Hewitt’s Adelaide mansion up for sale for less than he paid for it

Brisbane, May 1 (ANI): Tennis star Lleyton Hewitt’s Adelaide mansion could go for less than he had paid for it.

Brock Harcourt Semaphore agent Steve von der Borch said the Hewitts had this week decided to formally advertise the waterfront property for 2,950,000 dollars plus.

The former tennis world no. 1 paid 3.2 million dollars for the West Lakes property in September 2003, the Advertiser reports.

“The reason Lleyton is selling this property is that it simply no longer suits his family’s needs and it’s just going to be chewing up interest so it’s just a logical thing for him to do,” news.com.au quoted von der Borch, as saying.

It is understood there has only been one offer placed on the property since it went on the market last October.

Von der Borch denied Hewitt had been forced to speed up the sale, despite being embroiled in a legal battle against his former management team Octagon in the Victorian Supreme Court.

It was reported this week that Hewitt had invested hundreds of thousands of dollars overseas and took up to two million dollars a year from his bank account as personal expenses.

Situated on about 860sq m and overlooking West Lakes, the home features up to five bedrooms – currently set up as three – a sweeping stairway, large hall with an internal water feature, indoor pool, spa, sauna, commercial cool room and an indoor barbecue. (ANI)

Tennis star Hewitt, spouse launch legal action against Oz magazine

Melbourne, Mar.31 (ANI): Australian tennis star Lleyton Hewitt and his wife Bec have started legal action against the New Idea magazine after it claimed the actress was seeing another man – who in reality was her brother.

The magazine ran a cover story titled “Bec’s other man” and claimed she was spending more and more time with a “hunky” American fitness trainer.

The magazine carried photographs of Bec and “Minder Mark” with the Hewitts’ two young children.

The Hewitts yesterday told the Herald Sun “Minder Mark” was in fact Bec’s brother, Shaun Cartwright.

They described the article as a “calculated deception” of the Australian public.

“Our marriage has never been stronger,” they said.

“We are blessed with two wonderful healthy children (Mia and Cruz) and we are still very much in love.

“For some time now we’ve had to endure fictional, rubbish stories by New Idea and Woman’s Day targeted at our marriage, private lives and even work with charities.

“This brazen fabrication by New Idea will hopefully highlight to the Australian public the untruths and lies some magazines will resort to achieve increased sales,” news.com.au quoted them both, as saying.

Bec Hewitt is demanding an apology and correction from New Idea.

New Idea claims “Minder Mark” was a former fitness trainer from Dallas. (ANI)
