Jordan bans ex Peter Andre from visiting stepson

London, May 26 (ANI): Former glamour model Katie Price a.k.a. Jordan has banned her ex-husband Peter Andre from meeting her disabled son Harvey until he hires a well trained nanny to take care of him.

The ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker does not have a legal right to see his 8 year-old stepson, fathered by footballer Dwight Yorke.

“It”s been over 2½ months and I”m missing him so much. I speak to him nearly every day, though, so that helps. Kate doesn”t want me to see him until I have a specially qualified nanny she approves of, ” the Sun quoted him, as saying.

However, Andre he has got a new nanny which he hopes Price will approve of.

He said: “But I”m feeling really hopeful that I”m going to get to see him soon as I”ve found a nanny that I think is great. Fingers crossed.” (ANI)

Lily Allen wins three Ivor Novello Awards

London, May 21 (ANI): British singer Lily Allen has bagged three Ivor Novello Awards.

Her single ‘The Fear’, No1 for four weeks in February last year, won Most Performed Song and Best Song Musically And Lyrically at the songwriters’ bash on May 20.

Allen, 25, and Greg Kurstin, with whom she penned a string of her hits including ‘The Fear’, together won Songwriters Of The Year.

“I didn’t realise I was an exceptional songwriter. I just thought I wrote nursery rhymes – little ditties that I write for myself. I am overwhelmed,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

She wants to establish herself as a hitmaker for hire and has set her sights on adding extra magic to chart-topping acts such as Lady Gaga, whose ‘Just Dance’ was knocked off No1 by ‘The Fear’.

“I’m still writing songs all the time and I won’t be writing just for myself any more. I want to write for Lady GaGa,” she added. (ANI)

London, May 18 (ANI): Actress Kerry Katona has described singer Peter Andre as “gorgeous” and admitted that she fancies him.

On being asked if she fancied the ‘Mysterious Girl’ hitmaker, in an interview with new! magazine, she replied: “Who wouldn”t? He’s gorgeous. He is a lovely, lovely man. I understand why people love him – he has it all.”

However, she said she “wouldn”t cross that line ever” because she was bridesmaid at his wedding with ex-wife Katie Price, reports the Mirror.

Katona revealed that she and Katie Price “were never really good friends.” (ANI)

Rihanna tumbles over on stage during London show

London, May 14 (ANI): Rihanna was close to injuring herself again on her tour when she fell down a flight of stairs during her London show.

The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker has suffered a series of nasty injuries on her current trek.

She was admitted to hospital in Switzerland last month after injuring her ribs, and then she slipped on stage at a concert in France, just a few days later.

Rihanna vowed to carry on despite the incidents and headed over to the U.K. earlier this month for a string of shows across the country.

However, when Rihanna appeared onstage to sing her hit ‘Te Amo’ at the O2 Arena, she took a tumble and landed on her backside, reports the Daily Star.

However, the singer is a true professional, as she promptly carried on with her set. (ANI)

London, May 7 (ANI): A flood that hit Nashville, Tennessee seems to have destroyed Keith Urban’s guitars and other equipment, and his gear that he kept in the storage facility.

The country singer, who was about to begin work on a new album, was forced to stop after severe storms caused flooding across the city.

“I wish we could talk to each other under better circumstances. I am actually in the studio recording. We were supposed to start yesterday, but we could not get all the trucks in to get all my equipment out of this big storage facility.

“We thought we would leave it a day and hoped the waters would subside, but instead they continued to go up and up.

“At this stage it is possible that I have lost all my equipment, all my road equipment, and all of my guitars and amps, everything. We have to wait and see to what extent the waters came up… but we know it is not good,” The Daily Express quoted the Sweet Thing hitmaker as speaking with CNN anchor Rick Sanchez.

The star is however grateful that he and wife Nicole Kidman survived the disaster that is estimated to have killed 29 people so far.

He adds, “This pales in comparison, people have lost everything… We are certainly financially helping, my wife and I are.”

Other stars Toby Keith and Brad Paisley have also had their equipment damaged by water. (ANI)

Aids death teen inspired Elton John to turn his life around

London, April 29(ANI): Sir Elton John has revealed that an American teenager, who died of Aids in 1990, inspired him to become sober.

Ryan White, 18, had passed away about five years after contracting HIV.

The singer met the boy after he was banned from a central Indiana school at 13. White’s case had drawn public attention to HIV/Aids education and the plight of children with HIV in the 1980s.

John was present at Riley Children”s Hospital when White passed away. He was a pallbearer at the funeral.

Now, the ‘Candle in the Wind’ hitmaker will perform in a benefit event in Indianapolis, marking the 20th anniversary of White’s death.

“It was one of the greatest things in my life to meet Ryan”s family, to be there the last week to try and help, and then for that wonderful message that he gave me to change my life around,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.

He added: “It was weird to take stock and think of it — I”m 20 years sober this year, and it”s 20 years since Ryan died, because I got sober shortly afterward.”

The funds raised will be forwarded to Elton John Aids Foundation and the Indianapolis Children”s Museum”s Power of Children exhibit. (ANI)

Snoop Dogg’s U.K ban lifted

London, March 30(ANI): Snoop Dogg has thanked U.K. immigration officials for helping overturn his visa ban.

The ‘Beautiful’ hitmaker said he was grateful to two senior immigration judges who ruled against border authorities.

“As we speak I”ve been reinstated and I”m on my way back to the U.K. so I wanna give a shout out to all the beautiful people who allowed me to come back,” the Daily Star quoted him as telling U.S host Larry King.

Border officials had arrested the rapper following a brawl at Heathrow Airport in 2006.

Authorities later denied him entry in 2007 branding him a threat, referring to his prior drug and firearms offences.

However, Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, challenged the decision in court.

His lawyers appealed for repealing the ban emphasizing on his charity and community work as a high school football coach at an Asylum and Immigration Tribunal in February (10).

Now, the tribunal has decided to end the ban. (ANI)

London, March 27 (ANI): Lady Gaga And Elvis Presley duet can be the best collaboration, according to a new poll.

The ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker and the ‘Candle in the wind’ singer topped the survey conducted by website Match.com.

The voters were asked to select the two singers they would most like to see perform together, reports The Daily Express.

Michael Buble and Nina Simone followed them while soul stars Aretha Franklin and Luther Vandross came third.

Will Young/Barbra Streisand ranked fourth.

And Bonnie Tyler and Meatloaf collaboration was positioned fifth in the list. (ANI)

Producer Rodney Jerkins likens Lady Gaga to MJ

London, Mar 27 (ANI): Comparing Lady Gaga to Michael Jackson, super-producer Rodney Jerkins has said that the eccentric singer could build a career to rival the late King of Pop”s.

Jerkins worked with the late superstar on his final studio album, 2001”s ‘Invincible’, and produced Gaga”s latest hit single ‘Telephone’.

The music mogul has confessed that he is extremely impressed with the ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker, and is sure that she can go on to become a music legend just like Jackson.

“We haven”t seen an artist like Gaga in a long time – we haven”t seen an artist that really has no fear. I remember Michael Jackson used to tell me he was crucified for doing Thriller, but he had to do what he felt was needed at that time. Robbie Williams signs up Westlife, Gordon Ramsay for Soccer Aid event

London, March 23 (ANI): Singer Robbie Williams is returning again in 2010 with his the Soccer Aid event, in which professional soccer players take on celebrities.

The Angels hitmaker has signed up Irish boyband Westlife and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay for his bi-annual charity soccer tournament.

The Soccer Aid event was founded in 2006 and it raises money for UNICEF UK.

Williams is pleased he”s persuaded so many stars to sign up in the same year as the soccer World Cup, which takes place this summer (10) in South Africa.

“I am so excited Soccer Aid is back. It will be a great time for for football, with World Cup fever at boiling point,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

The tournament will take place at the U.K.”s Old Trafford ground in Manchester, England on 6 June (10) – five days before the World Cup starts. (ANI)

Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ rings fresh sex controversy

London, March 23 (ANI): Lady Gaga has sparked new controversy over her sexuality with new music video ‘Telephone’.

A pixelated moment in the music clip has left people speculating on the singer’s sexuality once again.

The video shows two transvestite guards strip her down to a pair of fishnet tights in a prison.

GaGa”s private parts are pixelated, as the guards walk away saying: “I told you she didn”t have a d**k.”

“It”s interesting because in fact I was wearing opaque tights on underneath fishnets,” the Daily Express quoted the 23-year-old pop star, as telling The Sun.

She added: “The idea is that it”s an unanswered question. You kind of see whatever it is you see personally.

“Whether people think I was naked or think otherwise, it”s meant to be subjective to whoever is watching it. It”s pixelated for that reason but it”s interesting to see the different ways people view it.”

Referring to the pixelation, GaGa said: “I”ve heard it”s been blurred out so you don”t know if she”s a man or a woman.

“Others have said she”s had it cut off or she”s doing full-frontal nudity in the video. It”s all down to each person”s interpretation as to what they are missing.”

However, RnB singer India Arie believes the ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker has gone bit too far.

She Tweeted: “Don’t be offended this is all MY opinion… Am I the only one who thinks the “telephone” video is going a bit too far? I’m not referring to the abstract nature of the video … I’m talking about the IMAGERY – the unspoken back story, the language the message.

London, March 17 (ANI): George Michael is using technology to find hot guys – the singer has downloaded an iPhone application that helps him find blokes nearby, it has emerged.

According to Michael”s pals, the 46-year-old hitmaker is cleverly using Grindr app to locate partners and meet them as he vacations Down Under.

“George has been using the application loads since he has been in Oz as he doesn”t know the local spots,” the Daily Star quoted an insider, as saying.

The source added: “It”s great for him as he can find out exactly where the nearest people are discreetly without having to ask around in bars where he would be recognised.”

Washington, September 19 (ANI): John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono believes that pop star Britney Spears is a survivor.

“I think she’s a survivor and she’s doing very well,” Us magazine quoted her as saying at the ThreeAsFour Homage to Yoko Ono in NYC.

Ono suggested that the ‘Womanizer’ hitmaker’ came back strong after becoming infamous for her psychotic behaviors, drug use, and a custody battle with ex Kevin Federline over her two sons.

She said: “I think that the world was not fair to her, and they’re just using her and not dignifying her.”

The rap star’s new album ‘Blueprint 3′ might as well be his 11th American number one album, which will take him past the late ‘Jailhouse Rock’ hitmaker’s record of 10 number ones.

Billboard said the 39-year-old had so far shifted 476,000 copies of the LP, the BBC News reports.

Beyonce bags multi-million perfume deal

Washington, Sept 16 (ANI): Beyonce is all set to launch her own fragrance under a multi-million dollar contract with world-famous perfumers Coty.ontactmusic quoted Beyonce as telling WWD.com, “For me, fragrance reflects a woman’s attitude and unique sense of style.

“While I love various perfumes, I haven’t found a scent that truly personifies me as a woman. Working with Coty, I was able to turn my ideal fragrance into a reality by creating an alluring and sophisticated fragrance; one that’s reflective of my inner power.”

The exact amount of the deal is not known but experts believe the 28-year-old star could take home about 20 million dollars in the next three years.

The still-to-be named scent will be ready for sale in 2010.

Perfume business is not new for the hitmaker who is already the face of Emporio Armani’s Diamonds perfume and has earlier promoted True Star fragrances for Tommy Hilfiger. (ANI)

Elton John may have to battle gay adoption ban in Ukraine

London, September 14 (ANI): Elton john may need to overcome legal hurdles before he gets to adopt the Ukranian child he recently said he wishes to take home.

According to the national laws of the country, the ‘Candle in the Wind’ hitmaker and his partner David Furnish are too old to adopt 14-month-old Lev, as the law does not allow parents 45 years older than the child to adopt.

Also, same-sex couples are restricted from adopting a child.

Moreover, it has emerged that even if Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko were to allow the singer to adopt the kid, then he would have to take his brother too.

The singer was unaware of the legalities involved when he expressed the desire to be the child’s guardian.

He had said: “I don’t know what the procedure is to adopt a boy from the Ukraine.”

In case he manages to adopt Lev, then the boy will have his Christian name as his middle name under Ukrainian law.

He may be called Lev Eltonovich John and if the adoption is in the singer’s real name then, Lev Reginaldovich Dwight.

John was impressed with the child when he recently visited an orphanage. (ANI)

Lily Allen to make stage debut in West End play

London, September 14 (ANI): Lily Allen has decided to take a break from her singing career and make her stage debut in a new West End play.

The 24-year-old confessed she has had enough of music for the time being as she recently wrapped up the festival season at Bestival.

“I’m not going to record and tour again for quite a while. I finish up my gig dates in March and I’ll be ready to do something else,” the Sun quoted her as saying.

“I’ve been on the road for four years and I’ve given my voice a real run for its money. I’m struggling, so I’m going to try something new,” she added.

The ‘Smile’ hitmaker will play the lead role in ‘Reasons To Be Pretty’ penned by writer and director Neil LaBute, and the star is also taking acting lessons with a teacher from posh drama school RADA.

She revealed: “The play is about themes close to my heart, things I touch on in my track The Fear, about the really damaging cult of beauty among young girls.

“They want me to play the lead, which is amazing and terrifying. There’s a lady from RADA coming round to my house to train me up a bit. I’m always up for a new challenge.” (ANI)
