Man accused of breaking into Amanda Peet’s home acquitted

New York, May 11 (ANI): A man, who was accused of breaking into actress Amanda Peet’s Manhattan home and stealing her jewellery, has been acquitted.

Career criminal Henry Santos would have faced 15 years in prison if he had been convicted of the 2009 intrusion at the Tribeca loft.

Out on 2,000 dollars bail, he didn’t show up for the verdict, but it was not held against him since he was found not guilty.

Peet’s babysitter testified that she walked in on Santos after he pried open a skylight – and that he fled while she grilled him.

But Santos’ lawyer claimed the nanny picked the wrong man out of a line-up and that there was no physical evidence connecting him to the crime.

One juror said the nanny’s description of the perp didn’t impress them.

“She was very vague,” the New York Daily News quoted the juror as saying.

Peet’s screenwriter husband, David Friedman, testified during the trial in Manhattan Supreme Court about the call he got from her after the incident.

“She was pregnant and she was panicked,” he added. (ANI)

How Heather Mills tortured her ex-nanny with her diva-like demands

London, March 30 (ANI): Heather Mills” former nanny Sara Trumble has revealed how she had to bear the diva-like antics of Sir Paul McCartney”s ex wife.

Trumble, 26, told an employment tribunal that the Dancing on Ice star left her a “rude” voicemail rant on Mothers” Day.

The message asked Trumble to come to work even as she was on maternity leave and had a difficult pregnancy.

She also claimed a suspicious Mills, 42, questioned her over whether a new male pal had been flirting with her.

Trumble, who quit after she was replaced as a nanny and assigned cleaning duties, is claiming undisclosed damages on grounds of discrimination over maternity leave, sex discrimination and unfair dismissal.

Mills, mum to McCartney”s daughter Beatrice, six, could be seen quite disconcerted as Trumble gave evidence before a panel of three in Ashford, Kent.

She shook her head and murmured “no, no” when Nick Fairweather, representing Trumble, called upon the tribunal to accept evidence Mills was a known “liar”, referring to her High Court divorce ruling. However, the panel dismissed it as “not relevant” to the case.

The panel was told how Trumble met Mills in 2003 at a health club in Rye, East Sussex, where the ex-nanny was working as a beauty therapist.

Mills asked if she would babysit Beatrice for her and McCartney, 67, in the evenings at their nearby home.

“I thought Heather was really nice and genuine and the two of us got on very, very well,” the Sun quoted Trumble, as telling the tribunal.

In April 2004 she took up the job of a nanny with Mills, who paid her 260pounds a week cash-in-hand on a self-employed basis five days a week.

Trumble said: “She told me how much she trusted me with Beatrice. I thought it was a good opportunity and I fancied a change.”

She went on: “I bring these proceedings with much sadness as I saw Heather as a friend. Heather can be very generous, but there was also a distrustable and unpleasant side of her.

“She likes to surround herself with people who will support her blindly. She is also very highly strung. I do believe that Heather is more than capable of lying and getting others to lie for her.

“I believe I was sidelined, perhaps as I was no more use to her.”

Trumble began work at the McCartneys” home in Peasmarsh, Sussex, while Mills was still the former Beatles” wife.

She said she and Mills had a “close personal relationship” and that her boss even bought her a new car – a sporty two-seat Daihatsu Copen.

Mills separated from McCartney in 2006.

Trumble said: “She was very bitter towards him. I was, I believe, a great source of comfort and support for her at this time.”

But their relationship turned sour when Trumble returned from six months” maternity leave after giving birth to a baby girl.

She said she was asked to come to Mills” house – while still on leave in 2007 – to record a video interview.

Trumble said: “I was asked to tell them how wonderful I thought Heather was. I felt I”d no option.”

Mills allegedly called her and angrily asked when she would resume her duties.

Trumble said: “It was a really horrible, rude message, and it reduced me to tears.” (ANI)

Australia’s Mary Poppins found

After a worldwide search, an Adelaide woman has won the coveted role of Mary Poppins in the Australian production of the musical.

Verity Hunt-Ballard will play the world’s most-loved nanny when the musical opens in Melbourne in July.

Producer Cameron Mackintosh says the search for the perfect performer has been the most exhaustive he has done in the 30 years he has been bringing productions Down Under.

Hunt-Ballard, who will star opposite So You Think You Can Dance? judge Matt Lee as Bert, got the role after a final audition in Amsterdam last weekend.

Producers last year launched a worldwide hunt for the perfect Australian to play Mary Poppins after auditions with more than 650 performers in Melbourne and Sydney failed to turn up the right woman.

They even accepted audition videos posted on YouTube.

Hunt-Ballard, who is currently playing Frankie Valli’s lover in Jersey Boys, said: “Like Mary Poppins, my feet haven’t touched the ground since I received the news.”

The show goes into rehearsals in May.

Cindy Crawford blackmailer jailed

A man has been sentenced to two years in jail after trying to extort $US100,000 from Cindy Crawford.

Edis Kayalar, 26, surrendered to German authorities in November after he was charged in Los Angeles with trying to extort money from Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, over a photo of their seven-year-old daughter gagged and bound to a chair.

The photograph was reportedly taken by the girl’s nanny when they were playing “cops and robbers”.

According to court documents in Los Angeles, it fell into the hands of Kayalar – a friend of the nanny’s.

Judge Joachim Spieth noted that Kayalar had admitted asking for the money even though he claimed it was not extortion, rather an appeal “to cover costs” for his attempt to warn Crawford that the nanny was not a good influence.

“The attempted extortion was at an advanced stage and failed,” Judge Spieth told the court in the south-west town of Kirchheim unter Teck.

Kayalar – who is German – contacted Crawford last year and sought to use the photo to get money from the couple, allegedly saying tabloids would pay a lot.

Crawford and Gerber contacted authorities, prompting Los Angeles police to launch a criminal investigation.

Kayalar was arrested in September and deported to Germany for being in the US illegally.

In November, he again phoned Crawford and Gerber and demanded $US100,000, which led to him being charged with extortion.

Cindy Crawford extortionist jailed

London, March 10 (ANI): A German man found guilty of attempting to blackmail supermodel Cindy Crawford has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Edis Kayalar, 26, surrendered to German authorities in November after he was charged in Los Angeles with trying to extort 62,500 pounds from Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber over a controversial photo of their daughter.

The picture showed the girl, who was seven years old at the time, tied to a chair and wearing revealing clothing during a game of ”cops and robbers”, reports the Daily Star.

Gerber is said to have paid Kayalar, an acquaintance of the family”s former nanny, 625 pounds to prevent him from selling the photo to the media.

However, he had to turn to officials at America”s Federal Bureau of Investigation when the crook made further demands for cash.

According to German website Thelocal.de, he was convicted of attempted blackmail at a court in the town of Kirchheim unter Teck, in southern Germany and handed a two-year prison sentence.

Judge Joachim Spieth told the court: “The attempt at blackmail was well-advanced until it failed.” (ANI)

Becoming a dad has been my life’s most spiritual moment: Ricky Martin

New York, Aug 20 (ANI): Ricky Martin has said that becoming a father has been “the most spiritual moment” of his life.

The pop singer welcomed twins, Matteo and Valentino, who were delivered via surrogacy, in August last year.

The ‘She Bangs’ hit maker insists that he loves being a full-time nanny as he does not want to miss even a single moment of parenthood.

Katona’s ex-hubby may fight for children’s custody

London, Aug 19 (ANI): Kerry Katona’s ex-hubby Brian McFadden does not want his children to stay with their mother and has almost made up his mind to fight for their custody rights, it has emerged.

The former Westlife star is enraged that Katona snorted cocaine while the children were at home. He believes the children are no longer safe with the drug addict mum and is already talking to his fiancée Delta Goodrem and lawyers about the custody issue.

The Sun quoted a source as saying: “He is talking to Delta and lawyers to see what arrangements they can make about his kids.

“He no longer wants them to stay with Kerry. He no longer feels they are safe.”cFadden is also worried that the sacking of Katona as the face of Iceland foods will leave her too broke to look after seven year-old Molly, and one year younger Lilly Sue.

A friend said: “He is a fantastic father…this has shaken him to the core.

“He draws some comfort from the fact Kerry has a nanny. But now how will she be able to go on affording one?”

“Brian realises he has a duty of care to his children and that is his priority…He will not see them put at any kind of risk,” a pal said. (ANI)

The 11-year-old along with her brothers Prince Michael, 12, and Blanket, seven, went to a Jehovah’s Witness service in Los Angeles with Jacko’s oldest sister Rebbie, 59, reports The Sun.

A source said: “Michael always wanted Rebbie to help with the kids if anything ever happened to him, so it’s nice to see her involved.”

Also present was nanny Grace Rwaramba, who has been reunited with the kids as part of a care “dream team” with Jacko’s mum Katherine.

And the kids’ godfather, Oliver! child star Mark Lester, 51, said they “seemed to be coping quite well”.

He added: “They are very polite and quiet. Despite all the publicity surrounding the family, they are trying to keep things as normal as possible at home.” (ANI)

Peter Andre ‘vows to fight for regular access to kids’

London, July 10 (ANI): Peter Andre has vowed to fight his estranged wife Katie Price a.k.a for regular access to the three children they raise while they wait for their divorce to be finalised.

The 36-year-old Australian pop star is reportedly frustrated the British glamour model keeps leaving the children Junior, four, Princess Tiaamii, two, and disabled son Harvey, seven, in the care of their nannies, while she is out socialising and working.

“The only thing Pete cares about is his children. He doesn’t want any money from Kate, she can keep the house. He just wants as much access to his children as he can,” the Sun quoted a pal as saying.

“The children are living with Kate and she dictates when Pete can see them.

“But the other day he found out they were spending all their time with the nanny and he just drove over to the house to get them.

“He knows that his kids need to be with their parents,” the pal added. (ANI)

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: Michael Jackson’s secret girlfriend was his children’s former nanny Grace Rwaramba

Jacko’s personal photographer Ian Barkley says: Grace loved Michael and he loved her.. it was an open secret among staff

Jackson's secret girlfriend was his children's former nanny Grace RwarambaMichael Jackson had a secret girlfriend who his children called “mom”, close friends of the singer have told the Sunday Mirror.

We can reveal that the star was in a long-term relationship with Ugandan-born Grace Rwaramba at the time he died.

Ian Barkley, who travelled the world with Jacko for three years as his personal photographer, says the couple’s romance was an open secret among staff after they fell in love while she was nanny to his children.

Ian told how, behind closed doors, Grace, 42, acted like a normal mum to Jackson’s kids Prince Michael, 12, Paris Katherine, 11 and six-year-old Prince Michael II.

“Grace loved Michael and he loved her,” he said. “The kids called her ‘Mom’.”

Last week Jackson’s former head of security Matt Fiddes revealed the King of Pop had a secret lover – but refused to reveal her name.

Fiddes, 30, who has known Jacko since the 1990s, said: “The family were aware that there was someone special in his life who he loved and adored and had his ups and downs with.

“For some time she’s been present in his life. She wasn’t a celebrity figure – absolutely not. I imagine she is distraught right now.”

Another of Jackson’s bodyguards said: “Matt was referring to Grace. They were more like a married couple than employer and employee.”

The minder, who asked not to be identified added: “Grace was the closest person to Michael and the kids. She will be broken-hearted. The children were always their joint priority and like any couple they’d row if they disagreed about how they were being brought up.

“But the difference between Grace and other women in Michael’s life was that she had absolutely no interest in fame. It was something she actively avoided and Michael was determined to keep her and their relationship out of the public gaze.

“The romance was well-known among staff but it was made very clear to them that this was not something that should become part of the public domain.”

Grace was introduced to Jacko by his former spokesman Dr Tohme R Tohme in 1991. She started out as a secretary before working her way up to become the most important woman in the superstar’s life.

In 1999 she was picked to care for Jackson’s oldest kids following his divorce from second wife Debbie Rowe. She became the dominant figure in their lives with one insider noting: “Everything is done Grace’s way.”

Six years later, Jackson asked her to take the children to meet the oldest kids’ surrogate mother Debbie Rowe. Debbie was said to be stunned when she heard the kids call Grace “Mom”. The bond between them was so strong that it was Grace the kids reportedly cried for after hearing of their father’s death 10 days ago.

This week Grace was back in Beverly Hills after Jackson’s family asked her to help comfort the kids. She is expected to be among the chief mourners at the private family funeral on Tuesday.

Barkley, a key member of Jacko’s inner circle between 2002 and 2005, believes the children should live with Grace rather than Jackson’s mum, who has temporary custody.

But Debbie Rowe is preparing to launch her own multi-million-dollar custody bid.

Ian added: “Though I love Michael’s mum Katherine, she is 79 and if she passes on, the best place for the kids to go would be to Grace. She really raised them. She was with them day in and day out. She really loved them and they they adored her as they would a mother.”

Stunning Grace, who also had a short-lived romance with Jackson’s older brother Jermaine in the early Nineties, said last week she quit the US in December after being sacked by Jacko. The drug-addled star was said to have become jealous of her closeness to the children.

Grace had been sacked on several other occasions only to be re-employed. Once she was dismissed for calling Jackson’s mother and sister to ask them to intervene over his drug problems.

She has said that in recent months he had become dirty and unkempt, and had so little ready money he could not even afford balloons to mark Paris’s birthday – adding that Katherine phoned her the day after his death to ask where money was hidden in his house.

Grace revealed Michael hid cash in black bags under carpets at his Los Angeles mansion. The former nanny this year set up home in London, where the Thriller singer was due to stage his 50-date comeback shows this month.

Jackson was drawn to Grace because of their shared interest in helping children in poverty. She backed his idea to adopt five kids from developing countries and two years ago the couple were said to be planning a major humanitarian campaign to help destitute children.

Grace was also credited for convincing the star that he could make a full-scale comeback and reclaim his King of Pop crown.

The loyal nanny, who describes Jacko’s kids as as “my babies”, told a TV interviewer last week: “I took them in my arms on the first day of each of their lives.”

She is said to have wielded so much power in the Jackson household that she controlled all access to the singer – even deciding which family members could speak to him.

Three years ago she reportedly barred Michael’s dad Joe from the family mansion.

A year later it was rumoured the couple had secretly married but this was denied by Grace, who is still legally married to first husband Stacey Adair.

Jackson’s ‘secret girlfriend was his kids’ former nanny’

London, July 5 (ANI): Michael Jackson’s long-standing secret girlfriend was Grace Rwaramba, the former nanny of his children, according to the late singer’s personal photographer.

Ian Barkley, who trotted the globe with the star for three years as his snapper, made the astonishing revelation.

Ian said that the duo’s relationship was known to the staff while Grace looked after the King of Pop’s three children Prince Michael, 12, Paris Katherine, 11 and six-year-old Prince Michael II.

“Grace loved Michael and he loved her. The kids called her ‘Mom’,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

Jackson’s bodyguard Matt Fiddes recently revealed that the icon had a secret girlfriend though he declined to identify her.

Another of the artist’s bodyguards said: “Matt was referring to Grace. They were more like a married couple than employer and employee.”

The minder added: “Grace was the closest person to Michael and the kids. She will be broken-hearted. The children were always their joint priority and like any couple they’d row if they disagreed about how they were being brought up.

Jacko hired ‘day team and night team’ of nannies for Prince Michael

New Delhi, July 4 (ANI): Late King of Pop Michael Jackson, who died of a suspected cardiac arrest last week, had reportedly employed a “day team and night team” of nannies to look after his eldest son Prince Michael.

The ‘Thriller’ sensation was said to be desperate to ensure that Prince Michael was properly cared for after his birth in 1997, and thus hired 12 people so that someone would always be with his son, reports the China Daily.

“The baby was cared for by a team of six nannies and six nurses, who worked in shifts so that there were always two nurses and two nannies by his side,” a source who worked at Michael’s Neverland Ranch said.

“They were kept under constant video surveillance, which was monitored by members of Jackson’s security team. The nannies all had special training.

“The day-team did exercise drills with the baby to build up his strength. The night-team read and sang to him,” the source added.

Concerned about his child’s well-being, adds the newspaper report, Jackson even ordered the nannies to throw away the boy’s toys each evening to guard against germs.

A nanny revealed: “We had to measure the air quality in his room once an hour. When we fed him, all the utensils had to be boiled and were all thrown away after a single use.”

Michael Jackson had “a secret girlfriend” for several years. This information is now revealed by Michael’s former body guard Matt Fiddes told news media.

But now these rumours of Michael Jackson being a gay are baseless after former body guard Matt Fiddle said Michael Jackson had “someone special” in his life but Jackson had managed to keep his love relationship a mystery from the world.

Jacko wanted to play only 10 gigs in UK, says former nanny

Washington, June 29 (ANI): Late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s former nanny has confirmed that he wanted to stage only 10 shows in London, but he failed to read the contract properly.

The ‘Thriller’ hitmaker passed away at a rented Los Angeles home just two weeks before he was due to start his 50 02 Arena shows in London.

However, Grace Rwaramba, who worked for the star for 17 years, says that Jackson only wanted to play 10 concerts in London, but he signed up for 50 because he didn’t check the paperwork thoroughly.

“Fifty performances! I told him, ‘What are you doing?’ He said, ‘I signed only for 10.’ He didn’t know what he was signing. He never does!” Contactmusic quoted her as saying. (ANI)

UK’s oldest mum returns to work just four weeks after giving birth!

London, June 28 (ANI): The oldest mother in Britain returned to her office just four weeks after delivering her baby at 66.

Elizabeth Adeney, from Lidgate, Suffolk, conceived little Jolyon through IVF and gave birth by caesarean section at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge on May 26.

The managing director of plastic and textile company Delmore went back to work leaving the baby, weighing 5lb 3oz at the time of birth, with a nanny, reports The Daily Express.

Elizabeth’s gets a friend to drive her the 45-minute trip to her office and back home.

She first underwent fertility treatment two decades ago during her short-lived marriage to Robert Adeney.

She reached her goal for IVF treatment in the Ukraine since UK rules do not allow clinics to treat women over the age of 50. (ANI)

Jacko’s family started hunting for cash hours after his death, reveals nanny

London, June 28 (ANI): Late King of Pop Michael Jackson’s nanny, Grace Rwaramba, has revealed that she was shocked to see how the ‘Thriller’ star’s family started hunting for cash hours after his death.

The 42-year-old woman, considered to be closest to Jackson and his three children, was in London when she heard the news that the singer had died at a rented Los Angeles home on Thursday.

She says that while preparing to board a plane to fly home and comfort the orphaned kids, she got received a shocking call from one of the Jackson family.

“The relative said, ‘Grace, you remember Michael used to hide cash at the house? I’m here. Where can it be?’” the News of the World quoted her as saying.

“I told them to look in the garbage bags and under the carpets. But can you believe that? They just lost Michael a few hours ago and already one of them is calling me to know where the money is!

“They also told me the children were crying and asking about me. They can’t believe their father died,” she added.

Uganda-born Grace-who has spent five years working as Jackson’s secretary, and 12 as nanny-also spelled out her fears over the orphaned kids Prince, 12, Paris, 11 and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, known to the family as Blanket.

She admitted: “I’m really distraught for them. Michael hadn’t been eating and the kids have been so scared for him. Now the youngest has been saying, ‘Why Daddy? God should have taken me not him.’”

Grace revealed that she fled America to join TV interviewer Barak at her Swiss holiday home after being abruptly sacked by ailing Jackson just two months ago.

She presently finds herself at the centre of the billion-pound custody battle for the children, currently being looked after by Jacko’s mum Katherine, 79. (ANI)

Jacko’s stomach had to be pumped regularly to remove drug cocktails: Ex-nanny

New York, June 28 (ANI): The former nanny of Michael Jackson’s children has said the singer’s stomach had to be pumped on a regular basis to remove dangerous cocktails of drugs.

Grace Rwaramba, who worked for Jackson for more than a decade before being dismissed last December, claimed the King Of Pop often mixed too many drugs at the same time.

The Thriller hitmaker is thought to have been taking up to eight different drugs a day, including three narcotic painkillers, in the days leading up to his death.

“I had to pump his stomach many times. He always mixed so much of it,” the New York Daily News quoted Rwaramba as telling British newspaper The Times.

“There was one period that it was so bad that I didn’t let the children see him . . . He always ate too little and mixed too much,” she added.

The 42-year-old, from Rwanda, began working as an office assistant before becoming nanny to Jackson’s kids, Michael Jr, known as Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II, 7.

Jackson’s increased drug dependency was said to have begun taking its toll on his mental and physical health days before he died on Thursday.

The 50-year-old was claimed to have suffered further exhaustion stemming from rehearsals for his 50 comeback concerts, which were due to begin in London at O2 arena on July 13.

Medical examiners in Los Angeles are yet to determine the cause of his sudden death, but coroners confirmed Jackson was on prescription medication. (ANI)

Jacko’s ex-wife wants full custody of kids

London, June 27 (ANI): Late Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe is seeking full custody of the couple’s children.

The King of Pop passed away at the age of 50 on Thursday (June 25) after a cardiac arrest apparently caused by an overdose of painkillers.

Soon after his death Jackson’s elderly mum Katherine and Debbie were set to launch into a bitter fight for custody of his children.

While Katherine was looking after Prince Michael Jnr, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II in Los Angeles, Debbie had apparently signed away her parental rights in return for a house and a multi-million dollar lump sum.

Jackson family lawyer Brian Oxman said Katherine would probably care for them long-term.

“She loves them dearly,” British tabloid the Sun quoted him as saying.

However, Debbie-who is the mother of Prince Jnr and Paris-had told a friend that she wanted full custody of the youngsters, just two days before Jacko’s death.

The friend revealed: “Debbie threw a fit, saying she was sick of the way Michael was bringing the children up. She said she was going to go for full custody of them. She said she was quite prepared to go all the way and fight him in court for it.”

In fact, the kids’ nanny Grace Rwaramba could also end up caring for them.

Sources close to the Jackson family said Katherine will “fight tooth and nail” to stop Debbie getting the youngsters.

Debbie’s friend said: “She understands there will be a vicious legal battle and she knows Michael’s mother will not readily hand the kids over to her. But she is their natural mother and will do whatever it takes to get them back.”

Last December, Debbie, 50, went to lawyers after Jacko’s biographer claimed that the star was suffering from a chronic lung condition and had just months to live.

She asked for more access to her children, saying: “I’m their mother and they need me.”

And now that the ‘Thriller’ hit-maker is dead, the friend said that Debbie wants her kids back for good.

The pal added: “At Christmas she just wanted to re-establish contact with them. But now she wants full custody. Michael’s mother is almost 80, Debbie doesn’t want them to lose their father and then their grandmother.”

Prince Michael Jnr and Paris were born during Debbie’s three-year marriage to Jacko in the 1990s.

Prince Michael II – nicknamed “Blanket” – was born later to a surrogate mother. (ANI)
