MJ had secret hitlist of ‘enemies’

Washington, Sept 18 (ANI): Late singer Michael Jackson maintained a secret list of enemies, which only his closest associates were aware of.

The King of Pop’s former manager Dieter Wiesner has revealed that Jackson had a secret hit list of the people who he wanted to be kept away from him at all times.

The list included ex-friends Uri Geller and Rabbi Schmuley Boteach, Santa Barbara, California, District Attorney Tom Sneddon, who tried to put Jackson behind bars on child molestation charges and lawyer Glora Allred.

Wiesner admitted he transcribed the list as his client reeled off names.

“Sometimes he was a little bit paranoid… I’d ask him, ‘Michael, what are you doing…?’ He said… ‘These people are after me and they want to destroy my life,’” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

The list of enemies also included music mogul Tommy Mottola and Janet Arviso, who accused Jackson of molesting her son at his Neverland Ranch home. (ANI)

Arsenal’s Fabregas at center of Barcelona power struggle

London, Aug 20(ANI): Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is at the centre of a power struggle at Barcelona.

According to reports, Fabregas is on Barcelona’s hit-list for next summer, and it is believed that a 30 million pound deal has already been struck between Barca and the Gunners.

It is believed that current president Joan Laporta, who is entering his final year in charge, is desperate to deliver former Barcelona teenastar Fabregas before he quits to stop his sworn enemy Sandro Rosell from taking credit for the transfer at Barcelona, The Mirror reports.

Rosell is also reportedly trying to strike an agreement with Fabregas, an issue which would be the foundation of his election campaign.

Arsenal has denied any such agreement being struck or being in contact with Barca.

Arsenal is convinced that Fabregas, who is midway through a seven year contract, will stay at the club even though he has admitted that he wants to go back to his native Spain one day. (ANI)

It’s a dog’s life for these canines

New Delhi, April 3 (IANS) It’s not just policemen who find themselves overworked at the time of elections, but man’s best friend too. In Gujarat, most sniffer dogs are working day and night at political rallies.

Whenever there is a large rally or high-profile candidates like the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) L.K. Advani and Chief Minister Narendra Modi – who are on the hit list of terrorists – are addressing the crowds, the dogs are on call.

The canines can sniff out bombs as well as suspicious people at the same time.

Most of these sniffer dogs – belonging to breeds like the doberman, labrador and alsatian – are also working with police units investigating major crimes, especially bomb disposal squad.

Policemen feel sorry for the animals that have to perform such a high-pressure job. At present there are around 100 sniffer dogs in Gujarat, but police have requested for 100 more.

Taliban ready to attack Islamabad for Swat military offensive

Islamabad, Feb.11 (ANI): The Taliban has warned that it will attack Islamabad if the military offensive in the tribal areas, including the Swat Valley is not halted

Graffiti on walls across Islamabad have surfaced, warning of attacks if the military offensive in Darra Adamkhel and the Swat Valley is not stopped, The News reports.

Several religious leaders in the capital say they have been asked to either support the Taliban or leave the city, failing which they will be considered associates of the “pro-American Zardari government.

The Taliban has included the names of some Jihadi and religious leaders in their hit-list because of their refusal to fight against their own countrymen.

Taliban leader Omar Khalid has reportedly threatened several teenagers belonging to the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) to leave the tribal agency or face death.

The upsurge in Talibani activity and its stern warnings follow the brutal murder of a Polish engineer.

Evangeline Lilly once worked as a flight attendant

New Delhi, Feb 9 (ANI): Hollywood actress Evangeline Lilly was so desperate to travel around the world that she began working as a flight attendant.

However, the job didn’t stand up to her expectations, as it was terribly grueling, thus she finally quit and ventured into Hollywood, reports China Daily.

“I had no money. I was living on tea and peanut butter when I was a university student. I just wanted to travel so desperately that I would have done anything. I did the flight attendant training, which is grueling and hectic,” Evangeline said.

“I did the job for one month and then I quit. I hated it so much. I didn’t really get to see anywhere – I would go to Germany, and I’d be flying out the next morning. What’s the point of that?” Evangeline added.

After venturing into Hollywood, the ‘The Hurt Locker’ actress is grateful that her profession takes her to multifarious places around the world.

“Now I can see the world. Last summer, I went to seven different countries on two different sides of the Atlantic, in two different hemispheres, in two months,” Evangeline told The Dark Horizon website.

“I went to South America, to Argentina and Peru. And I went to Europe. I’ve also been to Japan and all sorts of other places. Russia is next on my hit list. I’ve got to go see Russia. And I’d like to go to Southeast Asia,” she added. (ANI)
