107-year-old Malay woman wants 23rd hubby!

Kuala Lumpur, Sept 14 (ANI): A 107-year-old woman is looking for a groom to marry for the 23rd time because she fears her present hubby will leave her after coming out of rehab.

Centenarian Mek Wok Kundor married the 37-year-old Mohd Noor Che Musa in 2005, but ever since he joined rehab in July she fears their marriage will break down after he’s cured of drugs.

The woman, who is called Tok Wook, fondly confessed her insecurity and said she was looking for a new hubby to fill her ‘forlornness and nothing more than that’.

Tok Wook lives in Kampung Bukit TokBat and plans to visit Mohd Noor on the second day of Hari Raya if someone drives her to Kuala Lumpur.

The Star Online quoted her as saying: “I want to express my feelings and tell him that I am lonely without him and if he reciprocates, I will wait for him without thinking of another marriage.”

She added: “I am not searching for a man as handsome as our Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak), but someone to accompany me in my twilight years.

“I realise that I am an aged woman. I don’t have the body nor am I a young woman who can attract anyone.

“My intention to remarry is to fill my forlornness and nothing more than that.” (ANI)

He gave thanks for them and for his spiritual resources that are helping him recover, and apologized to fans to the sudden, silent departure, taking full responsibility himself.

“Sherry, Lexi, and I have been on quite a journey the past few months. All of the hardship that has come our way has been due to an addiction that I have had to prescription drugs for the last several years. Yes, this is completely my fault. Sherry, Lexi, or K-LOVE had nothing to do with the events that occurred.”

Further Jon Rivers dedicated his healing to Sherry Rivers and thanked Jesus for curing him.  he has also denied the rumors of infidelity which some reports have indicated.

Ex-smoker Obama confesses having occasional ciggies

New York, June 24 (ANI): US President Barack Obama has confessed that he constantly struggles giving up smoking and sometimes ‘messes up’ by giving into occasional cigarettes.

The popular leader, who has been trying to kick the habit completely, made the revelation at a White House news conference in between talks on health care reform, a new energy policy and a halt to Iranian repression of dissent.

“As a former smoker, I constantly struggle with it,” the New York Daily News quoted him as saying.

He added: “Have I fallen off the wagon sometimes? Yes. Am I a daily smoker, a constant smoker? No.”

Obama, who recently inked the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act on, further insisted he made it a point not to give in to his “weak moments” in front of his family.

He said: “I don’t do it in front of my kids. I don’t do it in front of my family. I would say that I am 95 percent cured. But there are times … where I mess up.” (ANI)

Divine intervention helped Drogba gain form

London, Apr 26 (ANI): Didier Drogba’s family is thanking divine intervention for helping restore him as the leading scorer of Chelsea.

Drogba is heading for a Champions League semi-final first leg in Barcelona on Tuesday with fans amazed by his comeback after being dumped by previous Blues boss Big Phil Scolari.

And uncle Michel Goba, the ex-pro who brought him up as a kid, believes the power of prayer has been at work.

“Only those close to him know how Didier had suffered this season. He had hit rock bottom. I remember watching him in a Premier League match at Liverpool on TV and he hardly touched a ball. Even when he did, he could not control it,” Goba said.

“His father Albert and I are very religious men. It was God who gave me the idea of bringing Didier from his Ivory Coast home as a child when I went to play football in France.

“Didier proved his resilience then and has done so many times over since, but we thought he needed a little help from above, too. So Albert and I both prayed in Paris for force and energy to be transmitted to Didier because he had a massive job in front of him,’ News of the World quoted Goba, as saying.

“I believe our prayers were answered – especially when you consider how far he had to come back.

“He would have left if Phil Scolari had stayed as boss. Now his future is for him to decide. All I know is that he is a man with a mission and that is to win the Champions League,” he added.

Goba, who coaches the town team of Athis- Mons in Paris, wants to work in England with a lower division club. (ANI)

Slumdog’s ‘Jai Ho’ Trust hires social worker to look after Rubina Ali

Washington, Apr 22 (ANI): Slumdog Millionaire trust has come out to the rescue of the film’s child star Rubina Ali by hiring a social worker to look after her.

The Jai Ho Trust was established with financial support from the filmmakers to ensure the welfare of the movie’s child stars, including Rubina and Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail.

The trust has offered to help by hiring a trained social worker to look after the welfare of Rubina – amid allegations that the nine-year-old girl’s father Rafiq tried to sell her for 2,00,000 pounds.

However, Rafiq has denied the claims.

“Both Danny [Boyle, the director] and I remain committed to working the trust and the family to secure Rubina’s long-term best interests,” Usmagazine quoted Slumdog producer Christian Colson as saying.

One of the Jai Ho trustees, Noshir H. Dadrawala, said that “the trust will support Rubina, her parents and responsible authorities to ensure that the rights and best interests of Rubina” are protected.

“The trust is in regular contact with Rubina Ali and her family and has hired a social worker to assist in looking after her welfare and that of her co-star,” he added.

“Danny and I both fully support Mr. Dadrawala’s comments,” said Colson.

The independent trust was set up to ensure that the family of the child stars receive suitable accommodations and a fixed sum of money each month for living expenses.

It also covers the education costs for Rubina and her siblings and provides her with a lump sum of money after she turns 18 years old. (ANI)

Israel could strike Iran if US does not rein in its nuke ambitions: Netanyahu

Washington, Apr.1 (ANI): Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that if US President Obama doesn’t act to stop Iran developing a nuclear weapon, the Israelis may be forced to attack Iran.

An article titled, “Netanyahu to Obama: Stop Iran-Or I Will” in The Atlantic makes the threat of a unilateral strike on Iran’s nuclear sites very explicit, reports CBS.

“You don’t want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran,” Netanyahu told The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg.

“The Obama presidency has two great missions: fixing the economy, and preventing Iran from gaining nuclear weapons,” the hardline Israeli leader said, just hours before taking the reigns of the government for a second time on Tuesday.

Tempering the you-do-it-or-we-will tone of the article, Goldberg adds that Netanyahu did voice support for President Obama’s effort to end Tehran’s quest for a nuclear weapon. (ANI)
