Pak Qaeda hand in 2006 trans-Atlantic bomb plot revealed

London, Sep.8 (ANI): New evidence put before a British jury during a retrial of three Brit Muslim convicts suggests that the men used code words to discuss their plans with an al-Qaeda fixer based in Pakistan.

The e-mails and conversations suggest that the plot was in its final stages, possibly days away from execution in 2006.

The seven daily flights highlighted by the three plotters were: 14.15 United Airlines Flight 931 to San Francisco; 15.00 Air Canada Flight 849 to Toronto; 15.15 Air Canada Flight 865 to Montreal; 15.40 United Airlines Flight 959 to Chicago; 16.20 United Airlines Flight 925 to Washington; 16.35 American Airlines Flight 131 to New York; 16.50 American Airlines Flight 91 to Chicago.

According to The Telegraph and the Daily Express, the batteries the gang planned to use as part of their detonators were bought in Pakistan.

An ingredient in the bomb mix was the orange soft drink Tang – sold in Pakistan – which had a high sugar content to aid the explosion.

A British intelligence source said: “The use of drink bottles sold in Pakistan and batteries sold in Pakistan underline the plot’s ties to that country. The foot soldiers were from Britain – but the organisers were in Pakistan.”

A security source said of the conspiracy: “It was very clever and the airport scanners would not have picked up the devices at all.”

Prosecutor Peter Wright told the Woolwich Crown Court in South East London how the would-be bombers were “a cell of home-grown terrorists activated and directed by a designated leader in Pakistan.”

That was confirmed by a government source in Pakistan, who said the plot was believed to have originated “with al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.”

Seized e-mails showed the chain of terror stretched from there, across the lawless border to Pakistan, to London and to the woods of High Wycombe where explosives were buried.

The aim was to mirror the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, which killed 259 passengers and 11 in the Scottish town.

Aliases exposed during the trial revealed the terror kingpin in Pakistan was dubbed “Paps” or “Papa”.

Ali called himself Imran and Chacha and also set up email accounts in the bogus names Tippu Khan and Jameel Masood.

His co-conspirators used aliases such as Fatty, Arro and Nigga.

Hydrogen peroxide was known as “aftershave”, police surveillance as “skin problems” and martyrdom videos were referred to as “wedding tapes”.

It is also thought that the bomb makers received training at an al-Qaeda camp in Pakistan.

A mystery Pakistani, thought to be a top al-Qaeda envoy, made contact with the three would-be suicide bombers during a flying visit to Britain in June 2006.

Experts who tested the explosive mix on the aircraft were horrified.

A witness said: “It was absolutely devastating.” (ANI)

A ray of hope for the Sarabjit Singh from Pakistan’s apex court

Bhikhiwind (Punjab), June 21 (ANI): A ray of hope has emerged here for Sarabjit Singh alias Manjeet Singh’s family, as his lawyer will file a review petition against his hanging at the Pakistani Supreme Court on Monday.

Sarbjit’s wife Sukhpreet Kaur, daughters, Swapandeep and Poonam and sister Dalbir Kaur of Sarbjit Singh on Sunday performed prayers (Ardas) at the local Gurdwara.

The family on this occasion said that it wants the Pakistani authorities to look at the case with sympathy, as it’s a case of mistaken identity and claims he is innocent.

The family also has urged the Indian leadership to include Sarbjit’s case on its top agenda while talking to Pakistan.

“It was good to know that the Pakistan Supreme Court would hear his review petition against the death sentence awarded to him for his alleged involvement in three bomb blasts on Monday. Though lot of efforts are being done by the Indian government but we are worried as now Sarbjit is still languishing in Pakistani jail for the last 19 years”, said Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarbjit Singh.

According to the family of Sarbjit Singh, who has been sentenced to death for alleged involvement in bomb blasts in Lahore, he is a victim of mistaken identity.

He has been convicted of espionage and terrorism and sentenced to death for being a spy for the Indian RAW. He has been accused of masterminding the 1990 bomb blasts in serial bomb blasts in Lahore, Faislabad, and Kasur.

“My father is innocent. I hope that after hearing the review petition of my father, the Pakistan’s Supreme court would release Papa,” said Swapandeep, elder daughter of Sarbjit.

Sarabjit Singh is a resident of Amritsar in Punjab. He was arrested near the Kasur border in Pakistan in August 1990. As per his family, he had actually strayed into Pakistan’s territory in an inebriated state.

Singh was awarded death sentence by a Lahore anti-terrorism court in October 1991 for carrying out serial bomb blasts in Pakistan.

He challenged the verdict in the Supreme Court, however, the apex court quashed his appeal in September 2005, saying that the review petition was not filed within the time period as mentioned in the law. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)

Admakers Ask Hrithik To Reduce Waistline!

Here’s an example of strange things, which take place in the entertainment industry.

B-town’s favourite hero Hrithik Roshan, who you believed was perfect, was asked to lose the extra kilos for a commercial.

According to reports, the makers of clothing brand to be endorsed by Junior Roshan, wanted the actor to look more primed and best for an forthcoming ad, which is aimed at youth.

The ad makers plowed ahead and asked Hrithik to lose weight and even get rid of the brawny look that he’s sporting for his upcoming home production ‘Kites’.

The report also said that Rakesh Roshan was not in favor of his son losing any weight or muscle as he would have to start shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.

Rakesh also said that the lean look would not suit Hrithik’s role in Bhansali’s next.

A close friend of Hrithik said, “The brief given to Hrithik by the ad filmmakers was that they wanted him to sport a lean look. Being the perfectionist that he is, the actor was determined to work towards achieving his new look even though papa Rakesh Roshan wasn’t too happy with the fact that his son was going to shed his muscles.”

However, Hrithik decided to listen to his heart and the ad filmmaker and lost some weight.

Earlier, Hrithik had a 30-inch waistline, his waist is now 28 inches.

Now that’s called commitment. Hrithik sure has tons of it. No doubt he’s one of the biggies out here.
