Ex-Playmate was kicked out of ‘Entourage’ for refusing sexual advances

Washington, Aug 29 (ANI): Former Playmate Irina Voronina has revealed that she was fired from HBO’s ‘Entourage’ earlier this year because she declined sexual advances from the boys in the show.

The Russian Model, who is a regular on Adult Swim’s first ever-live action show ‘Saul of the Mole Men’ on the Cartoon Network, and has graced the pages of men’s magazine ‘Perfect 10′, said that the treatment she got from the ‘Entourage’ boys was the worst she had ever had.

“They were very rude and unprofessional and I was fired from the set along with another girl,” Fox News quoted Voronina as saying.

“Technically we were told there wasn’t space for us to be in the shot anymore, but we knew we were fired because we weren’t nice to the actors. They just treated me like a piece of meat without any respect and every conversation would start and end with “what are you doing later?’” she added.

The 31-year-old bikini beauty said that she had worked on the show several times before, but this time the harassment crossed all barriers.

“I decided that I was just going to be very reserved and rude and preferred never to talk to them, we wouldn’t give them the time of day or any hope of there being an after party and we did not express that we were remotely interested in hanging out with them at any point, so I guess that made them upset and bitter,” she said.

She added: “If there is a shot where we’re all in the limo and the camera is rolling, it’s us all having fun, they have their hands all over us and then when the cameras stop I expect them to reel back to being normal, but they continued the partying off camera and we made that clear.”

HBO did not respond for comment, but has previously dismissed the allegation as “unfounded and unsubstantiated.”

Tired of the stereotypical “Hollywood” male experience, Voronina advised females to go inland for a good guy.

“The nicest boys are in Detroit and Dallas. People there are not spoiled by celebrities and actually appreciate it when you shake their hand and sign a picture. Guys with good manners!” she said. (ANI)

Holidaying Obama sets himself grueling reading schedule of 2,300 pages

Martha’s Vineyard (Virginia, US), Aug. 26 (ANI): US President Barack Obama has kicked off his vacation by revealing that, in addition to endless games of tennis and golf, he plans to read five books or an astonishing 2,300 pages.

His summer reading list, unveiled by a White House apparently keen to emphasise Obama’s highbrow credentials, contains two heavyweight works of non-fiction and three novels, The Independent reports.

On top of the pile stacked on Barack and Michelle’s bedside table at the 28-acre estate they have rented for 35,000 dollars is “Hot, Flat and Crowded”, the climate change polemic by New York Times columnist, Thomas Friedman. Subtitled “why we need a green revolution”, it makes a leftish call to arms regarding the future of the planet.

Obama’s second choice is historian David McCullough’s magisterial biography of John Adams, the often underrated second US president, who was the subject of an award-winning HBO docu-drama last year.

The novels include two crime thrillers: Richard Price’s Lush Life, and The Way Home, a novel by George Pelecanos set in Washington, DC – which, much like Obama’s best-selling autobiography, explores the relationship between a father and his son.

Completing the set is the novel Plainsong, by a little-known writer called Kent Haruf. Set in a small town on the Colorado plains, its existence on the reading list may reassure voters that their metropolitan commander-in-chief has not ignored Middle America.

The books were unveiled to reporters on Monday afternoon, at an official press briefing.

President Obama has already spent a portion of his week so far playing golf, beating Michelle at tennis, and visiting friends.

To finish all five books, he would have to manage more than 300 pages every day – quite an “ask” when a small portion of his time must also be spent running the country. (ANI)

Anna Paquin does not mind getting naked

New York, Aug 24 (ANI): True Blood star Anna Paquin has said that she does not have any problems getting naked in the hit HBO show.

“It’s like, I’m sorry, maybe there are a lot of women who keep their bras on while they have sex . . . I don’t happen to be one of them. I don’t think the naked body is particularly shocking or interesting,” the New York Post quoted her as telling the new issue of Nylon.

She added: “People are incredibly literal sometimes in how they view you. You have dark hair and pale skin? You must be brooding.

“The second you dye your hair blond and get a spray tan, people treat you as if you’re a bit stupider and happier.”

The hottie along with “The Dollhouse” star Eliza Dushku, “90210″ star AnnaLynne McCord and Kristin Cavallari from “The Hills,” are to soon host a party for the magazine. (ANI)

Damon plays ‘stalkerish’ in ‘Entourage’, says co-star Grenier

Washington, July 11 (ANI): Hollywood actor Matt Damon plays a “stalkerish” in ‘Entourage’, says show’s star Adrien Grenier.

According to TV Guide, the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star recently shot for the cameo in the hit HBO series’ season finale.

In his cameo, the star does whatever it takes to get donations for his real-life charity.

“The joke is that Matt is very passionate about his charity-almost in a stalkerish kind of way,” Usmagazine.com quoted Grenier, who plays movie star Vince, as saying.

“Vince becomes intimated by his intensity. He ends up bullying Vince into giving much more than he should,” he added.

Co-star Emmanuelle Chriqui, who plays Sloan, added: “Matt gets Vince to make a massive donation. He’s like, ‘Bro – whip out your checkbook!’”

NBA player Lebron James also appears in the finale alongside Damon.

“Lebron and Matt have a scene together, and they just kill it!” said director Doug Ellin. (ANI)

Time Warner to split off AOLine

Washington, May 28 (IANS) Time Warner Thursday announced plans to spin off AOL as an independent company calling the end to the January 2001 massive media marriage as “best outcome” for both companies.

“We believe that a separation will be the best outcome for both Time Warner and AOL,” said Time Warner chief executive Jeff Bewkes, in a prepared statement.

The $100 billion merger between AOL and Time Warner was applauded at the time as a visionary attempt to meld old media with new media. But synergies between the two never materialised, CNNMoney.com reported.

Times Warner’s stock has plunged about 80 percent since the merger. The company’s stock closed at $23 per share Wednesday, down from $115.13 Jan 10, 2001, adjusted for splits and dividends.

Time Warner currently owns 95 percent of AOL and plans to purchase the remaining five percent stake from Google. As AOL has steadily lost subscribers for its dial-up access business, it has tried to focus its business more on internet advertising.

Bewkes said an independent AOL will “have a better opportunity to achieve its full potential as a leading independent Internet company”.

Bewkes also described the separation as “another critical step in the reshaping of Time Warner that we started at the beginning of last year, enabling us to focus to an even greater degree on our core content business”.

In March, Time Warner completed the spinoff of Time Warner Cable.

Even with that and the break with AOL, Time Warner will remain one of the largest media companies in the world, with cable networks, magazines and a movie studio. It is also the parent of CNNMoney.com.

The company owns the networks CNN and HBO, as well as the Warner Brothers movie studio and a wide array of magazines, including Fortune, Time and Sports Illustrated.

New York, May 2 (ANI): After ex-Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was arrested on federal corruption charges he was left without a job, but now Bunny Ranch pimp Dennis Hof has come forward to offer him one.

When the bordello owner heard that Blagojevich couldn’t go to Costa Rica to tape “I’m a Celebrity-Get Me Out Of Here!” he offered him an apprenticeship.

“He would assist with hiring ladies in addition to facilitating with training and proper disciplinary action,” the New York Post quoted Hof as saying.

Blagojevich’s labours would be featured on Hof’s HBO show, “Cathouse,” and he also said the ex-governor’s willpower will be challenged daily as the hookers try to bribe him to get finer rooms or better working hours and days off. (ANI)

Barrymore, Lange deny row over Emmy nomination for Grey Gardens

New York, April 25 (ANI): Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange have trashed reports of a spat over the forthcoming Emmy Awards nominations for their work in Grey Gardens.

The two stars had been rumoured to have had their differences over who had the claim to the Best Actress nomination.

HBO chiefs were said to have pitched in for Barrymore, leaving Lange to court the Best Supporting actress category – allegedly leading to a row between the two actresses.

But Lange refused the compromise, according to a source.

“Her immediate reaction was that she’s won two Oscars, and that she has equal screen time to Barrymore,” the New York Post quoted an insider as saying.

“She felt she wasn’t a supporting character in the film, and that it’d be dishonest and a manipulation of votes. She didn’t want a part of it,” the insider added.

Finally, HBO decided that both would run for the lead category.

A spokeswoman for HBO said: “HBO would never presume to dictate which category an actor chooses for award submissions. We do engage in a dialogue with actors and filmmakers to facilitate the process, but the actor’s decision is always final.”

Lange’s rep also added: “Prior to the decision being made, there was lots of discussion between Drew, the studio and Jessica.

Obviously people wanted a scenario where everyone was happy. At the end of the day, HBO was the one who looked at the screentime and made the call.” (ANI)

HBO all set to make a film on Barack Obama

New York, Apr 15 (ANI): US President Barack Obama’s life, and his run to the White House, would soon be turned into a new movie.

HBO is said to have optioned a book on which the movie on Obama will be based.

The channel has chosen Mark Halperin and John Heilemann’s upcoming book ‘Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime’, a behind-the-scenes look at the 2008 election.

Although casting for the movie has not started yet, bosses at HBO will soon be searching for stars to portray important characters of Obama and First Lady Michelle.

Other roles would be of chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, former ABC correspondent-turned-Obama-adviser Linda Douglass and “Harold and Kumar” actor Kal Penn, who is about to join the White House Office of Public Liaison.

According to experts, the combination of historical significance, generational shift and the style and energy surrounding the Obama administration seems tailor-made for film.
“It’s almost as if the country has elected someone from Central Casting, since the Obamas are so perfect,” the Telegraph quoted Robert J. Thompson, media professor at Syracuse University, as saying.

He added: “For young people especially, the White House can finally be seen as a cooler, younger place. And as a result, politics as a whole is certainly hip again.” (ANI)
