Washington, Aug 31 (ANI): Singer Katy Perry was mistaken for American actress Zooey Deschanel in Los Angeles.

The ‘I Kissed a Girl’ hitmaker was stunned when a group of fans mistook her for the ’500 Days of Summer’ star.

“F**k. I’m outside minding my own business eating pinkberry and some s**tz yell out the car “zooooooeeey desccchanel” FML, welcome to LA.(sic),” Contactmusic quoted her as having written on her Twitter page.

Perry had recently revealed that she once raised 2,000 pounds for charity by auctioning off a replica pair of her boobs on eBay.

The singer, who recently claimed that the power of her prayer had resulted in her impressive 32DD ‘boulders’, says that she’s proud of her twin assets. (ANI)

Queen Latifah has no plans to grab Paula Abdul’s ‘American Idol’ job

Washington, Aug 27 (ANI): Queen Latifah has denied that she will be permanently filling in for Paula Abdul on ‘American Idol’.

The rapper-turned-actress is in talks to join regulars Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi for a few auditions of the show.

But the singer has claimed that she won’t become the fourth judge when the talent show returns to Los Angeles for a new season.

“I don’t want to replace Paula Abdul. I feel like she is irreplaceable,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

Abdul quit as a judge on the show earlier this month (Aug09), and stars of the likes of Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige and Katy Perry have filled her spot as special guests. (ANI)

Washington, July 15 (ANI): American singer/songwriter Katy Perry has promised to get “nasty” in her new album, following her fight with Brit singer Lily Allen.

Perry, 24, said that she would be airing the opinions she previously kept suppressed, sparking speculation that it could include her feud with the British artist.

Washington, July 14 (ANI): Katy Perry has toned down her party lifestyle because she’s worried it could ruin her pop career.

The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker says that she started to mellow her social life after seeing other stars ruin their reputation with a wild lifestyle.

However, the singer says that she won’t quit having fun altogether – she just makes sure she always has an early night.

“My motto has always been: live life to the full because at the end you’re dead. But I’m starting to mellow a bit. I still believe in taking risks in my music, but I’ve realised that I can’t party like I used to and expect to remain focused on my work,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“I’ve seen too many people live that way and almost wreck their careers. That’s not going to happen to me. I’m still full on, but these days I see the wisdom in having a good night’s sleep,” she added. (ANI)

Katy Perry’s namesake appeals to the pop star to call off her lawyers

London, Jul 7 (ANI): American singer songwriter Katy Perry’s namesake has posted an online appeal to her asking her to call off the lawyers who are threatening her business.

Perry, 24, the singer, was actually born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, and the fashion designer from Sydney was born Katie Jane Perry.

When the fashion designer applied to trademark her name, she received a letter from the singer’s lawyers opposing the move.

Their claims being that people would believe her clothing line was linked to the pop star.

Katie Jane Perry has said that changing her trading name could jeopardise her burgeoning business, which was started two years ago, and she has just opened her first store in the Sydney suburb of Mosman.

Now she has taken matters into her own hands by posting a video on YouTube.

Standing in front of the landmark Sydney Opera House, the designer makes a direct appeal to the pop star to back off.

“I’m an Aussie girl doing my dream. I’m no threat to you… and the only people who are making any money out of this are lawyers,” Sky News quoted her as saying.

Jane Perry has invited the singer to visit her studio when she tours Australia in August.

Legal experts said that the lawyers were taking action because so many entertainers these days branch out into fashion, and that Aussie Perry may have to prove she was trading before her American namesake became famous. (ANI)

Katy Perry’s flu cure – bathing naked with pizza!

New Delhi, June 26 (ANI): Katy Perry, who is recovering from the flu, has posted a picture of herself having pizza while in the bath.

On her Twitter account, the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer posted a provocative photo of herself lying nude in a bathroom, with a tray of half-eaten pizza protecting her modesty.

The stunner was halfway through her world tour when she fell ill in Milan, Italy, reports The China Daily.

After being unable to eat for three days, Katy wrote about her “sexual attraction” to foods including crispy beef, curry and pizza.

She said: “Why is it that after not eating for three days all i can think of is food… food is smiling at me… luring me with sexual seduction (sic).”

Questioned by her fans she then revealed: “Few of my fave things. BBQ chicken chop at CPK Chinese, chicken salad at Chinchins, Rock shrimp + yellow tail sashimi at Nobu, Crispy beef at Mr.Chow’s, endive salad at Le Petite, four curry chicken salad at Urth Cafe, my beloved double double at INnOut.

Girl in coma wakes up singing Mamma Mia!

London, May 26 (ANI): A three-year-old girl fell into a coma after being struck down by meningitis, but stunned her family when she woke up five days later – singing Abba hit Mamma Mia.

Layla Towsey was so ill after getting the brain bug she had been put on a life support machine.

The little girl’s family was told to give her a final kiss goodbye when she fell into coma.

However, it was far from the final curtain for Layla, who regain consciousness singing Abba tune.

“We had been preparing for bad news as the life support machine was keeping her alive. But on the Sunday I could hear her singing Mamma Mia quietly. I couldn’t believe it. I knew then she would be OK,” the Sun quoted Layla’s mum Katy as saying.

Layla, from Gidea Park, East London, had learned the song after seeing the Mamma Mia! movie. She has now made a good recovery, with just scars on her legs from blood poisoning.

“It’s one of her favourite songs – she loves it. She got as close to death as you can get. She’s a miracle,” Katy added. (ANI)

New York, May 20 (ANI): Former U.S. President Bill Clinton still seems to be very popular with women, for he reportedly was seen chatting up several of the 60 models at the LIFEbeat fashion show in Vienna recently.

Bill attended the show while his wife Hillary was busy trying to forge world peace.

“He was quite the hit with them,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying.

A representative for Clinton said: “He went from the stage straight to the cars.”

The source revealed that Bill later attended the Life Ball AIDS benefit with Pamela Anderson, Katy Perry, Eva Longoria Parker, and Ivana Trump.

Washington, May 7 (ANI): ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer Katy Perry has revealed how she once staged a wedding with an ex-boyfriend, while she was 21.

“We went to Vegas on a whim and we decided to get fake married,” Us magazine quoted Perry, now 24, as telling PopEater.com.

“We took all the pictures with the minister, with the fake cake, in the fake chapel and got a fake marriage certificate. We went and bought a wedding dress and a suit at a thrift store, and scanned the pictures and the certificate to my family members, my manager at the time (and) totally freaked the s— out of them.

“It was the most hilarious, stupid prank I’ve ever pulled,” she added.

Katy revealed that she still had “the wedding dress and the certificate,” and that the experience even inspired her latest single.

The couple realised that they could not bear to be apart, and therefore, have rekindled their romance.

Washington, April 13 (ANI): Katy Perry has dismissed reports that she and Rihanna are ‘best friends’.

Reports suggested that the pair bonded following Rihanna’s alleged bust-up with Chris Brown in February (09), that reportedly left her battered and bruised.

Washington, Apr 7 (ANI): Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole has beaten supermodel Kate Moss and Victoria Beckham to be voted as the best-dressed woman of the year and style icon of the decade.

In the poll conducted by television channel The Style Network, Cole was voted as the ‘Best Dressed Woman of 2009 along with the style icon accolade.

The survey involving 3000 women also showed that women were seen as at their most stylish when aged between 25 and 30.

Wrapping up the top five were TV presenter Alexa Chung and Gossip Girl star Blake Lively.

The singer says that she would love to start a family one-day, but is currently too busy focusing on her career to even contemplate about having kids.

Katy Perry, Rihanna spend girlie time together

London, Apr 1 (ANI): Singers Katy Perry and Rihanna have formed a special bond, and become inseparable in recent weeks.

Perry, 24, gotten in touch with 21-year-old Rihanna to offer her help after news of her allegedly being assaulted by Chris Brown broke out in February.

The ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer has been helping Rihanna get over the ordeal, and has also played a key role in cheering her up by taking her for girlie nights out.

“Katy was there when Rihanna needed her the most and as terrible as the stuff with Chris is, at least one good thing has come of it,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“Both of them have had man troubles recently so they are enjoying having some girlie time,” the source added.

The two are even hoping to find time in their busy schedules to go for a luxury girlie getaway to Puerto Rico. (ANI)

Katy Perry dating Josh Groban?

Washington, Mar 24 (ANI): Katy Perry seems to have moved on after parting ways with Travis McCoy, as she is allegedly dating musician Josh Groban.

The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker was earlier linked to Paris Hilton’s former beau Benji Madden.

However, she seems to have found love in musician Josh, reports PerezHilton.com.

Although the duo is said to be dating, they are not going public with it.

“They’ve been trying to keep it very low profile,” Contactmusic quoted a source, as telling the website. (ANI)

Katy Perry mortified when chimp urinated on her

New Delhi, Mar 20 (ANI): ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer Katy Perry has revealed that she was mortified when a chimpanzee urinated on her during a shoot.

Perry, 24, was posing for a magazine when the animal, which was part of the photo shoot, decided to relieve itself on her, reports the China Daily.

“Jeremy Scott is one of my all time favourites and he shot the pictures while I got to prance around in his creations,” she wrote on her blog.

“I had a chimp on set with me that day. Fun fact, she peed all over me, I had to take a silkwood shower in the middle of shooting,” she added. (ANI)
