Silvio Berlusconi ‘agrees to divorce’ second wife

London, May 10 (ANI): Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, has reportedly agreed on a divorce settlement with his second wife/actress Veronica Lario.

According to reports, Lairo will receive “considerably less” than the 3.5 million Euros a month, she had demanded as maintenance.

Instead, Berlusconi, 73, has offered her up to 300,000 euros a month.

Also, she is likely to retain Villa Belvedere, her mansion at Macherio near Milan.

Legal sources revealed that the estranged couple, had “coldly shaken hands” after nearly five hours of talks at the Milan courthouse.

Nonetheless, they added that the outcome had been “satisfactory”.

Lario blamed the leader, who has been linked to different women in the past, for the split, reports the Times.

Meanwhile, Berlusconi’s aides suggested Lairo had an affair with a bodyguard.

Lario’s staff, however, denied the allegation.

The two have been married for twenty years and have three children together. (ANI)

Tiger Woods had ‘121 affairs’ during five years of marriage

London, April 29 (ANI): Tiger Woods had a total of 121 affairs during five years of marriage with Elin Nordegren, it has emerged.

The golfer apparently confessed it to his wife during his stay in the sex rehab.

Woods shared his guilt on a “disclosure day”, as part of the rehab programme.

“When Tiger was in rehab for sex addiction, he filled out four pages, listing the amount of women he’d had affairs with – there were 121 in all,” the Mirror quoted legal sources, as telling the US paper National Enquirer.

During the disclosure, Woods had failed to name his alleged youngest mistress, 22-year-old Racychel Coudriet, who is also his neighbours’ daughter.

The source added: “Raychel Coudriet was not on the list. After Elin found out about her she told Tiger their marriage is definitely over. There is no room for reconciliation any more.”

Meanwhile, Woods’ legal team is desperately trying to secure an out of court settlement. (ANI)

Supreme Court provides relief to Lalu Prasad in disproportionate assets case

New Delhi, Apr 1 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday said the Government of Bihar has no authority to file an appeal against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad”s 2006 acquittal in a disproportionate assets case.

“The Bihar Government is not a competent authority to file an appeal in the case,” a three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justices R M Lodha and B S Chauhan said.

The apex court also set aside a Patna High Court decision admitting the appeal filed by Bihar Government against the acquittal of Lalu and his wife Rabri Devi in the case.

During a final hearing on March 10, the CBI stood by Lalu in the Supreme Court and opposed the Bihar Government””s decision to challenge his acquittal in a disproportionate assets case, an off-shoot of the 1995-96 fodder scam.

The CBI had booked Lalu and Rabri Devi on charges of amassing property worth Rs 46 lakh above their legal sources of income.

Lalu was sent to the Bihar military police guest house on judicial remand in July 1997 and again in October 1998. He spent a day in the Beur Jail in the disproportionate assets case in November 2000.

Lalu and Rabri Devi, however, were acquitted of all charges by Special CBI Judge Muni Lal Paswan in December 2006.

Mafatlal Luxury – Mafatlal Industries – Sheetal Mafatlal – Sheetal Mafatlal Arrested – Sheetal Mafatlal arrested with Rs One Crore Diamonds – Atulya Mafatlal

Mumbai, Jun 8 Businesswoman Sheetal Mafatlal was today remanded in judicial custody till June 12 after she was arrested for allegedly trying to evade duty by not declaring Rs 51 lakh worth jewellery in what is being claimed as a result of a tip-off by her “disgruntled opponent”.

Sheetal, a prominent socialite and the president of Mafatlal luxury who was arrested at the airport yesterday on her return from London, might have to spend one more day in jail as a local court deferred her bail plea until tomorrow.

Normally, an accused is entitled to bail in judicial custody unless it is opposed by prosecution. However, it is ultimately the court’s discretion to grant bail to an accused, legal sources said.

Attired in a peach salwar suit and wearing sunglasses, Sheetal, who her husband and lawyer said is a Non-Resident Indian, was in the court sitting near the dock. At one stage, she was gestured by a court staff to remove her glasses and she promptly did so.

Sheetal’s husband, Atulya Mafatlal, the scion of Mafatlal Industries, was standing during the entire court proceedings which lasted for two hours.

Sheetal’s arrest followed a tip-off to police and other authorities by some “disgruntled” opponents of the Mafatlal family and industry, Defence lawyer Satish Maneshinde claimed outside a local court where she was to be produced.

Prosecutor Arun Gupte contended that Sheetal was guilty of offences under Customs Act which were non-bailable. He alleged that she had smuggled goods including jewellery worth Rs 53.67 lakh. She had not declared goods and walked through the green channel, he said.
