Woman survives 12-feet fall – after landing on lover””””s Aston Martin!

London, May 13 (ANI): A woman survived a 12-feet horror fall when she landed on her lover””””s Aston Martin.

Jade Bates, 22, tumbled backwards from an open bedroom window but miraculously escaped only with a leg injury.

She landed on the bonnet of his new 140,000-pound DB9 sports car – which was left with a huge dent.

“There was a huge scream and Jasvir looked outside to see Jade lying on his car. He was frantic.

“If the Aston hadn””””t had such a long bonnet, she could have been paralysed or dead. The car saved her,” The Sun quoted Jade’s friend as saying.

Jasvir, 28, rang 999 and Jade was taken to hospital by ambulance.

She was recovering at home yesterday.

Jasvir is thought to be “distressed” at the fall, having upgraded the Audi R8 weeks earlier.

“They were celebrating a friend””””s birthday.

“The guys were in the kitchen and the girls were upstairs. It appears to have been just an accident.

“Jasvir just bought the car and there seemed to be problems with electrics. It””””ll cost a lot more to fix now,” the friend added. (ANI)

Was LSD an influence on Doctor Who?

LONDON (Reuters Life!) – The regenerations of Time Lord Doctor Who were modeled on the “horrifying” side effects of drug-induced trips, according to archived documents published by the BBC.

Lifestyle

Doctor Who, an eccentric TV hero who has fearlessly fought Daleks and Cybermen with the help of his Tardis time machine in the shape of a 1950s London police box, has become a classic figure since the show first aired in the 1960s.

The regenerations started in 1966 to allow writers to replace the lead actor. The series recently saw an 11th actor, Matt Smith, take on the role.

A BBC memo outlining the character describes his metaphysical change over the years as a “horrifying experience.”

“It as if he has had the L.S.D. drug and instead of experiencing the kicks, he has the hell and dank horror which can be its effect,” it says.

Scott praises Harvey’s captain’s knock

North Melbourne coach Brad Scott said he could not recall a better captain’s performance than Brent Harvey’s remarkable form reversal to spearhead the Kangaroos’ 25-point win over West Coast on Saturday night.

Harvey rebounded from a career-low five touches in a horror 104-point loss to St Kilda the previous week to a best-on-ground effort in which he gathered 44 possessions – the most he has ever managed in a single match.

The 31-year-old dominated from the first centre clearance at Docklands, gathering touches at will and booting a goal in the 17.14 (116) to 13.13 (91) victory.

But Harvey’s game may be remembered best for a goal he did not kick in the final quarter.

A lung-bursting seven-bounce run from deep in his own half ended with a long-range kick which sadly clipped a post, rather than delivering the major it deserved.

Scott, who played in two premierships with Brisbane, lavished high praise on his skipper afterwards for his effort to fight back from a below-par effort the week prior.

“That’s what champions do – they bounce back. He’s an out-and-out champion and he proved that today,” Scott said.

“I can’t think of a better captain’s performance than what he produced today. It was fantastic.”

For Scott, it was his first win since taking the helm at North Melbourne and proof the rebuilding Kangaroos may be moving in the right direction under the youngest coach in the AFL.

“We got reward for effort. We’re really confident, very confident, in the way the club’s heading,” Scott said.

“I was really pleased the players responded the way they did. They gain a lot of belief that the things we practised and we talk about, we can get the result.

“We’ve still got a lot to work on, we’ve still got a hell of a lot of coaching to do, we’ve still got to educate the players the way we want them to play.

“But I’ve got to be honest, it’s much better winning than losing.”

More than 100 people, including the surviving children of Mr Oppelaar and Ms Ford, filled All Saints Anglican Church in Ainslie to farewell the family.

‘Russian roulette’ at wedding turns tragic after guest shoots himself

Melbourne, Mar 23 (ANI): A wedding turned into a tragedy, when a guest was seriously wounded playing “Russian roulette” in front of a horrified bride and groom.

The police arrested a wedding guest, who had been giving a toast when he pretended he was playing the deadly game with a gun.

According to the Daily Mail, the guest claimed that he thought that the gun was entirely empty.

But then he gave the gun to another guest, who in his turn also fired the handgun against his head – and dropped to ground as a rubber bullet exploded into his skull.

And the video of the incident has sparked horror after being posted on the web.

The unnamed man”s condition was later described as “very poor” after doctors removed a bullet from his skull.

He suffered brain damage and paralysis, according to Russian reports.

The man who produced the handgun at the Astrakhan wedding was arrested.

“I wanted to perform my party trick. I expected lots of applause after I did it and never guess someone would repeat it,” the Herald Sun quoted him as saying.

He insisted he had taken out all the bullets before doing his party “trick”.

The police said that the man is due to appear in court over the incident. (ANI)

Men jailed over Auschwitz theft

Three Polish men have been sentenced to jail for stealing the infamous sign that hangs above the gate of the Auschwitz concentration camp.

The sign was stolen last December.

The five-metre metal German inscription, which reads ‘Work sets you free’, has long symbolised the horror of the camp where more than one million Jews were killed in World War II.

Three men have been sentenced to up to 2.5 years in jail for the theft, while two others have yet to be tried for their role.

One of them, a Swedish former neo-Nazi leader, is due to be extradited to Poland.

The Auschwitz museum made a copy of the sign after the theft so it may not risk placing the original back above the gate.

Pak must weed out its ‘strategic asset’ extremist groups for survival: Editorial

Islamabad, Mar.13 (ANI): Friday’s serial bomb blasts in Lahore was the second terrorist strike in the city within a week which clearly suggests that claims regarding inflicting a body blow to extremists organisations breeding on the country’s soil were premature.

Soon after militants struck in Lahore, the city’s top police official, in a knee-jerk reaction, blamed India for the bomb blasts , which were neither supported by any evidence nor had an iota of truth in them.

It is time Pakistan stops blaming others for the mess created by its own people, an editorial in one the country’s leading English dailies said.

“The enemy is here and has struck again and again, and our only hope of survival lies in driving the monster out before it is too late to do so,” The News editorial said.

It said that until Pakistan acts tough against militants thriving in terror safe havens situated inside the country’s boundaries, there is no possibility of peace returning to the nation and people would continue to suffer the way they are at present.

“Somehow we have to stop this horror. The stains of blood that have coloured countless streets must fade away forever. Until this happens we, as a nation, will know no peace,” editorial said.

It also pointed out that it is imperative for Pakistan to act against extremist groups such as the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which it considers as its ‘strategic assests’.

“Pakistan may not have been willing to take out its ‘strategic assets’, but circumstances are increasingly compelling it to concede that if it does not, then these ‘assets’ will definitely take out the state and society of Pakistan,” the editorial concluded. (ANI)

Coming soon: a horror story on American Fritzl’s victim?

London, Sept 20 (ANI): Publishers and Hollywood studios have begun a multi-million dollar bidding war for the rights to sex slave Jaycee Dugard’s horrifying life story.

Fresh details of the American Fritzl’s victim have emerged, including that in the early days of her captivity, the terrified schoolgirl was so hungry she ate bugs and worms in the rambling back garden where she was held in tents and lock-up sheds, reports The Daily Express.

She had to use a garden hose to shower outside, even in winters, say detectives guarding her and her two daughters, fathered by kidnapper Phillip Garrido.

However, the public apparently is desperate for the full story of how Jaycee, now 29, survived after being snatched on her way to a school bus stop when she was only 11.

A New York literary agent, who estimates the book and film rights to be worth up to 12million dollars, said: “You couldn’t dream up a script like this. Americans can’t wait to hear the story from the girl who lived it.”

A Hollywood studio producer said: “Everyone is in the market for this story. Poor Jaycee’s life may have been hell for 18 years but she’ll never want for anything for the rest of it.”

Garrido, a registered sex offender, has been linked to six child abductions and murders stretching back years within a 400-mile radius of the ramshackle home in Antioch, California, where Jaycee was held. (ANI)

Robin Williams’ nude scene in World’s Greatest Dad shocks daughter

Washington, Sept 18 (ANI): Actor Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda was left embarrassed after seeing her father nude in his new movie ‘World’s Greatest Dad’.

The comedian plays teacher Lance Clayton, who turns his life around after suffering a terrible family tragedy.

In the film, Williams’ character suffers a mini-breakdown and strips off for a plunge into a school swimming pool.

“Actually it (the nude idea) was mine. I thought, ‘It’s at the end of the movie, where this guy is having a catharsis… he’s getting rid of everything, why not go (nude),” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“I dive into a pool and, coming up (to the surface), it’s almost like a rebirth. It’s a strange thing and, in a weird way, it worked,” he added.

However, Williams failed to warn her 20-year-old daughter about the scene, who was left stunned at the recent premiere of the film.

“My daughter was at the premiere. She came up and said, ‘Thanks for telling me, dad.’ She’s 20 now and she was like, ‘Thanks for giving me a heads up about the nude scene!’” he added.

Williams says he can understand how horrifying it must have been for her – because he’d react with horror if she ever stripped off for a film.

He said, “I think I’d be like, ‘Stop! Turn that off!’ That’s when hypocrisy comes up and goes, ‘Payback’s a b**ch!’” (ANI)

Now, ‘Australian Fritzl’ who raped daughter, fathered four kids emerges

Melbourne, September 17 (ANI): Lisa Neville, Australian Community Services Minister, has come under fire after huge number of bungling in the child protection services emerged, including a sex horror case of a man accused of fathering four children with his daughter.

Neville is expected to be faced with calls to resign after revelations of failed attempts by Victoria’s Department of Human Services (DHS) to conduct proper background checks on a known sexual predator before letting a child into his care.

The accused is said to have caged his daughter as a virtual prisoner, raping her almost daily from when she was 11 years old, reports the Herald Sun.

All the four kids bore by the woman, who is now under the care of authorities in a safe house, had health problems when delivered in major hospitals in Melbourne. One of the kids died soon after birth.

Their birth certificates do not hold the name of their fathers, prompting alarms as to why questions were not asked at the time.

The man denied the allegations, but was charged after DNA tests allegedly proved he was the father of her children. He is due to appear in court in November.

Comparisons have been drawn between the case and that of Josef Fritzl, the Austrian man who held his daughter as a sex slave for 24 years and fathered seven children with her.

Minister Lisa Neville told ABC Radio: “I was extremely appalled to see the allegations.”

“They are only allegations and are before the courts at the moment and we need to be very careful about how much detail we go into,” Neville said.

“I became aware of this from the media today and I don’t know what, or if, (there has been) any involvement of the police, the department or other agencies … over the past 30 years.

“This will be a priority to look into,” she added. (ANI)

Fox had revealed in an interview last month that she kisses a woman in the movie, reports the News of the World.

Hamilton says he can still take the F-I title

London, Sep.4 (ANI): Lewis Hamilton says he has not given up hope of retaining his F1 title – even if people think he is crazy.

The reigning champ is a massive 45 points behind fellow Brit and championship leader Jenson Button, with just 50 to play for.

“I know it sounds crazy but I’m not going to put the title out of my mind until it’s mathematically impossible. I’ll still be going for it, trying to get every single point I can. We can keep attacking and the last five races should be good for us,” The Sun quoted 24-year-old Hamilton, as saying.

Meanwhile, Giancarlo Fisichella has been released by Force India to join Ferrari for the remaining races – and is set for the reserve driver role next year.

The Italian, 36, who scored Force India’s first points by finishing second at the Belgian GP last Sunday, replaces countryman Luca Badoer.

Ferrari moved for Fisichella after it was confirmed Felipe Massa would not be back until next season following his horror crash in Hungary. (ANI)

US Fritzl linked to prostitute serial killings

London, Aug 31 (ANI): Police suspect that ‘American Fritzl’ Phillip Garrido terrified Jaycee Lee Dugard by taking her to sites where he may have killed 10 prostitutes.

Garrido kept Jaycee as his sex slave for 18 years and fathered two children with her.

It is believed that his horror tour for the three was meant to make them too scared to flee him, reports the Daily Star.

And it left the mother and her two daughters suffering from Stockholm Syndrome where hostages grow emotionally attached to their kidnappers.

Detectives suspect that convicted rapist Garrido, 58, could be one of America’s worst mass murderers.

It is being said that Garrido may be responsible for unsolved killings dating back to 1998.

The bodies of 15-year-old school- girl Lisa Norrell and three strangled and stabbed hookers were dumped on an industrial estate in the nearby town of Pittsburg where he worked at the time.

Call girls Valerie Schultz, 27, Rachael Cruise, 32, and Jessica Frederick, 24, were mutilated and left in ditches.

Seven other prostitutes also went missing but their bodies have never been found.

And police now know that Garrido took Jaycee and her daughters – named as Starlite and Angel – to the same town just a few weeks ago. (ANI)

Rumer wants to work with parents Bruce Willis, Demi Moore

Washington, Aug 29 (ANI): Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter Rumer Willis wants to do a movie with her parents.

The 21-year-old, who has earlier starred with actress mum in 1996 film Striptease, and with her dad in The Whole Nine Yards in 2000 and in 2005′s Hostage, wants to work with her parents in a challenging role.

She has also worked in a string of movies, including upcoming horror remake Sorority Row, and filming a role in teen TV show 90210.

“Sometimes I think we helped each other by playing opposite each other,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

“When my dad has to do a super-emotional scene, he looks at a picture of us to find the emotion. Playing his kidnapped daughter in Hostage meant he didn’t have to look at the picture to get kind of tearful.

“I’d love to work with my parents again, now that I’m older. I’d love to play someone other than their daughter,” she added. (ANI)

Mum-to-be Kourtney Kardashian considered abortion

Washington, August 20 (ANI): Pregnant Kourtney Kardashian has confessed that she considered if she should get an abortion.

The American reality TV star, who is allegedly four months pregnant, said she agonized over the decision and “wasn’t thinking about adoption.”

The socialite told People magazine that she “definitely thought about it long and hard, about if I wanted to keep the baby or not,” reports Fox News.

Kourtney further revealed she did some soul-searching after holding consultations with her doctors on the risks of abortion, and going over horror stories online.

She said: “For me, all the reasons why I wouldn’t keep the baby were so selfish. It wasn’t like I was raped, it’s not like I’m 16. I’m 30 years old, I make my own money, I support myself, I can afford to have a baby. And I’m with someone who I love.” (ANI)
