Yoko Ono mourns Oasis split

London, June 4 (ANI): Yoko Ono is quite upset about the Oasis spilt – because she feels goodness shines from the band”s music.

John Lennon”s widow is an avowed Oasis fan and still finds it difficult to believe Noel Gallagher walked out on his brother Liam and bandmates prompting the group”s break-up.

Liam still wants to make music with his Oasis pals, but chief songwriter Noel won”t be part of the band.

And Ono is mourning the band”s split.

“I love Oasis. We need the power of goodness like them. The goodness is shining from their music,” the Daily Express quoted her, as saying. (ANI)

‘Oasis’ members had parted ways after guitarist Noel Gallagher separated before a concert in Paris over differences with brother Liam.

Liam had said last year: ”” If we don”t come up with something else by the time we”re ready to release the album it”ll be Oasis.

””I”m not going to call myself something ridiculous just for the sake of it.”” (ANI)

England is best country to host World Cup: Capello

London, May 20 (ANI): Coach Fabio Capello has said that England is the best country to host the World Cup.

The England boss joined the 4,000 people who have backed The Sun’s campaign to save the country’s 2018 bid.

“This is the best country where you can play football. The transport, the fans, the stadiums, the hotels, everything is good. This is why I think it will be fine for England,” he said.

The paper launched Save Our Bid this week, calling on FIFA to ignore former bid chairman Lord Triesman’s corruption claims.

Boxing ace Ricky Hatton joined that campaign by signing the e-petition, saying: “England is where the beautiful game began. Bring it on.”

Oasis star Noel Gallagher, 42, speaking at the launch of Umbro’s I’m in campaign, said: “England should win. It’s a travesty we have only had it once.”

Other celebs backing The Sun’s bid include former England captain Alan Shearer, TV host Adrian Chiles and Fatboy Slim star Norman Cook. (ANI)

Noel Gallagher to become dad for third time

London, March 26 (ANI): British rocker Noel Gallagher and his girlfriend, Sara Macdonald, are expecting their second child together.

Gallagher, former member of the band Oasis, also has a daughter from a previous marriage.

According to the Sun, a three-month scan confirmed the pregnancy, and Gallagher is ‘thrilled to bits’.

Gallagher also has a son, Donovan, with MacDonald, who was born in 2007.

“Noel and Sara are over the moon. They”re so happy that Donovan will have a little partner in crime to play with. Their family is complete… Noel has been up to his eyes rehearsing for gigs recently and Sara has had her hands full because the family are moving house in London. The news has given them both something to smile about,” the Daily Star quoted a source as telling the publication. (ANI)

Gallagher describes stage attack

Former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher said it felt like he had been “hit by a bus” when he was pushed from behind at the Virgin Music Festival in 2008.

Gallagher’s victim impact statement was read at a court hearing for David Sullivan, 48, who has pleaded guilty to causing bodily harm when he sneaked backstage at the Toronto music festival and pushed Gallagher into monitors while the band was performing.

Gallagher suffered three broken and dislodged ribs which were apparently the result of the push and not the fall.

Oasis was forced to cancel numerous shows while Gallagher recovered.

“It was as if I had been hit by a bus,” Gallagher said in his statement.

Gallagher added that he had had several months of “extreme pain” and still has lingering effects from the assault.

Sullivan faces up to eight months in jail and a reported $US1.94 million civil suit.

His lawyer has argued for a conditional sentence on the charge.

The crown attorney in Toronto has said Sullivan’s drunkenness was not an excuse for his actions.

Noel Gallagher quit Oasis over paternity row with brother

Washington, September 1 (ANI): Noel Gallagher allegedly quit Oasis after his brother and band member Liam joked he was not the biological father of his daughter.

Liam was said to have “jokingly suggested” that Noel’s daughter Anais, 9, was conceived when the songwriter’s former wife Meg Matthews was having an affair – a sneer that was tagged “unforgivable” by the guitarist.

“It was a dumb thing to say. They had a big fight when he made the gag,” Contactmusic quoted an insider telling gossip blogger Perez Hilton.

“Noel went for him. He was in a blind fury. And he still hasn’t calmed down,” the insider apparently added.

The incident reportedly occurred, as the brothers were about to perform at Paris’ Rock en Seine festival on August 28.

Noel purportedly stormed out of the backstage area and officially declared leaving the band later that night.

In a statement released on the official Oasis website, he said: “It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.

“People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

He later added: “The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable.” (ANI)

Noel Gallagher calls brother Liam ‘f***ing moron’

London, Aug 31 (ANI): Noel Gallagher has slammed his brother Liam for his new fashion venture, and called him “f***ing moron”, after splitting from the band Oasis.

“They say never work with children and animals. No one mentioned f***ing morons though, did they?” the Sun quoted him as having told a friend.

The guitarist believes that the frontman’s launch of his own new clothes label, Pretty Green, has gone to his head.

He reportedly added to his pal: “I think all that modelling malarkey has gone to his head. It’s a pleasure to give him time and space to work on his autumn/winter collection.”

Meanwhile, Liam has gone for a trip to Lake Como in Italy with his wife Nicole Appleton, Oasis bass player Andy Bell, and his girlfriend, reports the Sun.

Sources believe that the singer’s alcohol habits led to the division of the band, and differences with his brother.

An insider said: “Liam has been drinking heavily for the duration of the tour and regularly got very abusive and personal. He has taunted Noel’s girlfriend, Sara, other band members and the crew.

People have been frightened to go near him. He is one very angry man who needs to sort his issues out.” (ANI)

Gallagher brothers’ mom expect them to reunite

London, Aug 31 (ANI): After Noel Gallagher’ quit rock band ‘Oasis’ following differences with brother Liam, their mother has expressed confidence that the two brothers will reunite.

“I hope this isn’t the end of Oasis. I don’t think it is. They’re just tired at the end of the tour. They’ve had fights before and got over it,” the Daily Star quoted her as having told the Mirror.

She added: “They do love each other, but they’ve always been very different. The funny thing is, they didn’t fight as children. They didn’t fight until they started the band. They are two very different characters and I think when you’re with somebody 24/7 and you’ve got two different egos they are bound to clash at times.

Noel has said that “violent intimidation” within the group made him quit. (ANI)

Noel Gallagher quits Oasis

London, Aug 29 (ANI): Noel Gallagher has quit rock band Oasis following differences with frontman and brother Liam.

“It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight,” the BBC News quoted him as stating on the band’s website.

He said: “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”

The guitarist apologized to fans waiting for the band to perform in near future.

He added: “Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan.”

Before the announcement came, the band had pulled out of second concert in the space of a week.

They were scheduled to play at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, but to the shock of their fans, screens at either side of the stage showed the message “as a result of an altercation within the band, the Oasis gig has been cancelled”.

Hamish McBain, from music magazine New Musical Express, believes that it really must be the end of Oasis.

He said: “The relationship between Noel and Liam has been frosty over the last tour, to say the least, but it’s been frosty before.

“Noel has left tours before, Liam’s not showed up for gigs before, and they’ve carried on. But this, certainly the way Noel’s presented it on the Oasis website, it does feel like it has a degree of finality to it.”

Meanwhile, Oasis diehards are finding it difficult to come to terms with it.

A band follower named Wolvolass said: “I feel sick, sooo many good memories and gigs seeing Oasis over the years.”

Another fan MattGriffin added: “This is the worst day ever.”

Oasis was formed in Manchester in 1991and were originally known as The Rain.

They have a great track record with eight UK number-one singles, 15 NME Awards, five BRIT Awards, nine Q Awards and four MTV Europe Music Awards. (ANI)

Oasis reimburse ticket money to 20,000 fans

London, July 11 (ANI): Oasis rockers Liam and Noel Gallagher have sent out refund cheques to 20,000 fans after their last month gig was spoiled by technical problems.

They have signed the slips that reimburse ticket money.

Promoters were horrified when Noel, 42, offered to compensate fans after sound problems disrupted their gig in front of 70,000 fans at Heaton Park, Manchester.

He announced: “This is a free gig. Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund.”

The refunds are accompanied by a letter apologising for the problems at the June 4 show.

However, some of the fans refuse to encash the cheques, insisting they will keep the cheques as collectors’ items.

“They are distinctive, so a few people may decide to keep them,” the Daily Star quoted an Oasis spokesman as saying. (ANI)

Noel Gallagher says he shelled out £1m on ‘beautiful’ drugs

London, July 5 (ANI): Rocker Noel Gallagher has confessed that he shelled out a staggering million pounds on drugs, which he called “the most beautiful thing about being in a rock band.”

The Oasis star also slammed Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for not trying the hedonistic excesses in an interview with an Italian newspaper.

“I look at Chris Martin who says he has never taken drugs in his life and I think he is an idiot,” Sky News quoted him as telling Corriere Della Sera.

“Doing drugs is the most beautiful thing about being in a rock band. Up until 1998 I must have spent 1m pounds on drugs then I stopped because it is bad for your health, brain, life and for people around you.

“But while you use them – except for heroin which kills people and which I have never tried – as you lot (Italians) would say ‘Mamma Mia’,” he added. (ANI)

Gallagher brothers slam “invented” Duffy

Washington, June 20(ANI): Oasis stars Noel and Liam Gallagher have criticized singer Duffy, saying she’s “invented”.

While referring to her recently filmed advert for Diet Coke, frontman Liam said: “Duffy was alright until she opened her mouth. The music is OK until she did that stupid advert and things like that. It’s ridiculous,” Contactmusic reports.

Noel, Liam’s brother and guitarist, added: “Good luck to her, she’s a nice girl but you just feel like it’s been invented.

“It’s like they’ve said, ‘Amy Winehouse, she’s got a black beehive, we’ll do a blonde one.

“That’s the problem with the musical landscape, everyone’s got clipboards.” (ANI)

Noel Gallagher is against gigs in car-parking areas

London, May 15 (ANI): Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has expressed his anger on promoters who book huge car parking areas as location for their gigs.

Noel, who recently performed in Argentina, Chile and Peru, revealed that he would like to perform in huge stadiums instead of car parks.

He further emphasized that his fans are forced to come to remote areas to see their gigs, which are organized in huge car parking areas.

“Why not just do 2 big, f**k off gigs in Rio and Sao Paolo? If everyone in Argentina is willing to travel to Buenos Aires to be part of one of the greatest nights of all time (I’m not kidding, you should’ve been there!), then I don’t see what the difference is in Brazil,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

“It’s the kids who lose out, if you ask me. Someone throwing up a make-shift stage in some car park can never compare with the noise and colour of a stadium. Still, the gigs themselves are great. Could be better though,” he added. (ANI)

Oasis star Liam Gallagher blasts brother Noel’s solo album plans

London, May 12 (ANI): Oasis lead guitarist Noel Gallagher was pretty right in mentioning that his brother Lima Gallagher would “freak out” if he hears about his plans of recording a solo album, for the latter has actually blasted his plans.

Frontman Liam said that with everybody planning to record solo album, then there was no need of an united band.

“If everyone starts going off doing solo records then you might as well just split the band up, know what I mean,” the Sun quoted him as saying.

Liam did not hesitate to declare that the worst thing about ‘Oasis’ was being in the band with his brother.

“The worst part of life in Oasis was being in a band with your f***ing brother,” he said. (ANI)

Washington, May 5 (ANI): Oasis’ Noel Gallagher has dubbed the band as a rudderless ship, which is facing bad times while touring South America.

The guitarist, on his blog on the band’s official MySpace page, said conflicts between the band members might brew up a storm.

“We speak at bad times for the Oasis tour,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“Bad times. We are a rudderless ship at the minute. And there’s a f****n’ s**t-storm on the horizon. I guess all will be revealed in due course,” he added.

He continued: “Strange atmosphere. I wouldn’t mind but we’re in South America! Playing massive stadiums and there’s a bit too much hrmph-ing going on for my liking. Shame really.” (ANI)

Oasis won’t split, says Liam Gallagher

Washington, Apr 27 (ANI): Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has revealed that the band won’t split despite tensions between him and brother and guitarist Noel Gallagher.

The pair has been feuding for the past 15 years. However, Liam reassures that the split is unlikely.

“(Things are) not good. Not good. He likes Oasis and I like Oasis, so I’m not leaving and he’s not leaving, so we gotta do it, but we don’t get on, so I can’t be a**ed, man,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“He’s different and I’m different. We’ve done well, 15 years at it – 15 years of having problems together, we’ve done pretty well,” he added.

The Gallaghers have taken their feud public in recent weeks, starting with Noel’s revelation that his brother has never met his 19-month-old nephew Donovan. (ANI)

Liam Gallagher laughs off brother’s ‘unstable relationship’ comments

Washington, Apr 22 (ANI): Oasis band member Liam Gallagher has laughed off his brother Noel’s comments about their unstable relationship, saying that the outburst was due to his overly sensitive emotions.

Noel Gallagher had told Britain’s Q magazine that his relationship with his brother is so bad, that the band will have to take a five-year break before they make another record.

The two brothers are well known for their feud, but even after Noel’s outburst, Liam decided to take the comments lightly, even poking fun at his brother for his recent radio show with Russell Brand on his personal Twitter.com page.

“Noel Gallagher, Russell Brand, f**king hell…what a pair of old housewife’s (sic) LG,” Contactmusic quoted him as writing.

“Is it that time of month again? LG,” he added about Noel’s comments. (ANI)

Russell Brand, Jonathan Ross now ‘want to conquer the world’

London, April 22 (ANI): Pranksters Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross have teamed up again and now want to conquer the world.

The two pranksters had faced much heat after the Andrew Sachs scandal, which led to Brand’s resignation from the BBC in October after he boasted about sleeping with the 78-year-old’s granddaughter.

Ross too had been suspended after making lewd comments on the Fawlty Towers actor’s answering machine.

The pair joined forces again on air when Brand invited Ross to be a guest on his Talksport show with Oasis star Noel Gallagher.

“We’ve hopefully healed the hurt. I’m back with Russ, and it’s great fun. One day I want to do a big show with him and we will rule the world,” the Mirror quoted Ross as saying.

Brand, along with co-host Noel, recently rang up none other than US President Barack Obama, and left a message on his answer machine that said:

“Dear Barack Obama, we are calling to find out if you are the world’s most famous West Ham supporter as it is claimed.”

Noel later added: “That message better not jeopardise my American visa situation.” (ANI)

Next Oasis record will be in five years, says Noel Gallagher

London, Apr 21 (ANI): It seems the tension between Noel Gallagher and his brother Liam has hit an all time low, with the former saying that it will be five years before band Oasis makes another record.

The relationship between the two brothers is said to be so bad that Liam had not even met his 19-month-old nephew Donovan, Noel’s son by girlfriend Sara Macdonald.

“He’s never seen my little lad, just pictures. To a stranger it sounds ludicrous, but you wouldn’t have him in the house if he spoke to you the way he speaks to me and my family,” the Sun quoted Noel as saying.

“Liam is constantly developing techniques for balancing that f****** tambourine on his head.

“He’s rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy. He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup,” he stated.

Their professional relationship has been suffering ever since Liam disappeared while recording album ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ last year, to marry Nicole Appleton in a secret Valentine’s Day ceremony.

“There’s two great tracks lying there not finished from the last record, because Liam f***** off to get married,” 41-year-old Noel said.

“That annoys the f*** out of me. We’ve got a 50-piece choir on both, they’re enormous. There’s no talking to be done. Maybe that’s the problem – there’s no fall-out from it. I never said to him, ‘What are you doing, you ****?

“If albums mean that little to him, I don’t want to argue. He can f*** off as far as I’m concerned.

“By the time we make another record we’ll be five years older,” he added. (ANI)
