Lady Gaga shows photogs the middle finger

New York, June 11 (ANI): ‘Poker Face’ singer Lady Gaga was so fed up with the photographers hounding her during a New York Mets game at Citi Field that she showed them the middle finger.

Lady Gaga, 24, was watching the game on June 10 from a luxury suite when she decided that she had had enough of the snappers jockeying to take her picture, reports the New York Daily News.

She was seen wearing what looks like the same bra featured in her “Telephone” video.

This is the second time this week that Gaga has flashed New Yorkers her middle finger. She was caught in the same pose at a hot dog stand on June 8. (ANI)

Cricket is a man’s game: Pietersen

Chittagong, Mar 19(ANI): England batsman Kevin Pietersen has defended his team-mates’ aggressive approach in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chittagong, by claiming that cricket is a man’s game.

“It”s a man”s game this, it”s not a game for girls – especially when you”re playing Test match cricket. You go to the Ashes, I was christened in international cricket and believe me I got a lot worse in my first Ashes series against those Australians than anything we”ve chucked at the Bangladeshis out here,” The Telegraph quoted Pietersen, as saying.

“So I”d say it”s an absolute load of nonsense they way the boys have been made out to be because I think they”ve been brilliant. We haven”t crossed the line and I think the boys have been fantastic in everything they”ve done,” he added.

Pietersen’s comment comes after off-spinner Graeme Swann and fast bowler Stuart Broad apologised for incidents, which were believed to have overstepped the fair play line, during the series opener.

Swann was in the middle of a controversy after his gratuitous outburst against Junaid Siddique.

The Bangladeshi batsman completed his maiden Test hundred before Swann struck to swing the match in England”s favour, but on dismissing Siddique, the off-spinner raised his middle finger and roared “f*** off”, he later apologised for his behaviour.

Meanwhile, Broad attracted censure for racing the full length of the pitch in a successful search of an lbw decision against Abdur Razzak. (ANI)

Finger bone of Buddha enshrined in world’s highest pagoda in China

New Delhi May 11 (ANI): A finger bone believed to belong to the Buddha was enshrined on May 9th in a 148-meter-high stupa, the world’s highest, in an ancient temple in northwest China’s Shaanxi province.

The grand ceremony was held in the Famen Temple, Fufeng county, where a sarira, thought to be the middle finger of the left hand of Sakyamuni, was found in 1987 in a 1,000-year-old underground hall along with 2,000 ancient relics.

The finger bone sarira, concealed in a golden pagoda-shaped container, was carried by senior monks past 20,000 people gathered to see the ceremony.

The sarira was put into an underground sanctum in the stupa.

It would be presented to the public on significant dates or events, according to Zeng Qin, vice chairman of the Provincial Buddhist Association.

“The enshrinement of Buddha’s finger bone proceeded according to Buddhist rituals,” said Xue Cheng, vice chairman of the China Buddhist Association.

According to historical records, the sarira had been kept in the underground sanctum in Famen Temple since 874 in the Tang Dynasty, before it was taken out in 1987.

Since then, the temple, 118 kilometers from the provincial capital of Xi’an, has become a holy place for Buddhists from around the world.

The temple has received about 10 million visitors over the past 20 years, according to the provincial tourism bureau.

“It took workers four years to build the 148-meter-high pagoda at a cost of more than 2 billion yuan (293 million US dollars), most of which was donated by enterprises and organizations,” said Zeng.

The stupa is shaped to resemble the common Buddhist gesture of putting the palms together with fingers pointing upwards.

In the middle of the “palms” is the pagoda that houses the sarira.

Sarira, remains from the cremation of a Buddha or a saintly monk, are regarded as a treasured Buddhist relics. (ANI)

Shia LaBeouf’s injured hand may never heal completely

Washington, Apr 15 (ANI): Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf, who got his left hand injured in a car accident last year, has revealed that his hand may never heal completely because he will only regain 80 percent functioning of the hand.

“I’ve had screws and plates put in,” Us Weekly quoted him as telling Entertainment Weekly.

“They put a screw in one of my knuckles. And they shaved a piece of bone off my hip and made a [bone for my] finger out of it,” he added.

LaBeouf, whose driving license suspended for a year after the horrific collision, revealed that he was on his third surgery.

“That’s coming up in a week or two [from April 2]. My middle finger is still crooked as a f—ing noodle, so they’ve gotta straighten it out and put a screw in it,” he said.

“I’ll be able to make a fist again. There’s a knuckle I’ll never be able to move again, but that’s probably the only permanent damage, other than the scarring,” he added. (ANI)

‘Irritated’ Kate Moss ‘attacks’ photog with goblet in Hong Kong

New Delhi, Jan 10 (ANI): Supermodel Kate Moss resorted to violent means when a hovering snapper refused to leave her alone during a shopping trip in Hong Kong.

The Sun has learnt that Moss along with boyfriend Jamie Hince was seen in a luxury store in Hong Kong’s Central.

The star pair was in Hong Kong on a stopover after a vacation in Thailand, reports the China Daily.

The catwalk queen reportedly drank several cups of champagne which was provided by the store while picking out outfits.

When she saw the photographer, Moss asked security guards to take him away.

Later the paparazzi followed the two into an open-air bar, Hince yelling at him to leave them alone.

As they left the bar, Moss, holding her champagne goblet, walked up to the persistent photographer and threw her glass, aiming for his head, according to reports.

If that wasn’t enough, while in the car Moss allegedly smoked a cigarette, rolled down the window and cursed the photographer again, while Hince gave his middle finger up.

The report concluded that “Kate Moss apparently gained weight and had a baby belly.” (ANI)
