Michelle Pfeiffer yearns for older men – onscreen

London, Sept 4 (ANI): Hollywood star Michelle Pfeiffer prefers being paired with older men onscreen, but says film directors always cast her opposite younger actors.

Pfeiffer, 51, who recently acted opposite the 27-year-old Rupert Friend in Chiri, was quoted by the Telegraph as saying: “The older I get, the younger the leading man gets.”

Recently, Pfeiffer had admitted that she feels less pressure to dress youthfully.I can’t wear a skirt that’s too short any more. It’s not that my legs are bad, it just looks silly. I feel less pressure to dress youthfully,” the star had said.

Pfeiffer made her screen dibut in 1980, but mainstream attention came to her with her appearance in Scarface (1983). (ANI)

Michelle Pfeiffer eyes Catwoman role

Washington, June 25 (ANI): Michelle Pfeiffer has expressed her desire to reprise her role as Catwoman in the next Batman movie.

“It would be really fun. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think they like to get a new face for the different characters, and I understand it,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Moviefone.

“But yeah, that was really fun. I had a good time,” she added.

The actress played the feline superhero opposite Christian Bale in 1992 movie Batman Returns directed by Christopher Nolan.

However, the mantle was taken over by Halle Berry in the film Catwoman in 2004. (ANI)

Rachel Hunter’s toyboy lover ‘dumps her two months before wedding’

London, Jun 24 (ANI): Brit singer Rod Stewart’s ex-wife Rachel Hunter has been dumped by her toyboy fianci Jarret Stoll – less than two months before they were due to get married, it has emerged.

Stoll, 26, an ice hockey star, had walked out on the 39-year-old New Zealand model without giving her a reason, and had emailed guests that the ceremony, which was to be held on August 14, has been cancelled.

“She is absolutely devastated. Everything was in place for their wedding – she had the venue, the designer dress, the guest list,” the Sun quoted a source close to Hunter as saying.

“She has absolutely no idea why Jarret has done this. It sounds like it could be a classic case of cold feet. He is a fair bit younger than her,” the source said.

Her daughter Renee, 17, and son Liam, 14, are said to be “in pieces” at the break-up – especially Liam who is a keen ice hockey player.

Stoll had proposed last August, and he and Hunter had bought a 2.2million pounds home in Hermosa Beach, California, and were due to tie the knot in front of guests including Michelle Pfeiffer and Sharon Stone. (ANI)

Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathy Bates want US Govt. to legalise prostitution

Washington, June 24 (ANI): Michelle Pfeiffer and Kathy Bates want the U.S. Government to legalise prostitution.

The two stars, who play historical hookers in Stephen Frears’ new period movie Cheri, are wondering why the ‘world’s oldest profession’ has been banned throughout most of their native America.

“There is an argument to be made for providing some protection for prostitutes. It would solve a lot of problems for them. They’re going to do it anyway,” Contactmusic quoted Pfeiffer as saying.

Her co-star Bates agrees: “For health reasons, it would be better for people to enjoy those pleasures.” (ANI)

Keira Knightley’s beau ‘beds’ Michelle Pfeiffer

London, Feb 26 (ANI): Keira Knightley’s beau Rupert Friend has stripped off for steamy scenes with Michelle Pfeiffer in romantic drama ‘Cheri’.

The film has been directed by Stephen Frears. It is an adaptation of the novel by French author Colette. The film premiered at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival, reports the Sun.

Set in 1920s Paris, ‘Cheri’ tells the story of the end of a six-year affair between an aging retired courtesan, Lea, and a pampered young man, Cheri.

Turning stereotypes upside-down, it is Cheri who wears silk pajamas and Lea’s pearls, and who is the object of gaze. (ANI)

Michelle Pfeiffer feels more ‘liberated’ at 50

Washington, Feb 11 (ANI): American actress Michelle Pfeiffer has revealed that she finds reaching 50 to be a very liberating experience.

Pfeiffer had turned 50 in 2008 and she admits that she did not have any fear of getting older. If you think hitting 40 is liberating, wait till you hit 50 – and I was surprised at how liberating it was,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“The anticipation of something is always much worse than the reality,” she stated.

The other thing she likes about growing old, are the roles she gets to play.

“The older you get, the roles actually become more interesting,” she said.

“(And) it seems that my leading men just keep getting younger the older I get. It seems that people have an aversion to casting people of the same age – luckily for me,” she added. (ANI)

Audrey Hepburn named Ultimate Screen Beauty

London, Feb 11 (ANI): Audrey Hepburn has pipped Angelina Jolie to land the honour of the ultimate screen beauty in a new survey.

The star of Breakfast At Tiffany’s topped the survey of Hollywood actresses through the ages, while Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley and Halle Berry followed her in the second, third and fourth positions.

The poll of nearly 2,000 film fans put Hepburn in first place, citing her perfect bone structure and almond eyes. Jolie was second, although she was a favourite with younger voters, and Kelly was third, reports the Telegraph.

The survey was commissioned by Sky+ HD.

Nicola Moulton, beauty and health director of Vogue, said: “A great cinematic beauty by definition has to look amazing in motion, not just in pictures.

“Audrey Hepburn is clearly a timeless beauty explaining why she is the nation’s choice, though a personal favourite of mine has always been Vivien Leigh – she was not only breathtakingly beautiful but had an astonishingly expressive face.

“Unlike many actresses her expressions never run counter to her beauty, which seems an essential point of her being rather than just a quirk of genetics.”
