HARROGATE, England–(Business Wire)–
Nidd Vale, one of the UK`s longest-established motor groups, has announced the
appointment of a new Managing Director.
Neil Crossley has taken up his post and will be based at the company`s Harrogate
HQ, with responsibility for its dealerships in Harrogate, Wetherby and Ilkley.
A former professional golfer, Neil has built a highly successful career both
within and outside the motor industry. He joins Nidd Vale from his position as
Regional General Manager, Marshall Motor Group, and has wide experience with
PLCs and privately-owned organisations.
Nidd Vale is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, having been
incorporated in 1920 when it was based in Knaresborough and was an agent for
Vulcan cars and lorries, and Excelsior motor cycles.
Neil Crossley says: “It`s a privilege and also a great responsibility to join a
company that has such a fantastic heritage. It`s my belief that great customer
service is at the core of Nidd Vale`s success and that`s an area I`ll be looking
to further develop”.
“I believe that customers – whether private or commercial – need competitive
prices but they also need to keep their vehicles on the road. Product
reliability and fantastic after-sales support are priorities for us,” he says.
Group Chief Executive, Nigel Pullan, says: “We`re delighted to have such a
talented and experienced MD come on board. The past few years have been
difficult times for the motor trade but our customers have continued to value
what our great brand has to offer. Neil is the right person to take our business
to the next stage of its development.”
Nidd Vale currently holds franchises for sales and after-sales care of new and
pre-owned vehicles with Vauxhall, Mazda and Seat, and approved repairer status
for Saab and Peugeot.
Neil lives near Wakefield with his wife Jayne and a `very large` Boxer dog
called Rocco. A former professional golfer, he now plays social golf from a
handicap of 5 as an amateur.
