Online video-chats making blind dates a thing of the past

Melbourne, Mar 10 (ANI): With the advent of video dating services that allow potential partners to see each other via webcams, the trend of blind dates and the uncertainty that comes with them are coming to an end.

An increasing number of video dating services are appearing on the web, with an Australian service called Skyecandy leading the charge.

Founder of Sydney-based Skyecandy, Melonie Ryan, said that the newly launched dating service worked with Skype, the online video and audio chatting service.

Skyecandy users can sign up for up to 10 five-minute online speed dates in a row, with partners chosen on their age, basic details and location.

Users then spend a minute between dates rating participants on their friendliness and whether they”d like to exchange details to chat again.

Ryan said that so far, the service had attracted about 18,000 users, with online daters in Australia and the United States the fastest to adopt it.

One user Solicitor Kristyna Drummond-Hay, 27, said she tried the service after finding it while looking for Skype software.

She said online video dating was “nerve-racking at first”, but very soon she started likening seeing her online dates live on her computer screen.

“I”ve been on dating sites like RSVP and Oasis Active and people write what they think a woman wants to hear, but in front of your face you can pick up on their mannerisms and the tone of their voice and judge how genuine they are,” the Courier Mail quoted Drummond-Hay as saying. (ANI)

Noel Gallagher calls brother Liam ‘f***ing moron’

London, Aug 31 (ANI): Noel Gallagher has slammed his brother Liam for his new fashion venture, and called him “f***ing moron”, after splitting from the band Oasis.

“They say never work with children and animals. No one mentioned f***ing morons though, did they?” the Sun quoted him as having told a friend.

The guitarist believes that the frontman’s launch of his own new clothes label, Pretty Green, has gone to his head.

He reportedly added to his pal: “I think all that modelling malarkey has gone to his head. It’s a pleasure to give him time and space to work on his autumn/winter collection.”

Meanwhile, Liam has gone for a trip to Lake Como in Italy with his wife Nicole Appleton, Oasis bass player Andy Bell, and his girlfriend, reports the Sun.

Sources believe that the singer’s alcohol habits led to the division of the band, and differences with his brother.

An insider said: “Liam has been drinking heavily for the duration of the tour and regularly got very abusive and personal. He has taunted Noel’s girlfriend, Sara, other band members and the crew.

People have been frightened to go near him. He is one very angry man who needs to sort his issues out.” (ANI)

Gallagher brothers’ mom expect them to reunite

London, Aug 31 (ANI): After Noel Gallagher’ quit rock band ‘Oasis’ following differences with brother Liam, their mother has expressed confidence that the two brothers will reunite.

“I hope this isn’t the end of Oasis. I don’t think it is. They’re just tired at the end of the tour. They’ve had fights before and got over it,” the Daily Star quoted her as having told the Mirror.

She added: “They do love each other, but they’ve always been very different. The funny thing is, they didn’t fight as children. They didn’t fight until they started the band. They are two very different characters and I think when you’re with somebody 24/7 and you’ve got two different egos they are bound to clash at times.

Noel has said that “violent intimidation” within the group made him quit. (ANI)

Noel Gallagher quits Oasis

London, Aug 29 (ANI): Noel Gallagher has quit rock band Oasis following differences with frontman and brother Liam.

“It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight,” the BBC News quoted him as stating on the band’s website.

He said: “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

The guitarist apologized to fans waiting for the band to perform in near future.

He added: “Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan.”

Before the announcement came, the band had pulled out of second concert in the space of a week.

They were scheduled to play at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, but to the shock of their fans, screens at either side of the stage showed the message “as a result of an altercation within the band, the Oasis gig has been cancelled”.

Hamish McBain, from music magazine New Musical Express, believes that it really must be the end of Oasis.

He said: “The relationship between Noel and Liam has been frosty over the last tour, to say the least, but it’s been frosty before.

“Noel has left tours before, Liam’s not showed up for gigs before, and they’ve carried on. But this, certainly the way Noel’s presented it on the Oasis website, it does feel like it has a degree of finality to it.”

Meanwhile, Oasis diehards are finding it difficult to come to terms with it.

A band follower named Wolvolass said: “I feel sick, sooo many good memories and gigs seeing Oasis over the years.”

Another fan MattGriffin added: “This is the worst day ever.”

Oasis was formed in Manchester in 1991and were originally known as The Rain.

They have a great track record with eight UK number-one singles, 15 NME Awards, five BRIT Awards, nine Q Awards and four MTV Europe Music Awards. (ANI)

Now, a butt cam to tell women the real truth about their rears!

Melbourne, August 25 (ANI): Women may have had their prayers answered, for an Australian retailer has come up with the country’s first butt cams.eanswest has introduced the technology that captures image of your backside on your own personal screen in the changeroom.

Women can save themselves the trouble of stepping out into the main store, and reviewing themselves in front lined up lights and mirrors, reports the Daily Telegraph.

CEO Stephen Younane said that the camera was a “way to bring some fitting room fun to the experience of purchasing a pair of jeans.”

But leading retail consultant Stephen Kulmar, of Retail Oasis, expressed doubts about changeroom novelties like the butt cam, suggesting it to be a sales-boosting strategy that also compensated for decreasing numbers of sales staff.

Kulmar said: “For males the changeroom is where the sale is made. Men don’t like going shopping so if you can get them into the changeroom this is where the sale is made. And for women in particular, if they think their behind looks good in something, they’ll buy it.”

He added: “Instead of adding staff, they are re-organising their service.” (ANI)

Liam and Noel renew bonds over posh Mexican tequila

London, May 18 (ANI): Just when the squabbling Gallagher brothers-Liam and Noel-started on their usual bickering during their recent tour, they have found a way to tolerate each other-their common liking for luxury Gran Patron tequila in South America.

The ‘Oasis’ stars have stopped bickering after discovering the posh Mexican tequila.

Currently on tour in Brazil, the brother duo has become hooked on the 1,500 pounds-a-bottle spirit, ever since they realised that they could gulp down dozens of shots without any ill-effects the next day.
