Sarkozy, Bruni may move into Jagger’s building in Paris

London, May 14 (ANI): Mick Jagger may soon have a new neighbour in his luxurious Paris pad: ex-lover Carla Bruni along with Nicolas Sarkozy.

It has been reported that the French President and wife are poised to buy a 3.5million pound “love nest” in Paris.

Ex-model Carla, 41, has viewed the three-storey Left Bank apartment where fashion guru Yves St Laurent, a pal, lived until his death last year, reports The Telegraph.

Sir Mick has long owned a flat two floors up from the late fashion designer’s vast apartment at 55 Rue de Babylone, the Times reported.

A source revealed that Carla and Sarkozy want a little love nest where they can get away from the hurly-burly of the Elysée Palace, and therefore, they are looking for a cozy house. (ANI)

Yves Saint Laurent’s small brown leather armchair fetches record $28m

London, Feb 26 (ANI): A small brown leather armchair once owned by Yves Saint Laurent has become the most expensive piece of 20th-century design to ever be auctioned.

The armchair, by Irish designer Eileen Gray, fetched 19.4 million pounds at Christie’s in Paris.

The 24 inches high, 61 cms piece of furniture was the highlight of a 90-million pound sale of decorative art, paintings and silver collections of Yves Saint Laurent and the founder of his couture house, Pierre Berge.

It was bought by specialist Paris art gallery Robert and Cheska Vallois, reports The Telegraph.

The unique piece – known as the “dragons’ armchair because of the ornate sculptures on its sweeping armrests – was created between 1917 and 1919.

Philippe Garner, Christie’s international head of 20th Century Decorative Art and Design, said: “It is a fabulous price. The sale was a homage to the great personalities, designers, collectors and patrons who so marked their era in Paris in the 1920s and 1930s and to the pioneering vision of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge as collectors.”

“They were the great tastemakers of their age. The extraordinary price shows that collectors still have a fierce appetite when presented with an opportunity to buy something unique and of the very best quality,” Garner added. (ANI)
