”Joe the Plumber” wins seat on Ohio GOP committee

Columbus (Ohio, US), May 6 (ANI): Samuel `Joe the Plumber’ Wurzelbacher, who stumped for Senator John McCain during the 2008 presidential campaign, is now a political player in Ohio.

According to the New York Daily News, Wurzelbacher won a seat on the local Republican Party committee in Toledo”s Lucas County.

He nabbed the seat, one of 400, with a 38-24 vote.

The group is responsible for selecting the county chairman and setting the party”s local agenda.

In 2008, Wurzelbacher was thrust into the spotlight when McCain referred to him as “Joe the Plumber” during a debate with then Senator Barack Obama.

Even though his name was not Joe, and he was not technically a plumber, he soon became a popular sound bite.

Wurzelbacher has turned his 15 minutes of fame into a political career.

He has written a book, “Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream,” and speaks at events around the country.

An effort to draft him to run for Congress last year ultimately fizzled out. (ANI)

Charlotte Church drops diamond engagement ring down plughole!

London, April 21 (ANI): Welsh singer/songwriter Charlotte Church is said to have flown into a tizzy when her new diamond engagement ring dropped down a plughole while she was washing her hands.

Church, 24, was left horrified when the ring disappeared in a bathroom basin at the Welsh farmhouse she shares with rugby star fiance Gavin Henson, who was not at home at the time.

Plumber Andy Ward was about to set off on holiday when he got the frantic call to Church’s 20-acre home at St Brides Major, near Bridgend.

“The ring was trapped in the U-bend and Andy found it within minutes. Charlotte was incredibly relieved,” the Mirror quoted a friend as saying.

The mum-of-two had been given the ring by Henson, 28, after her 24th birthday in February.

The two plan to marry on an island hideaway. (ANI)

James Bond fan builds fiery scooter

London, March 24 (ANI): Colin Furze drew inspiration from James Bond to design and install a rear facing flamethrower on his sports scooter – because he was sick and tired of drivers cutting him up.

The 30-year-old Furze from Stamford, Lincolnshire, took a month and three attempts to convert his 60mph sccoter into a complete road-rage revenge vehicle.

The flame-thrower, that springs into action by pressing a buitton on the handlebar, can produce a 15 foot jet of fire.

“It”s a lot of fun and when I fire the flames out the back it makes me feel just like James Bond,” the Telegraph quoted Furze, as saying.

He went on: “The flames are pretty big and up to 15 feet long so you could definitely set fire to someone”s car if you wanted to.

“The only problem is it can get rather hot if you are riding the moped and blast the flames when the wind is in the wrong direction.”

Furze, a plumber, first fixed the fiery gadget to a BMX bike and when it worked well he decided to try it on his scooter.

And now he has even attached a lever to it which allows him to change the angle of the flames.

Furze said: “It was quite tricky to make and the first version wouldn”t fire the flames when the moped was moving.

“My second attempt kept setting fire to itself, but my third version works really well and I”m very pleased with it.”

However, Furze will not be legally allowed to use the flame-thrower on the road.

He said: “I”ve been told that if I fire the flames while riding on the road it”s equivalent to using a fire arm and I could be in a lot of trouble.

“Unfortunately I won”t be able to ride it into the centre of town but it”s a lot of fun and I”ll use it off road.” (ANI)

When Aaron Eckhart bathed himself in his front yard!

London, September 19 (ANI): Actor Aaron Eckhart recently stripped to his undergarments in front of his neighbours as he took bath at his front yard in his Los Angeles home.

The ‘Paycheck’ star had returned from Louisiana after a shoot, when he realized that his plumber had not fixed waterworks in his house.

So Eckhart could only douse himself with the garden hose.
“I took a shower in my front yard because I’m doing a movie in Louisiana and I came here (to L.A.) and forgot that I had unleashed my plumber on my plumbing in my house so I have no water. I can’t use the toilet or anything like that.” Contactmusic quoted him as saying. (ANI)

‘Humiliated’ Brit woman to sue defence lawyer

Ahmedabad, Sep.18 (ANI): British molestation victim Kaya Elridge has said that she will sue defence lawyer Sanjay Prajapati for humiliating her Kaya in an open court.

Advocate Prajapati is likely to be slapped with a defamation suit.

Prajapati, however, told the Times Now television channel that he did everything for his client. He refused to comment on the case, as it was “sub-judice”.

Elridge, who was working as an NGO volunteer, was allegedly molested by a plumber in her house. During the hearing of case in the metropolitan court, Eldridge and her lawyer Jagtap said that Prajapati humiliated them.

Jagtap alleged that Prajapati had asked demeaning and irrelevant questions.

Prajapati had allegedly said in the court on Tuesday, “If I were a woman and behaved like her (Jagtap), one man would go to jail daily.”

“I will be filing a defamation case against Prajapati soon. I won’t let him get away with this remarks,” Jagtap said.

“I am also writing a letter to the Bar Council, the High Court and the State Women’s Commission describing the entire chain of events,” she said, adding she was in the process of drafting the letters.

Eldridge who had come for a three-month internship with an NGO here, was allegedly molested by a plumber Pragnesh Chhatrada in her house. She had filed a complaint against him and he was arrested and later chargesheeted.

During the hearing of case in the metropolition court, Eldridge and her lawyer Jagtap said that Prajapati humiliated them.

On Tuesday, Eldridge had written a letter to the Gujarat High Court chief justice KS Radahkrishnan saying that she was humiliated by Prajapati who asked irrelevant questions like if she smoked and drank and was she living illegally in India. (ANI)

Brit woman thinks she has finally found Mr. Right in sixth hubby!

London, Sep 11 (ANI): A Brit woman, who has spent 31-years looking for Mr Right, thinks that she has finally found him in her sixth husband.

Lady Rosemaris Chanie-Cridge, 50, a former dancer and actress, saw her five previous marriages last between 18 months and ten years, with her choices ranging from a wealthy property developer to a Texan Marine named Butch Gayheart.

Now, Lady Rosemaris, who has kids Sabrina, 23, Krystle, 24, and 14-year-old Joshua by two different men, says that she has found her true love in plumber Gary Cridge, 40, who she met last year when he came to fix her washing machine.

“I really have found my Mr Right after all these years. Each time I thought the marriage was going to last. I said my vows with sincerity,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

She met her first husband, 25-year-old Michael Robins, at the age of 17 and they wed two years later.

“He was extremely attractive, I fell in love immediately,” she said.

They had a church wedding in Ealing, West London, in 1978, but the marriage broke down after two years.

“I was devastated – I thought that marriage was for life. My parents split up when I was three. I became obsessed with the idea that my marriage would be different,” she said.

She then wed former Marine Harry ‘Butch’ Gayheart, 25, in 1983 but split after two years.

“He proposed after a month. He was so romantic and seemed to offer the love I craved,” she recalled.

Property developer Gordon O’Shea, 40, became her third husband, but the marriage did not last when he decided to give his money away and go to Africa to work as a missionary.

They divorced in 1989 after 18 months of marriage.

Lady Rosemaris met Goran Koroliga at a cocktail party in LA and they wed in 1990, but split after two years.

Her fifth marriage, to Max Jesson in 1997, lasted a decade and left her “absolutely devastated” when it ended.

But Lady Rosemaris, of Banstead, Surrey, believes her new love will last forever after marrying Gary in May.

“I told him about my past. A lot of men would have felt intimidated, but it didn’t matter to him,” she said.

“When I said my vows, they seemed extra special. I always knew true love was out there. I’ve finally found the man of my dreams,” she added. (ANI)

Kidney transplant op transforms plumber into gifted artist!

London, Aug 19 (ANI): In a miraculous change of fortune, a plumber has transformed into a gifted painter ever since he had a kidney transplant.

The plumber believes the donor of his new kidney was a painter.

The 44-year-old Gary Leighton had a hereditary kidney disease following which he had a kidney transplant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital in London Last year.

Gary had never painted before and did not think he had any artistic creativity or talent.

But after his life saving kidney transplant surgery Gary suddenly felt like painting and now sells a single paining for about 1000 pounds.

The Sun quoted Gary as saying: “Before the transplant I had no interest in art. I could barely draw at school.

“We had been to see some friends and as we were leaving I spotted a book about Salvador Dali by their front door.

“I picked it up and began flicking through it and the friend said that I could have it.

“I read it at home and thought ‘I have got to go and get some canvasses and paints’.

“Now I am painting with glass, with ink and acrylic, on wood with a blowtorch and copper, and using wind and leaves to create organic art.”

Studies have revealed that one out of every three transplant patients believe they possess aspects of the donor’s character.

“It would be incredible to find out a famous artist had passed that gift to me…People inherit personality traits. It is a fact,” Gary added. (ANI)

Plumber gives birth to embryonic remains of twin

London, May 9 (ANI): A Brit plumber, who has given birth to the embryonic remains of his twin, recalls the agony he went through when his stomach ruptured as the lumpy mass forced its way out.

Former fire fighter Gavin Hyatt, of Witney, Oxfordshire, had been carrying the embryo inside his abdomen since he was born 30 years ago.

And when the pain was accompanied with bleeding from his belly button he hurried into his GP’s surgery, who in turn compared the incident to the movie Alien.

“It was like something from Alien. I didn’t believe Gavin when he said something was coming out of his belly button until I saw him,” the Sun quoted stunned GP Dr. Joe Santos as saying.

“This is incredibly rare. Gavin’s weight has changed recently so that is why it might have pushed through. But otherwise he is fit and well and happy that he has his little friend,” he said.

As per medics, the growth was a parasitic twin, and the 4cm foetus then became embedded in Hyatt’s tissue and stayed in his stomach for the next 30 years.

“Four hospital doctors had previously examined me and were all puzzled by the lump,” Hyatt said.

“Some thought it was a cyst, others an in-grown hair.

“Then one said it could be my undeveloped identical twin that I absorbed at a very early stage. I feel absolutely fine now but it has not sunk in yet that I could have had a twin brother.

“I have him in a jar at home and I call him little Gav. I haven’t told many people. I feel like a bit of a freak,” he added. (ANI)

Kuala Lumpur, Apr 27 (ANI): A 15-year-old girl, who is seven months’ pregnant, has claimed that her father and his friend have raped her for three years./pp

Joe the Plumber advises Republicans

Washington, Feb.3 (ANI): Having gone to the Gaza Strip as a war correspondent, Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher a.ka. Joe the Plumber is now strategizing politically with the Republicans.

When GOP congressional aides gather Tuesday morning for a meeting of the Conservative Working Group, Joe the Plumber will be their featured guest, Politico reports.

This group is an organization of conservative Capitol Hill staffers who meet regularly to chart GOP strategy for the week.

Wurzelbacher, who became a household name during the presidential election, will be focusing his talk on the proposed stimulus package. He’s apparently not a fan of the economic rescue package, according to members of the group.

If nothing else, GOP aides are using the appearance to get staffers to attend the 9 a.m. meeting.

Last month, Wurzelbacher did a brief stint as a war reporter for the conservative web site pjtv.com. (ANI)

`Joe the Plumber’ turns reporter, says Israel has waited too long to strike at Hamas

Jerusalem, Jan.12 (ANI): Ohio resident Samuel Wurzelbacher a.k.a. “Joe the Plumber”, who acquired fame for confronting Barack Obama on his tax policy during last year’s presidential campaign, arrived in Sderot, Israel, on Sunday, and said the Israelis had waited too long for launching strikes at the Hamas.

He also said that the foreign media should be ashamed of themselves for the way they were reporting on strikes on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

“You should be ashamed of yourself. You should be patriotic, protect your family and children, not report like you have been doing for the past two weeks since this war has started,” he said.

Wurzelbacher has found a new job – as a correspondent for the Internet Web sites PJTV and Pajamas Media.

Armed with a camera and a temporary Government Press Office card, he got a taste of reality in Sderot, visiting a house hit by a Kassam rocket two weeks ago and experiencing a “Code Red” alert first-hand.

He also observed and reported from the house where a Kassam landed on Sunday afternoon.
He also wondered why Israel waited so long to act. “I know if I were a citizen here, I’d be damned upset.”

“When someone hits me, I’m going to unload on the boy. And, if the rest of the world doesn’t understand that, then I’m sorry,” he added.

Wurzelbacher had already announced that he would cover Operation Cast Lead for ten days and assist in getting out the Israeli side of the story.

“I want the average American Joes to understand the story here from the point of view of someone like them,” he told WNWO, a TV channel in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio, before heading here. (ANI)

Single cigarette causes £6million of damage to stately home!

London, Jan 9 (ANI): A discarded cigarette caused a blaze leading to 6 million pounds of damage to a stately home.

An official report has accused a plumber for dropping the cigarette during a fag break, which gutted Grade II listed Moreton Hall last March.

The plumber was in the team doing maintenance checks in the roof of the Edwardian mansion, which is now part of an agricultural college.

“The lad is very upset. He has admitted dropping the cigarette, but there is no proof that it started the fire,” the Mirror quoted Paul Lockyer, managing director of the Magna Heating Company, based in Warwick, as saying.

“There were other people, including students, around at the time. The truth is we will never know for sure what caused the fire,” he added.

Ian Tonner of Warwickshire Fire Service confirmed that it was an accident.

“A worker had gone on to the roof for a cigarette. He dropped it down a hole he thought was a drain pipe – it was a hole in the roof,” he said.

The fire destroyed the roof and the lavish interior, including oak panelled walls.

Restoration work is due to be completed next year. (ANI)

Joe the Plumber will be reporting on Gaza conflict

Melbourne, Jan 8 (ANI): Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher or Joe the Plumber, as he was known during the 2008 US presidential election campaign, has been given the task of reporting on the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Wurzelbacher has been given the job of reporting on the fight going on between Israel and Hamas by conservative US website pjtv.com, and he says that he will let ‘Average Joes’ tell their side of the story.

“It’s tragic, I mean it really is,” News.com.au quoted him as telling Ohio television station WNWO.

“I don”t say that in any little way. It”s very tragic, but at the same time what are the Israeli people supposed to do?” he said.

Wurzelbacher also added that he is not concerned about heading into a warzone for 10 days.

“Being a Christian I”m pretty well protected by God I believe. That”s not saying he”s going to stop a mortar for me, but you gotta take the chance,” he stated.

“If given the opportunity to do some good however minute it may be, or could be something really good, you gotta take that chance. You have to do it,” he added. (ANI)
