John Edwards” baby”s mum opens up to Oprah Winfrey

New York, April 29 (ANI): Former actress Rielle Hunter has opened up to talk show host Oprah Winfrey about the affair she had with ex-Presidential candidate John Edwards.

Hunter, 46, who had a child from Edwards, 56, revealed that he did not tell his wife Elizabeth, the full story about his affair with her, and that those who were really close to him did not want him to speak out.

“Everyone who was close to – well, who knew all the facts and knew the truth said, please don”t do that interview. Please don”t do that interview,” the New York Daily News quoted Hunter as telling Winfrey in an interview.

“Elizabeth really wanted him to do that interview. She wanted him to say, you know, you”ve got to get out in front of it. You”ve got to, you know, say the truth and speak the truth.

“And she didn”t know the truth. So it”s like you can”t do the interview and not speak the whole truth,” she told Winfrey.

In 2008, Edwards had told ABC”s Bob Woodruff he cheated on his wife, but said Hunter”s child was not his, and that he couldn”t be the father based on the timing of the baby”s birth.

At the time close aide, Andrew Young, had been fingered as the dad.

Edwards eventually admitted to paternity of the child after Young wrote a book detailing the scandal. Young also revealed the existence of a sex tape starring Edwards and Hunter.

Winfrey”s interview with Hunter lands almost a year after Elizabeth Edwards appeared on the popular daytime show to talk about her book and her marriage to Edwards.

Elizabeth told Winfrey then she had “no idea” whether her husband was a new dad at the time.

“So you just said she didn”t know the truth. She knew that there was the affair?” Winfrey asked Hunter.

“She didn”t know until after the interview,” Hunter said.

“He came clean with her after that interview,” she added. (ANI)

Elizabeth Edwards Expects DNA Test for Hunter’s Baby

Washington, Aug.21 (ANI): Elizabeth Edwards, the estranged wife of former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, said in an interview on Thursday that she expects some sort of paternity test to take place to determine if her husband is the father of his former mistress Rielle Hunter’s 18-month-old child.

Last night, when asked by CNN’s Larry King if DNA testing was going to happen, Elizabeth Edwards said “my expectation is that, at some point, something happens, and I hope for the sake of this child that it happens… in a quiet way.”

CBS affiliate WRAL reported last week that sources anticipate former Sen. Edwards will soon admit that he is the father of Hunter’s child. Last August, Sen. Edwards admitted to an affair with Hunter but said the child was not his.

Mrs. Edwards was on Larry King Live to primarily debate health care reform with former Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson, but she took a few personal questions.

She said “everything seems to be going pretty smoothly” at her house, where she is getting her children ready for the upcoming school year. King asked about her health-Mrs. Edwards is diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer-and she said she feels good and has “had recent tests that show me to be in pretty good health, all things considered.”

Meanwhile, John Edwards has said that he will move the mother of his love child into his North Carolina neighborhood so he can help raise their 18-month-old baby.

According to the National Enquirer, which was the first to crack the story on Edwards affair with campaign aide Rielle Hunter, the former candidate’s wife, Elizabeth Edwards, who is stricken with cancer, was furious when her husband told her of his parenting plans.

With a secret DNA test proving Edwards is the father of Hunter”s daughter, Frances, Edwards is expected to admit his paternity before the end of an ongoing criminal investigation into whether his campaign illegally paid her to keep quiet about their affair, according to a TV news station in North Carolina.

Hunter apparently agreed to testify to a federal grand jury investigating whether Edwards broke campaign finance law by paying “hush” money to Hunter and another aide who claimed paternity of the child. Hunter was spotted last week in Raleigh, N.C., entering a federal courthouse, where she spent nine hours.

Edwards has admitted to an affair with Hunter that he says ended in 2006. That year, Edwards” political action committee paid Hunter”s video production firm 100,000 dollars for work.

Then the committee paid another 14,086 dollars on April 1, 2007.

Edwards to move ex-mistress closer to help raise love child

DNA test confirms Edwards is father of campaign aide’s child

Washington, Aug 13 (ANI): Former US presidential candidate John Edwards is the father of the baby born from an affair with campaign videographer Reille Hunter.

A secret DNA test that was conducted after Hunter tried to get financial help from Edwards for the 18-month-old girl named Frances has proved correct, the National Enquirer reports.

Hunter apparently agreed to testify before a federal grand jury on whether Edwards broke a campaign finance law by paying hush money to Hunter and a former aide who had claimed paternity in Edwards’ stead.

Hunter was spotted last week in Raleigh, North Carolina, entering a federal courthouse, where she spent nine hours.

During a confessional interview with ABC News last summer, Edwards had adamantly denied fathering a child with Hunter, and welcomed a paternity test.

His wife, Elizabeth, has said while promoting her book that she doesn’t know if her husband is the father, FOX News reported.

Former Edwards’ aide Andrew Young, who made a similar courthouse visit while the grand jury was sitting last month, said in 2007 he was the child’s father. Hunter said around the same time that Young was the father and the birth certificate does not list a father’s name.

Edwards admitted to having an affair with Hunter, but says he ended it in 2006.

Now, John Edwards in ‘sex tape’ scandal

New York, June 29 (ANI): Former US presidential candidate John Edwards and his former mistress, Rielle Hunter, once recorded a sex tape, according to someone who has seen his former aide Andrew Young’s book proposal.

Young was reported to have signed a deal with St. Martin’s Press for his proposal, which allegedly includes his claim that married Edwards was the father of Hunter’s infant and not him – contrary to his public statement last year.

According to the book pitch, Young apparently found the purported tape featuring Edwards and Hunter engaged in sexual acts, reports the New York Daily News.

Young’s proposal was also said to include claims that Hunter confided to him that she and Edwards had conversations about getting married if the leader’s cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, died.

Edwards’ betrayed wife not sure whether he fathered mistress’s child

Washington, May 6 (ANI): Despite Democrat politician and former presidential candidate John Edwards’ denials that he fathered a baby with his onetime mistress, Rielle Hunter, his betrayed wife Elizabeth said she has “no idea” whether he is a new dad.

In an exclusive interview set to air Thursday, Oprah Winfrey asks Elizabeth Edwards about rampant speculation that Edwards is the father of campaign videographer Rielle Hunter’s one-year-old daughter.

“I’ve seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn’t look like my children, but I don’t have any idea,” Elizabeth Edwards told Winfrey.

Edwards talked about the state of her marriage, her husband’s infidelity and her ongoing battle with terminal cancer.

Last week, the Daily News published an exclusive report about Elizabeth Edwards’ new memoir “Resilience” in which recounts how she publicly stood by her cheating husband’s side in his failed presidential campaign.

Winfrey asked Edwards directly whether she’s still in love with her husband.

“You know, that’s a complicated question,” she said.

The couple is still living together in their 28,000-square-foot home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Asked if their relationship is day to day, Edwards replied, “Neither one of us is out the door so I guess it’s day by day, but maybe it’s month by month.”

In a portion of the interview that will be chronicled in the June issue of O magazine, Edwards offered an explanation for why her husband might have been attracted to Hunter.

“This person is very different from me, and really very different from him,” she said. “We’re basically old-fashioned people. So, this was a pretty big leap for him. Maybe it’s being so different is what was attractive.”

As she revealed in her memoir, Elizabeth Edwards told Winfrey she specifically requested fidelity from her husband when they married.

“I wanted him to be faithful to me – it was enormously important to me,” she said.

Edwards told Winfrey how Hunter used a tawdry pick-up line to lure her husband.

“What John said is that this woman spotted him in the hotel in which he was staying. He was meeting someone in the restaurant bar area and she verified with someone who he worked with that it was John,” she said.

“John went to dinner at a nearby restaurant and when he walked back to the hotel she was standing in front of the hotel. She said to him, ‘You are so hot.’”

Edwards, who has dealt with tragedy before when the couple’s 16-year-old son, Wade, died in an auto accident, said she is not scared of dying.

“It’s not as frightening,” she said. “If there’s an ever after – please, please, please – I would be leaving part of my family, but I can do and join another party, and wait for that day when we’re all together again. In some ways it’s something you yearn for.”

John Edwards did not publicly admit the affair with Hunter until last August – seven months after he quit the presidential race, and the National Enquirer had reported he was the father of Hunter’s daughter. (ANI)
