Norman finds new love after divorcing Evert

Melbourne, Apr 19 (ANI): Australian golf legend Greg Norman has found a new love less than six months after divorcing his second wife Chris Evert.

New Idea magazine reports that Norman has been introducing mother-of-two Kirsten Kutner to his close friends as his new girlfriend.

Norman, 55, says he’s in love with Kutner, 41, an interior designer who grew up in Sydney’s northern suburbs.

They were friends in the past and love blossomed after they met each other again in Cairo last year, New Idea reports.

“In life, we all go through a learning curve and my life is no exception. I am now in a very good place with Kirsten,” Norman told the magazine.

Norman married Chris Evert in 2008, but they divorced just 18 months later, in December last year, News.com.au reports.

He divorced his first wife, Laura Andrassy in 2006, after 25 years of marriage. (ANI)

Stephanie Rice finally celebrating birthday with a bang today

Melbourne, Sep 19 (ANI): Australian swimming beauty Stephanie Rice is all set to celebrate her 21st birthday today-almost two months after her actual birthday-in a grand bash.

The Olympic star had to postpone festivities because of the world champ meet in Rome in July.

But, today, she will start her birthday celebrations at the Marriot Hotel, and roam across town with her gang in a giant luxury Hummer.

The party will swing over to Portside at Hamilton, where she will be cutting her birthday cake, reports the Courier Mail.

The swimmer celebrated her real birthday with a single piece of cake at a family do back on June 17.

According to reports, Rice has sold the rights to cover the bash to New Idea magazine. (ANI)

Tennis star Hewitt, spouse launch legal action against Oz magazine

Melbourne, Mar.31 (ANI): Australian tennis star Lleyton Hewitt and his wife Bec have started legal action against the New Idea magazine after it claimed the actress was seeing another man – who in reality was her brother.

The magazine ran a cover story titled “Bec’s other man” and claimed she was spending more and more time with a “hunky” American fitness trainer.

The magazine carried photographs of Bec and “Minder Mark” with the Hewitts’ two young children.

The Hewitts yesterday told the Herald Sun “Minder Mark” was in fact Bec’s brother, Shaun Cartwright.

They described the article as a “calculated deception” of the Australian public.

“Our marriage has never been stronger,” they said.

“We are blessed with two wonderful healthy children (Mia and Cruz) and we are still very much in love.

“For some time now we’ve had to endure fictional, rubbish stories by New Idea and Woman’s Day targeted at our marriage, private lives and even work with charities.

“This brazen fabrication by New Idea will hopefully highlight to the Australian public the untruths and lies some magazines will resort to achieve increased sales,” news.com.au quoted them both, as saying.

Bec Hewitt is demanding an apology and correction from New Idea.

Tennis star Hewitt, ex-management firm involved in a bitter dispute

Melbourne, Feb.26 (ANI): Australian tennis star Lleyton Hewitt is embroiled in a bitter legal fight with his former management company, which has exposed his amazing multi-million dollar endorsements and media deals.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Hewitt has been accused of breaching the Trade Practices Act, reneging on agreements and breaching exclusive contracts.

Hewitt has returned serve with claims against Octagon Inc of misleading and deceptive conduct, unjust enrichment and management incompetence, the Herald Sun reports.

Court documents contain claims that in 2005 and 2006 Hewitt was paid a net total of 6.75 million dollars from endorsements and tournament guarantees.

New Idea magazine paid Hewitt 84,000 dollars, Nike 3.5 million dollars, Yonex racquets 2.3 million dollars and Optus 130,000 dollars, it has been claimed.

He received 330,000 dollars for endorsing tennis games for two video companies.

Tournament organizers in Sydney, Adelaide and at Queen’s in London paid him 340,000 dollars just to turn up. In those years his world ranking dropped from two to 20.

The documents reveal that Channel 7 agreed to pay Lleyton Hewitt Management 600,000 dollars from February 2005 to January 2007 for appearances and interviews.

Octagon Inc, a US-based sports management company, has sued Hewitt and LHM in the Victorian Supreme Court claiming it was entitled to a bigger slice of his earnings from 2000 onwards.

Hewitt, 28, and LHM have given Octagon a backhander saying that they severed ties with the company at the end of 2004.

Hewitt has career prize money of 27 million dollars. (ANI)
