign minister the desirability of taking action against the brains behind the Mumbai attack,” said Krishna.

The Foreign Ministers of India and Pakistan and diplomats of the two nuclear-armed rivals are scheduled to meet in New York next week on the sidelines of the 64th session of the UN General Assembly. (ANI)

More Pak ICL players planning to discontinue their contract

Lahore, Aug.27 (ANI): After middle order batsman Mohammad Yousuf and bowling all-rounders Abdul Razzaq and Rana Nave-ul-Hassan parted ways from the Indian Cricket League (ICL) to represent their country once again, several other Pakistani cricketers are also thinking about ending their ties with the rebel league.

Hasan Raza, one of the 22 Pakistani players in the ICL, said former wicketkeeper captain Moin Khan would soon send a notice to the ICL asking it to release the cricketers.

“I think till the ICL lasted it worked for us and we benefitted from it financially. But now it is time to move on for us. After all, we still have a chance of representing our national team and domestic teams again,” Raza said.

Raza said ICL’s future was uncertain so the players wanted to return to the national team or seek some other assignment.

“We have still not received some dues from the ICL for the last few months and the ICL future is also uncertain,” The Daily Times quoted Raza, as saying. (ANI)

Amphibians like to mate under a full Moon

London, July 14 (ANI): Scientists have discovered that amphibians around the world synchronize their mating activity by the full Moon.

According to a report by BBC News, this global phenomenon has never been noticed before, but frogs, toads and newts all like to mate by moonlight.

The animals use the lunar cycle to co-ordinate their gatherings, ensuring that enough males and females come together at the same time.

In doing so the creatures maximize their spawning success and reduce their odds of being eaten.

Biologist Rachel Grant of the Open University, UK, was studying salamanders near a lake in central Italy for her PhD in 2005 when she noticed toads all over the road, under a full Moon.

“Although this might have been a coincidence, the following month I went along the same route every day at dusk and found that the numbers of toads on the road increased as the Moon waxed, to a peak at full Moon, and then declined again,” she said.

A review of the scientific literature found little mention of any similar records, so Grant returned to the same site in 2006 and 2007 to survey the amphibians in more detail.

She then collated her data with a 10-year analysis of the mating habits of frogs and toads at a pond near Oxford, UK, collected by her supervisor Tim Halliday, and with data on toads and newts living in Wales collected by colleague Elizabeth Chadwick from Cardiff University, UK.

“We analysed the data, and found a lunar effect at all three sites,” Grant said.

For example, the common toad (Bufo bufo) arrives at all its breeding sites, mates and spawns around the full Moon. The common frog (Rana temporaria) also spawns around the time of the full Moon.

“Newts also seem to be affected by the lunar cycle but the results are less clear,” said Grant.

Newt arrivals peak during both the full and new moons.

The researchers have also looked at historical data collected in Java on the Javanese toad and found that it too mates by the lunar cycle, with females ovulating on or near to the full Moon.

“We now have evidence of lunar cycles affecting amphibians in widespread locations. We definitely think that Moon phase has been an overlooked factor in most studies of amphibian reproductive timing,” said Grant.

“We think this may be a worldwide phenomenon. However, differences between species in ecology and reproductive strategy may mean that not all amphibians are affected in the same way. This is something we would like to investigate further,” she added. (ANI)

Pak women become cautious after a legislator steals credit cards to buy jewellery

Lahore, July 14 (ANI): Women from all strata of Pakistani society have become cautious after a woman legislator belonging to PML-N Shumaila Rana allegedly stole credit cards and bought jewellery and clothes worth Rs 80,000 with it.

Police sources said the three PPC sections 420, 468 and 471 were added to the case of MPA Shumaila Rana for committing fraud and cheating the complainant woman.

Earlier, the case was registered against the accused MPA only under section 379 of PPC. he police investigators found fake signatures of the MPA on the receipt she received from a jewellery shop after purchasing jewellery on the stolen credit cards, the sources said.

Women visiting different health clubs, beauty parlours and gyms have demanded provision of separate lockers for the safety of their stuff, the Daily Times reported.

Zaib, a swimming pool and gym in-charge at a local club in Gulberg told Aaj Kal that Shumaila had committed a shameful act.

She accused the media of blowing the incident out of proportion and hence casting a bad impression on the viewers abroad.

Zaib said after the incident, women coming to the health club had become suspicious of fellow visitors.

She said most of the women coming to such clubs were well off and carried jewellery, cash and ATM cards in their bags.

Previously, the members would put away their stuff without any fear, but now they had become very cautious and demanded separate lockers, Zaib said.

“We will have to fulfil this genuine demand of our members in a next couple of days,” she added. (ANI)

Pak to address India’s concerns ahead of NAM summit

Islamabad, July 6 (ANI): Pakistan has indicated that it was attaching immense importance in its meeting with India on the sidelines of Non-Aligned Movement summit in the resort of Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, and is looking to make an all out effort to address New Delhi’s concerns.

Foreign secretaries’ of the two countries are to hold talks on the sidelines of the July 14-15 summit.

Islamabad has indicated that it is attaching immense importance to the meetings. The foreign secretaries’ talks are particularly being touted as critical for the revival of the stalled peace process.

“We are looking forward to these two important meetings and we will see what is the outcome of the foreign secretaries’ meeting,” said Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit.

Diplomatic sources say Pakistan would be attempting to come out with a trajectory for future meetings.

India had suspended the Composite Dialogue with Pakistan following the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist strikes and since then, there has been little official contact between both sides, the Dawn reports.

Pakistan has already submitted an appeal with the Supreme Court against the release of Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed and appointed Baqir Ali Rana as judge for Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court-II.

The appeal against Hafiz Saeed’s release on Lahore High Court orders last month would be technically filed on Monday after the ‘numbering’ of petition submitted on Saturday would be done by the apex court’s registrar’s office.

Meanwhile, the five accused are expected to be indicted when the hearing in the case resumes on July 18.

Observers believe this step is specifically meant to address Indian concerns about JuD chief’s release and the delay in prosecution of the five accused in Mumbai case because of absence of a judge in the court that was trying them. (ANI)

Pak parliamentary secretaries blame ‘old cars’ for hindering their work!

Lahore, June 25 (ANI): If one sees Pakistan parliamentary secretaries not performing their duties, blame their official cars for the slack work, as officials of the Punjab Assembly have asked the government to provide them brand new cars, because the old vehicles that they have been provided are hindering their work.

The Punjab Assembly Parliamentary Secretary, Sagheera Islam has asked the government to provide new vehicles to the secretaries to facilitate their hassle-free movement, as the old cars always remained out-of-order which hindered them from performing their duties

“The government can sell bullet-proof vehicles and buy us new cars. If this cannot be done, at least provide us mechanics,” Islam told the House.

Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the secretaries were provided cars which were two to three years old, and often required mechanical attention.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), Sheikh Allaudin, however, objected to the idea of buying new vehicles for the official, and said that the Senators should work and discuss issues regarding solving the number of problems that the people of the region are facing rather than spending money on their own luxury.

“The members have enough money and can buy vehicles on their own,” The Daily times quoted Allaudin, as saying.

Speaker Rana Iqbal also opined that MPAs should discuss the problems faced by the people, and should give suggestions on how to address them. (ANI)
