Report: Woods apologizes to school parents

ORLANDO, Fla. — Tiger Woods has offered another apology, this time to parents of children at the preschool that his 2-year-old daughter attends, an Orlando television station reported Tuesday.

WFTV reported on its Web site that it has obtained a letter that Woods and his wife, Elin, wrote to parents of children attending Premier Academy to apologize for increased media scrutiny around the school.

“We hope that the paparazzi will find something better to do with their time in the near future,” the letter said.

Media coverage around Woods and his family has been intense since the Nov. 27 accident outside his home led to revelations that the world’s No. 1 golfer had been cheating on his wife. Woods did not make his first public appearance until Friday at the TPC Sawgrass clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla..

Woods’ wife did not attend his nationally televised appearance, and photographers were seen outside the Premier Academy that day. WFTV says an off-duty sheriff’s deputy has been hired to sit outside the school.

The station did not say when the letter was sent.

During his 13 1/2-minute statement, Woods lashed out at paparazzi for chasing after his family, including his daughter, Sam.

“However, my behavior doesn’t make it right for the media to follow my two-and-a-half-year-old daughter to school and report the school’s location,” Woods said. “They staked out my wife and they pursued my mom. Whatever my wrongdoings, for the sake of my family, please leave my wife and kids alone.”

Woods thanks parents for their support and did not indicate he would remove his daughter from the school.

“In the meantime, it is our goal to keep life as normal as possible for our children,” the letter said. “We are sure that as parents you can appreciate that. For Sam, that normalcy means attending the school that she enjoys so much.”

Britney Spears’ ex-boyfriend, photographer jailed

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A celebrity photographer who briefly dated Britney Spears at the height of her career meltdown was sentenced to 45 days in jail on Friday after clashing with an official trying to serve him a restraining order.

Adnan Ghalib, 37, one of the paparazzi who trailed Spears night and day in 2007, was also ordered to complete an anger management program.

Los Angeles prosecutors alleged that in February Ghalib drove his car toward an official who was trying to serve a court order keeping him away from Spears and her family.

Ghalib pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, and charges of assault were dropped.

Spears, now 27, began a relationship with Ghalib in December 2007 when her private and public life were falling apart following her divorce, stints in rehab and a notorious head shaving incident.

Her behavior improved after the singer’s father intervened and was given control of her business and personal affairs by the Los Angeles courts in January 2008.

“So you slow down, get out the car, (say), ‘Hello gentlemen, would you like a picture?’” (ANI)

Washington, Aug 31 (ANI): Scottish actor Gerard Butler is so harried by the paparazzi following him that he has taken to playing a cat and mouse game with them.

Butler, 39, has become a well-known star, and with rumours of a romance with actress Jennifer Aniston, he has become the hot target for celebrity photographers.

But the actor has revealed that he is not happy with the attention he is getting, especially because the photographers try to catch him in compromising positions.

He was recently caught dining outside a restaurant by a photographer determined to get a snap of him eating, and Butler was equally determined not to let the photog succeed.

“It was almost like holding out a (stick) for a dog. Every time I got my fork, he picked his camera up, so I put it down again and he put his camera down. Then I’d pick it up again,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“The only time I could eat was when a bus went past or a truck. Then literally the truck would stop and I go boom, boom, boom and I’d shovel the food in,” he added. (ANI)
