WAGs declare war on Capello following their World Cup ban

London, Sep 12 (ANI): England’s WAGs have blasted coach Fabio Capello after he banned them from the World Cup in South Africa and laid down strict rules for them.

Capello insisted that his stars will not go to the tournament for a holiday, and warned their wives and girlfriends: “If you don’t like it, don’t come.”

He ruled that his current squad can have just one day with their partners and families after each game next summer. And that will be the only socialising allowed.

The WAGs hit back after the team boss insisted the South Africa trip will not be a “holiday” by saying that they were a vital part of the beautiful game, the Daily Star reports.

Speaking on behalf of the international players’ wives, Lizzie Cundy, 38, wife of ex-Chelsea ace Jason, 39, said: “Fabio has made the wrong decision.”

Danielle Lloyd, 25, who is dating Portsmouth loan signing Jamie O’Hara, 22, says WAGs are vital to the game.

“I understand Fabio’s concern. It isn’t a good idea for the wives and girlfriends of the footballers to be taking them away from their careers. But it is important for us to be supporting our partners, as that will also help them with their game. I always make sure Jamie eats well and rests in the run-up to a game so he’s in the right frame of mind,” she said.

Lizzie added: “I admit that at the last World Cup the WAGs did hit the headlines but they’ve learned their lesson and have all grown up a bit.”

Capello’s hardball threat came after England’s last trip to the World Cup finals turned into a circus when the WAGs took over the picturesque town of Baden Baden in Germany. There were parties every night and the players were in almost daily contact with their loved ones. (ANI)

US reality TV stars expecting their 19th child!

London, Sep 2 (ANI): The couple from reality TV show ’18 Kids and Counting’ have announced that they are expecting their 19th child.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, from Tonitown, Arkansas, say that they are ‘thrilled’ to be expecting a new addition next spring, despite already having ten sons and eight daughters aged from eight months to 21.

“We are so thrilled. We just couldn’t believe it is happening,” the Telegraph quoted Michelle Duggar, 42, as having told People magazine.

Jim Bob, 44, added: “This never gets old. We are so grateful for each child. We are looking forward to our first grand baby and our 19th child.”

The couple’s eldest son Joshua, 21, and his wife Anna are also expecting a child next month.

The Duggars have confirmed that the new baby will be given a name beginning with the letter ‘J’, just like all the couple’s other children.

The existing Duggar children are called: Josh, 21, twins Jana and John-David, 19; Jill, 18; Jessa, 16; Jinger, 15; Joseph, 14; Josiah, 13; Joy-Anna, 11; twins Jedidiah and Jeremiah, 10; Jason, 9; James, 8; Justin, 6; Jackson, 5; Johanna, 3; Jennifer, 2, and Jordyn-Grace, 8 months.

If the Duggars continue to breed at the same rate the next generation will have 400 members, the third generation will have 8,000, the fourth 160,000, and the fifth 3.2 million.

This would mean that one in ever hundred people in America would be a Duggar, there would be more Duggars than Latvians, and there would be more Duggars than residents of America’s 21 least populous states. (ANI)

Cameron Diaz dating Sex and the City star Jason Lewis?

Washington, Aug 19 (ANI): Cameron Diaz may have found new love in ‘Sex and the City’ star Jason Lewis.

The ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ star was spotted flirting with the actor during a recent meal together at a sushi restaurant in Venice Beach, reports Contactmusic.

An onlooker said: “Cameron and Jason were sitting in the corner of Shima totally wrapped up in one another. They couldn’t stop touching each other. And we couldn’t stop looking.”

According to reports, the pair has known each other for several years as friends, however, it is only now that they have embarked on a romantic relationship.

The source added to Grazia magazine: “They’ve always got along, but now realise just how much they have in common.

“Jason is exactly Cameron’s type. She’s attracted to athletic types and they’re both passionate about the environment.”

Jason has previously dated Jennifer Aniston, while Cameron has been linked to Maroon 5 star Adam Levine and actors Jude Law and Leonardo DiCaprio. (ANI)

Britney’s biographer insists she’s not dating her agent Jason Trawick

London, July 12 (ANI): Pop star Britney Spears’ biographer Steve Dennis insists that the singer is not romantically involved with her agent Jason Trawick.

Steve, who will soon come out with the book ‘Britney: Inside The Dream,’ dismissed the rumours after talking to 37-year-old Jason’s colleagues at the William Morris Agency in LA. A person at William Morris who knows Jason told me, ‘Of course, it’s not true.’ And I think there is mild amusement that this ‘relationship’ story has grown legs, let alone been taken seriously,” the Daily Star quoted him as saying.

He said: “It’s not the first time he’s been linked with her. What’s surprising second time around is that everyone seems to have swallowed it hook, line and sinker.”

However, Dennis insists that Trawick is a friend and supporting the pop princess in her ‘Circus’ tour.

He added: “Jason is a great guy who’s been a support for Britney. But he’s more protector and adviser than boyfriend. All talk of romance is a non-starter.

“Jason may well be the rock she has in her life right now, someone she can rely on, but those who know him best don’t believe it.” (ANI)

Geldof recently became the face of Miss Ultimo lingerie, exposing her tattoo-covered body in the highly publicised advertising campaign. (ANI)

Soon, sat nav that directs guide dogs for blind people

London, Apr 18 (ANI): A British boffin has invented a revolutionary sat nav that directs guide dogs for blind people.

The 500-pound gizmo, which will be launched this summer, clips on to the dog’s harness and vibrates on the left or right side to tell the handler which direction to go in.

The blind user announces their destination into a sat nav microphone. The vibrating receiver then indicates how to “steer” the dog.

Product design student Jason Perkins developed Peepo after working with the Cardiff Institute for the Blind for a year, reports The Sun.

Jason, 34, who studies at the University of Wales Institute in Cardiff, said: “It gives blind people complete freedom. They can use it to navigate safely to new places.

“I wanted to create something that would have a life-changing effect but would also draw on the unique skills of the guide dog.”

Blind Jane McCann, 39, from Cardiff, who tested Peepo, said: “I have small children, so it’s difficult to concentrate on the kids and directions at the same time. This was easy to use and life-enhancing.” (ANI)

Facebook may help catch cheating boyfriends

London, April 8 (ANI): Facebooking may be a great way to meet strangers but it could also give you the shock of your life. That’s what happened with Michelle Westby, 21, when she looked at a stranger’s photos on Facebook only to find her own boyfriend cheating.

The receptionist and part-time model had clicked on fellow model Toni Colville’s album to get ideas for her fashion poses, reports the Sun.

She then decided to take a peek at Toni’s holiday photos and discovered images of her cuddling Jason Jennings-Brown, 23, who Michelle had been dating for six months.

Through the social networking site, Michelle got to know that the love rat had been two-timing her with unsuspecting Toni, 21.

And Michelle, from Stevenage, Herts, fears he may have duped other women.

She said: “Toni had some great pictures. Scrolling through them I saw she had an album entitled ‘Holiday in Egypt’, which I opened. I admit looking at the personal pictures was sheer nosiness, but what else is Facebook for?

“Clicking through them my hand suddenly froze over the mouse. Staring back was my boyfriend, Jason, with his arms around this pretty stranger.

She added: “I felt sick and couldn’t believe it. What are the chances of looking at a total stranger’s pictures and seeing your boyfriend cheating in them?” (ANI)

Judy or Joshua are Britain’s happiest names, while Lynn or Ben most miserable

London, March 28 (ANI): People named Judy or Joshua are likely to be the happiest in Britain, and those called Lynn or Ben the most miserable.

This suggestion comes from Dr David Holmes, a psychologist at Manchester Metro-politan University, who believes that people’s personalities can change to fit the name they are given.

He says that women named Stephanie, Linda, Pam and Pat are among the most cheery, and that the same is the case with men named Matthew, Jason, Terry and Barry.

However, said Dr. Holmes, the unhappiest women tend to be Charlotte, Tina, Amy or Tara.

He further says that the glummest males are likely to go by the names of Andrew, Edward, Tim or Owen.

According to Dr. Holmes, Christian names are similar to brand names in that people associate certain characteristics with them.

He corroborates this by saying that Pauline is one name that is generally thought of as miserable because of EastEnders character Pauline Fowler, played by the late Wendy Richard.

On the other hand, the name Judy has the opposite effect due to its association with actress Judi Dench and TV presenter Judy Finnegan, both of whom are seen as good-natured persons.

Dr. Holmes believes that the association which others make rubs off on the person with the name, and that the personalities of such people become shaped to fit their name and the assumptions of others.

“We know from our research that names can influence student marks so it follows that they also affect how we treat those so named,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

“The associations we have with certain names, particularly significant namesakes, also shape how we see ourselves and so may have an effect on our confidence and assumed role in society.

“Names have a powerful effect on attitudes and should therefore be chosen with care,” he added. (ANI)

Britney ‘not dating’ her agent

Washington, Mar 16 (ANI): Britney Spears’ friends have dismissed reports the singer is dating her long-time agent.

Rumours of romance started making rounds after the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker was spotted enjoying a romantic meal with her agent Jason Trawick in between the singer’s Circus tour dates.

Reports suggested that the pair had recently begun dating, after four years of working together.

However, insiders have hit out at the rumours, insisting the two share a purely professional and platonic relationship.

“They are absolutely, 100 percent not dating. He is her agent, and that is it,” Contactmusic quoted a source, as telling UsWeekly.com.

“They have never gone out on a date. He has been her agent for four years, and they are very close friends.

“Jason was on the road with Britney for three of her tour dates, but that is because that’s what agents do-they support their clients. Any stories of them being together are completely and utterly made up,” the source added. (ANI)

Jay Kay’s Ferrari trashed outside hotel

London, Mar 04 (ANI): Pop star Jay Kay, who is known for his exotic car collection, was left appalled when his valued Ferrari was trashed outside a hotel.

The ‘Jamiroquai’ hitmaker was staying in Brudenell Hotel in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, when his car was trashed for no cause at all.

The Police has been quizzing 21-year-old cook Aaron Billington about an attack on the rare 227mph black Enzo Ferrari.

Billington, who lives in staff accommodation next to the seaside hotel, was also arrested on suspicion of causing 7,000 pounds worth of damage to the car.

However, Jay Kay aka Jason revealed that he had no clue as to who harmed his car.

“I don’t know anything about what happened. I just came out in the morning and discovered it.It is a shame that this is what has happened to this country,” the Daily Star quoted Jay Kay as saying.

“People just want to vandalise other people’s things for no particular reason.I love the fact that Aldeburgh has never known anything as exciting as a smashed windscreen on an Enzo Ferrari,” Jay Kay added.

Jay Kay also admitted that it was a very dazzling car, and he was saddened by the incident.

“It was not the most inconspicuous of cars,” Jay Kay said.

Meanwhile, the hotel authority did not comment on the incident, but revealed that their chef was in custody.

“All we know is that our pastry chef is in custody,” said Grahame Tiunion, operations director of Thorpeness and Aldeburgh Hotels. (ANI)

Omitting McGain from first Test was a huge blunder, says Warne

Johannesburg, Feb.28 (ANI): Former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne believes the Australian selectors have erred hugely in not picking Victorian Bryce McGain for the first Test against South Africa.

“Bryce McGain is clearly the best spinner in Australia. I was disappointed that he was not picked for the first Test in South Africa. The South Africans don’t play wristies well,” Warne was quoted, as saying.

“The hardest thing is that when you’re losing and the spinners are not having a big impact, they can be made the scapegoat. If they were winning they probably could have carried a McGain or a (Beau) Casson or a (Jason) Krejza. It’s a tough situation for the spinners,” he added.

“I would stick with one (spinner) … and that would be Bryce McGain,” Warne said, adding that he believed spinners would be the key in this year’s Ashes series and the selectors had missed an opportunity to blood McGain before the first Test in July.

Warne also said that Ricky Ponting was getting better as a captain, but hinted that he might still be too conservative.

“He’s improved. It’s a very tough time to be captain at the moment. I’d like to see Ricky put guys in situations to try a few different things … and maybe show more imagination at times.

But on the whole he is doing a good job,” Warne said. (ANI)
