Heidi Klum, Seal renew wedding vows

New York, May 10 (ANI): Heidi Klum and Seal renewed their marriage vows at a Mexican beach town to celebrate their wedding anniversary.

The night”s theme was “brides and grooms”, reports Usmagazine.com.

Guests came dressed as couples ready to walk down the aisle and a minister was also present to conduct spontaneous vow renewals.

“They wanted it to feel like a real wedding, but still have a theme,” the New York Daily News quoted a source, as telling People.com.

After the nuptials, the 80-odd revellers joined the couple for celebrations in a thatched hut decorated with chandeliers, candles and flowers. (ANI)

Carey, Cannon plan a lavish annual wedding ceremony

London, Jun 24 (ANI): Rapper Nick Cannon has revealed that he plans on celebrating his union with his wife singer Mariah Carey by holding a lavish annual wedding ceremony.

The two, who had exchanged vows for the second time in the Maldive Islands in April, after a wild Las Vegas bash with their A-list pals, are following in the footsteps of Hollywood couple Heidi Klum and Seal.

Klum and Seal have been exchanging vows with themed ceremonies every year since their own 2005 nuptials.

“Do it big or don’t do it at all. We’re always having a party… It was so quiet the first time and we want to have a party for everybody. We went to the Maldives and had another wedding on a private island,” the Daily Express quoted Cannon as saying.

“We’re going to get married every single year in a different location. You’ve got to do it different every single year, different every time, themed weddings, all of that,” he added. (ANI)

Oprah Winfrey cancels Indian trip over swine flu fears

Washington, May 7 (ANI): Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey has cancelled a low-key trip to India over fears of the swine flu epidemic, it has emerged.

It was believed that Winfrey would visit the birthplace of Hindu monkey god Hanuman and then fly to Goa on May 5 and meet up with her guide, Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat.

However, the trip was cancelled at the last minute after Winfrey was advised to stay at home, reports Contactmusic.

U.S. Hindu statesman Rajan Zed says: “She was planning to visit Hanuman’s birthplace near Hampi, about 300 kilometres from Goa airport. Anjanadri Hill near Anegundi is believed to be the birthplace of Hanuman. There is a Hanuman Temple on the hilltop.

“There has been increased interest in Hanuman the world over ever since President Barack Obama carried tiny Hanuman as a lucky charm during his 2008 electioneering for good luck.

“Lord Hanuman is greatly revered and his worship is very popular among Hindus; there are numerous temples dedicated to him.”

Winfrey is not the only celebrity who axed her travel plans because of the flu pandemic – Heidi Klum and Seal have called off their trip to Mexico, where they renew their wedding vows annually.

The swine flu crisis is believed to have started in Mexico City. (ANI)
