WAGs declare war on Capello following their World Cup ban

London, Sep 12 (ANI): England’s WAGs have blasted coach Fabio Capello after he banned them from the World Cup in South Africa and laid down strict rules for them.

Capello insisted that his stars will not go to the tournament for a holiday, and warned their wives and girlfriends: “If you don’t like it, don’t come.”

He ruled that his current squad can have just one day with their partners and families after each game next summer. And that will be the only socialising allowed.

The WAGs hit back after the team boss insisted the South Africa trip will not be a “holiday” by saying that they were a vital part of the beautiful game, the Daily Star reports.

Speaking on behalf of the international players’ wives, Lizzie Cundy, 38, wife of ex-Chelsea ace Jason, 39, said: “Fabio has made the wrong decision.”

Danielle Lloyd, 25, who is dating Portsmouth loan signing Jamie O’Hara, 22, says WAGs are vital to the game.

“I understand Fabio’s concern. It isn’t a good idea for the wives and girlfriends of the footballers to be taking them away from their careers. But it is important for us to be supporting our partners, as that will also help them with their game. I always make sure Jamie eats well and rests in the run-up to a game so he’s in the right frame of mind,” she said.

Lizzie added: “I admit that at the last World Cup the WAGs did hit the headlines but they’ve learned their lesson and have all grown up a bit.”

Capello’s hardball threat came after England’s last trip to the World Cup finals turned into a circus when the WAGs took over the picturesque town of Baden Baden in Germany. There were parties every night and the players were in almost daily contact with their loved ones. (ANI)

Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears show off hot bods on Miami holiday

Washington, Aug 1 (ANI): Britney and her sister Jamie Lynn Spears showed off their hot bikini bodies on Monday, while on Holiday in Miami.

The siblings, along with their kids and parents, had spent about an hour at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel pool Monday afternoon.

“They both looked to be in pretty good shape,” Us magazine quoted a witness as saying.

This is the first time that 18-year-old Jamie Lynn, who welcomed daughter Maddie in June 2008, has shown off her post-baby body.

“She had on a white, spangly top. A very little bikini!” said the witness.

The family, including Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, “sat around the pool for about 20 minutes. Then Britney worked on her tan while Jamie Lynn took her daughter and her mom to a cabana on the beach.”

“They seemed pretty relaxed. Everyone was smiling,” said the witness. (ANI)

Poor batting, not absence of spin cost Australia the Ashes: Hilditch

Melbourne, Aug 25 (ANI): Chairman of Australian selectors, Andrew Hilditch, has rejected criticism for not playing spinner Nathan Hauritz in the fifth Ashes Test, and said that Australia lost the Test because they got 160 in the first innings.

Hilditch admitted that his panel was “gutted” by Australia’s 2-1 Ashes loss to England.

He said the Australian team’s failure to prevail in big moments ultimately derailed its Ashes campaign, but did not expect players or selectors’ heads to roll as a result.

The national selectors – Hilditch, David Boon, Merv Hughes and Jamie Cox – were under fire, with a host of former players saying they had erred in choosing an all-pace attack for The Oval.

But Hilditch said it was simply a matter of misreading the pitch. “We read it as a wicket that was looking like a road, which was the assessment of everybody,” he said.

“We thought it was a wicket that would suit the four fast bowlers that played at Headingley and it was a reluctance to change a winning side from the fourth Test. It would be an over simplification to say that is the reason we lost the Test. We lost the Test because we got 160 in the first innings,” The Herald Sun quoted him, as saying.

“Obviously the selector on duty has a big role in assessing wicket conditions, but in the end we all communicate and made the decision. Jamie Cox was the selector on duty but everybody misread the wicket – captain and coach included. That just happens from time to time,” Hilditch added.

Ponting agreed that “we probably got that wrong. Not before the game, we thought we were picking the right attack for the conditions that we saw. But in hindsight, a specialist spinner would have been pretty handy out there.”

Spin legend Shane Warne said that “everyone should be under the microscope” and that “someone would have to take the rap” for Hauritz not playing at The Oval.

“To win a Test match you’ve got to take 20 wickets and Hauritz would have made a difference on this wicket. England wouldn’t have made 330 in the first innings,” he added.

Former Australian captain Ian Chappell said the selectors needed to remember to “pick a team for five days, not just the first one.” (ANI)

‘Teen-proof’ room cuts out the clutter

London, Aug 24 (ANI): The days of teenagers’ messy bedrooms may finally be over, courtesy an Edinburgh-based company, which has designed a room they can’t ruin.

Design firm IDP claims to have created the ‘teen-proof’ bedroom, which provides solution for the cluttered spaces that have enraged parents for decades, reports the Scotsman.

It features drawing pin friendly fabric wallpaper; a wipe-clean desk; a swivel chair with secret pockets for stashing chocolate and electronic gizmos; stain-resistant carpets; and enough space under the bed to hide a mountain of clothes and computer games and still leave room for a set of iPod speakers.

Gilly Corkery of IDP said: “It was an incredibly challenging project. How do you counteract the natural messiness of teenagers?”

The room includes shelves tailored to the size of CDs, along with compartments in the bed space so that electronic equipment such as stereos or PlayStations can be plugged in – great for easy access when the teens are still lounging in bed at noon.

The room will be exhibited at the Homes and Interiors Scotland Exhibition at the SECC in Glasgow next weekend.

The design firm is keeping some details a closely guarded secret – just releasing a rough sketch of a suspiciously tidy-looking room and a sample of some dog-themed furniture decor.

Corkery, who modelled the design on the taste and habits of her son Jamie, 12, said: “We’ve tried to do little quirky things that teenagers will think are quite cool,” says

“No self-respecting teenager wants to move for too long so we’ve designed a desk chair which has a pocket where they can keep a remote control, their iPod, pens, chocolate or whatever, without having to move.

“Then there’s the upholstery fabric on the walls, which means they can put posters up with drawing pins without leaving a mark,” Corkery added. (ANI)

Kate Moss, Jamie Hince’s ‘relationship on the rocks’

London, July 12 (ANI): Kate Moss’s relationship with Jamie Hince is reportedly on the rocks.

The latest pictures of the British model’s rocker boyfriend show him leaving her home.

The same night he was spotted with an unknown model.

Also some pics of the couple suggest that they didn’t to want to be snapped together.

The pair’s friends spoke about there failing love.

“She’s blowing hot and cold. Jamie is freaking out that she’s going to dump him so is hanging out with other girls to play on Kate’s jealous streak. He goes missing and doesn’t answer his phone for hours,” the News of the World quoted the model’s friend as saying.

However, the ‘Kills’ band’s guitarist’s pal insists it is the other way round.

He said: “He’s not a man who likes drama. But that’s all she’s about.” (ANI)

Doctors rebuild toddler’s heart using cow tissue

London, July 5 (ANI): In an astonishing seven-hour operation, doctors have successfully rebuilt the heart of a toddler with a help of a tissue taken from cow.

Jamie Goodier was diagnosed with life-threatening abnormality called atrioventricular septal defect.

His heart had only two valves instead of four so it struggled to pump blood around his body.

“When they said what they were going to do we were totally shocked,” the New of the World quoted mother Rebecca as saying.

“But we just wanted to save him – and if it took part of a cow to do it then fine, whatever helped Jamie survive,” she added.

Jamie was put under five months of tender care until he was strong enough for the surgery.he doctors performed tripe-le bypass, where they used tissue from around a cow’s heart to repair the missing main wall in Jamie’s before splitting his two valves into the four he needed.

“This was a very unusual case. We used a plastic band on one of Jamie’s main arteries to restrict blood flow to the lungs,” said Cardiac surgeon Nelson Alphonso.

“That allowed his condition to improve until he was strong enough for the operation.

Now 21 months old, Jamie has gone from strength to strength. “He’s a lovely healthy colour and he’s full of energy,” said Rebecca. (ANI)

This is not the first time it has been reported the British beauty and the 40-year-old musician are set to tie the knot. Earlier this year, Hince had revealed he was desperate to commit to Moss.

Britney’s dad will continue as her legal guardian

Washington, Jul 3 (ANI): ‘Toxic’ hitmaker Britney Spears will still have her father Jamie Spears act as her legal guardian until at least 2010.

Jamie, who has been the conservator of the singer’s estate since her 2008 meltdown, has obtained a 1.5 million dollar bond to continue acting as her guardian, reports Contactmusic.

He filed a legal document on June 28 certifying that he had handed the cash over to the court so that he could remain Britney’s legal guardian until at least the end of this year.

According to RadarOnline, the 1.5 million dollar bond, reportedly made up of Jamie’s own money, has been put in place in a bid to prevent the singer’s assets being pillaged.

It is unclear why the bond was filed so long after the court-ordered conservatorship was introduced last year. (ANI)

Kate Moss furious at Jamie Hince’s ‘Waynetta Slob’ jibe

London, May 7 (ANI): Supermodel Kate Moss reportedly got angry with her beau Jamie Hince when he nicknamed her ‘Waynetta Slob’.

Waynetta is the foul-mouthed, greasy-skinned, plus-sized slob played by Kathy Burke in Harry Enfield’s comedy shows.

When Hince teased Moss with the name, they ended having a major fight while on holiday last month, and the model jetted back from their break in the Maldives early after failing to see the funny side.

“Jamie likes to tease Kate. It’s all done affectionately, but sometimes he pushes things too far,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“That was the case on their holiday when Kate didn’t take kindly to her boyfriend’s wind-ups.

“Waynetta can never be bothered to do anything because she’s ‘smoking a fag’. That’s something Jamie has become accustomed to with Kate,” the source added. (ANI)

Kate Moss ‘snubs beau’s concert to holiday with Topshop boss’

London, May 06 (ANI): Catwalk queen Kate Moss turned down the opportunity to spend time with boyfriend Jamie Hince in New York last week so she could holiday with Topshop boss Sir Philip Green, according to sources.

Sources say that Hince asked the supermodel to fly to the US to watch him perform with his band The Kills at Webster Hall.

But Moss, who was in New York three days later to attend a fashion gala, instead chose to take a break on the Topshop owner’s boat in the Mediterranean.

Hince, who hasn’t seen the catwalk queen in over a month due to touring commitments, is now said to be scheduling another meet up.

“Jamie was gutted. He’s been on the road for a month and really wants to see Kate,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“His band had a gig at the Webster Hall on Friday and he’d asked Kate to come to it because she was going to be in New York on Monday anyway.

“But she didn’t want to make time to see him and went on Philip Green’s yacht instead.

“The Kills had gigs in Washington DC and Philadelphia over the weekend, which he’d also asked her to come to. He reckoned she could easily see him at the gigs and get back in time for Monday night.

“He’s now trying to get her to go to the Canada gigs. It’s not looking good,” the source added. (ANI)

WAG Danielle Lloyd punched in brawl with beau’s ex

London, May 5 (ANI): WAG Danielle Lloyd was punched in the face and suffered a cut lip in a fight with the former girlfriend of her beau Jamie O’hara.

The model and her Spurs star ran into Jamie’s ex Sade Metcalfe, who accused her of stealing the midfield ace, and her pals in a bar.

The 25-year-old claimed she was hit in the face while she was leaving and is subsequently looking to press charges over the “violent assault”.

“Sade’s friends were screaming at Danielle and calling her every horrible name,” the Sun quoted a drinker as saying.

“Danielle just looked baffled and a bit worried but tried to get the girls to go away. A scuffle broke out and Jamie asked the girls to leave them both alone.

“Security got involved and the group were chucked out. But when Danielle went to leave she was punched hard in the face. It was thuggery, a violent assault, and unbelievable behaviour from a young woman,” the drinker added.

A spokesman for Danielle said: “She has swelling and an injury to her lip. She was absolutely shocked and horrified at what happened. She and Jamie had had a lovely weekend and she was attacked for no reason.”

The spokesman added: “There is not a shred of truth in the claim she stole Jamie from his ex girlfriend. Both were single when they met.”

A Met Police spokesman said: “Officers are investigating. No arrests have been made.” (ANI)

Britain’s Got Talent star Jamie Pugh fears success

London, May 4 (ANI): Britain’s Got Talent star Jamie Pugh has in an interview revealed that just the thought of winning the TV contest leaves him quaking in his shoes.

Pugh, 38, who is a pizza deliveryman, panicked before his audition and wanted to walk out, but his loyal partner Donna Davies, 35, persuaded him to stay.

“I wanted to go home,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

“I didn’t sleep for three days before and I’m now on 40 fags a day.

“This is going to sound really weird – I fear success but I don’t fear failure. I’ve failed at a lot of things and I fear success because I’m Jamie. I’ve got to appear on a TV show and I’m dreading it.

“I’m a wreck – I’m not a star,” he exclaimed.

More than 12 million viewers saw the South Wales valleys singer stun judge Simon Cowell and earn a standing ovation with a spellbinding version of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables.

“If you had asked me to sing any other song I wouldn’t be able to, because I don’t know many songs,” Jamie said.

“But Bring Him Home comes from my heart. It’s about what I might have lost through choices I’ve made.

“Believe me – if I’d not sung that song I would have gone to pieces,” he added. (ANI)

Kate Moss, Jamie Hince’s relationship on the rocks?

Washington, May 4 (ANI): Brit supermodel Kate Moss’s relationship with guitarist boyfriend Jamie Hince is reportedly on the rocks again after it emerged that he struck up a friendship with a PR girl on tour in Australia.

Hince and his band ‘The Kills’ have been on a gruelling trip around America, New Zealand and Down Under.

As per British newspaper The Mail, Moss was not pleased when she heard Hince had become friendly with Nicci Hunter, who works for Australian clothing label Sass and Bide.

“Word reached her that Jamie became quite friendly with Nicci. She cut short her holiday to the Maldives with Jamie earlier this year because they were fighting so much,” Contactmusic quoted a source as telling the tabloid.

“Now she and Jamie haven’t seen each other for weeks. She hasn’t wanted to join him on tour,” the source added.

Hunter insists her friendship with Hince is innocent, adding she met him through his Kills bandmate Alison Mosshart. (ANI)

Jamie Spears’ beau in hospital after horror car smash

London, Apr 29 (ANI): The lover of Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears was involved in horror car accident when he wrecked his Ford truck after a fishing trip.

Casey Aldridge, 19, suffered a blood clot near his brain after the car crash and the Nickelodeon star was at his bedside before doctors operated on him.

“Jamie and Britney are both worried sick. They’re concerned about reports that he may need surgery for a blood clot. At first they thought it wasn’t that serious,” The Daily Star quoted a source as saying.

Aldridge and two of his four passengers were not wearing seat belts and were catapulted out of the vehicle.

The medics have said that he had suffered mild brain trauma, a fractured skull and had been “in and out of consciousness”.

Aldridge has been charged with careless driving on his way home in Mississippi.

Also, Louisiana State Police added that there was no indication of the involvement of alcohol or drugs in the incident.

Casey and his pals had been at a cousin’s stag do before deciding to go late night crabbing.

Jamie Lynn, 18, gave birth to Casey’s daughter Maddie just 10 months ago and the couple have been living together since then.

However, they have not yet announced any plans to marry. (ANI)

Britney’s ex manager ordered to stay away from her for 3 years

Washington, April 29 (ANI): A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has issued a three-year restraining order against Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi.

Attorneys for Britney’s father and conservator, Jamie, had been seeking a long-standing restraining order against Lutfi, the singer’s ex manager and close confidant during her personal meltdown.

And now, Judge Aviva Bobb has ordered Lutfi to keep at least 100 yards of distance from the singer, her two sons and her family members’ homes.

He further must not hassle the pop princess and her kids, or try to contact them through phone, mail and email.

The orders also forbid him from “acting on Ms. Spears’s behalf or purporting to act on her behalf.”

Lutfi’s lawyer Bryan Freedman said he would contest the judgement.

“We absolutely will appeal this ruling. Never before in history has a restraining order been issued against someone who answered another person’s cries for help,” People magazine quoted him as saying. (ANI)

‘Fungal infection makes Kate Moss stay away from booze’

London, April 17 (ANI): Kate Moss has been reportedly ordered to abstain from drinking due to her medication for a fungal infection on a foot.

The supermodel was said to have landed with the painful condition after getting a pedicure at a “cheap salon” in New York.

“Kate fancied a little pampering when she went to New York for the launch of her clothing range in Topshop,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“She normally uses beauty salons in the five-star hotels she stays in but she decided to pop into a parlour in New York.

“She regrets the decision now as the nail on her big toe on her right foot has turned yellow and has become really thick and ugly. She is certain she caught a fungal infection from the cheap salon,” the source added.

The 35-year-old had been allegedly looking forward to spending the weekend with beau Jamie Hince at the Coachella Festival in California.

The source added: “Kate was looking forward to letting her hair down with Jamie at the festival. But she knows she’s going to have to lay off the booze for the duration due to her medication.” (ANI)

Is Kate Moss planning to write a cookbook?

London, April 6 (ANI): After conquering the modelling world and storming the high street with her Topshop threads, Kate Moss is rustling up some recipes to tickle tastebuds, according to sources.

The catwalk queen has reportedly decided to write a cookbook after being inspired by Topshop boss Sir Philip Green’s stepdaughter Stasha Palos, who recently penned her very own recipe book of traditional Jewish dishes.

“Kate recently cooked Jamie a slap-up Jewish meal following kosher techniques from Stasha. She loves her easy-to-follow recipes,” the Mirror quoted an insider, as saying.

“It’s all she’s been taking about.

“Stasha is due to release her book this year and Kate has been testing out the recipes,” she added.

The Croydon-born supermodel has reportedly been trying her hand at everything from chicken noodle soup to salt beef and potato latkes, non-dairy pareve carrot and honey cakes.

“Her friend Davinia Taylor has been helping and Kate is always on the phone to her pals for tips,” the insider said.

“She is buzzing about the idea of being the first supermodel to release a cookbook,” the insider added. (ANI)

Lutfi’s sister says Britney wanted her brother’s help

New York, Apr 3 (ANI): The sister of Britney Spears’ former manager Sam Lutfi has testified that the pop singer told her in recent months that she needed her brother’s help to hire her own attorney.

Attorneys for Britney’s father and conservator, Jamie Spears, have been seeking a long-standing restraining order against Sam, a manager and close confidant of the singer during her personal meltdown, that forbids him from contacting her.

Sam’s sister Christina Lutfi was called as a surprise witness at a Los Angeles court. She said that she teamed up with Britney to contact her brother in a spy novel-like plan.

Britney, whose phone access is strictly limited by her father, allegedly asked Sam to sneak a cell phone to her at a Beverly Hills hotel in mid- January, according to Christina.

“[Britney] told me she wanted to get a hold of Sam,” the New York Daily News quoted Christina, as telling People magazine.

“She wanted him to help her find a lawyer, and wanted someone to get a pre-paid cell phone to her. She was scared because her father was blackmailing her with visitation rights over her kids,” she added.

Christina said that she met with Britney in a hotel sauna where the singer was handed a phone.

“She asked me, ‘Will Sam be able to help me?’” Christina said.

Britney then hid the phone in a locker.

Jamie Spears, who has controlled his daughter’s personal and financial affairs since early last year, testified back in February that he eventually found and confiscated the phone.

However, Jamie’s lawyer Blair Berk has dismissed rumours that the singer wants to end her father’s legal control.

Britney “was in such fear [of Sam], she asked if I could get him arrested, to keep him away from her,” said Berk.

Meanwhile, Sam’s attorney, Bryan Freedman has denied his client has committed any wrongdoing.

“Sam’s only crime was trying to help out a friend. When someone asks for your help, that person is obviously not scared of you or in need of a restraining order.” Freedman said.

Freedman argued that Spears’ attorneys have not shown enough evidence of ‘substantial emotional distress’ as a result of communication with Sam.

Closing arguments in the case will be heard on April 21. (ANI)
