Alesha Dixon wants a ‘perfect ass’

London, May 11 (ANI): Alesha Dixon, judge of the show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, is undergoing a strict fitness regime with her personal train to give her the ‘perfect ass’.

“I’ve always wanted a bigger bum!

“My personal trainer thinks I’m weird as I’m the first person she’s ever met who wants a bigger bum, but I don’t care about having bigger boobs or a flat stomach. I just say: ‘Give me an ass!’”

“There is something lovely and voluptuous about Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez and I think they look like a woman should, so I like to give my bum a bit more special attention,” The Mirror quoted her as saying to Closer magazine. (ANI)

Pregnant Claudia Schiffer poses nude for mag

New York, May 11 (ANI): Soon-to-be mum Claudia Schiffer is showing off her baby bump to the world – she posed nude for a fashion mag.

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld shot Schiffer, 39, for the June cover of Vogue Germany.

Schiffer”s pose bears striking resemblance to Demi Moore”s infamous 1991 Vanity Fair cover in which the actress posed nude at seven-months pregnant.

Schiffer is expecting a baby girl with hubby, filmmaker Matthew Vaughn, in May.

The couple are already parents to seven-year-old Caspar, and five-year-old Clementine.

Schiffer admits that her roles as a wife and mum have helped her change her once workaholic lifestyle.

“I used to work every single day and travel round the world. I worked weekends, I never took one second off,” the New York Daily News quoted her as telling the Daily Mail.

Schiffer added: “When I met my husband I said, ”You know what, this is important. I”m not going to work weekends any more.” And when I had kids, I became even more careful. Modeling work is fine because you can do one day here, two days there – you”re never long gone.”

She added: “I love being pregnant.

“You can do whatever you want. You don”t feel guilty, because I used to feel guilty about having a day off.

“And, you know, something really strange happened to me. Before my pregnancies, I was someone who had to watch their weight. I had a personal trainer, I was working out, I would never eat anything sweet,” she continued. “Anyway, I got pregnant and when I was breastfeeding it just came off. I can eat whatever I want. If I don”t eat enough, I will lose weight.” (ANI)

Aniston ups fitness regime to look good beside swimsuit model in new film

Melbourne, May 03 (ANI): Former ‘Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston, who is admired by many women for her fit body and stunning looks, is apparently not happy with her figure.

Aniston has called her personal trainer Mandy Ingber so that she looks perfect beside swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker in her latest film ‘Just Go With It’, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Aniston has asked Mandy, to fly to Hawaii, where the film that also stars Adam Sandler, is being shot.

“Jen has been getting really wound up with the wardrobe department because her costumes are so skimpy and she”s worried about working with a younger model with a hot body,” a source told The Mail.

“She has upped her fitness regime and has had her gym equipment sent to her villa,” she added. (ANI)

‘The Yummy Mummy’ guide to lose pregnancy weight

Wellington, May 3 (ANI): After losing more than 70kgs on her way to becoming a yummy mummy, Nadia Holland now wants to share her secrets with other women through her book.

Holland, 32, piled on 36 kg while she was pregnant with eldest daughter Isla, which left her feeling “alienated” and “guilty”.

“I”d put on so much weight when I was pregnant and had no idea about what to do to lose it,” nzherald.co.nz, quoted her as saying.

And with a combination of sensible eating and exercise, Holland managed to lose 43kg by the time her daughter was 15 months old.

But after falling pregnant again with daughter Chelsea two months later, she had put on another 30kg but managed to lose it again – leaving her determined to help other women from making the same mistakes.

And thus, she came with the book titled ‘The Yummy Mummy’, written with dietitian Nicky McCarthy.

“What I set out to do was to help other women who might be in the same situation as me and put on a bit more than the 12kg that the pregnancy books tell you you should,” she said.

One of the biggest problems she faced was subscribing to the theory that pregnant women should eat for two.

Dietitian Caryn Zinn has said that this was a trap many fall into.

“It”s not really eating for two, it”s eating for one and a bit. The weight gain needs to be steady and controlled,” she said.

Personal trainer and midwife Fiona Ross said that new mums often rush back into exercise, forgetting the body has been “battered and bruised”.

“I see mums coming into the gym because they”re desperate to get back into shape. But they”re actually not in any physical shape to be going straight back into sport,” said Ross.

Plunket clinical adviser Allison Jamieson says most women lose the weight they gain through breastfeeding.

Those who need more help should avoid crash diets and talk about weight loss with a medical professional.

Some of the weight loss tips from the book include:

1. Ditch the word ”diet”. Think of it as a process of remodelling yourself.
2. Understand the basics. Weight loss is about “energy in” versus “energy out”.
3. Talk yourself up. Lack of confidence is the greatest obstacle.
4. Use your child(ren) as motivation: Do you want to be the “fat mum” at the school gates?
5. The sooner you start, the better for your health; being overweight has serious health implications.
6. Set realistic goals slow and steady wins the race. (ANI)

UK fitness TV teaches bhangra workout class!

London, September 17 (ANI): A new British TV station, dedicated entirely to fitness, is offering a string of classes, including those on Bhangra.

The Fitness TV, a 24-hour station, also hosts a high heel workout class for the women who refuse to get out of their beloved stilettos. Other workouts include those based on Salsa, Hip Hop and Disco.

“Just like a personal trainer, the channel allows viewers to tailor workouts to their own levels of fitness and interests and can be easily scheduled around busy lives,” the Sun quoted a spokesman for the TV shows as saying.

“Programmes range from children’s classes including a mobility and balance workout for pre-schoolers, kids’ yoga and street dance for teenagers, while pensioners and the less mobile are offered Chairobics.

“For the more adventurous, there are boot camp-style workouts and dance-based exercise sessions for Strictly Come Dancing fans, including Bhangra, Cheerleader and 70s Disco.

“There’s even a High Heels workout for more glamorous viewers,” the spokesman added.

Fitness TV founder Luan Underwood, a former personal trainer and mum-of-two, said: “We are positioning the channel as an additional workout option, not as a replacement to gyms, fitness and wellbeing classes.

“We would like to capture the imagination of the 80 per cent of UK citizens that have never visited a gym and inspire them to do so.

“We also aim to reach people unable to visit fitness facilities, perhaps because they have young children, or time pressures that make it difficult to get to the gym for a few weeks.

“With Fitness TV, people can squeeze in a session at a time to suit them, and because the classes are constantly being updated, they’ll be more motivated to stick to them than they would an exercise DVD,” Underwood added. (ANI)

Russell Crowe’s fitness regime involves smokes, fatty foods

Melbourne, Sept. 1 (ANI): Aussie actor Russell Crowe is said to follow a fitness regime that involves a few cigarettes and eating fatty foods.

Crowe, 45, who had this year lost 32kgs while preparing for his starring role in Robin Hood, has left many wondering about his trim waistline, and how he manages to keep it that way.

Upon being followed, Crowe was seen starting his day with a smoke before he and his personal trainer rode their bikes from Woolloomooloo to Darlinghurst, which is probably a 10-15 minute ride tops.

The actor then took a breather at Mad Mex on Crown St., where he decided to order an early lunch of three crispy tacos along with a soft drink, reports the Daily Telegraph.

He then had another cigarette before peddling home again. (ANI)

Stick-thin Posh ‘shrinks to the size of a seven-year-old’

London, Aug 19 (ANI): Victoria Beckham may have gone a little too far in maintaining her svelte figure for her stint in American Idol, fitness experts believe.

The former Spice Girl is apparently on a detox diet and has dropped to a UK size 4 but a personal trainer feels it could be dangerous.

“It’s shocking, Victoria is the size of a seven-year-old girl. She’s started exercising, but she obviously hasn’t increased her food to compensate for the calories she’s burning,” the Daily Star quoted Nicki Waterman, personal trainer as saying.

She said: “No-one should be that thin. She needs to start eating a balanced diet straight away.”

Also, nutritionist Juliette Kellow added: “Young girls aspire to look like Victoria but she’s smaller than most of them.

“She looks like she’s probably starving herself to be like that.”

However, the stunner’s nutritionist Monica Grenfell believes that her client has always had a small frame, she said: “Victoria has always been a teeny little thing.

“Whenever we chat, she always asks what she should and shouldn’t be eating – she’s strict with herself, that’s all.”

Meanwhile, an insider on the American Idol set branded her performance “wooden” and “icy”. (ANI)

Pals ask Sarkozy to give up rigorous fitness regime introduced by wife

London, July 28 (ANI): French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been asked by his friends to give up severe diet and exercise regime introduced to him by wife Carla Bruni.

The 54-year-old politician was rushed to hospital last weekend after he collapsed while jogging.

He was released from Val-de-Grace military hospital in Paris after being kept in overnight under cardiological observation.

While heat and overwork were blamed for the incident, Frederic Lefebvre, a spokesman for Sarkozy’s UMP party, has raised doubts by insisting that he had suffered a “cardiac incident”.

According to Sarlozy’s friends, he had fallen foul of a draconian diet introduced to him by wife Carla Bruni, which involved eating little and ruled out chocolate, cheese and pudding- in an attempt to make Mr Sarkozy as svelte and fit.

“The president is going to have to take more care, work a little less hard and eat a little bit more,” the Telegraph quoted Patrick Balkany, an MP and close friend of Sarkozy, as saying.

“He’s on a diet because he’s always a little bit too heavy … let’s say he doesn’t want to be overweight.

“At 54 you have to be reasonable,” he added.

The First Lady, who he married last year after a whirlwind romance, is attributed with overseeing a complete “metamorphosis” of her husband as part of his bid to run for a second term in 2012.

Carla had also introduced him to her personal trainer who has helped the President lose around 9lb and two trouser sizes.

Julie Imperiali, 26, who specialises in strengthening the pelvic floor, said earlier this year that she had helped the President get more in touch with his limits as before “he used just to run and run and run without being aware of his body”.

Meanwhile, doctors have advised him to rest, so he has postponed a planned visit to the Mont Saint Michel abbey in Normandy. (ANI)

Demi Moore shows off washboard abs at 46

London, July 12 (ANI): Demi Moore is 46 years in age, but her beach body might just give women half her age a run for their money.

The ‘Ghost’ beauty showed off her figure in a tiny bikini in the Bahamas this week, where she is holidaying with hubby Ashton Kutcher, 30.

The mum-of-three has a washboard stomach that even rivals Kutcher’s six-pack.

While holidaying, the actress even gave herself a break from her punishing fitness regime, as she clutched a beer while fooling around in the waves with her hot husband.

“Demi looked fantastic – and you don’t get abs like that at her age without putting in a lot of hard work and spending a lot of cash,” the Mirror quoted an onlooker at the beach as saying.

Demi has defied Mother Nature through years of exercise and dieting, and what many claim a little help from the surgeon’s knife as well.

Although Demi has always dismissed rumours about her costly cosmetic surgery, she has admitted paying for unusual treatments such as a detox session involving leeches sucking her blood.

In fact, the ‘Strip Tease’ star has also employed an army of health advisers – including a nutritionist, personal trainer, yoga teacher and kickboxing coach. (ANI)

Meet the trainer behind Jackman’s body in ‘X-men Origins: Wolverine’

London, July 05 (ANI): The credit for Hugh Jackman’s muscular look in his recent film ‘X-men Origins: Wolverine’ goes to his personal trainer Michael Ryan.

However, it did not come cheap, the expert charged 350 dollars an hour for sharpening the star’s body.

“Wolverine’s producers thanked me and said I was a cheap investment because the film took 80 million dollars in its first weekend, but it wasn’t the film people remember, it was how good Hugh’s body looked,” the Daily Telegraph quoted him as saying.

In fact, the trainer is now on high demand among film stars; he has already worked with Lara Bingle.

And he makes his big customers work hard to attain the desired shape.

Jackman’s bouts included 3am starts, cold showers, 100kg weight squats and 280kg leg presses.

He said: “Obviously I have the secrets that got Hugh to look like he does, which is one aspect.

“But it’s based on demand, and I’m in a position where I have a profile and don’t have a lot of time.”

Michael is also a long time friend of Jackman whom he met while working as a personal trainer at The Physical Factory, on Sydney’s north shore, when he was a university student.

Hugh had promised to hire him when he became a big actor. (ANI)

Duchess of York goes on radical diet for Fit At 50 TV show

London, June 28 (ANI): Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson has resorted to a radical diet for a TV show after she pledged to be “footballer fit” in time for her 50th birthday.

The former Royal, who vowed to drop pounds so that she could get into a racy black bikini by October, will also bag 50,000 pounds for the hour-long special entitled Fit At 50.

“I am going to run along the beach at 50 and be footballer fit, not just fit fit,” News of the World quoted her as saying.

She added: “I’ll be running down that beach in my small black bikini.”

The mum-of-two, who was left with food addiction after her marriage split with Prince Andrew, was also said to have roped in David Beckham’s personal trainer Neil Lewis to get back in shape for the occasion.

An ITV1 insider said: “There’s enormous excitement that Sarah’s agreed to get involved. Make no mistake, she’s facing a hard slog in the gym.

“There will be no where to hide on the beach. Viewers will see her looking like she has never done before.” (ANI)

Jacko hires personal trainer to shape up for UK tour

Jacko hires personal trainer to shape up for UK tourLondon, June 19 : Michael Jackson has roped in a personal trainer in a bid to get in shape for his comeback tour in London.

The King of Pop has roped in actor Lou Ferrigno, the TV superhero, as his personal trainer.

Reports have revealed that ex-Mr Universe Lou, 57, has been making secret visits to the singer””s Los Angeles mansion to help him improve his fitness for dance routines at London””s O2 this summer.

However, sources have said that underweight Jacko is took weak to undergo gruelling workouts, and refuses to lift weights.

“Lou has been visiting Michael to build him up so he can perform his dance routines,” British tabloid The Sun quoted a source as saying.

The source added: “But Jacko refuses to lift weights. He doesn””t want to bulk up.”

The ””Thriller”” star is battling skin cancer, and is terrified that piling on the pounds could ruin his chance of beating the killer disease.

Jacko and Lou became pals after the superstar worked out at the actor””s gym in 2007.

Previously, bodybuilder Lou said of the ””Beat It”” singer: “Michael is more delicate. Our trainer conditioned him for dancing. He likes me – he feels safe with me, he feels protected. He was nervous about people looking at him when he was training.”

Jackson was diagnosed with cancer last month, and has already undergone painful shave biopsies on his chest, arm and nose to remove potentially lethal growths.

Jodie Marsh unveils her new bodybuilder physique

London, May 28 (ANI): Jodie Marsh has swapped glamour modelling with bodybuilding.

The 30-year-old model, who has 32E surgically-enhanced boobs, has gone from a size 12 to a size 6/8 and credits her training for her new look.

“I started training with a personal trainer called Tim Sharp last December in my local gym,” the Mirror quoted her as saying.

“At first I just wanted to lose weight and tone up – I was soft all over. But within two weeks, I had definition in my stomach. As I saw my body changing, I really liked my muscles and as Tim is a bodybuilder, it just went from there,” she added.

The stunner loves her new body so much that she’s considering going into competition.

“I’ve still got loads [of weight] to go. I might do a bodybuilder competition in August and if so, I’ve got another 7lbs of fat to lose to be pure muscle. It’s something I’m working towards,” she said. (ANI)

Elle Macpherson’s secret to looking 20 at 45 revealed

London, May 4 (ANI): Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson’s secret to looking like a twenty something at the age of 45 has been revealed by her personal trainer James Duigan.

Macpherson has attracted a lot of interest with her killer figure and Duigan was contacted to find out the reason for her great shape.

The trainer first revealed that Macpherson is a person who swears by fish oil, and it is one of the reasons she is so trim.

“They’re great for helping your body burn fat, especially around your stomach and waist,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

In fact, the latest study, from the Mayo clinic in Minnesota in the US, reveals that the omega-3 fatty acid contained in these oils helps suppress appetite and encourages the body to burn fat around the mid-section.

Secondly the model moves around a lot, whether she’s cycling her kids to school in West London, or surfing in her native Australia, is always on the move.

“She makes exercise a part of her day,” Duigan said.

“When she was in Sydney recently, she was cycling and surfing all the time. It’s important to stay active at weekends and holidays but, like Elle, you can make it fun,” he explained.

Thirdly Macpherson does not want to be skinny, she is happy to have a few extra pounds on her body.

“A few pounds show a lot on my body but it’s OK. I believe women look good with a bit of softness to them,” the model once said.

Although she’s very slim, Macpherson always kept her curves during her modelling career, which is probably why she’s so fit now.

“If you yo-yo diet or starve yourself, your metabolism suffers greatly,” says nutritionist Carina Norris.

“It catches up with you in later life and you’ll find it harder to keep a steady weight. It’s far better to eat well and move around a bit instead of messing with your metabolism,” she added.

Fourthly, Macpherson believes in her organic diet, and even says so.

“I would encourage everyone to give it a go,” she said.

Studies show that organic food contains more nutrients – and the more nutrients your body absorbs, the less hungry it feels, however, it can be pricey, so just add the odd organic item to your basket when you can.

Fifthly, she likes to meditate, as it allows her to take time out to focus on her mind.

“Keeping stress at bay is one of the best things you can do for your body and waistline,” Duigan said.

Stress is closely linked with stomach fat – studies show that when we’re stressed, our bodies release cortisol, a hormone that encourages our body to store fat around our waist and tummies. (ANI)

Liv Tyler ‘dating her personal trainer’

New Delhi, Apr 24 (ANI): Liv Tyler is romancing her personal trainer, it has emerged.

The ‘Lord of the Rings’ star was snapped hugging and kissing David Hirsch after an intimate lunch in Westwood, New Jersey on April 22.

Apparently, the pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they walked to his car, stopping in the parking lot several times to kiss and cuddle.

The 31-year-old actress has been single since last year, when she announced she was divorcing British musician Royston Langdon – with whom she has a four-year-old son, Milo, reports The China Daily.

Recently, Liv revealed she felt physically sick when she split from her husband last May, and still finds the break-up difficult to come to terms with.

She said: “There’s nothing worse than heartache, being lovesick. It’s like there’s a physical sickness. You go through a couple of weeks where you think, ‘Oh, I’m OK, I feel better,’ and then suddenly, out of nowhere, it hits you again.

“The hardest part is when they move out. It also brings up a lot of issues – you might feel like a failure, or like there is something wrong with you. You can’t run away from yourself – you kind of have to just deal with it.” (ANI)

Bridesmaids on fitness spree to avoid wedding day blues

Melbourne, Apr 20 (ANI): Brides often go an extra mile to look their best for the wedding. But now bridesmaids are also being forced to shape up for the big day.

The bridesmaids are hiring personal trainers or attending bridal boot camps as they feel that they might be letting the bride down if they didn’t lose weight.

“No one wants to have fat wedding photos,” the Courier Mail quoted Bianca Aiono, a personal trainer on the Sunshine Coast who is working with more bridal parties than ever before, as saying.

“I think everyone’s so motivated to have those photos that they can really remember and be confident in,” she added.

Fernwood Women’s Health Clubs also run a special program for brides and their bridesmaids called Operation Wedding Dress.

“It’s growing in popularity. I think there’s a lot more pressure placed on the bridal party from the brides these days to look their best,” said Nic Linford, Fernwood’s national programs manager.

Sarah Torrisi, 23, who got married on April 17, had her six bridesmaids in personal training for the past two months to get ready for the D-day.

“I wanted us to feel better and fitter and to look good for the wedding,” she said. (ANI)

Carey moves personal trainer into home to fight fuller figure criticism

Washington, Apr 15 (ANI): American singer Mariah Carey has moved her personal trainer into her Los Angeles home in order to get back in shape after she was criticised for her fuller figure.

Carey, 39, received criticism for her curves after photos of her visiting her husband Nick Cannon’s relatives in San Diego, California, on April 12, came out online.

She has taken to social networking site Twitter.com to vent her anger and frustration about the remarks she got, and even insisted that she is now doing her best to get back in shape.

“Looking at some paparazzi shots from Easter… I don’t know what was worse, the bleak angles and bright peach dress… or the b.s. (bulls**t) commentary/blogs,” Contactmusic quoted her as having written.

“It was Easter and we were trying to be nice so we just walked out Nick’s aunt’s front door despite the paparazzi who had followed us ALL the way to San Diego! I figured, why not give them a pic even tho (though) I look a stone mess after a long festive day…

“Then in return we get a… B.S. story and some pics I could’ve definitely lived w/out (without). …Just ‘for the record’… that dress and hair were not ‘red carpet’ attire! And if I gained few pounds… My trainer’s back living w/ (with) me again…yippie,” she added. (ANI)

Scarlett Johansson sheds pounds for new film role

London, Apr 7 (ANI): Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson is reportedly shedding her famous curves, as she is following a diet plan for a new role.

“The pair have been doing daily workouts with Gwyneth’s personal trainer Tracy Anderson,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“Scarlett is also staying away from carbohydrates,” the source added.

Scarlett reportedly decided to cut few extra pounds after she felt leaner actresses might bag her roles.

“Scarlett has always been happy with her curves, but recently she has been feeling pressure to lose a few pounds,” a pal said.

“She knows that she is up against tough competition from younger, prettier and increasingly skinner actresses,” the pal added. (ANI)

Swedish Crown Princess’ fairytale wedding with ex fitness trainer

London, March 29 (ANI): Swedish Crown Princess Victoria will tie the knot with her former personal trainer this year, it has been announced.

The heiress apparent to the throne will marry Daniel Westling, belonging to a lower-middle class background, on June 19 at the Stockholm Cathedral.

The event will be marked with a three-day celebration that will see performances by renowned celebrities.

The cream of the country’s glitterati along with royalty from across Europe is expected to make the guest list.

After the ceremony, the 31-year-old daughter of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, along with her groom will head to Stockholm’s royal palace, where they will greet the crowd and have a customary kiss on the balcony.

Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said the wedding would draw plenty tourists and give a boost to the country internationally.

Meanwhile, historian Herman Lindqvist also suggested the same result would be achieved for the Swedish Royal House of Bernadotte, which will enter its 200th year in 2010.

“It will create a lot of happiness in the current state of doom and gloom,” the Daily Express quoted Lindqvist as saying. Nowadays Sweden is a country where you have equality between the sexes. Women marry the man they love, not whoever their father considers suitable,” Lindqvist added. (ANI)
