Bollywood actor sets ramp on fire at Lakme Fashion Week

Mumbai, Sep 19 (ANI): The ‘Lakme Fashion Week 2010′ made a colourful beginning in Mumbai on Friday.

On the first day of the five-day show, mother-daughter designer duo of Neeta and Niksha Lulla hogged the limelight with spring/summer collections.

Neeta Lulla’s collection comprised kurtas and long floor length jackets, saris with crystal borders, flared pants and traditional male outfits.

The designer created deep elegant necklines for the dramatic diamante necklaces.

Lulla termed her collection as ‘Indo-Western fusion clothes.’

“The Indo-Western fusion clothes which I have designed this year it’s primarily to bring out a global appeal to the garment which I think consumers of today like and besides that the collection is targeted to Spring-Summer,” Lulla said.

Neeta’s showstopper was the Bollywood actor Sameera Reddy in a dramatic beige stitched jersey skirt and a crystal-encrusted bustier.

“Neeta is one of my best friends and I’ll always be her face and she will be mine but today was special because mother and daughter duo of Neeta and Niksha Lulla for the first time presented their collection and secondly we tried this outfit on and I just feel really sexy and that’s what is important so that’s important,” said Reddy.

Niksha Lulla debuted in the fashion world, presenting one of the most youthful and trendy lines on the opening day.

Niksha’s showstopper was the gorgeous Dia Mirza who glided down the ramp in tulle layered bustier mini gleaming with sequins. (ANI)

Sir Elton John plans to adopt 14-month-old Ukranian boy

London, September 13 (ANI): Sir Elton John is planning to adopt a child from Ukraine with partner David Furnish.

The singer revealed that a 14-month-old boy called Lev has apparently “stolen his heart.”

The child had performed at an orphanage in Ukraine while the ‘Candle In The Wind’ hitmaker was on a visit.

The 62-year-old confessed that he had always avoided adopting someone because of his age and continuous tours.

“David and I have always talked about adoption, David always wanted to adopt a child and I always said ‘no’ because I am 62 and I think because of the travelling I do and the life I have, maybe it wouldn’t be fair for the child,” the BBC News quoted him as saying.

“But having seen Lev today, I would love to adopt him. I don’t know how we do that but he has stolen my heart. And he has stolen David’s heart and it would be wonderful if we can have a home. I’ve changed my mind today,” he added.

The death of Elton’s long-term keyboardist, Guy Babylon, has influenced him too.

He said: “Last week I lost one of my best friends; my keyboard player died of a heart attack at 52.

“It broke my heart because he was such a genius and so young and has two wonderful children.

“What better opportunity to replace someone I lost than to replace him with someone I can give a future to.” (ANI)

Man U in talks with Kaka over a summer move

London, Apr 25 (ANI): Manchester United has held talks with Brazilian soccer star Kaka over a sensational summer move.

The Brazilian’s representatives met United to discuss personal terms, which would total 35 million pounds in wages alone.

A source close to the AC Milan superstar confirmed: “It was a very positive meeting, although nothing was agreed.

“The player wants a five-year contract and wages of 135,000 pounds a week. He is very keen to join United and these are figures that are within United’s pay structure. It’s up to them what happens now,” The Sun quoted the source, as saying.

The talks did not involve any discussion about a transfer fee, but Milan expects to get at least 70 million pounds for their star player.

The big question now is how United will find the cash and whether they will sell Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer to Real Madrid.

Kaka, 27, has already spoken of his affinity for United, saying: “They have some great players in Giggs and Scholes, and especially Wayne Rooney.”

“One of my best friends, Anderson, is also there – how can anyone say no? They are the English and European champions and a great club to play for,” he added. (ANI)

‘Lymelife’ sex scene left Emma Roberts red-faced

Washington, Apr 2 (ANI): Hollywood actress Emma Roberts has revealed that enacting a sex scene with Rory Culkin in her forthcoming flick ‘Lymelife’ left her red-faced.

The niece of acclaimed actress Julia Roberts said that she found the scene to be thwarting.

“It was kind of awkward and embarrassing. It was kind of an honest first time kind of scene, I guess. I think seeing it onscreen is more awkward actually. I saw it when I was with one of my really good friends, one of my best friends who I’ve known since I was in kindergarten and she couldn’t even watch.

She was burying her face in my shoulder,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

Emma also revealed that she wanted to get through with the scene in one go itself.

“When we shot it I was thinking, ‘This is really embarrassing.

I don’t know if I can do this. I don’t know if I’m ever going to do this again.’ But then, when you’re actually on the set, you just want to do it in one take and you just want to get it over with. So you just go out there and do it. I think that anticipation is almost worse than the actual scene itself,” she said. (ANI)
