Brit girl, 8, lied to mum about rape, fearing ”she wouldn”t get any sweets”

London, May 14 (ANI): An eight-year-old girl in England, who was allegedly raped by two 10-year-old boys last October, has admitted in a court that she lied to her mother about the incident because she feared she would not get any sweets.

In the trial at the Old Bailey, the child confessed that all three kids had pulled down their own underwear.

She believed it was a “naughty” act, and had not wished to tell it to her mother.

The girl answered the questions of Linda Strudwick, who represented the older boy, via videolink connecting her to the court.

On October 29 last year, the girl she had been playing outside her house in Hayes, west London with the boys.

The court heard how the girl joined the older boys and then they all went into a block of flats, then a bin shed next to the flats, followed by a field nearby. It is there that the alleged rape took place.

Strudwick asked about the moment the youngsters exposed themselves to each other, in a form of “I”ll show you mine if you show me yours”, reports The Telegraph.

Referring to her client, she said: “He took his pants down… The younger boy took his pants down… and you took your knickers down?”

To each question, the girl replied “yeah”.

Strudwick said: “That was a little bit naughty, but nothing too terrible. You were all giggling at the time because it was naughty and it was silly.”

The girl smiled and said shyly: “Yeah.”

Strudwick said: “You knew that you had done something that was naughty? You didn”t want your mum to find out because if your mum found out, no sweeties.

“When your mum came up to you, your mum was not looking very pleased with you? You knew you were going to get into trouble?”

Again, each time the girl replied: “Yeah.”

Strudwick said: “You told her the boys had taken your knickers down because you didn”t want your mother to think that you had been naughty? Is that right?”

The girl replied: “Yeah.”

Justice Saunders asked: “What were you worried about with your mother?”

“No sweeties,” the girl replied.

“Because if you had been naughty you would get no sweeties? Had you been naughty?

“A tiny bit,” said the girl.

Justice Saunders then told the child she had done nothing wrong.

“I am a judge and I know when people have done anything wrong, you have done nothing wrong,” he said.

The boys, now aged 11 and 10, have denied two charges each of rape and two charges each of attempted rape of a child under 13.

The trial continues. (ANI)

‘Miracle’ knickers ‘no magical cure for cellulite’

London, Apr 29 (ANI): Marks & Spencer and other retailers have been criticized for promoting pants that are anti-cellulite.

The knickers, said to contain embedded ingredients such as aloe vera and caffeine, promise to help women look trimmer – without the need to take any extra exercise.

The 29.50-pound M&S knickers, described as ”Waist & Thigh Cincher”, claim to be independently proven to reduce visible signs of cellulite, reports The Telegraph.

However, according to consumer watchdog Which?, women might be being misled into buying the expensive garment.

A spokesman for the M&S pointed out that the label merely said “proven to reduce the visible signs of cellulite” rather than diminishing the cellulite itself.”

She added: “This garment is clearly labelled and we refute claims that it could be misleading. It contains ingredients widely used in creams to reduce visible signs of cellulite and the fabric has been independently tested.” (ANI)

Now, a ‘bumkini’ that helps up sagging bottoms!

London, March 24 (ANI): Women with sagging derrieres have had their prayers answered, thanks to a new undergarment dubbed the “bumkini” that gives a lift to the buttocks like a bra.

Officially called the Biniki, created by Californian psychologist Dr Karin Hart, the product is worn under knickers and uses straps attached to a belt for support.

Dr Hart came up with the idea after her bottom lost its shape due to excessive weight loss.

“I looked for a derriere lift in stores but couldn’t find one so I decided to make something for myself to get the boost I wanted. By wrapping adhesive tape around myself in different ways I found one that worked. The look it gave me was so nice, I decided to make a few to wear under clothes,” The Daily Express quoted her as saying.

“Most people would agree that the breasts and buttocks look best held high on the body. This motivates millions of women to wear bras but there was no lift product for the derriere,” she added. (ANI)

Also, gossip website HollyScoop.com had reported that Gaga actually addressed rumours of her sexuality with a blog entry at Christmas last year.

And the in-store stocks of the new anti-cellulite ‘wonder pants’ were further taken home by shoppers within hours of going on sale.

The Scala Bio-Fir underwear allegedly expels cellulite by using bio-crystals to heat the skin on contact, which in effect melts fat cells and smoothes the dimpled skin.

The store has now come up with a waiting list after thousands placed several pre-orders for the pants, claimed to be a firm favourite of celebrities such as Sienna Miller.

“Although we have always had confidence in this product, the unprecedented customer response has taken us a little bit by surprise. However more stock will be through in time,” the Mirror quoted the chain’s lingerie buyer Helen Spencer as saying. (ANI)

Stumbling Winehouse booed off stage at comeback gig

London, May 10 (ANI): Troubled singer Amy Winehouse was booed off stage at her big comeback gig after she kept on hitting the bottle during the whole performance.

Winehouse, 25, who was performing at a jazz festival in St Lucia, could barely stand as she guzzled drink, forgot her words then burst into tears as the crowd jeered.

The crowd had paid 33 pounds for tickets to the show, which was meant to be a thank-you for the Caribbean islanders’ hospitality, and they were left disappointed when she stumbled around on the stage muttering to herself.

She kept ordering roadies to bring more drinks, despite appearing to be on the verge of collapse, clinging to her microphone stand for support, and then she shouted at her back-up singers for playing songs she’d never heard of, and had to be reminded that she had written the tracks herself.

The Rehab singer was wearing a dirty bikini top and flashing her silver knickers, and when there was a power cut due to the rain, she did not seem to notice and kept on singing.

When the lights came back on, Winehouse tried in vain to roll a cigarette, chewed the paper and tobacco then spat it at the crowd, and she then lunged at a backing singer with her tongue out.

Afterwards her entourage bizarrely blamed first the weather then her sadness over the break up with hubby Blake Fielder-Civil.

“It’s the first time Amy has sung those songs for a long time. They brought back all her memories of her Blake,” News of the World quoted a spokesman as saying.

But for New Yorker Dave Geoghegan, 44, and the rest of the crowd, it was a waste of time.

“It’s entertaining but only in the way a train crash is,” Geoghegan stated. (ANI)

Eco-friendly knickers are flying off British stores shelves

London, April 17 (ANI): Knickers, made from planet friendly fabrics, have been fast disappearing from the British shelves.

The idea of fair trade organic knickers came to Sarah Lucy Smith for her final project while studying the Eco Design course at Goldsmiths University.
She later joined forces with school friend Rose Cleary-Southwood and thus GreenKnickers came about.

And now the zero carbon pants are so popular that they have been flying off the shelves and a new wedding range is planned next in line.

“We started GreenKnickers to prove that ethical can be funny, beautiful and sexy. The fabrics are so gorgeous, and super-duper green,” Sky News quoted Sarah as saying.

“They’re selling extremely well. Some customers say they’re the comfiest knickers they’ve ever worn,” she added.

The global warming undergarments, made from fabrics such as organic cotton, hemp and silk, reaches in a box made from recycled paper.

A pair, costing up to 25 pounds, plus 3 pounds for postage and packaging, even changes its colour as it warms up due to thermo-chromic inks. (ANI)

Gordon Brown aide plotted to cripple Tory poll hopes

London, Apr.13 (ANI): British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s close aide, Damian McBride, plotted to cripple Tory election hopes with a vile campaign of unfounded and obscene rumours.

McBride, Brown’s strategy chief, quit after e-mails detailing his sinister smear plan were leaked.
A furious Conservative party leader, David Cameron, however, demanded a personal apology from Brown, saying that he was championing corruption and sleaze in Downing Street.

McBride, dubbed “McPoison” by his political victims, planned to unleash his campaign of slurs on the Internet in the run-up to the next general election, reports The Sun.

McBride, 34, listed the slurs in e-mails to ex-Labour spin doctor and blogger Derek Draper.

They included four viz. (1) Cameron suffers from an embarrassing medical condition; (2) Shadow Chancellor George Osborne had sex and took drugs with a hooker and that an ex-girlfriend has pictures of him in a bra, knickers and suspenders; (3) That Tory MP Nadine Dorries had a one-night stand with a fellow MP and (4) A secretly gay Tory MP used his position to get publicity for a firm run by his partner.
The existence of these e-mails was revealed by political blogger Paul Staines, who writes the Guido Fawkes website.

Downing Street has tried to dismiss the scandal as an exchange of “juvenile” emails.

A spokesman said: “Neither the Prime Minister, nor anybody else in Downing Street, had knowledge of these emails. It is the Prime Minister’s view there is no place in politics for the dissemination of material of this kind. Mr McBride and Mr Draper took the decision not to publish this.” (ANI)

Indian origin doc in UK smacked bottoms and asked women about sex

London, Mar 19 (ANI): A British doctor of Indian origin has been charged for allegedly giving unnecessary intimate examinations, smacking patients on the bottom and questioning them about their favourite sexual positions.

Dr. Rajinder Aggarwal, 54, stands accused of four charges of sexual touching of women between December 2006 and January 2007. Four women, aged between 26 and 53, have lodged complaints against him, The Sun reports.

A female colleague also complained that Dr. Aggarwal boasted about visits to sex parties before asking how often she had had intercourse.

He was working as a locum at the Bluebell Surgery in South Ockchestendon, Essex, and Homerton Hospital, East London.

They complained that Dr. Aggarwal asked them out for dinner and had given out his phone number and even inquired what sexual positions they enjoyed.

Prosecutor Anthony Abell said one woman suffering from panic attacks was “prodded and pushed” around the groin area by the doctor when he was working on an out of hours service for Homerton Hospital in East London.

“He told her she was an attractive lady. He then asked her when she last had sex and with whom. He told her she looked like a million dollars and then gave her these words of advice – ‘Do you know what would do you good? You should go out and paint the town red and have a good s****’”

Abell told the Essex court the doctor then wrote down his phone number and asked the stunned woman out for dinner.

One patient who went to see the doctor with a chest problem claimed he had got sexually aroused while examining her.

“He pulled down her tights and knickers and began to tap her lower stomach and pubic area. As he did this he was pressing his genitals against her lower right arm. She could tell he had an erection,” Abell told the court.

“He told her to stand up and turn round. Once she had done so he smacked her on the bottom so hard that it hurt and caused her to stumble forwards.”

Abell said: “It is alleged he sexually touched three female patients during consultations with them. During those consultations he spoke inappropriately about their sex lives and the prosecution say, touched them in an unnecessary and inappropriate ways.”

“His touching of them was ‘sexual’ because of how and where he touched them. There are striking similarities in the way, which the defendant behaved with these three patients, none of whom know each other.”

The court heard the doctor was arrested on March 26, 2008, and in a police interview he admitted seeing the patients and giving one his phone number, claiming she had asked him for it.

Dr. Aggarwal, who sat in the court smartly dressed, denies all of the charges. The trial, which is expected to last two weeks, continues. (ANI)
