Octomom calls having eight babies a ‘mistake’

London, August 30 (ANI): Nadya Suleman, the mother of the world’s longest-surviving octuplets, has called giving birth to eight babies a “mistake”.

The single, unemployed mother, who added to her previous lot of six kids after undergoing in-vitro fertilization, confessed becoming a history-making mum earlier this year was a blunder.

“I think having eight was a mistake in terms of the well-being of all the kids,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

The 33-year-old also alleged that she was living like a recluse in her suburban Los Angeles family home and that she and her family were being treated like “freaks”.

She said: “Every time we go out we are mobbed by gawpers and bullies. We get crazy reactions, from mild ones like neighbours snickering to dangerous ones.

“I’ve had very nasty threats and my car has been vandalised.” (ANI)

Jacko ‘tried to adopt Octomum’s eight babies just weeks before he died’

London, July 3 (ANI): Just weeks before his death, Michael Jackson tried to adopt Octomum Nadya Suleman’s eight babies, it has emerged.

The King of Pop, who already had children Prince, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, known as Blanket, approached penniless Suleman offering to look after the babies in return for cash.

The 50-year-old singer, who was desperate for a larger family, was concerned at reports Suleman was considering giving the children up for adoption.

He ordered aides to contact Suleman’s publicist Victor Munoz.

Jacko’s people called Munoz three times and quizzed him about his client and told him that Jackson wanted to adopt the babies.

Then Jackson called Munoz personally.

He said: “Blanket would love to have more siblings. I could take care of all the babies, they could live with me and wouldn’t need for anything. They would have a bright future.

“I want to take care of Nadya. She will be happy and won’t have to worry about caring for her children any more.”

The singer clearly believed his star power could convince the Suleman to handover the kids.

“When Michael called I thought it was a joke at first. I was getting hundreds of calls every day and many from celebrities’ agents saying their client wanted to help,” the Mirror quoted Munoz as saying.

“But when the person on the end of the line said ‘Hi it’s Michael Jackson’ I was a bit taken aback. Michael wanted to know how the babies were, how Nadya was coping.

“He then said he could take care of the children if Nadya couldn’t. It was creepy. He was basically offering to buy the children. I was a bit shocked,” he added. (ANI)

No more babies for Octomom

New York, May 8 (ANI): Nadya Suleman’s child-birthing days are done because she’s having half her uterus removed this weekend.

After making history following birth of 14 kids, the 33-year-old told RadarOnline.com that she will be having the operation after docs found benign fibroids growing in her uterus.

The procedure makes it near impossible to ever get pregnant again.

“They’re worried there could be, like, pre-cancerous cells. So I have to remove half of the uterus,” she revealed.

“I’m terrified. I’m really, really, really nervous. And I have to do a will. I have to get a will done just in case,” she added.

Suleman, however, refused to let the name out of the couple she has chosen to take her 14 kids if anything goes wrong, reports The New York Daily News.

“A Christian couple. They’re really, really trustworthy. They’re amazing people,” she said.

The single, unemployed mother has been under a media microscope since giving birth to octuplets on January 26. She already had six other children, ages 2 to 7. (ANI)

Octomom faces lawsuit for exploiting her kids

New York, May 5 (ANI): Nadya Suleman, the mother of octuplets, has been slapped with a lawsuit for exploiting her eight babies.

Celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred filed a petition in Orange County, California, alleging the history-making mum was taking advantage of the newborns and raking in money without proper consideration of their interests.

Allred argued the babies should have a court-appointed guardian and a separate theatrical agent to ensure they receive their share of any money earned by their fame.

“Rather than choosing to provide her children with a normal life,” The New York Daily News quoted Allred as saying.

“Nadya Suleman, has chosen instead to commercially exploit them, and it appears she plans to continue commercial exploitation of them in the future as well.

“Since she has chosen this path, we believe that the babies are entitled to remuneration,” Allred added.

Allred, who sued the 33-year-old on behalf of former child actor and child labor advocate Paul Petersen, further said that media filming the infants with paid contracts could violate child labor laws.

Peter Scheer, a lawyer and executive director of the California First Amendment Coalition, nodded to the possibility.

Scheer explained: “If a media organization has bought and paid for special access to these children in a way that legitimately can be construed as compensation to them for their services, then it may be that labor laws come into play.”

It was previously revealed that Nadya, the single, unemployed mum-of-14, was living at home with her parents and used in-vitro fertilization to conceive the octuplets and her previous six kids, ages 2 to 7.

The case will be heard on June 22. (ANI)

Octomom dismisses child neglect allegations

New York, May 1 (ANI): Mother of octuplets, Nadya Suleman, has snubbed allegations of child neglect amid reports that police and child welfare officials recently visited her house.

Cops had paid a visit to the octomom following a request from child welfare officials, who were informed by a teacher that her 4-year-old autistic son Aidan had arrived at school with a black eye and a bite mark on his back.

The teacher had turned to authorities after Nadya, who became a history making mum in January after giving birth to eight babies, adding to her previous brood of 6, failed to reply to a note inquiring about the injuries.

The single, unemployed mum-of-14 said it was Aidan’s younger brother, who was to blame for the mark.

“He has a bite mark on his back, from this guy,” the New York Daily News quoted Nadya, pointing to one of her 2-year-old twins, as telling RadarOnline.

And she held Aidan’s “meltdowns” responsible for his black eye after he hit his face on a desk, saying: “He has meltdowns. It’s normal to have meltdowns. He throws himself down.”

Speaking about the welfare officials, she continued: “They just wanted to check the kids. Oh, they said that they’re shocked at how everything is so organized. And that we’re doing a good job.”

La Habra police spokeswoman Cindy Knapp confirmed that the visit was made to Nadya’s house.

Her lawyer Jeff Czech said: “When people go into that house, they’re expecting kids swinging from the rafters. But it’s an organized house. Those eight babies, for starters, are very good babies.

“There are one or two nannies taking care of the big kids. And the babies have a couple nannies, too. Some people are mandated to report, and Nadya understands that. She’s not worried about it.” (ANI)

Octomom may sue club owner over stripper lies

Washington, April 29 (ANI): Nadya Suleman, the mother of octuplets, is drawing plans to file a lawsuit against a club owner who claims she had worked as a stripper.

A report in the In Touch had stated that the history-making 33-year-old, who added eight babies to her previous lot of six kids earlier this year, used to moonlight as an erotic dancer under the name ‘Angelina’.

Denying the allegations, the single, unemployed mum-of-14 said she is “in the process” of taking legal action against Gunner Reid, the owner of what is now the Spearmint Rhino club.

“Who are these humans?” Us magazine quoted her as telling RadarOnline.com while going through the tabloid, which allegedly faked papers with her signature in an attempt to back its story.

“There is not one ounce of truth to this. I never, ever, ever, ever, EVER worked — even for one day — in a strip club!” she added. (ANI)

Octomum used pseudonym ‘Angelina’ during stripping days

Melbourne, Apr 23 (ANI): Nadya Suleman a.k.a Octomum might have denied that she’s obsessed with Angelina Jolie but she did use the alias ‘Angelina’ while working as a stripper.

According to Perez Hilton, Suleman, who became a history-making mum after giving birth to octuplets on January 26, was a stripper for at least a year, and she went by the pseudonym Angelina.

In an interview to National Enquirer, Suleman had admitted that he was a topless dancer, but only once.

“It’s true that I was a topless dancer, but that’s all. I went to a gentleman’s club and performed as a topless dancer. But I only did it one night,” she said.

However, one of the octomum’s colleagues Sage confirmed to In Touch Weekly that she worked with Nadya at stripping contests and bachelor parties in 1999 and 2000.

“I met her at an amateur contest, and we wound up doing parties together,” the Daily Telegraph quoted her as saying.

The driver, who escorted the duo to events, Luis Ceballos also said Nadya “was full of herself. Always said she wanted to be really famous.”

He added she was “overly flirty with the guys we performed for.” (ANI)

Octuplets’ mom wants to trademark ‘Octomom’ nickname

Washington, April 16 (ANI): Nadya Suleman, who became a history-making mum after giving birth to octuplets on January 26, is seeking to trademark the word “Octomom”.

The 33-year-old, who conceived her 14 kids through in vitro fertilization, has filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to obtain legal rights to the name.

But a Houston-based novelty company was said to have already made a similar request.

“It’s not going to matter because they had no permission from Nadya, who has the rightful claim to the name ‘Octomom’, ” People quoted Suleman’s attorney Jeff Czech as saying.

The single, unemployed mum-of-14 had previously been out of favour for the word, but made the decision to apply for its legitimate claim after realising the capitalist opportunities associated with it.

Czech added: “She’s never warmed to it, but the idea would be for others to use it for licensing. It’s just a smart thing to do.” (ANI)

US octo-mother has TV reality show deal on horizon

Lost Angeles – Nadya Suleman, the US single mother of 14 children including recently-born octuplets, has four production companies bidding to create a TV reality show out of her day-to-day chaos, “Us” magazine reported Saturday. Jeff Czech, Suleman’s lawyer, told Us that Nadya was “interested in, and hoping to find, something not so intrusive to the family and babies while, at the same time, (something to) sort of focus on trying to make a little income for herself.”

She has been criticized for accepting public assistance, which is “heavy on her mind,” Czech said.

Suleman picked up the seventh of the babies from hospital earlier this month. The octuplets were born in January.

Suleman receives free government-funded medical care because she has no health insurance, and welfare to help feed the children. But her choice to pursue large multiple births as a single mother with no income has drawn public ire over her expectation that she will receive financial support from government and private sources.

She solicits donations through her website.

Suleman, 33, had come in for widespread criticism for conceiving the octuplets through in vitro fertilization, even though she already had six kids under the age of eight, was living at her mother’s house and had no visible means of support.

However she bought a new house earlier this month using money she received from donations as a downpayment, while a charity arranged for the babies’ care. But with the cost of care estimated at 45,000 dollars a month, it’s unclear how long the charity will be able to pick up the tab. (dpa)

Octomum ‘using denial’ to deal with life

Washington, March 21 (ANI): Nadya Suleman, who became a history-making mum after giving birth to octuplets on January 26, has confessed that she uses denial as her defence to deal with life.

The 33-year-old, who conceived all her kids through in vitro fertilization, faced much heat after delivering eight babies, adding to her previous lot of six.

The single, unemployed mum said denial was her way of bracing the reality.

“I’m using denial…it’s a defense mechanism,” Us Weekly quoted her as saying in her daily video blog on RadarOnline.com.

“I keep telling my head and rationalizing over and over that next week that [interest in my life] is going to die down,” she added.

But Nadya, who has agreed to use the services of a non-profit agency to raise her brood of 14 after moving into a new house, was committed to her family.

She added: “It’s going to take a long time to prove not only to myself but to the world I can be a very good mother and I can take care of these children.

“I’m obsessed with their health, safety and well-being.” (ANI)

Octomum accepts round-the-clock help from nonprofit agency to raise her kids

New York, March 10 (ANI): Nadya Suleman, who became a history-making mum after giving birth to octuplets on January 26, has agreed to use the services of a non-profit agency to raise her 14 kids.

The 33-year-old, who conceived all her kids through in vitro fertilization, will have Angels in Waiting assisting her round-the-clock with free neonatal intensive care.

The single, unemployed mum was said to have previously declined the group’s original offer of reported 135,000 dollars a month after refusing to give her consent for a reality show.

However, attorney Gloria Allred and TV’s Dr. Phil McGraw were alleged to have convinced her to reverse her decision and take the revised deal, which now included buying a new house, according to TMZ.com.

“Now that Ms. Suleman has found a suitable new home, Angels in Waiting has also agreed to help Nadya prepare the house properly to meet the children’s needs,” The New York Daily News quoted Allred as saying in a statement.

Dr. McGraw added: “Nadya realized that she had to make every effort to care for the octuplets as well as the six children at home in a way that proved that she understood the enormity and complexity of the task ahead.

“The childcare will be completely transparent, so that Kaiser Permanente and Child Protective Services will see that Nadya is seriously committed to her family.” (ANI)

Cher angry with Octomom Nadya Suleman

Washington, Mar 6 (ANI): American pop singer Cher is apparently angry with the attention grabbing mum-of-14, Nadya Suleman, because she thinks that no single mother should be allowed to bring up so many kids alone.

Suleman, who has no means of income, stunned the world when she gave birth to octuplets in January this year, adding to her other six kids, who are all under the age of eight.

Cher is among those calling for social services to intervene, so that the babies don’t have to face a childhood struggle on welfare.

“She shouldn’t have any of those children as far as I’m concerned. You cannot be a single mom living with your parents on welfare and have all those children,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

The singer has also told America’s the Globe that she fears new mum Suleman has lost her mind.

“She acts like someone who is not of this world,” she added. (ANI)

Speaking in an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America, the man, whose identity is being kept under wraps, claimed that Suleman brought him to donate sperm at the clinic where she received in vitro fertilization.owever, Suleman denied that the man was the father of her children.

Her representative, Victor Munoz, has denied the man’s claims by saying that he’s not the sperm donor who fathered the babies.

“The real sperm donor knows who he is. This guy is definitely not the one. It’s kind of comical. Nadya’s not sure why he’s doing this,” People magazine quoted Munoz as saying.

However, the alleged donor said that he was “shocked [and] surprised” when he came to know that Suleman had delivered octuplets on Jan. 23.

He has claimed that he dated Suleman from 1997 to 1999, and is even pushing for a paternity test.

And now, he is even willing to help Suleman raise the children because he thinks that she can’t do it on her own.

“Either which way, you know, know that if she needs it I’ll lend a helping hand,” he said. (ANI)

Octomom eyeing million-dollar home?

It has four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and a pool, reports Fox News.

The current house owned by Suleman’s mother Angela is said to be standing on a 10-month-outstanding mortgage.

The default notice from Los Angeles County showed that Angela is 23,225 dollars behind in her mortgage payments and the three-bedroom house could be sold at auction beginning May 5.

Nadya made headlines, and has been a subject of public ridicule since giving birth to octuplets on Jan. 26, conceived through in vitro fertilization. (ANI)

Octuplets’ granny makes peace with daughter

Washington, February 17 (ANI): The octuplets’ grandmother has put aside differences with her daughter, who made history after giving birth to six boys and two girls, adding to her previous brood of 6.

Angela Suleman revealed that she was compelled to break the ice with her daughter, Nadya, who conceived all 14 of her babies through in vitro fertilization, after laying her eyes on the eight newborns.

“I was actually very upset that my daughter had gone and done this in-vitro,” CBS quoted Angela as telling Early Show.

“But, after I saw them, you know, I thought, ‘My goodness, these are my grandchildren. They’re so tiny and fragile. I’ll have to be there for them, you know, like I was for the others,”‘ she added.

She further said that her anger was fast disappearing, adding: “I did (resent Nadya), but you know, you can resent your daughter for just so long, and then you see that she’s trying so hard to take care of these children, and she’s a good mother.

” …She’s a very good mother but then she had a good example!

“There must be a reason, you know, why this happened, and that they’re all healthy. That is a miracle, a total miracle.”

Nadya had given birth to the octuplets in late January in a span of five minutes at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

It is believed to be only the second time in history that live octuplets have survived for more than a couple of hours. (ANI)
