Three sewing needles removed from woman’s heart – after 23 years!

New Delhi, Sept 16 (ANI): In a strange case of heart surgery, three sewing needles were removed from the heart of a woman after 23 years.

Doctors in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, were successful in taking out the 4-cm-long needles that were stuck in Jiang’s heart, reports the China Daily.

The 44-year-old Jiang, who is fond of knitting, had no knowledge that the needles were wedged in her heart.

Doctors discovered the needles when the woman was undergoing a routine check up last month. (ANI)

Manmohan Singh undergoes angiography at AIIMS

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh underwent angiography as part of a series of heart-related tests at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) today.

According to AIIMS sources, some blockages have been found in his heart. Doctors are contemplating the next course of action.

AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr. D.K. Sharma said that the Prime Minister had come for an overall medical checkup on Tuesday, which was conducted by a team of doctors from various disciplines.

Dr Singh, who had earlier undergone a by-pass surgery, had complained of some chest pain after which a decision to carry out the tests was taken.

Dr Singh had cancelled his visit to Kolkata, scheduled for today, to attend the Asiatic Society’s post-bicentennial silver jubilee celebrations and inaugurate the 150th foundation day of St Xavier’s College. (ANI)
