Jessica Simpson looking for a “normal man”

London, Apr 16 (ANI): Jessica Simpson has revealed that she is looking for a “normal man”.

Ex-lover John Mayer described her as “sexual napalm” in Playboy magazine, a comment which made Jessica, 29, livid, reports The Daily Express.

The singer turned TV star had an on-off relationship with the American musician after her split from husband and Newlyweds co-star Nick Lachey.

But, now singleton Jessica is ready to try something new.

She says: “I’ve wanted to date a doctor… [or] a chef. I just want a normal man. ” (ANI)

Aniston faces criticism as ‘The Bounty Hunter’ bombs at BO

New York, April 1 (ANI): Jennifer Aniston has been heavily criticized after her latest film ‘The Bounty Hunter’ bombed at the box office.

The actress’ heavily promoted romantic comedy with Gerard Butler has pulled in just 38.4 million dollars domestically in its first 10 days of release.

The former ‘Friends’ star’s ‘Love Happens,’ another romantic comedy with Aaron Eckhart, grossed 22.9 million dollars in the US – which was still way ahead of ‘Management’ with Steve Zahn, which grossed just 935,000 dollars.

“Aniston just can”t play the good friend anymore. She”s aged out, no matter the yoga and the highlights. She just can”t do America”s sweetheart next door. She needs a big wake-up call,” the New York Post quoted one film critic as saying.

“And as for her taste in men, it”s totally off. John Mayer? Gerard Butler? She”s missing a common-sense gene,” the critic added.

One movie producer said: “It”s hard for any TV stars to make the transition to movies. Certainly no one else from ”Friends” made it.” (ANI)

Men imagine undressing me post-Mayer’s ‘napalm’ comment: Jessica Simpson

New York, March 16 (ANI): Jessica Simpson feels men imagine undressing her after ex boyfriend John Mayer compared her to “sexual napalm” in an interview.

The singer revealed that she felt uncomfortable being in public.

“I”ll walk into a restaurant and I feel like men are looking at me. I feel like they”re undressing me,” the New York Daily News quoted her as saying on ‘The View’.

The blonde also dismissed Mayer’s apology.

She added: “He”ll never have this napalm again!”

Simpson has started her own VH1 reality show, ‘The Price of Beauty.’ (ANI)

Jennifer Aniston fears tabloid gossip ruining her career

London, Mar 16 (ANI): Former ‘Friends’ star Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she fears tabloid gossips are destroying her career, as fans focus more on who she is dating rather than on the films she is working on.

Aniston, 41, who has had her romances with John Mayer, Vince Vaughn and ex-husband Brad Pitt flashed all over the world, admits she’s tired of being a “tabloid face”.

“That distracts from what you do and what you work really hard at which is our movies, our television shows,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

“It’s almost like another job that you have not chosen to be a part of. It’s like a soap opera that you did not sign up for,” she added. (ANI)

Mayer ‘begs’ Aniston for another chance

Washington, Sept 16 (ANI): John Mayer desperately wants to get back with Jennifer Aniston, it has emerged.

The ‘Gravity’ singer reportedly telephoned ex-girlfriend in tears, begging her to take him back, reports Contactmusic.

Mayer dumped the Hollywood actress in March this year.

A source said: “John asked Jen if they could go back to seeing each other exclusively. The call came as a massive surprise and of course Jen is delighted with John’s announcement – who wouldn’t be?”

The 31-year-old star has reportedly promised to give the relationship his “best shot” if she agrees to take him back.

The source explained to Britain’s Look magazine: “John suggested that if all is going well with them in six months, then they can begin discussing marriage and building a life together. Jen was floored! John always seemed so anti-commitment before. But now he’s begging Jen for another chance and he’s promising to give the relationship his best shot.

“Despite his big plans, John suggested they don’t rush into moving in together. She’ll keep her house in Beverly Hills, while John will continue to live in Pacific Palisades. I think it’s just because he wants to move slowly and avoid mistakes they made previously.”

Aniston was most recently linked to Gerard Butler, who she stars alongside in The Bounty, and Bradley Cooper. (ANI)

John Mayer Tweets: “I’ve never high fived Kristin Cavalari with my penis”

Washington, September 11 (ANI): Singer John Mayer posted some ridiculously funny Tweets to establish the point that he isn’t dating Hills hottie Kristin Cavallari.

The ‘Your Body is a Wonderland’ hitmaker’s first post read: Rumor control: How do I put this like a gentleman…I have never high fived Kristin Cavalari with my penis,” Us magazine reports.

Another went: “I’m sure she’s a wonderful gal but we have never tasted the Skittles Rainbow together.”

He added: “My Milli has never slam danced with her Vanilli.”

And Mayer ended with: “I have never Bensoned her Hedges, nor have I attempted to Bartle her James.”

The posts come after rumors spread on the net of his link-up with Kristin. (ANI)

Jennifer Aniston still believes in love

Washington, September 9 (ANI): Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she still believes in finding “the one” despite a string of failed relationships.

The actress, who is divorced from Brad Pitt and has endured splits from actor Vince Vaughn, model Paul Sculfor and singer John Mayer, insists she still believes in romance.

“I’m still a romantic. I still believe in love,” Us magazine quoted her as telling Australia’s Harper’s Bazaar.

The “Friend” star, who was reportedly linked with her ‘The Bounty’ co-star Gerard Butler, further revealed what helps her get past a broken romance.

She added: “I think it’s important to have closure in any relationship that ends-from a romantic relationship to a friendship.

“You should always have a sense of clarity at the end and know why it began and why it ended. You need that in your life to move cleanly into your next phase.” (ANI)

Aniston thinks “laziness” makes relationship fail

Washington, September 8 (ANI): Jennifer Aniston believes “laziness” causes relationships to fail.

The actress, who split from former husband Brad Pitt, actor Vince Vaughn, model Paul Sculfor and singer John Mayer, shared her relationship wisdom with Australia’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine.

“Why does the romance leave relationships? I think it’s laziness. I really do,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“I think a good relationship is about collaboration. That’s the way to go in a relationship,” she added.

The “Friends” star further revealed what she thought made romances work, saying: “I think you just need to talk to each other. Say what you need. Say what you want. That way it’s not threatening.

“You just need to say, ‘This is important to me.’ Don’t expect your mate to read your mind.” (ANI)

Aniston still wears John Mayer’s gifted watch

Washington, Aug 31(ANI): Actress Jennifer Aniston still wears the gold Rolex watch gifted to her by ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

The former ‘Friends’ star has been seen with the luxury watch amid rumours she and Mayer have rekindled their romance “John gave Jennifer the Rolex when they were at the height of their romance in May 2008. Jennifer hardly took the watch off, but when they split she stopped wearing it. In recent weeks she’s started wearing it again to show John he’s still in her thoughts,” Contactmusic quoted a source as saying.

Aniston, 40, and Mayor, 31, had been together for around four months last year. They paired together again earlier this year only to call it off in April.

However, it is believed Aniston has started flirting with the musician again.

The source added: “She’s even been sending him flirty texts and emails…. Jennifer’s plan is obviously working – John is a keen Rolex collector and Jennifer knows how symbolic the gesture is to him. He’s been replying to her with racy pictures and emails.

“It’s only a matter of time before they officially announce they’re back together.” (ANI)

Jen Aniston ‘won’t date a normal guy’

Washington, Aug 25 (ANI): Jennifer Aniston always tends to go after guys who can get her most time in the spotlight, and would never “date a normal guy”, according to a source.

People close to the actress, who was recently spotted holding hands with Gerard Butler, have revealed that she pursues only guys who can keep her as high profile as possible.

“Jennifer won’t date a normal guy,” Us magazine quoted a source as saying.

“She goes after the hottest thing of the moment, what she knows will get her the most time in the spotlight,” the insider added.

Aniston, 40, is currently filming ‘The Bounty Hunter’ with Gerard Butler, who starred in ‘The Ugly Truth’, which made 27 million dollar in its opening weekend.

Before that, 6teh ‘Friends’ star pursued Bradley Cooper, who anchored ‘The Hangover’, which has earned more than 400 million dollars worldwide since hitting theaters in June.

Jennifer has also dated John Mayer (who won five Grammys in 2009 alone), and was married to Brad Pitt-arguably the biggest star in Hollywood. (ANI)

Ex-lover Mayer’s text messages behind Simpson-Romo split?

London, July 16 (ANI): American singer Jessica Simpson was allegedly dumped by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo after he found text messages from her ex-lover John Mayer on her cell phone.

The two are said to have split up last week, with Romo, 29, ending the 20-month relationship on the eve of Simpson’s 29th birthday on July 10.

Though the two have not confirmed the break-up, reports suggest Romo dumped the singer when he discovered she was still in touch with rocker Mayer, from whom she split in 2007.

“They (Simpson and Romo) were hanging out and he picked up her phone and she got defensive about it,” the Daily Star quoted a source as telling RadarOnline.com.

“Tony found messages from John and went ballistic. He dumped her right then. He walked out and that was it,” the source added. (ANI)

Jennifer Aniston ‘gets cozy with Gerard Butler’

London, July 16 (ANI): Actress Jennifer Aniston was spotted getting cozy with co-star Gerard Butler on the set of their new movie The Bounty.

The former ‘Friends’ star had one arm wrapped tightly around Gerard’s back and a palm pressed flat against his chest – the exact same pose she struck for public cuddles with former hubby Brad Pitt, old flame Vince Vaughn and ex-boyfriend John Mayer.

According to on-set sources, Gerard has been making Jennifer giggle a lot, and put a smile back on her face.

“There’s a definite chemistry between Jennifer and Gerard,” the Mirror quoted the source as saying.

“They seem to be spending a lot of time together, even when they are not working,” the source added. (ANI)

John Mayer says he can’t replicate Jackson

Washington, July 10 (ANI): John Mayer has said that he chose not to sing at Michael Jackson’s memorial in Los Angeles because he believes that he cannot replicate the legend.

The singer had performed an instrumental of the hit single ‘Human Nature’ at the event in Staples Center.

“The decision not to sing came from knowing what’s best for me. I think it’s a mine field to try in any way to replicate vocally what Michael Jackson has done,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

He also explained that by not singing he wanted the absence of King of Pop to be realized.

He said: “And in a way, it was sort of respectfully leaving an absence, you know, sort of the presence of his absence.”

Mayer also revealed that he was amazed on being invited to the ceremony and wanted to confirm if the Jackson family wished him to come.

He added: “The first thing I said was a question, ‘Does this really come from the family?’ I think that was essential to me to be able to process the honor.

“It took me about 48 hours to strike the balance in how I was going to approach being invited to this unbelievable event without actually having the proximity to Michael Jackson, personally. I’d never met him.”

Mariah Carey, Usher and Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson had also performed at the event. (ANI)

To his fans he was their hero, but to his children he was simply ‘the best daddy ever’.

And last night Michael Jackson’s children stepped into the limelight to pay tribute to their father.

His tearful daughter Paris’s voice broke as she told the millions watching the Los Angeles memorial concert: ‘I just want to say… ever since I was born…. daddy has been the best father you can imagine. And I just want to say I love him so much.’

The 11-year-old paused as she spoke, struggling to get the words out through her tears.

Her genuine emotion filled the silent Staples Center, which had earlier shook with laughter, sobs and applause as some of the world’s biggest artists lined up to perform and pay tribute to Jackson.

Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, John Mayer and even Britain’s Got Talent runner up Shaheen Jafargholi took it in turns to perform.

But after all the showmanship and glitz, it was unscripted Paris who summed up the man behind the headlines as she ended the memorial.

She and her brothers, shielded from public view at Jackson’s insistence, shed their masks to commemorate their late father, who died aged 50 on June 25.

Throughout the event Paris sat in the front-row with her brothers, 12-year-old Prince Michael I, and Prince Michael II alongside her. She rested her head on her grandmother Katherine’s shoulder as celebrities spoke about her father.

Prince Michael II, known as Blanket, clutched a doll in his father’s image. At seven he is two years older than Jackson was when he started his singing career.

Jackson’s brothers, each wearing one white glove, began the concert by wheeling his flower-covered gold-trimmed casket onto the stage at the Staples Center, where days before his death he was rehearsing for his O2 concerts.

The coffin sat under a spotlight throughout, in front of the thousands of fans.

Smokey Robinson opened the memorial with tributes from Nelson Mandela and Diana Ross, before Pastor Lucious Smith spoke on behalf of the Jackson family.

Mariah Carey was the first artist to appear on stage. Her voice quivered as she launched into a rendition of I’ll Be There, accompanied by Trey Lorenz.

In a moving tribute actress Queen Latifah then shared her memories of Jackson, saying she was there to represent the fans who ‘grew up loving Michael from a distance’.

She laughed as she remembered purchasing the Jackson 5 single Dancing Machine, before reading a poem by author Maya Angelou.

It was Jackson’s skills on stage which were remembered next by Berry Gordy Jr, the founder of Motown Records, the label that signed the Jackson 5.

‘He studied the greats and then became greater. He raised the bar, and then he broke the bar,’ he said. ‘It was kill or be killed. The more I talk about Michael Jackson, the more I feel the King Of Pop is not big enough for him.

‘I think he is simply the greatest entertainer that ever lived.’

As fans cheered Gordy then reflected on Jackson’s ability as an artist. ‘Off-stage he was shy, soft-spoken and childlike. But when he took the stage in front of his fans he became a different person. A master. Awesome… totally in charge.’

Stevie Wonder then serenaded Jackson’s coffin with the song Never Dreamed You’d Leave In Summer, which featured in the movie Poetic Justice, starring Janet Jackson.

‘This is a moment that I wish I didn’t live to see coming. But as much as I can say that and mean it, I do know that God is good,’ he said.

‘And I do know that as much as we may feel, and we do, that we need Michael here with us, God must have needed him far more.’

Following Wonder were light-hearted reflections from Jackson’s sporting friends Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson.

Johnson remembered his first meeting with the superstar, who with his brother Marlon, was a season ticket holder for the Los Angeles Lakers.

After receiving a phonecall from Jackson he visited Neverland to discuss appearing in the video for Remember the Time.

On arrival Jackson’s personal chef asked what he wanted to eat, and he recalled asking for grilled chicken.

‘The chef brought me out the grilled chicken, but he brought Michael a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken. That was the greatest moment of my life,’ he said, to laughter from the crowd.

The two then shared the chicken, said Johnson.

Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson then gave a moving gospel performance of Jackson’s Will You Be There, from the album Dangerous.

Los Angeles had earlier come to a standstill as Jackson’s golden casket made the 11-mile journey from the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The 18-car motorcade was given a huge police escort along roads closed to rush-hour traffic as the city pulled out all the stops to give the singer a VIP sendoff.

The traffic snarls and logistical nightmares that had been feared by officials had not materialised as the thousands of fans with tickets began filing in early and encountered few problems.

Jackson’s family and close friends paid their respects at a short funeral service, before heading to the memorial concert.

Twenty helicopters circled over the Staples Center, transmitting pictures and video footage of the event to an audience of millions around the world.

More than 1.6million people registered for free tickets to the memorial, with 8,750 people receiving two each.

Those with the ‘golden tickets’ dressed in tribute shirts, as if for a Jackson concert, while others copied Jackson’s famous white glove.

Speculation is continuing over where Jackson will finally be laid to rest, with sources saying the family are now hoping to bury him at Neverland – although they have yet to receive permission from authorities.

In a surreal start to the day, 11 elephants and seven horses paraded past the Staples Center, waking fans sleeping on the roofs of their cars outside.

The animals were from the Ringling Bros Circus and were making the traditional journey from the circus train to the performance arena – taking advantage of a bit of free publicity along the way.

Street vendors lined the roads surrounding the Staples Center, selling a vast array of memorable – some may say tacky – souvenirs.

The goods on offer included T-shirts, and baseball caps with Jackson’s picture and date of death on the front.

Some of the more unusual items included white gloves, similar to those worn by the singer in his hey day, badges and glass bottles of soft drinks with a ‘King of Pop’ label on the front.

One woman, selling badges, said she expected to make $5,000 from the occasion.

Standing just outside the large police cordon around the venue was a Jackson impersonator, posing for pictures with fans.

A few girls sat weeping on the pavements, the occasion too much for them, while others frantically asked passers by if they had spare tickets for the service.

Barack Obama interrupted his visit to Moscow to say: ‘There are certain people in our popular culture that just capture people’s imaginations. And in death, they become even larger

‘Now, I have to admit that it’s also fed by a 24/7 media that is insatiable.’

Meanwhile, BBC2 cleared its schedule to screen the Michael Jackson memorial service live.

King of Pop Michael Jackson gets royal send off

Los Angeles, July 8 (DPA) From the fleet of Bentley limousines that transported his family, to the endlessly fawning comments of television anchors throughout the blanket coverage, Michael Jackson, the late King of Pop, got a send-off Tuesday that was fit for royalty.

As the 30-vehicle convoy left the Forest Lawns Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills, it drove past dozens of broadcast trucks, with several news helicopters buzzing overhead. Police closed the 101 Freeway to allow the procession easy passage to the public memorial in downtown Los Angeles. Traffic in the opposite direction also slowed to a virtual standstill as commuters halted their journey to catch a glimpse of the hearse.

As the procession drew up to the Staples Centre a high-flying plane drew a huge heart in the blue Los Angeles sky, while fans screamed, “We love Michael!” TV crews were set up on dozens of large podiums close to the entrance, as the country’s most distinguished news anchors, from Katie Couric to Brian Williams, led the coverage.

“We made so many sacrifices to see him one last time. We sold everything we had in our house,” said one fan, who journeyed for three days on buses from South Carolina to southern California to attend the memorial, even though she had no ticket.

Inside the arena, a large royal blue stage was erected at a basketball court that usually plays host to the Los Angeles Lakers. The backdrop featured a photo of a smiling Jackson looking up towards the sky and the words: “In loving memory of Michael Jackson King of Pop. 1958-2009.”

A lavish gold-coloured programme featured pictures of Jackson with presidents, political leaders and showbiz stars, and tributes from his family and friends.

The elaborate service began with Smokey Robinson reading tribute letters from the likes of Diana Ross and Nelson Mandela. The backdrop then changed to an image of stained glass windows as Jackson’s casket, laden high with flowers, was wheeled in. His pallbearers were each wearing a single, sequined glove in a tribute to one of Jackson’s signature styles, as a gospel choir sang.

The elite of pop music performed tributes for Jackson, from Mariah Carey and Stevie Wonder to John Mayer and Usher.

“The title King of Pop is not big enough for him,” said Berry Gordy, the founder of Motown who discovered Jackson and guided his early career. “I think he is simply the greatest entertainer that ever lived.”

But for some in the entertainment world, the endless fawning and hagiography was a little much. Media columnist Brian Lowry could barely wait for the event to end as he blogged it live for entertainment trade paper Variety. He juxtaposed the reverential tones with the bizarre behaviour that Jackson often displayed and which “makes the worshipful tone characterizing much of this coverage even more questionable.”

African American activist Al Sharpton, in his eulogy for Jackson, tried to explain the pop star’s mass appeal. “You would have to understand the journey of Michael to understand what he means to us,” said Sharpton.

“When Michael started it was a different world but because he kept going, because he refused to let other people decide his boundaries, he opened up the whole world. It was Michael Jackson who brought blacks and whites and Asians and Latinos together. It was MJ who made us say ‘We Are The World’ and ‘Feed the Hungry’.”

Only one reader of Variety, commonly regarded as the Bible of the US entertainment industry, bothered to post a comment – and he obviously did not agree with Sharpton. “A grotesque and vulgar display,” noted reader Jack Henry of the ceremony. “The US is not only financially bankrupt, but morally and culturally bankrupt as well. God help us.”

Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie to perform at Michael Jackson’s memorial

London, July 7 (ANI): Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, and Lionel Richie are among the stars who are set to perform at Michael Jackson’s memorial service.

The Jackson family had announced that several music geniuses would be involved in the 90-minute tribute at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles today.

Other artists taking part also include singers Jennifer Hudson, Usher, John Mayer, actress Brooke Shields, and basketball players Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant, reports the Telegraph.

Britain’s Got Talent finalist Shaheen Jafargholi, 12, will also feature in the event that will be broadcast live across the globe on television and the Internet.

The Jacksons, however, said that the list was “preliminary and subject to change.” (ANI)

John Mayer claims Pink kneed him in the “nuts”

Washington, June 23 (ANI): Musician John Mayer has claimed that singer Pink had kneed him in the genitals outside a luxury Hollywood hotel last year.

The ‘Gravity’ singer posted a cryptic message on his Twitter account, claiming that Pink attacked him outside a luxury Hollywood hotel.

“Last year P!nk kneed me in the nuts outside Chateau Marmont. I was p***ing blood for days. Did I make a scene? (sic)” Contactmusic quoted Mayer as saying.

Pink had called Mayer her “most-hated celebrity” after they met at a party in the Hollywood Hills last year in October.

She said: “I got into an argument with him. I don’t believe him as much as he believes him. He said something along the lines of, ‘I only sh*g really stupid women.’

“And I said, ‘I guess they would have to be.’ I don’t get him at all,” she added. (ANI)
