Beyonce pregnant?

New York, Mar 26 (ANI): Star couple Jay-Z and Beyonce will soon become proud parents, according to a report.

According to Mediatakeout.com, a blog which claims to be “the most visited urban website in the world,” Beyonce is pregnant, reports The New York Post.

The website apparently “learned from a ROCK SOLID source” that she”s expecting, and “is doing fine and resting (for now).”

The site also reported that Jay Z is “EXTREMELY happy to be having his first child with Bey.”

Meanwhile, Alan Nierob, Beyonce”s publicist, said “no comment”” on the issue, adding: “We don”t respond to private-matter inquiries.”” (ANI)

Naomi Campbell’s billionaire beau planning her super 40th b’day bash

New York, March 25 (ANI): Naomi Campbell’s billionaire Russian boyfriend Vladimir Doronin is reportedly planning a super-party for the supermodel’s 40th birthday in May this year.

Doronin would reportedly spend millions for “the party of the year” on the French Riviera.

“Naomi”s birthday is going to be as lavish as other recent big celebrity 40th birthdays, such as Sean Combs, Jay-Z and Simon Cowell,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying.

“Invites are already being sent out and people are expected to jet in from New York.

“Vladimir is planning and paying for the whole event, which is slated for May 22 in or near Cannes. There will be a series of events for Naomi leading up to the big party at a secret location, which is believed to be on a super-yacht,” the source added. (ANI)

Jay-Z to break Elvis Presley’s album record

London, September 17 (ANI): Jay-Z may soon become the solo artist with the most chart-toppers in US chart history beating King of Rock ‘n’ Roll Elvis Presley.

The rap star’s new album ‘Blueprint 3′ might as well be his 11th American number one album, which will take him past the late ‘Jailhouse Rock’ hitmaker’s record of 10 number ones.

Billboard said the 39-year-old had so far shifted 476,000 copies of the LP, the BBC News reports.

Meanwhile, the Beatles still retain their position as the most successful act on the US chart, with 19 US number one albums. (ANI)

Jay Z, Beyonce’s pizza night out ‘tradition’

Washington, Sept 16 (ANI): Singer Jay Z and Beyonce Knowles take time out of their busy schedules to eat pizza together every week.

The couple clear their hectic workloads on the weekend to spend quality time together sitting down at a small restaurant in the rapper’s native Brooklyn, New York.

“There’s a great pizza spot we go to every Sunday. It’s our tradition,” Contactmusic quoted Jay Z as saying.

“It’s a small place in Brooklyn – you can bring your own wine and there are candles there. It’s a nice date,” he added.

The couple married in a private ceremony in 2008. (ANI)

Jay-Z, Will Smith among investors of Fela Kuti musical

Washington, Sep 14 (ANI): Hip-hop artist Jay-Z and actor Will Smith are said to be among the investors of a new musical about the life of revered African world music star Fela Kuti.

Both stars have given Bill T. Jones’ Broadway production Fela a huge boost, a month before it is scheduled to hit the stage, reports Contactmusic.

The original version of the musical opened off-Broadway last year and starred Sahr Ngaujah, who will reprise his critically acclaimed role as Kuti.

Production on the rehearsals was halted recently due to financial concerns. (ANI)

Jay-Z will never announce retirement

Washington, Sept 11 (ANI): Rapper Jay-Z says he will never announce his retirement again but will slip away quietly from the music world when he is done making enough music.

The hitmaker had declared in 2003 that The Black Album would be his last work.

However, the 39-year-old Big Pimpin’ rapper made a 2006 comeback with Kingdom Come.

Jay, real name Shawn Carter, followed with American Gangster in 2007 and his The Blueprint 3 has just been released.

Contactmusic quoted him as saying: “I learned from that last one (retirement announcement) that you should just let it happen. The day that you’re not making music you should just not make music.

It doesn’t have to be an announced retirement. So I would never say that again. Ever.” (ANI)

Jay-Z gives full-throated reply to rap’s black critics

London, Sept 4 (ANI): Rapper Jay-Z has rubbished all criticism of hip-hop by well-known African-Americans who believe the genre degrades their ethnicity.

The superstar said the protests were only for “publicity purposes”.

Hip-hop recently generated a lot of disapproval from prominent black celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Bill Cosby, who say it is misogynistic and frequent uses the racial N-word.

An annoyed Cosby even went on to pull off a hip-hop album that was “without the profanity, misogyny, violence and braggadocio”.

However Jay-Z thinks otherwise. The hitmaker says rap portrays important issues in its own style.

The Daily Express quoted him as saying: “Put it like this; everything is birthed from somewhere real, right? These emotions and this anger and this angst in reality rap is coming from a real place.

“People in those circles try to dismiss it, buy you can’t because it’s part of culture. They only attack hip-hop because, and I hate to sound like a cynic, but this is all done for publicity purposes, right? You don’t attack the real issue – you attack the thing that’s popular.” (ANI)

No charges against Jay-Z, Beyonce’s bodyguard in snapper scuffle case

Washington, Aug 21 (ANI): All charges against Beyonce’s beau Jay-Z and her bodyguard have been dropped after the latter was allegedly charged with threatening the paparazzi.

The couple is currently holidaying in Dubrovnik, Croatia and the bodyguard was involved in a tussle with snappers when they tried to click them.

The charges were dropped after a review of the footage of the incident.

The video shows the bodyguard Julius, blocking off photographers in an alleyway as the couple walks out of a restaurant. Jay-Z is heard shouting, “Let’s go, let’s go, don’t worry about it” and “stop stop stop,” reports Contactmusic.

Three snappers claimed that Julius threatened them, manhandled them and damaged their property, none of which is seen in the video.

The bodyguard will not face any legal action after the local authorities investigating the claims declared him clean, according to TMZ.com.

However, he will be fined an undisclosed sum. (ANI)

Kanye West’s girlfriend shows off bikini bod in Barcelona

London, August 19 (ANI): Kanye West’s girlfriend Amber Rose was spotted showing off her curves as the two holidayed in Barcelona.

The former stripper was seen sporting a bright orange bikini on the beach before she went topless sunbathing.

Rose, who is also bisexual, recently revealed how her rapper beau does not mind her colourful past.

“Kanye knew my life, so when it was, ‘Oh, Kanye do you know she was a stripper, that she used to date girls?’ he was like, ‘Tell me something I don’t know,’” the Sun quoted her as saying.

The couple went their separate ways earlier this year, but got back together after the singer made arrangement for his girlfriend to star alongside him in Jay-Z’s video for “We Run This Town”. (ANI)

Jay-Z close to signing book deal

Washington, July 10 (ANI): American rap mogul artist Jay-Z is close to signing a deal to reveal the story behind his lyrics in a book.

Executives at Spiegel and Grau, an imprint of Random House publishers, are said to have approached the Big Pimpin’ hitmaker, famed for never writing down his song rhymes, with the book deal.

An article in the New York Observer says that Jay-Z’s literary agent Matthew Guma is in final negotiations for a tome of commentary, reports Contactmusic.

The hip hop star, whose real name is Shawn Carter, may explain the thinking behind some of his most famous tracks in the book.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z has just been named Hip-Hop’s Cash King in a new Forbes magazine poll, with past year earnings of 35 million dollars. (ANI)

Brit magazine slammed for putting ‘ghoulish’ Jacko death shot on cover

New York, July 1 (ANI): A British magazine has reportedly been slammed for putting a ghoulish “last” picture of Michael Jackson on the cover of its latest edition.

OK! magazine was said to have shelled out more than 500,000 dollars on the shot showing the King of Pop on a stretcher and possibly dead.

“Media buyers have canceled upcoming meetings to discuss rates. It’s a disgrace. They’ve sunk to a new low,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying.
Sean Combs and Jay-Z were also reportedly fuming and considering a “boycott”.

However, a representative for the journal said: “This is untrue. No one at OK! has been contacted about any such cancellations as a result of the magazine’s coverage of this news event. Any pages booked by the advertising team are running as scheduled.”

Combs’ representatives said: “Not true.”

Jay-Z’s representatives were unavailable for comment. (ANI)

Jay-Z nixes Chris Brown’s plans to perform at BET Awards

New York, July 1 (ANI): Jay-Z thrashed Chris Brown’s hopes of returning on stage at the BET Awards, in a bid to pay tribute to late King of Pop Michael Jackson.

Brown has been low-key since beating up his ex-girlfriend (and Jay-Z’s artist), Rihanna, earlier this year.

Apparently, Brown was supposed to participate in the Jacko tribute at LA’s Shrine Auditorium, but Jay-Z pulled the plug on the plans.

“Jay-Z wasn’t having it. He threatened to pull out of the show if Chris was involved, so BET dropped Chris,” the New York Post quoted a source as saying.

A representative for Brown said: “That’s not true-he was never confirmed to perform.”

Brown was close to Jackson and performed ‘Thriller’ at the World Music Awards in 2006. (ANI)

Obamas top Giant’s Most Influential list

Washington, June 10 : US President Barack Obama has topped Giant’s new Most Influential list.

Second on the list is his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, reports Contactmusic.

Following closely behind the First Couple is Oprah Winfrey in the third place.

Jay-Z and Beyonce hubby have become the top African-American entertainment couple, as the duo grabbed the fourth and fifth position in the poll.

Other celebrities making the top 10 are Tyler Perry at seven, Will Smith at nine and Tyra Banks at 10.

Kanye West, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Lil Wayne and Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon made the top 20.

Jay-Z may join Warner Music Group after Def Jam split

New York, May 28 (ANI): Rapper Jay-Z is likely to ink a deal with Warner Music Group after his recent split from Def Jam.

If successful, it will make him one of the richest and most powerful men in the music world.

According to well-placed sources, Jay Z has been taking top-secret meetings with his old pals and former managers Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles.

The conversations have included giving Jay his own record label at WMG, tentatively to be called the Carter Music Group.

“Jay knows Lyor and Kevin from back when they all worked together at Def Jam, and he obviously wants to work something out with his friends,” the New York Daily News quoted an insider as saying.

“He wants to get the dream team back together. There have been a few whiffs of a reunion in the past, but only now – and very privately – is something finally starting to happen,” the insider added.

Another source said, “This is big in hip hop. These are three of the most powerful men in music, who might be working together, and there’s no question the success they’ll have as a team will be huge.”

“Jay-Z, Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles are all brand names. They’re the industry’s heavy hitters, and the combination would bring them a lot of attention. They would be unstoppable. Jay himself is the most successful rapper-turned-businessman out there,” added a music-biz insider. (ANI)

Jay-Z steps down as CEO of Def Jam Records

London, May 23 (ANI): Jay-Z has stepped down as the CEO of Def Jam Records.

According to RapRadar.com, the 39-year-old star has revealed that he is now “a completely independent artist” after buying out the remainder of his contract.

“Working with Doug Morris and LA Reid has been a unique and fulfilling experience and I respect them immensely,” the BBC quoted him as saying.

“Doug and I spoke directly and had one of the most unique ‘negotiations’ ever.

“I thank him for allowing me to be a completely independent artist. Not every artist can say they own or are given the opportunity to own all of their music,” he added.

Jay-Z had remained with the label after stepping down as CEO last year, and struck a deal worth a reported 150million dollars with concert giant Live Nation, which includes touring, publishing and albums for the next decade.

He has since created a new record label, and has been working on a new album, Blueprint 3, with Kanye West since 2008. (ANI)

Jay-Z has pizza and caviar Christmas Eve ritual with Jacob Arabo

London, May 22 (ANI): Shawn Corey Carter, who is also known as Jay-Z, has revealed that he and jeweller Jacob Arabo have a Christmas Eve ritual that involves eating pizza and caviar.

The singer said that when he first started out, he had no idea what caviar was and hated the idea of eating fish eggs.

However now, he said, he really likes it.

“I didn’t even know what caviar was. Fish eggs? That’s disgusting; that’s repulsive,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

“If someone told me they liked it, I would have thought they were fronting (lying to look good)… Now I really enjoy it,” he added. (ANI)

Beyonce Knowles gets racing tips from Lewis Hamilton

Washington, May 18 (ANI): Beyonce Knowles has found the perfect teacher to learn about the nuances of professional F1 racing-Lewis Hamilton.

The race ace has reportedly agreed to teach the ‘Baby Boy’ singer how to drive like a professional.

Beyonce met Hamilton in Monaco on May 17 ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix on May 24.

The crooner was there to support her sister Solange, who was performing in the city.

And Britain’s Daily Mirror has reported that Hamilton delighted Knowles by offering to take her and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, for a ride.

“Beyonce’s so excited to be learning from him. And Jay’s even worse. He’s ready to put on his helmet and get in the fast lane himself,” Contactmusic quoted a source as telling the newspaper. (ANI)
